i can see how this is going to play out
Hmm, I could swear Maya's voice is familiar. Specially the way she says "da zo". Guess I'll check who is the VA.
Her "Shinjirarenai! Shinjirarenai!" makes me diamonds.
>MMXVI Anno Domini of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
>not wanting to lovingly nurture a bromance with a cute bro girl
What, are you gay or something?
Seems like none in the game do. I almost dropped it when I found out. Pretty fucking cruel of the devs, specially after how strongly Sena teases about you putting it in her cute little pink starfish.
What are Len's best moments? When she's eating cake? When she's running around fixing things? When she's relaxing in the park?
>Konosora has an Anal Sex tag strength of 1.1, yet only Ageha has a very brief anal moment in part of a single h-scene
I feel ripped off.
What's the difference between Boob Wars: Big Boobs vs Flat Chests and UltimateBoob Wars!! ~Big Breasts vs Flat Chests~? Is the latter a sequel? VNDB lists it as an alternative, so is it an enhanced version?
So I've been thinking of playing Aselia again and am wondering if it's worth it to get the true route.
Years back, I've tried twice on different but eventually got bored finishing 5 routes at most.
Is the true route really worth it going through all that slogfest again?
So, I'm not particularly interested in Noble Works, but I've been seeing this red-headed "bro" girl being posted here recently. However, she's not on the main cover... is she really not a heroine?
I think I did that but doing the last lab was still a pain as you had to keep going from one corner to the other.
Ah well. Maybe third time's the charm.
Both have different stories and the first has a minigame in it.
The latter is much better.
Short shorts - best clothing on sprites? Can't think of a sprite with shorts shorts that I didn't like.
I remember that's still what I did but since MC and whoever was chosen is the only one viable, it was still pretty shit.
Except the princess route. IO best girl.
Fuck, now I really want to play this again. Hope the sequel is almost finished in translation alst I heard.
Hm? You're talking about the last map of the game right with all the little unlocking crystals and stuff right? I know Takios and Temuorin would drag your full party all the way across the map but I don't think anyone else did.
The others are still great tho. Cant help but feel like you are missing out.
Nah, doubt it. Looks like a generic moege and none of the other characters appeal to me. I wanted that bro-girl character and no-one else. Why must best girl never have a route?
Know of any other similar bro-girl characters?
What the fuck is with old games and needlessly tilting everything?
i'm looking at the first grisaia on vndb. It says an unrated version was released on 08-28. What's the difference between the original 18+ vn and unrated versions?
Has anyone played Eiyuu Senki? The brown grills are one point.
Riho and Kanade are pretty much the only good routes. The other two are quite mediocre.
>start a VN
>halfway through second route
>family comes over for a week
fucking hell what terrible timing. I just want to marathon this till the end.
I can't read VNs if there is any outside noise and the lights aren't out.
I like to get under a blanket with a big cup of earl grey in the dark for maximum comfiness. Anything less is unacceptable.
Gunpowder is much better, it doesn't even need a bit of honey.
I never thought a girl would compete with Usami Bin Laden for a spot as my #1. After finishing her route, I need to go to bed and think some things over.
In Grisaia of Memes, is the area of Sakaki's flashback/story as a child and about her
little brotherin the common route? Feels like I'm in her route when I could have sworn I picked Sachi's route.
Had me for a second. You're funny, anon.
Is this https://vndb.org/v979 any fun or should I not?
>You teach a cool lesbian the power of penis
Well that sounds nice. Guess I'll try it out but yeah the art does seem pretty bad.
Though I'm used to bad MCs already so I doubt I'll mind that very much.
Well, that's cool. Meant more that I don't like the idea of the chick falling for the MC while he's pretending to be another dude.
As long as there's no cliche drama involving "Oh no! You weren't him all along! I can't love you anymore", as most interpretations of this kind of story go, then I'm all good I guess.
That's nothing. I have a massive backlog for not only VNs, but also animu, mango, LN, books, k/jdramas and later TV series/movies for when I get bored of weeb media (lol). Doesn't help that I also watch like 8 airing anime every season and post on 4chan 16 hours a day.
>tfw revisiting MLA
I'm guessing that's that kouhai chick.
Anyways, the game is light enough so I guess I'll continue.
I just hope there isn't too much drama when the MC reveals he's not Shuri.
Oh thank god.
If you mean because of the identity stuff, then Imight as well do hers first to get it over with.
As there's no true route, I think, there's no recc route order right?
I did Akari, Sena, Shizuru, Maya, Hinata. They're all basically okay apart from Shizuru.
And there actually is identity drama in the latter three routes but it's over pretty quickly in all of them.
There's a certain battle that usually gets me but most of the time you could just wing it. You can skip battles in subsequent playthings anyways if I could recall.
>That pain of getting the harem route and having to watch that damn ending scene that can't be skipped.
I used the exact same formation for every single battle and this strategy only failed me on what was one of the last two or three battles of the game. Then I went back to spamming the same formation.
Just finished Hina's route, it did absolutely nothing for me. Maybe I'm just burnt out on vns at the moment but everything about it I felt like I'd seen before and better done. It had nothing of interest, the conflict was a copy of Shizuru's route, the ending was a copy of Akari's route and even Hinata was a pretty standard kohai type.
Hopefully Maya's will be better.
I know, but that just makes me want to see moege that actually has some substance.
>moege that actually has some substance
>moege with substance
That's directly contradictory to the entire genre, you imbecile. It's an art form that depends on base physical attributes rather than any higher meaning. It's like porn of the visual novel industry; A plumber comes to clean your pipes, wink win.
The problem with Moege is the self-inserting people after the porn.
Thanks to that you can't have Cute Girls Doing Cute things, so all-ages would make moege better.
Hinata is fucking boring.
>contradictory to the entire genre
Why though? Why settle for bland, emotionally manipulative garbage when you could have a story that earns it's emotional moments through plot and characterisation?
>It's an art form that depends on base physical attributes rather than any higher meaning.
The ideas of base physical attributes and higher meaning are not mutually exclusive. Shit almost all good film is built on the idea of understanding the audience's instinctive expectations and using camera work to mange them.
The Lego Movie is a fucking great film, both as a piece of distraction and a piece of art because of how it mixes it's higher meaning(what it means to create) in with it's more base visceral parts (it's comedy/action).
>porn of the visual novel industry
that's called nukige
>A plumber comes to clean your pipes
Look man, the issue I have with shitty moege isn't that it's light-hearted and cutesy. It's that uses it's cuteness to try to cover up the fact that it has no emotional or thematic core. Whether or not the story is designed to make you feel good or not, an actual story will heighten the experience.
Look, cuteness *is* the substance of the genre, not story. You might find something with some of that character development and emotional rollercoaster in the genre, but that's like looking for Kafka in the erotic literature section.
Yeah moe is the substance of moege, but it's still a story. I'm not looking for a transcendent experience I just want the genre to stop being quite so dull.
Lately I think it's CCC's, but I haven't listened to them all in a row in a while.
Hence the (You)s I got.
honestly i spent half of the time reading Noble Works making memes
It feels good to have inspired the creation of OC
>People seriously think image macros are memes now
What a time to live in.
Well I think the idea of an image macro has become somewhat of a meme, in that there's a standard layout that's proliferated.
I have over 400 in the backlog and I'm playing one at a time.
Here's how her route goes.
>they become boyfriend/girlfriend
>oh wait, all we're doing is having sex, lets break up
>oh wait, now that we're not having sex lets get back together
>sure, oh but i'm leaving for another country lol
Wasn't it generally accepted that Miyako's route was the worst? You can't get any lower that hers. Closest is probably Chris's route. Her route's drama was ridiculously dragged on, but it's still better than Miyako's.
At least it me made realize that there's no point to keep the story going when the protag is finally dating the heroine.
I can't believe the whole "hurr its not about the destination but da journey!!!" argument is actually true.
cripple dating simulatorthe only actually good route was Lilly, and that's only because it continued on for a while rather than just hitting a brick wall made of "WELP YOU ARE DATING GAME OVER"
I think there's a word to describe someone like you.
But it literally embodies true love.
>girl your dating is fucking another man
>every night she comes back to you
Her heart already belongs to you, if that's not true love then I don't know what is.
Do normies actually fap less than 3 times a week?
It's average. I can't speak for others but I found MC generic as fuck. And all the better girls are stuck in a fandisc. I only managed to do Ritsuko's route before losing interest.
Well what Fate has done is sorta what Citizen Kane has done which was redefined what VNs (Movies) could really do, comparing this to other mainstream oldies like Clannad, Ever 17, or even those of the floppy disc era. At least for the western or english land. Tsukihime probably did this for Japan unless there's an older more acknowledged one I can't think of.
It's also a classic that still somewhat holds up till now.
Also, both have that spoiler shit that everyone knows Redman and Sled.
Not sure why'd you say Clockwork Orange though.
Because Kubrick's films revolutionized films in a more subtle way than Citizen Kane, not because they were worse or less inventive but because by that point it was already a much more developed medium.
Fate is already a lot like Tsukihime, so its innovations were smaller.
You could replace Kubrick with Tarkovsky.
Kohaku poisoned Shiki and he goes mad and rapes her.
Her plan backfired, and she deserved worse still.
Does anyone have that comparison picture with the starting bits of FSN, with the original, Takajun translation, and some random /a/non's translation?
I'm starting on vita version of realta nua and I'm really appreciating his writing here.
I could get behind that. I mainly meant the great use of effects but I guess it was more it was already somewhat there in Tsukihime.
On that note, Muvluv is probably VN's equivalent of Hitchcock.
I don't know what you mean by translated but Sure.
Muv Luv is sorta like..Star Wars, I guess. It's not really a masterpiece of the medium, at most an 8. But it's pretty popular and people hype it up a lot..
Hey, Muvluv's pretty good. I liked it enough to go through all routes. I could even say I liked more of Extra than Alt. It's just that it's overhyped but that doesn't mean it's good.
I can't really say I like any VN more than another. VN's, for me, are better judged for the experience the give you. I could say I liked something like Devin on a G-String more than Muv Luv as it gave me a better experience, but I wouldn't say it's better.
I think it's just cause it took me weeks to finish Extra and Unlimited which was exhausting to read through and for Alternative, I read all of it in one go, and, while the ending was great, all i remember from the ride was exhaustion.
I dunnow man. At the start at least it was fun and stuff...the first time through. The routes are pure shit though but I was drawn in to that wacky crazy highschool life which was why I loved the epilogue of Alternative so much.
Not a fan of Sumika though. She's just okay for me.
I think Unlimited just went down for me because I read the manga before hand.
You like Muv-Luv for all the wrong reasons.
*It's as good as everyone hypes it up to be.
There. I mean, I thought that would be implied and easy to understand, though?
Actually, I don't. it just sorta stopped being fun for a long time. Couldn't even get past that much of Majikoi when it was still 90~ done.
Just here to see if anything interesting has popped up.
What that cunt said.
Extra was awful and cringey, but established the nakige part. Unlimited established the setting and began the wild ride. Then Alternative kicks you in the balls and makes you watch as all of your friends die one by one, then makes you go back to the cringe fest of Extra.
But you got Sumika being a cunt right.
Not from Reddit, but ironically, I started getting into VN's through Fakku, which I know people hate as much nowadays.
They had this recomended list of VNs with the big 3 being F/SN, Clannad, and Ever 17. It had megaupload links and everything.
Obviously everyone has different experiences with vns just like with every form of media.
Muv Luv is considered good by a lot of people and they hype it up because compared to a lot of things that they've read it is just better. Of course that doesn't mean it's gonna be that great for everyone, but for me personally it lived up to the hype 100%. It was a great ride and I had read a good amount of vns before going in.
I marathoned the entire series as well and just wanted more of that universe and setting.
>Finish visual novel
>Decide to do other routes as well
>After few minutes I realise it will be like cheating on my first girl and feel bad
What do you think about Shiki and Shirou?
Their beliefs, the way they live their lives, etc.
Yes, but would die after from having overused his eyes to destroy Shirou's projections.
Ryougi Shiki vs Shirou would be interesting, because she probably wouldn't die from killing Shirou's projections, but she is also much slower than Tohno, so I think she would simply lose to Shirou.
If you don't know at least that much about the Nasuverse you don't belong here.
That much is basic knowledge from the source materials and Nasu's answers.
Whatever nerd, I read it then ditched it. Sure the experience was fun, but like I give a fuck about the mechanics of some shitty fantasy world thought up by some slant eyed cuck.
If you actually do, then you should probably kill yourself.
>your favorite girl has the absolute worst route
But then what does them being 'killed' like Type-Saturn count as? I know that Type-Moon specifically can't die, because Shiki specifically says that MEoDP doesn't work on it, but what about the rest?
They can be harmed and "destroyed", but it might be something like killing Roa's host.
There are no details of how it works exactly.
Notes really is good and very different. It's such a strange combination of a story and a material book, with every page having both novel writing and encyclopedic definitions of the world's history and magic terms as they show up.
Somehow it works, and I would like more like it.
16 erogedownload parts?
Better rev up those captchas.
Neon x Tesla is the best pairing in visual novels.
Name pairings that are almost as good as them.
It's by Nasu, so it's automatically kami-whatever.
One of the movies doesn't adapt the novel very well (it skips things like teenage prostitution), but the rest are very good.
It also has the most in-depth talk about Origins.
Scaji can't because if he did then the literary world would tear his pretentious pseudo intellectual bullshit to shreds, and then the cult of moogy wouldn't be able to circlejerk about how deep his stuff is anymore.
I feel with you bro. I had to change apartment for 1 month (I will move to completely new house I build with my family in february) and I have to live with shit internet. I feel it´s kinda waste to change it for such short time
Whenever I'm reading a VN, I have something in my life. I know that when I get home I have a long story to read, one I've been with for a while. One that will remain with me. It defines stages of your life. You look back and think "oh, when that happened I was reading Clannad".
Whenever I finish one it's as if I've lost something. Like a close friend has left me. I can reread and hang out with the characters more but it is no longer the same. Our time together has reached it's end. The glow of the first time has left the visual novel.
I normally try to find one as soon as possible. Without a VN I am adrift among the sea of meaningless empty days.
>It defines stages of your life
Not for me, I hardly remember when I read any VN, if it weren't for the dates in these file names I'd have no clue when I read them. Usually it's a shock, like, "woah man, I read that THREE months ago? What the fuck am I doing with my life?" or something like that. Heck, I certainly don't remember things that happen in general, I know I read this in May, for example, but what happened in May? I have no god-damn idea. Nothing ever happens here.
I don't feel loss because I can constantly think about VNs like Fate and Tsukihime.
It's like rereading it in my mind every day, so they never feel like part of the past.
