Look at it this way. playing with a 16x9 screen that has 11% of the bottom screen covered is like playing with a 16x8screen. Playing with a 16x9 screen that has 11% of the TOP screen covered is the same amount of vision, equivalent to a 16x8 screen.

The only time people say it's trash are upset lorefags and people who couldn't handle Uchiha Sephiroth the Dank Knight tanking their dungoens instead of just playing with friends. Wrath and the patches that came after it were when Blizzard was probably the most active in the history of the games career.

It's really easy to be whiny and cynical when you don't know anything about game cameras.
Look at this screenshot. The camera isn't angled at all. Cloud is moving on a 2D plane that has 3D elements painted on it. If this was a moba screenshot, changing the camera angle wouldn't change anything unless one of the 3D elements obscured something.
The major difference between this screen shot and league is that the 2D plane in league isn't even warped in order to create the illusion of a 3D environment. Instead, they achieve it by covering the entire plane in 3D terrain. The only 3D terrain in league that obscures anything is by the dragon pit, but the collision map on the 2D plane won't let you even hide your feet.
