The really good badge stuff only comes in in the SWP patch. ZA has some good drops but not nearly for every slot, and the bis items from there are pretty rare (the caster trinket, for example). And the badge gear isn't even that good for some classes, although it is bis all until the end for some.
Even if you are in the SWP patch, getting the badges for the items takes a while, much longer compared to, say, WOTLK for sure. And guess what's a good source of badges: Kara, and it gives quite a few good drops for some classes even in that content.
Oh, and there's attunement running as well, Vashj+Kael rings, some bis items from T5 and all of that. Gear is pretty spread across tiers in TBC, really, except for the very end Sunwell levels.

cosmic wow, it was released during tbc and featured custom content and gear sets, you levelled to 100. It was sort of balanced, the biggest crits were 10k IIRC, just seemed like tbc gameplay on steroids but not really because you had more health also.Custom instances to get gear at level 85 and for level 100. It was pretty comfy.

If you look at it strictly from the perspective of mechanics, Gamer-District is the #1 WotLK server right now generally speaking (but it's handicapped by outrageous rates, outrageous custom features, medium population and being an ICC simulator), followed by Theatre of Dreams (a dead Polish server, but seeking to have an international relaunch soon) and Sunwell (another Polish server, but the admins decided to pull the plug just a couple of days ago).

Whether or not Lordaeron is better than Dalaran, I suppose Lordaeron has better class and core mechanics (pathfinding and such like). In terms of raids, both have buffed T7 (which makes it rather moot to compare which has more accurate numbers because they're not trying to replicate retail numbers) and implementing the T7 mechanics is easy so the real comparison would be in Ulduar and that's not available on Lordaeron yet.

Getting into territory of preferences now, Dalaran currently has TOC as final content so I'd personally consider it worthless for this reason alone. If you are allergic to handicaps of Gamer-District or don't feel like trying your luck with Theatre of Dreams (which might or might not get decent population, which might or might not be almost exclusively Polish), Lordaeron might be your choice of server, but let me remind you that it is run by the ultimate jews and it isn't mechanically the best server out there. Because of TOC, I wouldn't recommend Dalaran to anyone, no matter what your preferences are (if you like TOC, I'd advice you to kill yourself instead).

Its below average. Not the worst server you could play on but it has tons of class bugs and the raids and dungeons are not much better than stock TC.

They seriously rushed the release of the server and now are playing catch up and not doing a fantastic job about it to be honest. It remains to be seen if it ends up like every other molten server with a rush of development and then putting things on auto pilot once stuff works well enough to keep the average person who doesn't know much about WoW or private servers playing.

If you have a lot of free time and are willing to take the gamble of investing 8 days or so into leveling on a 1x Molten server then go for it. Personally I'll be avoiding it until I see some proof that things will be different this time.
