Is there like legit difficult endgame content in YW1?

I fought the "hidden boss" Weevil, and at first I was considering giving up when he started one-shotting me Yokais, but then I was hit with a blast of fighting spirited and shouted "I CAN'T GIVE UP NOW!" (actually I just realized if I was going to die I'd get my healing items back anyway). Then I kicked his ass no problem when I started using revives.

Then I kicked the shit out of the red oni in Terror Time. I heard there's a more difficult version of him? I've killed him either two or three times but I have yet to see the fabled black oni.

Infinite inferno is also pretty easy, but I think the difficulty of bosses is just right. They take a while to take down, but honestly I just want ONE instance where the game kicks my ass and I have to go back and rethink my strategy.

I know, this game is made from scrubs, but even Pokemon has battle tower and such. I just want to feel like my team composition actually matters, and I'm not just steamrolling a bunch of helpless gremlins.

Well, even if it is does turn out to all be easy I will give this game one big thumbs up over Pokemon -- your entire team actually matters.. In HGSS I steamrolled the entire game with my Feraligatr. If Pokemon could learn one thing from Yokai, it's that they should probably focus more on multi/double/triple battles. They already have the mechanics, it's just that they're too afraid of changing their focus from 1v1 Pokemon battles.

I look forward to the healthy competition between the two games.

Assuming you have already taken down Wobblewok, there's Blue and Black Oni, though they also have a random chance to spawn once you take out red oni. Blue oni is a pushover if you have a yo-kai that takes less damage to water attacks, but black oni hits crazy hard.

The upgrade kit in that video is usually around 1,500 yen. The cover is just a silicon slip that you put over the main part of the watch and the wristband on the U is removable so you can swap it with the Version E one or whichever upgrade kit you want to buy.

From personal experience, I recommend getting the medals from sites like HLJ. Amiami is even better in general when it comes to merch and (including medals) but you have to be sanic fast because they run out of stuff extremely quick. There is, some youkai can inspirit themselves/their allies with the popularity status, making enemies go for them most of the time. Some others have abilities or soultimates that give them this status effect, like Robonyan for example, his soultimate makes his defenses go up and make enemies target him.

No clue. I can't read moon, and I never run across anything detailing their origins. I only know how to get them in-game. The pig (nebuta) got into an episode in the anime, so I'm sure they're just as popular as any other youkai that isn't jibanyan or the komas.

I hunted those bugs and fish for days
Literal days. Both in game and in real time.
Spent hundreds on bait. Missed more rares than I could count. Developed a pattern to run by every place I knew they would spawn, and in that pattern, I would pass by the spots where the evolved forms should spawn (though they were night only I think)
And in all that time that it took to finally hunt down enough bugs/fish, I never once had their evolved forms even spawn to even try to recruit them normally.

I say have him stay in America, only go to a more urban or city-like setting. I dont know how i'd feel about them changing up the setting for each game unless they can hop back and forth. But Keita being the consistent avatar means it would be odd to have him hopping from place to place unless his Dad's work really justified it. Even then it would be a stretch.

I just really want to see Yokai that are inspired by other cultures now that we know that their not just restricted to Japan. Mexico especially, There is endless potential for Yokai inspired by Mexican and mesoamerican culture. Even if we get America twice in a row, I'll be fine with that seeing as they'll probably not do what I really want to see out of Murican Yokai on the first try (like the Mothman and other western legends and folklore of a similar caliber). But at some point or another wither it be the 5th game or the 10th one I'd like to see them jump from place to place to see what Yokai inhabitant different cultures.

It'd be great if they did a system where they dedicate two games to a single place and then they move on to another area, like the first two games where in Japan, three and four can take place in America and five an six can be someplace new.

I'm surprised there isnt seven boss Yokai exclusive to the Infinite Inferno based on the seven deadly sins, I know it's a christian oriented thing but Japan seems to have a fascination with them.
