Area to place your signs is right outside of the bonfire.
Put down a RED Soapstone sign and wait to be summoned. DO NOT SPAM YOUR SIGN. This will only guarantee the summons will fail. Place the sign and leave it alone.
If you do NOT have a Red Soapstone Sign, then you can either:
Attempt to invade if you are below level 100.
OR
Place a White/Gold summon sign if you are 100-144.

Feel free to post your name/screenshot if you want confirmation that I see your sign. I try to rotate people in and out.

Okay so first time ever playing a mage in any Souls game, in SoTFS. Been following what a friend told me: Getting 12 strength asap to use the Mace from Lenigrast as well as a decent shield, then:
Getting 2nd Soul Arrow from Hag Merchant, Greater Soul Arrow from the Ballista room in Forest of Fallen Giants, kill Dragonrider and opening up Huntsman's Copse and getting Dark Orb from the Hex seller. He tells me I won't need any other spells until Soul Geyser.

So after that's done, what should I dump my stats into? I was assuming vig/end/vit until comfortable, then slam down on the Int, but I don't know what Hexes scale off

I usually do pure magic damage and the bare minimum stats for the weapon I want to use enchanted with magic paths whichever is best for whichever game. Then I get enough endurance and equip load for whatever gear I want to use, I keep it cloth and rely on dodging is key. I usually go with the highest physical damage reduction shield I can find, in DaS that's the silver knight shield or black shield. If you want a pvp specific mage build it totally depends, but for pve I just go as much intel and attunement as necessary for boss nukes

You can get Soul Spears to shit on bosses with in Huntsman's Copse too. Get 95 Agility through ATN so you have extra iframes when dodging and extra slots to attune more scrolls. you will most likely not need a lot of end or vit as you'll probably want to use the lion mage set for increased casting speed.

Hexes scale off your lowest of either INT or FAI, level them up equally if you want to use hexes. Hexes are slightly stronger than magic but the most powerful hexes cost souls to cast. The most powerful, climax, costs all of your currently held souls to cast.

How should I build for a fun and decent hex user? Having to level both int and fth cost a lot for early game and I'd like to have some decent weapon too, not mentionning ADB to dodge or the stats for a shield or some good armor.

a fun and decent hex build would be a dark sacred chime hammer build. 40 str, 12 dex to one-hand that thing and otherwise just level up int and faith to your hearts content. I have a 800k sm char for co-opping and invading who uses that build, it's pretty fun, although i'd only describe it as "decent".
Adark longsword build is pretty solid, probably the best there is, but that shit gets old real fast in my opinion.

Back in the good old days pre-1.08 calibration, lightning spears were so retardedly broken. 10 casts per scroll and dealth 15-20% more damage. Offensive miracles are pretty much garbage now, but the support miracles are quite useful if you want to help the host while being a sunbro.

Strike damage in general is very strong in PvE. for weapons I would use something light and not requiring much investment into dex. As mentioned, the fire longsword is an extremely solid starting weapon, and even has slightly more damage due to an increased fire bonus from levelling int and fai. Other notable weapons off the top of my head that are fairly easy to obtain include a Varangian Sword available in No Man's Wharf, the zone after Heide's Tower, the Falchion sold by Blacksmith Lenigrast or the long armed fucks in No Man's Wharf drop them . To be perfectly honest, the first weapon you find that has a reasonable dexterity requirement should be sufficient. If you're not confident enough yet to not use a shield, get the strength to one hand the weapon too.

The contrary, when 2 handing a weapon, its strength requirement is halved. This means that your dexterity will more likely be the higher stat compared to strength. A broadsword for example, requires 11 str and 6 dex. If you were to 2 hand it, it now requires 5 str and 6 dex.

This is assuming you want to optimise your stats to autistic heights to make every level count. Playing with no shield and 2 handing your weapon, switching to 1h + staff when you want to cast a spell is possibly the best use of your levels possible. It also encourages you to git gud at rolling and not relying on a shield, as some enemies and bosses wont give a fuck how much stability your shield has

I recently moved into a new apartment and haven't had time enough to get my internet installed (getting it next week). In the meantime, I've noticed my neighbor has Comcast so they have an open Xfinity wifi hotspot behind a paywall. I changed my MAC address and now I can access that connection, and then I use my laptop as a hotspot to access the connection on my phone and xbox.

The issue is, I can't play multiplayer with the hotspot on my xbox. I get bloodstains and messages from other players, and I can access Netflix and so on, but my invasions and summons fail indefinitely. I tried bridging so my devices appear directly on the original connection rather than my pseudo hotspot, but then my devices can't even connect because they're not being assigned IP addresses, and when I do it manually I can't connect to the internet.

I'm not sure what to try next. I think it might have to do with the xfinity connection itself, but I'm not sure what. Also I had multiplayer working for a few hours a week or two ago, but I haven't been able to figure out what I did to get it working.

Do you want to have fun? Make a ultra greatweapon build, grab the Greatsword from No Man's Wharf or the largest weapon you can find and bonk people until there are no more people left to bonk. I found that as long as I didnt minmax to dizzyingly autistic levels, levelled up / upgraded whatever I wanted and used soul vessels to change my stats if I wanted to, I had much more enjoyment that lasted me to NG+4 so far. Take some time out to do some PvP or co-op, write stupid messages everywhere, especially tongue but hole.

Do not worry about it at all, you can always re-allocate your stats with a Soul Vessel, 3 or 4 are found early on in the game for these exact reasons. Don't be worried if you aren't optimizing your character as much as possible, it doesn't make a lot of difference if you're not dedicating that character for PvP.

The handholding is fine, I kinda wished someone had the patience to teach me the ins and outs of the games when I started. I got so mad I couldn't bring myself to play it for like 2 months when I first tried it. I'm writing a guide for co-op because it'll be easier to just send them a link than have to type the shit about soul memory again and again.

Pretty much, you also get a slight health increase levelling every other stat too. You could spend like 3 levels as a cleric to gain 3 more iframes (85->86 agi) but as a bandit you have to invest 9 or so levels before you increase agi by even 1 point as your base ADP and ATN are so shitty. 9 levels is fairly significant at very low / very high SM and I feel if you're confident to still be able to dodge without the extra iframes they're better spent elsewhere.

Now I dont know what the BB dlc added to the lore and story and i only got so far but i know how loose the lore and plot was, dark souls 2 has not even the theme (bloodbrone is taken from H. P. Lovecraft mystery bullshit) but dont get me wrong bloodbrone must of been rushed because the lore and overall idea is a mess (Its a fucking dream in a dream and in a dream again) but basing this off of dark souls 2 and BB will dark souls 3 even have a plot?

I dont get it dark souls HAD a baseline plot you can follow, you had characters explaining the world and what is going on. and then you get the dragon to finally explain your goal. BB has nothing of that and even less this game (dk2) has even less of a over arching plot besides areas that stop, then you go to another area then stop, then another and it seems all you do is collect 4 souls and you beat the final areas.

So what do you think was dark souls 3 rushed or completely made by b team or will it have lore and plot/goal?

Dark Souls 2 was made by the B-team specifically because Miyazaki refused to rush his new Dark Souls (now being made as 3) or Bloodborne out the door before they were ready

it only really has the proportions right. even then, the Crypt Blacksword looks a lot more like the Dragonslayer, it's just a bit shorter than the Dragonslayer. the Crypt Blacksword also has a GREAT 2H moveset (that roll catches most people off guard), relatively ok requirements (probably a bit much as a backup for a hexer, but it's easy to 2H) and massive damage.

Yeah, but I'm not talking planned builds. People pick Greatsword because it's quick and easy, while also being good. Plus the one-handed moveset is good for crowds, which also benefits people who use shields all the time. Greatsword only requires you to kill one boss, Dragonrider, who is obviously the easiest boss in the game

I would be inclined to believe that there are no intermediates between hard iframe increases. The game had a huge problem with durability loss for each frame your weapon was in contact with a monster or ragdoll that caused effectively double expected durability loss on PC vs consoles. DaS2 vanilla iframes, jumps and other various weird shit were tied to framerate so I doubt there are intermediates. I would use http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Agility as it has seemed correct for me.
