I wonder if the arpeggio reward ships are temporary or permanent. Haven't read in much detail the news post, but It doesn't mention either case.
It does seems sketchy that WG would give away free crew-retraining ships so easily.

How the hell are you supposed to deal with Cleveland's in the Konigsberg/Nurnberg? They seem to be able to citadel pen you constantly but you can't do shit to them in return even if they broadside you.

Furutaka's bad only because it's a complete change from the Kuma playstyle. If you've played higher-tier CAs and know that playstyle it's actually not too bad, since its guns are quite powerful and its torpedo arc is quite good for an IJN CA.
Confirming the exp boost in on USA, did not get as much as I would like due to a fairly average game, however it will be interested to see if they roll me back, hopefully not, I like my new boat(s).

You can curse the match up and send a sacrificial squadron in hopes of distracting the opponent long enough to make a successful bombing run.
Or if he's not dominating the airspace well enough, you might be able to find opportunities without needing to take losses.

I hated "Kill X medium tanks in a single battle" missions in WoT for the exact same reason, it makes everyone play like shit, and it drives you nuts when someone else finishes off the guy you've been slicing away for ages.
Dunno, but it took WG over 10 hours to implement the fix and stop people from getting shitloads of XP.

don't forget about the incredibly awful detection range AND a modicum of armor. Which in reality helps BBs pen you instead of overpen. Myoko is so thinly armored it's actually an advantage
I'm literally using my secondaries flags on a Mogami I've specialized to DD hunt.
Secondaries are only useful if you plan on getting up close and personal with DDs; otherwise, they're a waste. If you're a BB who relies on secondaries for DD standoff, you are already dead, and they secondaries don't do much against other BBs, so they're not useful for brawling, either.
the Nagato's and the Izumo/Yamato's get decent enough range that you'll see them go off reasonably often if you're not playing like a bitch, but they're never actually that useful because they can't hit shit even if you're fighting a BB. They'll get a few lucky hits every now and then it's nice in the odd occasion when they do sink a DD or something but they never become a consistent source of damage.

47 battles, 30 cruisers killed, 150 planes killed, 0/30 destroyers killed.
Planes were the easiest, even if it was suffering. As a Zuiho I managed at least 10 plane kills a battle through various shenanigans, while it took like 28 battles to get 30 cruiser kills, despite having an average damage of 78k through 23 battles yesterday.

I would have to grind out credits to rebuy a Myogi, then grind out a Hosho, and Zuiho and then the Ryujo to get a ship that I don't want to play just to complete a mission.

Battleships or cruisers. But with cruisers, you can also do the planes mission.
Jap BB line will get you a Yamato, but desu you'd be better off going down one of the cruiser lines to begin with, as they're the most versatile and aren't as unforgiving of mistakes as BBs or DDs can be.

Everything can be one shot if you fuck it up, but CAs don't punish missing salvos as much or going to the wrong place on the map because they're able to correct mistakes quicker than BBs can.
USN BB's are what I'd recommend. Strong armor and a lot of guns.
They're slow as shit and low wyoming has low range, but new york can reach 18k which is as far as you'll ever need.

No. Statistically all the fires caused by cruisers, DBs and secondaries are only 15% of damage that BBs take during games. Only 25% of damage caused by cruisers to BBs are fires.

In nine out of ten games I've played with this ship I've died in fewer than 10 hits. If a battleship so much as farts in my direction I get hit in the citadel.

Trading in a little bit of maneuverabiltiy for better camo and literally half again the firepower is a complete no-brainer for any IJN destroyer captain that isn't a complete retard.
There's a flag that reduces ramming damage you take. You get it for ramming someone and surviving.
Wow, a whole 0.1km difference with the upgraded Bucky. (And 0.4 better compared to Hatsuharu.) Also, half again the torps and better ones to boot and guns that can actually lay a hurt on an irate yankee or vodka DD on your case or outright fuck up their shit if you play it right.
The speed and turn radius are more than good enough unless you are a completely braindead shitter and are compensated for several dozen times over by the massive firepower advantages.
Not him but I can only see fucking Clevelands everywhere with my Kongo and they seem impossible to citadel or do damage to them without switching to HE. The only time I citadelled one was a 20km vertical shot.
Cleveland has a weird citadel placement. She's got two boiler room, one at the waterline slightly behidn the bridge superstructure and one slightly afore of the rear superstructure. The funnells don't go straight down and the middle of the ship at the waterline has no citadel hitbox. Takes a bit of getting used to - instead of center of mass, you have to aim at roughly 1/3 the ships lenght from the either end.
You have four fucking kilometres of play with the 10km torps. If the speed and turn radius are not good enough for you with that, you're the greatest turboshitter to have ever existed.
yes, if there's a target in range and it's within the gun's field of fire it'll just fire off rounds with no player input
