The mod you're talking about that was recommended to you is Oblivion XP which is pretty good, better than vanilla at least, but imo tends to overreach and tries to do too much.

What's the deal with the Mages Guild? I'm the Arch-Mage of that place. If the guild is causing telvanni trouble, I can change that shit to suit my needs. Eradicating it just takes power and authority away from me, why would I even want to do that. It would also happen to cost me 25k in bribes which I'd much rather spend on my tower and other bribes.

Rebuilding your Bashed Patch should make it automatically detect which ones can be merged.
You should get the OBSE plugin Trifle if you don't have it already btw, it changes the max esp limit of 255 to only 255 ACTIVATED esps instead of just any esp in your load order.

I think Morrowind handles cheesy stuff a bit better than Oblivion and Skyrim because it's usually not possible to accompany it with awful voice acting and most players aren't looking for random sex stuff to go along with it. Hopefully there will be a new generation of console hardware by then...PS4 and XB1 at launch (2013) were nowhere near as technically impressive compared to PC like PS3 and 360 were in their own era (2006)

So if TES 6 targets new consoles, and Beth upgrades their shit, we get a better modding platform and that's 50% of what I care about anymore. They must be feeling pressure to do technical and engine upgrades because there was definitely not a lot of praise for Fallout 4 graphics or animations from any sources. It felt like Skyrim went way above and beyond Oblivion despite being on the same consoles, whereas Fallout 4 goes +1 gen up and what do we get?? God ray, facial animation, spooky smoke?

As for their entire philosophy for Fallout 4, by which I mean further simplification of core RPG gameplay mechanics and dialogue, I think they went the wrong way completely. Nobody spends hundreds of hours playing this games because of the main quest.

Instead of further improving something they were always known to be good at (world), they take something they were always known to be bad at (story) and force all other systems to bow to their attempt to make story better. Fucking two word meme dialogue.

Of course, this makes sense if they prioritize accessibility for new money (new players) instead of keeping their hardcore crowd (1000+ hours people) happy. Masses love cheap shitty simple short stories with memorable characters. Well in any case Todd lost all his goty's to Witcher 3 so I hope this forces him to re-evaluate and try harder their next game.
