first for Artorias
since i got into that whole backstabbing argument, i didnt realize no one answered my question here
is raime's set the best artorias set? or is there a different glove/leggings? cuz it looks pretty damn spot on
thanks, so sadly i cant get the pryo hand till the fucking pirate ship even though i bought some of the spells. are the basic magic int attacks easy or harder than normal builds? since im gonna be buffing str and dex now , once i can use a estoc, go back to leveling int and vit and spell slots? Also i got a old whip from the crows, but it needs 20 fucking dex, skip it?
>be a big noob with a Uchigatana
>invade someone as a blue in the forest
>he gold pine resin
>I attack and miss
>he stunlocks me for my entire health bar with his buffed sword and I die
>he emotes and walks away
>still try to get invasions in the forest
>invade again as a blue
>it's the same guy
>he gold pine resin again
>this time, I gold pine resin too
>we run at each other and he attacks first
>he misses his attack
>I stunlock him for his entire health bar with my buffed Uchigatana and he dies
>I emote and walk away
Woman ahead therefore try confidence
i just got to Aldia's Keep
I've got the jesters hat and CGSR+1
is there any reason to NOT kill all these kobolds until they despawn and just wrack up rare loot? i got two black knight weps my first time through
i mean, besides SM but i dont care about that anyway
If you really care about all their drops just join the Covenant of Champions to keep them respawning infinitely. Otherwise just kill them til they despawn and deal with whatever drops you get then to save time.
The soul arrows will hit harder for must of the early game save for enemies weak to blunt or thrust. Yes but don't neglect adp if you can't time your rolls correctly. Old whip is not worth the 20 dex. You can always respec with a soul vessel though
adp that important? I haven't boosted my end ethier, should i be? im seriously fucking stuck with this int build so far. and nobody is using summoning stone by the bastal or whatever and hades.
>Try out a dex build
>Forest of Fallen Giants
>Playing naked, powerstancing a Rapier with a Scimitar
>Be white phantoming a friend
>He gets invaded by a red spirit memelord with a katana and what looks like the Catarina helmet
>Tell my friend to hide by the bonfire
>Run up to him
>He attacks me, I parry and punish
>He brings up a buckler and starts circlestrafing me with block up
>Parry him once again when he thinks he's at my back, punish
>Then he keeps circlestrafing me while trying to l2 everytime I face him
These people exist.
It makes you appear as a white phantom when you wear it.
So if you and a co-op buddy have the same character name and you wear the white ring while he wears the Ring of the Living from the Ivory King DLC when you get invaded, your friend will appear to be the host and confuse the invader.
at around 2:32
Later on the red gets backstabbed by the host. I'd say the game decides which animation is played purely based on time and distance.
Like, if you stay right behind them AND they don't move away when you attempt a backstab, you will land a BS. If they're moving away from you, you get the failed BS animation which still does normal damage if it hits but won't initiate a BS.
pretending to be a friendly invader and ruining the kind trust of others
>wear hollow rags and a silly hat
>stockpile tons of warmth casts and maybe caressing prayer for poison
>equip two round shitty shields, like footsoldiers
>wave and spam l1 r1 l1 r1 l1 r1 to look like a fool
>never lock on to the host
>once trust is acquired, head on, don't give up just if he takes a few swings
>equip a torch if it's a dark area
>set up warmths any time host takes damage, run face first into poison pots and caressing prayer
>use friendly gestures any time host does something indicating progress
>when the host reaches the fog gate, either climax them, backstab them with a curved dragon greatsword / elemental lost sinner's sword, wrath of the gods, etc
In DS2 I'm using a MLGS as my main weapon. Stopping at 50int.
Was thinking of using an enchanted Falchion as a backup. Would that be a good idea for people who have higher magic resistance?
I'm not 100% sure how enchanted works.
Were you only looking at your AR on the infusion panel? This is why you saw raw as higher as this panel does not add any bonus AR from scaling.
Blue flame has a C in scaling uninfused, I would be very suprised if raw did actually give it better AR than magic.
If you are casting spells with that blue flame, infuse it magic, if you are using it as a weapon and casting with a staff from the other hand, infuse with either enchanted or magic.
The statue to the right drops an elizabeth mushroom and something else I think. If you don't have many branches, don't bother with that one.
However, the one on the left is REALLY important to unpetrify. He drops 2 bonfires ascetics and he respawns when you ascetic the area (so, infinite ascetics for you).
The ogre has a unique acolyte helmet I believe.
Nah, character panel. Was like 14 points higher. Why they did pre scalig totals on that screen is bullshit.
I did not test the spell strength on them. I use them powerstanced for jollies, so i might just infuse one magic and see how they compare.
To be more precise, the guy on the right drops an elizabeth mushroom and a petrified something. Again, if you ascetic the area over and over, you can farm petrified somethings and elizabeth mushrooms.
You can also use a bonfire ascetic in the next area right before the boss to respawn a mimic that drops fragrant branches of yore, so you never have to worry about using them or not.
I'm a phantom, so I don't summon anyone~
look at this shit
he avoids a backstab by KICKING
I have a Life ring +3, chloranthy +2, blades +2, and third dragon ring
which 2 should i ditch for the agape ring and ring of the living? i was thinking life ring and third dragon
How do you guys stop your palms from sweating?
I'm like 300+ hours and I can't stop it from happening.
No, I'm not fat.
That's pretty fucked. I do dislike how the scaling letters are totally unrelatable between weapons so you can never get a firm idea of the bonus AR you're going to get. Pic is related.
I'd actually drop the life and chloranthy ring. Third dragon is basically a combined life and chloranthy ring (bonus hp and equip weight) with added stamina and you're not using flynn's so there's no need to worry about a large equip load
I'm kinda new here, but I don't have a question about the game itself. It's more about the fanbase.
Why are there so few lewds of Sieglinde and Quelaag? Not necessarily together, mind you. This isn't a request as I know how to work boorus. It's just odd knowing that I'm more depraved than a lot of fanartists out there.
Then what's your equip load like? Weapon? Chloranthy is pretty useless with low equip load. Life ring + Third Dragon multiply each other, so they stack up nicely, so depending on your weapon (if it's a quick one or a slow but hard hitting one), I'd drop RoB.
That's an SotFS thing.
For some reason, the spear soldiers on the tree after the Pursuer always drop down and run the entire area just to go attack another tree.
Going for blueblood sword is pretty fun but holy shit I'm still on starting vitality and endurance
Why I'm having much better time with DeS than first DaS?
Incoming autism showing you why that's a poor example:
S scaling dex weapons such as ricard's rapier and blacksteel katana actually have 50% of their total scaling when unupgraded as compared to +10 / +5.
This is unique, everything else only has 5% less of their total scaling when unupgraded, including other DEX weapons.
A blacksmith hammer +10 has 55% STR scaling.
A blacksmith hammer +0 has 50% STR scaling, as shown from +70 AR with 140 STR ATK.
A bewitched alonne sword +5 has 95% DEX scaling.
A bewitched alonne sword +0 has 40% DEX scaling, as shown from +56 AR with 140 DEX atk.
Alonne Sword is a little lower since boss weapons with innate elemental damage (including status effects) have strange modifiers.
It must be it. Also I love just jumping between levels, makes things less stale
I can't believe I actually had fun going through Valley of Defilement, it's the worst shithole From ever did.
>kill the two Heide Knights at the first bonfire so many times they stop spawning
>no sword, no nothing
World 5 is good BECAUSE it's such a shithole. The feeling of finally picking my way through that dark, dark place and walking in on the contrast of Astraea and Garl was just something else.
>The beginning levels of DeS are fucking godtier
>Tower of getting lost while key searching
>Valley of Gangbangs and 0 startup frame fire pokers
4-1 is good and it's pretty much the only good -1
The point of the image was to show that purely using the letters alone to compare scaling between weapons is not viable. Thanks for the more detailed info though, that's useful to know
>These things happening to you
>B o B rank 3 here, sentinels rank 2 (never find anyone)
Why do you guys get this way? It's such an easy cruise game. Even if you aren't good, you win some and some you don't. Just have fun.
Serious though what makes you get this way?
bone man are you planning another Dark Souls 1 FC?
I run my hands under hot water for like 30-45 seconds
Everytime I do it i think about people who have no water at all while I'm using about 20 glassfulls so I can play videogames slightly more comfortably
world is wack
According to http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Summon+Range+Calculator that's too low, it seems
Thanks for offering, anyways. Unless you'll could wait for me to get 90k more souls?
How do I become a better sunbro in DS1 ? I've been summoned 3 times now in the church area on the run up to the bell gargoyles, and twice my summoner has gotten their shit pushed by the undead just before the ladders. Am trying, but a zweihander can only hit so many at a time.
Provided your STR is high enough (40 range), you can use pretty much any STR weapon and simply slap Sunlight Blade on top of it and you'll be dishing out damage. Don't even need to infuse it with lightning.
If you really like straight swords, you can try the Drakekeeper's sword. If you want something kind of purpose-made for a STR/FAI build, there's always the Defender's Greatsword. Got nerfed pretty hard, but it's still strong as hell.
>Seriously though what makes you get this way?
Honestly, my palms sweat often and I'm not sure why most of the time. Anytime its warm temperature or its a public setting or I'm hanging out with >friends. It's probably an anxiety trigger in my brain or something and not as much of a big deal as I'm making it out to be.
Oh, really? I was kidding, 90k souls is pretty much all the souls I've got up to this point. But I mean, sure, that'd be super cool.
I've only beaten Last Giant and Pursuer on this character. I wanted my sword, so I started farming pretty much as soon as I got to Heide's.
Oh, neato. I'll get right to it then.
After all this time I still shivers of excitement whenever I'm invaded. Even if the invader doesn't turn out to be too challenging, I'm still all super hyped up after the fight.
If you can make it there, the Dragonrider is a fairly easy boss.
Also, if you've already beaten the Pursuer, go hang out in his eagle's nest to get to Lost Bastille. If you go to the left and take out the demon dogs/crossbow guy, there's a chest with a Covetous Silver Serpent Ring inside.
anyone pick up scholar from the steam sale?
i got it for christmas, already beat vanilla DS2 in 2014 and never experienced the DLCs
just beat Nashandra and i'm genuinely enjoying myself when it comes to the DLC areas and changes to enemy placement, i think some of the hitboxes were fixed too
So, my friend bought DS2:SotFS. He is a souls noob. We were playing through the game, and he really liked it.
Here's the thing.
Half the time he is on one PC, and half another PC.
So, does that mean we are fucked?
Should I just buy him ds1 and abandon DS2?
(I have played it many times, hes never touched a souls game)
My first death of 2016 and I am fucking ashamed.
Still upset I missed that
PvP in oolacile is pretty active still
there's a couple regulars you'll see 3-9 times a day depending on how much you play, but there's enough variety to keep playing. Not to mention that the regulars usually use 2-3 characters.
Yo I want to do some gimmick builds for DaS2, but don't want to run through all the bullshit to get there for the 12th time, do using trainers for PC on offline for infinite stam/health cause a softban?
From what I read shit like that is safe as long as you don't fuck with SM/SL/Attributes but I'm wondering if anyone here has a definite answer.
The DaS2 saves are held in the appsdata folder on windows, just get a tiny usb stick or something. Pretty sure its safe as far as softbans because I've never run into any problems when farming Painting Guardian clothing for fashion souls.
Hey goys, I played the shit out of ds1 and ds2 on my
xbawks 360 and the disc drive finally shit the bed. I have a ps4 now and scholar of the first sin is on sale for $20. Should I do it? Kind of bored of Metro and bloodborne
>I've not played SotFS before - is that big dragon over the other side worth fucking with at this point?
Walk slightly onto the stairs to agro the spear knight, he takes some time to get up don't worry if it's not instant kill the spear guy go all the way up the stairs while sticking to the right side.
Sprint towards the dragon, as long as you don't have like 6 END you will make it under him while he is waking up and before he breaths fire
Post monsters that scared you when you first started
and still scare you
>introduce SM to prevent people from fucking low levels with late gane gear
>add agape ring anyway
>get agape ring
>kill Iron King
>get +7 scythe in Brume tower
>completely destroy people in Fotfg
I whooped my way through Aldia's Keep, 2 of the Forlorn, both Ogres (though that second one that burst through the wall, I forgot the timing, and it nearly gave me a heart attack) and then the Guardian Dragon but FUCKING FENCER SHARRON
Ive co-oped DS1 with several people in the last year, what's the issue there?
And having 2 chars would work, but doing everything twice on your first playthrough might seem a bit stale.
>load up DS1 today
>spend 4 hours with 0 nodes no matter what i do
>after trying fucking everything suddenly i load the game up one more time and get nodes
>this happens right when i have to leave though
>come back later
>cant get nodes again
Okay, please refer to my posts here
I just decided to put 5 points into Attunement because fuck it
And it gave me a nice round 1400 health which i like
What spell would Artorias have?
I don't really get the whole "spiders scare me, even if they're dead or virtual"
I'm not saying your fear isn't real or even unfounded, but it just confuses me how common that same fear is.
Fair enough. I'm gonna purchase it. What should I do for my first build? I've done strength, dex, faith, magic and hexes. Last build I did was pursuers great sword and no armor.
>playing DaS2 for the first time
>kill the skeleton reaper bitch boss
What the fuck I didn't even realize she was the final fucking boss there was no fucking build up to whoever the fuck that was being the last boss whatsoever.
Started up Fight Club thread here:
Dark Souls 1 Fight Club on PC starting soon. Get your game loaded up now so you can build nodes.
PC, my region is US but this shouldn't matter.
In Undead Burg.
Area to place your signs is right outside of the bonfire.
Put down a RED Soapstone sign and wait to be summoned. DO NOT SPAM YOUR SIGN. This will only guarantee the summons will fail. Place the sign and leave it alone.
If you do NOT have a Red Soapstone Sign, then you can either:
Attempt to invade if you are below level 100.
Place a White/Gold summon sign if you are 100-144.
Feel free to post your name/screenshot if you want confirmation that I see your sign. I try to rotate people in and out.
I will be starting up in about 15 minutes or so. This gives you plenty of time to load your game and build nodes.
Moon Guardian here.
Running low on Humanities, due to last night's FC, so I'm on the way to the DLC to farm. I just killed the kings and now I need to get to Duke's. Will take a bit, but I'll be there later!
SoTFS, what should I spend my boss souls on? Are Twinblades any good? (Yeah I just encountered Straid and I don't know what to get, I've got Last Giant, Flexile Sentry, Pursuer and Dragonrider souls)
Just started playing Dark Souls 2 for the first time
Is it just me or does the game suddenly get marginally better in the latter half of the game after you get the 4 great souls?
So far the Mirror Knight is the only memorable boss I've faced
Twinblades are bad, but fun. They have shit range, no hyper armor, huge unsafe windows if you wiff and ultra weapon tier startup times. That being said, they can combo for massive damage.
>kill one more knight while I'm waiting
>it drops the sword
Is this even
Well, um, thanks anyhow. Farming souls got m the sword so it all worked out I guess?
I just beat the 3 castle long knight bosses with a team, and im now by a bonefire with a stoned person, where do you get the branch? I used the other on the pryomancer, was i meant not too? also whats in that cloud area afterwards , another boss..?
>I just beat the 3 castle long knight bosses with a team, and im now by a bonefire with a stoned person, where do you get the branch?
Just ask him for some dude, I'm sure he'd share.
Hey there fellas. Can I get some help?
I'm in the need of these weapons to complete Knight's Honor:
* Moonlight Greatsword (Seath's tail)
* Great Lord Greatsword (Gwyn's soul)
* Greatshield of Artorias (Sif's soul)
My main gripe would be Seath tail cut. I've tried in 2 playthroughs, and god almighty what a pain in the ass to do. The other 2, well... yeah, you're right if think I'm getting lazy.
Anyway, I got materials and other weapons and stuff to give out. Add me on Steam. My id is
What? please where do you get another destoned person item?
the fucking third stoned person blocking a bonfire in Lost Bastille after the 3 bosses, the one bonfire at the top by a long road to another clouded area. please where do you get another item like it? I used the one you buy from the old lady and the one you find in the Lost Bastille early on.
Go across that bridge to the fog gate ("clouded area"). Have a look around, there 's a ladder leading up to a bonfire. Take the elevator down and you'll get to the Lost Sinner boss. Make sure you light uo the room before fighting. Just look it up. After the fight there's a chest with another branch in it
ok but why didnt they give you one before hand for that bonfire? is that stoned person another npc? also how hard is it to get to that next bonfire past the fog gate? is there a lot of people summing for the lost sinners boss?
How much vitality should I spec into on Dark Souls 2 if I'm running a DEX build?
>ok but why didnt they give you one before hand for that bonfire?
Because outside of one stoned person, every branch and petrified people is for optional stuff? Why would they have to give you one?
>also how hard is it to get to that next bonfire past the fog gate?
It's not even a 20 seconds run from that bonfire. There's like 2 dudes in the way.
So I recently got SotFS on the PS3 and it seems like none of the changes that were supposed to be made to the game are here and it's basically vanilla DaS2 with the DLC. What's the deal?
How do I knock down the bridge shortcut in No Man's Wharf?
>Be a shitter
>25 str/25 dex to use most weapons and find what I like
>Fall in love with the rapier, estoc and greatsword
>Pick up the Craftsman's Hammer
>It's better than everything I have at +6, even though it's +0
what the fuck.
Anyone? I'm SL 124.
Unrelated pic of Dickens. Because... dicks.
Anyone on SOTFS PC to lend me a hand? I'm at Sinner's Rise, just went down the elevator, next to Lucatiel of Mirrah's summon sign and before the mini-Flexile Sentry + waterlogged exploding mummy prison thing.
Just got DS2, haven't played DS1 since a few years ago.
Can someone explain to me how Soul Memory and Soul Levels work in regards to pve and pvp? I'm not sure how to go about leveling up since I heard its different. Anything I should know for first and subsequent playthroughs?
Are you guys fucking joking? How could you not tell it was the final boss? There's no fucking difference between the buildup to Nashandra and the buildup to Gwyn. Is this another one of those made up, trivial reasons Dark Souls 2 sucks?
>Can someone explain to me how Soul Memory and Soul Levels work in regards to pve and pvp?
Only SM matters
You can check it in your character tab, every soul earned goes into it and the counter goes up, for a casual playthrough this just translates to "SPEND YOUR SOULS FUCKER"
There is no reason for leaving a bonfire with more souls than it takes to level up/buy/upgrade gear.
Summoning, invading everything works based on SM tiers, they start out as really small (tier 1-2 takes 10k souls) but get REALLY large lategame (tier 32-33 is 250k SM, tier 40->41 is 3 000 000 souls). Everything works off of these tiers and how many tiers up or down you reach, but its mostly backend stuff that you don't need to concern yourself with. There are orange outlines around the areas that are most active in your SM tier meaning highest chance of getting invaded/summoned
Did I do good /dsg/? Did a make a pretty girl?
At first I was trying to make her look like Casca from Berserk, but then I just started doing what I thought looked good. She still sort of looks like Casca I guess. I'm pretty happy with her overall. But then again, I have a huge weakness for brown girls.
>everyone saying the kingdom went to shit after she came
>she started the war with the giants
>vendric literally says she is a shard of Manus
>a peace like the dark came over the land
Did you just ignore all the plot then bitch about how there was no plot?
Because thats dumb
You are dumb
So its not as simple as SL100 or 120 then, bummer. Thanks for the info.
To clarify, for high level PVP, its impossible or difficult to stay in a single tier and everyone is spending their souls, so does everyone end up running around with 99 in everything? That seems like it would be terrible.
So, I should just level up all my stats without worry?
There's an item called the Agape Ring that blocks all incoming soul. You can use that to maintain your SM.
You can also respec in the game using an item called Soul Vessel. You get around 10 of them per NG cycle.
Nah there is an item that stops you from gaining souls alltogether
And even if you do decide to only PvP the meta reanges mean that you would have to win nearly a thousand matches to actually start moving too far apart from everyone, because of all the softcaps and shit it really doesn't matter that much.
The final tier in which you might actually find level 800's is at 45+ mil SM, a single playthrough of killing all the bosses and doing all the areas will net you around 5 mil SM.
Levels don't get as absurdly expensive as fast either, so feel free to level shit up, respeccing is a thing so don't worry about wasting stats or whatever
As of SotFS there's a ring that lets you block the ability to gain souls, hence locking your SM. People will usually settle into a point in the meta they're comfortable with and stay there for PvP.
Playing through the vanilla game won't give much indication that Nashandra is the last boss, you have to admit. In hindsight, it makes enough sense that the reaper-like figure at the throne was her, but to say "oh look here comes nashandra" as she enters the throne is taking it a bit far.
Even if enough information is presented to you, look at where the information is presented. It's slipped in right at the middle point of the game. I doubt that it's commonplace for people to recall how that one chick in the painting cursed them as some unknown figure enters the room.
I'll give it to those saying that the 3 crowns DLC explains everything (since scholar makes it one game now), but the standard game did jack shit in that department.
I I got the Dark Soul achievement in SotFS back in September and I haven't played since. And still 4 months until Dark Souls 3.
Seriously, where are the similar action games? The only one I've found is Lords of the Fallen. Considering how popular the Souls games are, you'd think people would be all over that genre now.
What is the purpose of Raw upgrade in Dark Souls 1? It decreases the scaling AND the strength of the weapon.
You pretty much have to actively go out of your way to try and ignore the plot if you don't get that nasharda is the big bad.
>go find the king
>well shid the castle is empty
>the queen was a bitch
>the queen got these giants to invade us
>well fuck the giants are fucking our shit up this is all the queens fault
>look a giant painting of a the queen that curses
>"The kingdom doesn't need 2 rulers"
>Why is the queen in the castle and the king isn't?
>why is the kings soul locked away behind a door that only a human can open?
>where are there all these assholes guarding the way to the king
>why is the queen not with the king why are there all these assholes cockblocking the queen from seeing the king
Well FC host, if you summon him again by chance, BC him out, nobody has time for that casual shit.
One of the few things DS2 did right over 1 was the portrayal of hollowing. It was always kind of odd how people would just be fine fine fine fine boom hollow and thats the end of it. In 2 it was a slow and steady decline into hollowing while losing their mind and motivation in life
Sounds like the Agape ring encourages twinking at a specific soul bracket then? I guess the penalty being that you have to wear it to stop gaining souls from pvp (assuming thats how it works).
This seems so much more convoluted than simple soul levels. Is DS3 doing the soul memory thing again as well?
Here was a screenshot of my spooky opponent. How does this happen?
It does encourage twinking but it also means that it's a little different, you're now locked into an exact amount of souls if you want to twink, which means you can't go into say, FoFG with super endgame gear, since you'll have had to pick up souls to upgrade anything you want to upgrade.
I never found the miracle lady yet because i didnt do heides, It was far too annoying as a spell caster.
Also im gonna go destone the soul trader guy. Should i trade all my big souls for a item?
also do the two ways take me to the same area? if i dont do heides will i miss the miracle lady?
>also do the two ways take me to the same area? if i dont do heides will i miss the miracle lady?
You can't see the miracle lady without going to Heide's Tower of Flames. Also, you're gonna want to continue into No Man's Wharf since there's a fragrant branch of yore there.
Are there any reliable DaS2 trainers?
They're safe as long as you keep the stats/items within the game's normal limits right?
>tfw won't have a good computer by the time dark Souls 3 comes out
>tfw will probably have to play it on
When you come out from things betwixed (the place where the old ladies were), you head down the path to the fire at majula, if you turn left off that path there will be another cave, going through that will bring you to a little area with a pertified person pulling on a switch and a bunch of door (that have enemies behind), unpetrify that person and then you can open the door they were tying to open (also try not to kill her).
it's a Toshiba Qosmio F750-11N
How common is the drop rate on the lion greataxe in Scholar of the First Sin? I've got Prisoner's head and chest, watchdragon parma and gold serpent ring +1 but haven't seen a single drop in about five or six runs of killing the lion clan warriors.
Explorer hat/Gold snek 2 seems to be the best item discovery for it, and champions for infinite enemy spawns obviously.
I mean its RNG, but after so many farm playthroughs, those two seem to the best, got that whole set in a couple of runs.
I know I'm just replying to full on shitpost but are you seriously trying to tell me the game that can't even run at 60fps without outside modification is more performance optimised than the one that can?
>summon dragon remnant
>buffs katana and attacks while I'm buff in response
>summon dragon remnant
>attacks me in a lagging flourish as I wave him in
Are there any other generals that have someone so autistically cancerous are them? Someone who seems to have literally dedicated a large portion of their life and free time to shitposting a single thread. I know /fog/ has a few autists that spam shitty screenshots and refuse to stop, but even they aren't quite the level of spam he does. It amazes me he hasn't been banned yet, considering the sheer amount of posts he reaches when he's active, I can only think that none of them care or possibly find it actually funny.
I hate to tell you this anon but if you can't recognise something is objectively better compared to something else you may be mentally underdeveloped. I'm not talking about the quality of the game itself here, I'm purely talking performance.
You wouldn't look at a rusted old car missing a wheel and start screaming that it goes faster than the million dollar sportscar sitting next to it.
Then again you probably read just the first sentence of my post and started typing up another shitpost.
No anon, I'm defending nothing, nor am I praising anything about the game other than the fact that it runs better than the first game. (Although with DSfix that's less of an issue.)
>some of these black phantoms in the dark chasm of old
JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP
who thought it would be nice to have a full havels+dragontooth twat that has AT LEAST 50% less delay between attacks than an actual player using the same weapon
I know it's optional but I've never fought the boss and I kinda want to
Can someone help me farm the last four dragon scales for the dragon armour?
I want it for singleplayer to try it with Lingering Dragoncrest, but the lag in Australia is god awful and solely exists to fuck you and not them.
Weapon irrelevant I will trade a hit for a hit, I dual caestus and even if my hits cause stun, I have to go hit for hit against greatswords.
I'm not degenerate enough to go into spam backstabs like most of these troglodytes when they realize the connection is bad.
Tl;dr: The only thing worse than DS2's lag compensation is the apparently people who accept dragon signs.
Can someone help me farm four scales?
It's no fun for me or them shitting up the PVP with my Australia connection.
Can probably trade something nice?
I did that my first time through. Powerstanced greathammers make short work of the darklurker, resistances be damned.
I'm not looking forward to doing it with my rolly-polly hexer character.
Something like a butcher's cleaver or whatever with the stone ring can stun lock real easy. Even the fat-fuck in havel's. Great hammer just gives you a fuck load of breathing room.
I've been farming these dragon guys for ages and got literally one, getting the first 16 in PVP was easier.
Also, I wouldn't say it's my net, as much as DS2's retarded region settings, it pairs me with people in europe, which is at least 400ms to eachother.
You have to go to every location where you met the Darkdiver at. So if you were at Shaded Woods for example you would need to go to Drangleic and then the gulch for the other two
We could use some more folks at the burg. New Host is 118, if your character is 10+10% either direction of that, get over here!
if you were Qc, i couldnt summon you for some reason. sorry.
Stat wise, the Partizan doesn't seem all that bad. And its moveset seems like most other spears. (Referring to DaS2)
Do people just choose to not use it or...?
I ask because I'm planning a cosplay build with it and I'm curious.
Is there any reason to use spears in general?
If you want small and quick pokes, you can use thrusting swords, some of which have the same range as spears. If you want heavy, YOLO pokes, you can use lances.
Spears are very fun for playing keep away, especially if you go light. In my opinion one of the best ways to get the most out of a spear of my choice is to go Lightning Heide Spear 5+ with Sunlight Blade, Lightning Clutch, Sacred Oath, Flynn Ring and Ring of Blades 2+ and either the Old Leo Ring or the Stone Ring, grab some light as armour (I like to use the red lion warrior chest piece since it lowers fall damage and is light) with this set up you can do loads of both physical and lightning damage, along with being super agile and having a ton of stamina to play with to keep your opponents at where your weapon shines best, mid range. Tease your opponent into attacking out of frustration then punish them.
So what would be the ideal SM for co-oping the major first areas past FoFG? (Heide's, Bastile, Wharf, etc.)
Right around 149K, right? (Down to the 90K bracket)
Or would a bracket or two lower be better?
There really needs to be some kind of balancing with levels where magic users don't need to level up so much more due to the need for Attunement. That's an entire extra stat to need to be raising.
Give me fun unique builds to try for DaS2.
Also give me a trainer/mod to get free mats so I don't have to grind thank you based /dsg/
what is the counter to fucking thrust weapons in DaS2? shit seems way more broken than great scythe/uchi of DaS
Good fights, whoever was in the fight club. Was fun. Hope I didn't roll over and die enough to be entertaining!
Parrying, if it's available to you.
Rolling, a lot. Most thrust weapons have moves that leave the user exposed. Wait for them to get impatient and take the extra thrust. Things to look out for are heavy attacks and excessive light attacks (the shit tracking leads them in a wide circle if you roll and they swing).
Forgot to mention:
If you have 99-100 agl, you shouldn't have a problem backstepping through thrust attacks (you're still facing your opponent, Iframes allow the sword to pass through) and countering without much trouble.
>Got Summoned finally.
>Slaughter the fuck out of enemies for host.
>He gets invaded.
>Demolish the invader for him.
>He sends me home.
I hope the Bell Gargoyles shove their Halberd right up your ass you piece of shit.
Im probably only going to get like 16 atn, maybe get it to a flat 20 because autism.
Im sure theres probably a calculator online somewhere but im on my phone bored at work so Im just thinking up how I want to build a dude.
This is the first time Ive cared enough about a game to consider it at work in a long while ill add, definetly worth the 16 bucks on sale.
just go with whatever you like and have
i suggest getting the claymore or halberd to +10 before going to londo and have good scaling damage if you want it to be easy
Pve stands literally no chance against the build, though, save for Firesage / Quelaag (which would honestly just take longer to kill, and can easily be fixed by replacing the furysword with a katana or any other dex weapon).
Roll super tight to the attacker. Practically collide with them on the side. Their second attack should track, so keep circling around. You should be able to punish or move away at this point, depending on if they have a different move or if you're running a large/small weapon.
Open up a DS2 character builder to test AGL values. The one mentioned in the OP (at mugenmonkey) is the one I like to use.
>Go deep into Shulva
>There's 11 empty chests
>The crystal lizards mock my existence by vanishing right as I slam my large club at the ground
>About to give up on ever finding anything good here
Holy hell this set is /fa/ as fuck
>doing the exploding barrel bullshit wall opening thing
>get it right to the wall
>moving it the final inch into place
Just kill me already Jesus Christ
strength should have an effect on weapon attack speed
strength should increase equip load capacity/reduce stamina used on rolls while above 50% equip capacity
dexterity should have an effect on weapon attack speed
dexterity should reduce stamina used on rolls while below 50% equip capacity
I know it's too late for this to be added to DS3, and I know that From is "ending" the Souls series with DS3, but From should incorporate these ideas in whatever their next Souls-like game is
What's the appeal of these games? I'm a Monster Hunter veteran and every so often I see webm comparisons floating by in /mhg/. From what I've seen, Souls has pretty bad hitboxes on par with 1st and 2nd gen Monster Hunter, and instead of being a test of endurance it's just a matter of hitting something once to kill it (and vica versa).
What is the appeal of Souls? Should I bother with it if I like Monster Hunter?
Hitboxes have their weak points in PvE, but they're pretty solid the vast majority of the time.
FROM hasn't gotten netcoding right yet, so PvP has more shockwave problems, but it's not horrendous (outside of lag).
The game is more forgiving than whoever is feeding you info is letting on. It's also more interesting. Do as >>127206348 said, just watch someone play the game.
Plagueofgripes is preferred by most here
Oney is my favorite (OneyPlays)
Star did one as well, if you're into him
>tripguy from /mhg/
>expecting him to not have a cock jammed down his throat 24/7
>dumbshit's guide to dark souls will never be finished
I had to inform myself of the opinions on the game, because for all I know the "Souls is just casual Monster Hunter" isn't a meme and its players are in fact too bad to play Monster Hunter so they just resort to the casual alternative, while still liking MH more but simply having no choice in the matter.
I don't like the PvP appeal of the game and wasn't planning on trying it out much anyway. Why would PvE only not be enjoyable?
Because all aspects of the game are online/multiplayer implemented. There is no separate single player and multiplayer experience, it's integrated. Playing in an offline environment is essentially gutting the play experience. Think of it like trying to play an MMO offline.
it's not that extreme, but you're indeed losing out on not playing online, even if it's just for the sake of getting invaded once in a while and getting help from actual people
No, I've played both. Dark Souls has its problems but so does MH. It's not some vastly more complex or tightly tuned game. It is pretty solid though and I recommend it, but "Dark Souls is just casual MH" is complete hyperbole.
>no God-Кing Lucifer
>no based Debug-anon
This place has gone hoIIow.
Put your favorite bosses into a red circle, /dsg/.
I told myself that I wouldn't cheese it but I just couldn't fucking do it otherwise.
Ended up going full havels, iron flesh, two handing zwei and clicked away to victory. only used like 2 estus' too.
Somehow I've never thought of using that on NPC invaders.
I like Darkwraiths, because they were badass guys and also servants of based Manus, and they kept 4niggers in their right place (cesspool inside a mountain, standing under Anor-Londo).
yeah, Darkwraiths were actually cool with shitting on 4fags and making it afraid of leaving its cesspit.
Why the fuck can't I preorder yet.
The prestige edition is completely unavailable, and the collector's editions don't ship outside of the UK at all.
Get your shit together Britbongistan.
why is ENB the ultimate fag?
>doing a dark souls video
>fucks something up
>'heh whoa I'm.... I'm wondering if that was a counter'.
>continues to pretend that he's doing some experiment on something that is perfectly documented on one of the wiki's
>'lol for science haha ifls-bros give this video a thumbs up'
>'you know me, I have to test this stuff out to pretend that the initial fuckup wasn't just a fuckup'
That's weird, for me Amazon.com does ship outside the US, but UK doesn't
They don't have the PC collectors tho'.
Don't bother with UK support by the way, you'll just get some fucking Raj or Sanjit.
