Every guild wants one of each tank class in a progression raiding setup (as tanks actually have distinct advantages and disadvantages in TBC) so it's pointless to ask if they can do it as though they were completely replacing warriors in the guild.

Consider Gruul offtanking, for example: It's technically possible for a paladin or a warrior to do it, but druids simply have much greater effective health and in this role aren't handicapped by their crushability, while generating by far the best offthreat while not being hit regularly. Or consider a boss like Felmyst: A paladin could technically solotank the whole encounter (not advisable, but they CAN) while handling all the skeletons without a paladin would require several tanks and would just be a huge pain in the ass in general. And while they don't hit hard and can be dealt with an offspec or an alt, it just makes sense because a geared protadin makes a lot of content so much easier (be it tanking "all the rest" weapons on Kael'thas, tanking Reliquary of Souls P3 or allowing you to drop one tank by solotanking Void Sentinels+spawns on M'uru, not to mention a lot of trash that's actually still relevant in TBC).

Now, there are a few bosses that realistically cannot be maintanked by certain classes. For example, Mother Shahraz has silence that prevents paladins from doing it and druids can't tank Illidan because of Shear. However, some bosses that are typically maintanked by warriors actually might be better done by other classes, but here's the key point: you want to run one of each tank anyway and particularly when compared to ferals who can go cat, warrior tanks have the least contribution when not tanking so they might as well do it and you get the most out of the raid that way.

They have been homogenized to hell and back so it doesn't really matter. There are some things one class would do better than others (for example, warriors mitigate small instances of damage better than other classes tanks to Shield Block and Critical Block, which is useful in tanking Anub'arak adds for example) but there isn't anything that would make you say "damn, if only we had a warrior/pally/DK/feral tank".

Actually, since they do largely the same thing largely the same way and aren't actually needed for any of their unique abilities on any encounter, this sets up a situation where, if you really want to min/max, even quite trivial differences would deem one class "non-viable". This tends to happen in ICC where limitless healer mana and ability to top tanks off in an instant favours effective health in favour of damage mitigation and warriors draw a short stick there and tend to be considered weaker, but does it REALLY matter? No. You can do any of the content with any possible combination of tanks if you want to.

I don't know if it's just because I used to play on shitty servers, but it feels like in my 3 years of absence, private servers have made a lot of progress to script quests. Some quests that I'm going through remind me how anything more complicated than "Kill this, grab these items on this, collect those items on the ground" used to be rarely functional.

I think the general was dead before <wpsg> even. If anything really killed this general it was the Nost release + them making their own thread. Combined with several GD revivals burning people out on every part WOTLK has to offer. And ofcourse Corecraft soon making nobody willing to invest into a tbc server.

<wpsg> only managed to reach 25 because they had people who knew people (this was atleast 5-6 of the active raiders) who would otherwise barely visit this place. Also we had some actual normies from GD like Nezza who were core raiders and don't even know what wpsg is.

If <wpsg> purely had people from the thread only they'd have around 13-14 people and be another 10man guild. So they surely didn't add to the death of this general. It was already dying.
I'm convinced it was <AA> however that put the final nail in the coffin for the few good people we had left. Nobody wants to read entire threads with same bad shitposts for months, little girl anime pictures and posts nothing to do with WoW and their promotion of degeneracy in general, bringing latias into everything over and over again with the furry pictures.

Until Corecraft releases I'm sure not a single guild here will reach stable 25mans without normies. No matter how much a guild posts everyday.

Or well, they DID have a very respectable population at some point but at the end of Ulduar it had dropped to some 1.5k and then it very quickly spiralled out of control and dropped to peaks of 100 when Lich King and ICC hardmodes became available. Either way, they probably believe this is their best shot at reviving the server and it sounds like a sensible plan to me.

And who the fuck complains about 2x experience rates? I'm not stranger to levelling (I've probably levelled two dozen characters on 1x by now, including both pre-Cata retail and private servers), 2x is fine. The pace is such that you don't outlevel zones, you don't level so fast that you don't have enough time to purchase skills, it generally offers an "authentic" feel to levelling, and there's no changes to other rates that actually would affect the game experience (well, besides 2x honor in weekends, but I think it realistically won't be a high-pop server again so that's fine for keeping PvP scene active).

Every time a server releases there's a main guild and some child who throws a fit and forces an apposing faction guild.
The secondary guild is always a failure. I don't know if salty dogs ever took off but before nost got it's own general it was super dead until the fins joined.

With IC and SP, things are in like mobs, quests, npcs, etc, while as vash and TH had zero things in them besides the starting quest npcs, which didn't give anything. Regardless, I've also heard when I spent my time on alant maybe 1-2 years ago, that they also have zero intention of scripting vash at all. But hey, if a zone is blocked out of existence, I guess you can't complain about anything being broken there.

It's not the best server mechanically but it's better than some other shit servers I've played like dalaran. The population is faked but it is really big, ive farmed some vanilla zones and tbc ones and there are people pretty much everywhere still. Not to mention northrend zones clogged with people.
Class mechanics are pretty solid too, worst i know of is the primal furt bug but all you have to so is relog for it to be fixed.
Been having a lot of fun, really interesting playing on a server with progression and a solid NA pop i was sick of dealing with retaded slavs all day and being alone at night
