You can use NMM or edit your plugins.txt manually for mods. I don't know if this still applies but if you go through the launcher it resets your plugins.txt meaning you have to bypass it with F4 script extender or set it as read only.

So I just finished the game, sided with the Institute for no other reason than why not for my first playthrough. Got the ending and.....that's it? One measly slide showing a couple of locations in the game? Absolutely nothing on Companions, Quests, other factions, etc? How is this not getting as much shit as the ending fiasco from Mass Effect 3? Does anyone else think melee combat sucks?

It feels really unresponsive. Any time I click the left or right mouse button it's a crapshoot whether I'll actually swing my weapon/block or not. If I fight in third-person mode then it's a little more responsive, but it's hard to actually hit anything that way because it's more likely your character will elbow their way past the enemy and deliver a crushing blow to empty air about four feet behind them.

Everyone said that the combat in this game was better than the previous Fallouts, but it still feels as floaty and unevenly responsive as ever. I've lowered the quality settings pretty much across the board in an attempt to combat this, but it didn't do a damn thing.

Am I doing something wrong?

First, remember the basics of CQC: leg sweeps and side slams are essential to defeating your foe in melee, and a kick or shove will allow you to get that necessary space for more CQC if that guy is in your face

Also: power attacks instantly kill foes below their FATALITY THRESHOLD

It would be neat if there were settlement conflicts and wars, sort of like the cut civil war stuff from Skyrim. Gunners, Raiders, etc. would establish and protect settlements, possibly some independent settlements, and you as the Minutemen could fight them off, recruit settlements, etc. Gunners, and Raiders especially, would raid your settlements and you'd have to protect them from actual assaults from other settlements (not just random enemies spawning in the middle of town).

Maybe with mods. Hell, maybe I'll actually get around to learning how to make real mods this time and do it myself.
