Because it bears repeating, with alterations
>HD Collection Never?
>PS4/PC/XBOX Port NEVER(?)
>Don't believe the statbars
>YOU CHUCKLEFUCKS LET IT DIE AGAIN
4th for NO iDOL 2016.
So I've been playing through AC5/AC0 again and I wanted to ask anons a question.
When you play through the campaigns, do you use more advanced aircraft to start or do you stick with more robust/modern aircraft for the missions? I've found myself progressing through missions with regular aircraft like the F-16 or F-20 until the end of the game, and then I ramp up to advanced jets like the F-22 or SU-47. I especially do this in AC0 after Excalibur, kind of like I earned a shit ton of money for it and then bought an advanced fighter.
I used everything in Zero until every plane's kill counters had the full set of Pac-Men, ghosts, and pellets. Only real limitation the early stuff has at that point is the limited ammo.
I am rather lost and fucked up in ACI. My planefu seems useless compared to other planes, and the best plane I seem to have is a MIG-1.44 -Sulejmani- that outstats my level five F/A-18F. Is this the point where I just use my MIG and hope for the best? A bit lost honestly, every room I join seems to have either super-Attackers or Fighters that just fuck everything up before I can properly get to a tgt.
Was considering that, but my planefu is sort of terrible with the SW selection. At best it's a LASM launcher.
s-Sorry, F/A-18F, I do love you I really do. Favorite aircraft hands down.
>Get 3 gold boxes in 3 matches
>All 30x tickets
A true ace levels his planefu up until it is no longer useless.
hit that level 10 nigga.
You just have to tough it out until you can develop your things further and git gud. Here's my advice: memorize the maps and develop routes that will get you the sweeter targets. Not just nabbing oranges and reds, but do things like taking SAMs over tanks or AA guns, or literally anything over APCs, whenever possible. Leave the trash for the blood-hungry savages who can't control themselves when it comes to muh score. If you can't kill everything in a cluster, deny the opposition from dominating by taking the good targets, forcing them to split trash with you.
As a disclaimer, I'm not very smart, so I don't want to give the impression that I'm saying this all with full confidence that it will work, but I really do feel that it works for me, so I think it would be worth it for you to attempt doing the same, and if it doesn't work, you can adapt your strategy to work better for you.
Not this anon, but case in point: LACM Tornado.
With enough levels and a decent LACM parts it can dominate the ground, denying 4AGM/SFFS spam by getting red targets way before Doritos and such, and taking care of smaller targets along the way you'll easily score 50k+ in most missions.
>first push of the year
>only 2 fuel, do a double sortie because it's fucking 3am
Oh god, could it be?
FOR FUCKS SAK-
Oh well, it didn't turn out that bad. He's my favorite.
Do the log in rewards change every so often? Looked it up but could not find anything.
And a happy New Year to Aces far and wide. Fly high, fly true.
This is my second day of playing ACI. Please be gentle, Ace!
I guess I'll give that a try. And nice Canadian Hornet.
Thanks Ace, I'll give that a shot. Still very new to the game but enjoying it greatly. Not sure if greatly enough to pay money, but greatly.
Happy new years, from the east coast of America, Aces!
<<We WILL survive!>>
<<"Dead men's words hold no meaning>>
<<They've all gone insane>>
2016Skin for ASF -Happy New Year-, if i actually get the plane, barely hanging by 2670 last I left because I skipped 2 sets of supplied sorties yesterday
also happy new year if you're in the US,
it's been 2016 17 hours ago where the hell have you been?
<<Hard to believe its only been 20 years, huh>>
Happy New Year! May your year be filled with feminine cocks!
>new years notifications includes 4 consumables each of 4 value
>the character 4 in japanese is connected "to die"
>4 in the tarot deck is "lovers"
>Zero was the last exclusive to the Playstation platform from ace combat
>it came out nine years ago
>13 is the death card in tarot
>It's usually associated with rebirth
WHAT DOES IT MEAAAAAAAAAN?
Happy first datalink of 2016, /aceg/!
And because I went looking this up because of this comic, I'll share this here.
See this is why I hang around /acg/, you guys make me interested in history stuff.
Check it out, a C-130 landing on an aircraft carrier. Unassisted. That's pretty tight. God bless those brave crazy bastards of the 1960s.
Buy some more fuel and keep playing, goy.
> tfw just got the 3 million drop AND 5 fuel.
Did someone say smiles?
2016, Year of X-32 AC7 appearance soon
I'm replaying AC6. My 16 years old self didn't realize that at least a good chunk of the missions don't make a lick of sense under a strategic point of view, even for an AC game. Why the fuck would you be allowed to bomb the shit out of a refinery you might as well recapture?
Nobody will take an eraser and redraw the boarders to pre-Ottoman anytime soon.
Compared to an year ago or so? GODLY. Get one of the PCSX2 nightly builds and enable the "align sprite" hack under the video plugin settings. That fixes the black vertical lines in ACZ hardware mode. Software mode got optimized too so you shouldn't have problems in AC04 unless your CPU is shit.
I can vouch for >>127110619. ACZ at 3x native res is fucking glorious. Far away ground textures still misbehave in hardware mode, but nothing that will crash the emulator, or prevent you from completing missions in any way.
I would honestly pay the price of a full game for an offline single-player no-fuel-system version of ACI. 90% of the complaints I've seen about the game relate to either the fuel system stopping players from playing, or other players being shits (which is spurred on by the fuel system to begin with). Besides, imagine how freakishly good
goysomeone would have to be to solo tier IV raids.
What if they increase the max level to 25, and at that level, you can fire four standard missiles at a time, like the original XFA-27 and Night Raven? On top of the ridiculous homing/reload at that level.
>like the original XFA-27 and Night Raven
Firing 4+ missiles at a time was standard fare for all of the non-shit AC3JP aircraft. Not that it mattered though since by the time you get the really good planes the missiles are good only for ground targets/slow flying shit. Maybe cheesing
Dision/Renaif you're really gud but even then you're still better off with the gun.
Still, I don't know how many slots you'd need to have all necessary parts on board to even be able to one-shot most of the targets. 7 would be too small. And still, few minutes? With squads of butterflies to blow? I'm still in doubt.
>english dub AC5
>characters range from "annoying as fuck" to "barely bearable" with few exceptions
>actually pretty nice
>english dub AC0
Also two missions from the piece of shit that AC5 is give a much better feel of combined arms than most of AC6, despite that game being based entirely on it.
I guess that both games did it right. In 5 all was about brotherhood, as you're growing somehow fond of sand island base, kestrel and whole cast of characters. In zero, all you have is your wingman and it plays on it, as we all know. You are mercenaries after all, when in 5 you're just a part of big war machine, of which you're starting to be a central point. 5 is almost an underdog story, while 0 makes your position already established.
>completely missing the point
AC5 has a subpar english dub for the most part and a really good japanese one.
ACZ has an amazing english dub and a mediocre japanese one.
Two missions from AC5 (the one where you sink the Scinfaxi and the one where you have to support ground forces by bombing bunkers) have a better feel of combined arms than most of AC6's missions despite the premise of AC6 being based on combined arms and having a whole nation's struggle as a theme instead of the standard "one man airforce" fare. I wonder how much effort they put into playtesting AC6.
I personally don't think it matters. Zero serves as a sort of prequel to 5, but if you play 5 first lots of the story/missions in Zero will give you "ah ha" moments.
AC5 is super cheese on the story though, so be prepared.
>3P (Lost a player during loading) 1500cst Tokyo
>Last enemy Raptor with 5 seconds remaining
>It's turning forever and our missiles can't hit it from where we are
>It slows down right in front of me, but my missiles haven't finished reloading
>Only have LASMs ready to fire
>Dumbfire them when the Raptor's practically touching my plane
>Tfw they actually hit to kill
>Tfw S rank with half a second remaining
That's some large missile. It kind of amazes me how actual LASMs are huge.
[gg] Macross Delta (Preview Special) - 01 [E4E85FC6].mkv
I can already tell who best girl is.
Coincidentally, also the man who did the Shinden for Ace Combat.
it actually emulates well I recommend playing it if you like macross at all. Playing this game actually got me to watch the original series.
Whats the main difference between robotech and macross? I used to watch robotech as a kid but now when i got back into it i found its base off macross and i cant really find any differences without getting yelled at
Due to contracts on american stations they had to have more episodes of macross and another show they wanted to broadcast then originally wanted. So instead they took 2 other anime series and combined it with macross to make robotech. It had a different plot and was just a mishmash of shows thrown together.
>all these jetshitters
baka desu senpaitachi
A-10, X-29, and B-1 were already taken.
So here's a Tunny instead.
You should go ask /m/, it's fun to see them losing their shit because Harmony Gold shenanigans.
It's basically what >>127138395 said but even worse as HG still has the rights to western releases for absolutely everything Macross-related, even now, so this is the reason we'll never see anything past the original series here while they keep milking Robotech fans with shitty stuff.
Hell, at some point HG tried to get the rights for the name "Macross" in fucking Japan. From the people who created it.
>AMX and Tucano never
Welp, gonna finish galm 2 some other time.
Nicely done Ace. Was that the pre-painted version?
Post AC plamo?
Well, I tried something. I botched the tailstripe and I'm a shit painter anyways but at least I tried.
Reminder that the AC7 superplane will be a
prop piston fighter.
The drawing style certainly seems similar.
I played every AC that isn't an arcade, Xi, Advance and F2P cancer and it's shit in each and every one of them save for AC3 in which while being genuinely good it doesn't even come close to the R-103. Shit speed and sp weapons playing a significant factor.
>I would honestly pay the price of a full game for an offline single-player no-fuel-system version of ACI
Even when the single-player campaign is only 8 missions long which means it's incomplete and left us with major cliffhanger ?
>it had good SP weapons
>on a fucking fighter
SAAMs have no fucking purpose in any of the PS2 AC games and they're only useful in AC6 for splashing Pasternak's drones.
>I get so fucking hyped for AC7
>play through AC4-6
>want to play another AC game
>All I find is Assault Horizon & Assault Horizon Legacy
Life sucks sometimes....
>Tfw I manage to get 2 kills with 1 SAAM in AC5
I didn't know that was even possible back then. I guess the planes were literally overlapping each other for that to happen.
>Stonehedge Red pops up
>Host has changed the mission
Why would you do that
>Tfw 1300cst A-6E can easily keep up with 2000cst Attackers in hard maps
This plane is way, way too good for its base cst.
>its base cst
You realize that most attackers have the same cst, right?
A-6, Tornado, A-10, F-2, Su-24M, and F-117 are all in the same range. That's well over half of the attackers on the standard tree.
>prove that the 47 is shit
>retard tries diverting the argument
As I said, loving every laugh. Also the only thing XM/LAAs are good for is splashing bombers/saving a bit of time, and you'd have to be a complete shitter for needing them.
<<Those who survive a long time in the battlefield start to think they´re invincible. I bet you do too, buddy>>
>Mfw when that was me with the F-14.
>I am the cancer
>got a XFA and 1 mirrion drop week ago
>got Flash 3 days ago
>got 3 mirrion drop yesterday
And I'm not even counting that every time I do daily supplied run I'm finishing with emergency and mvping most of the time.
Hell, RNGeesus is really kind for me lately.
>They didn't repair my PS3 before christmas
>I hae to wait probably until the 9 to even check if it's done
>Still have never dropped a 2 million drop in the two past occasions
It's my destiny to be a poor bastard
I never really had an interest in Ace Combat, but the trailer for the new one tickles my near-future boner.
What do I need to know before going in? I know what the gameplay is like (basically, I'm not well acquainted with the intricacies) but I know fuck all about the story. It takes place on Not-Earth where there's real planes, but fake countries and giant retarded awesome superweapons, right?
I'm interested now because I fucking love planes. Is this a place for a guy who fucking loves planes?
>What do I need to know before going in?
The plots usually range from "way too idealistic and one sided to be taken seriously but at least it has a good presentation" to "this shit is an insult to an abo's intelligence", if you want to get to the actually REALLY good stuff you have to play the one odd out game and get to learning japanese and read the side materials.
Gameplay is simple, it can be pretty much summed up as "one man airforce"/"your whole nation's armed forces' errand boy" versus hordes of ground targets and braindead enemy planes, also stupidly impractical superweapons.
Music is really good in practically all of the installments.
>Is this a place for a guy who fucking loves planes?
Depends on what you want. If you want arcade timekillers with absurd superweapons and shit play AC starting from AC2 (and then proceeding to 04/5/Zero/6/X, play 3JP last) and maybe throw in Secret Weapons Over Normandy and Airforce Delta. If you want something that is an hybrid between arcadeshit and a sim try Aero Elite Combat Academy and Energy Airforce/Over G fighters. If you're interested in actual simulators head over to /wgg/.
>Is this a place for a guy who fucking loves planes?
You came to the wrong hangar. We only like planegirls here.
> Is this a place for a guy who fucking loves planes?
Yes. We're not very technical mind you. This thread is for appreciating the fun of flying and cuteness of planefus.
>Teammate's got MSTM Albireo
>Tfw he groundpounds almost the entire match
Funny, I think that's just the opposite. I thought X2 improved on X in every possible way. The ONLY and I mean ONLY part of that game I didn't like was the 747 mission. Fuck that shit.
>X's missions change based on the order with which you tackle each mission, and on whether or not you play some missions at all
>X2's missions are always the same and it has some of the most asinine mission design in videogame's history
>X's tuning has the potential of radically changing a plane's characteristics
>X2's tuning is more often than not straight upgrades
What the fuck is wrong with you, seriously.
Does MSTM actually inherit the standard missile performance of the appropriate level besides damage, or do I still need to add propulsion to make it fly faster than the speed of molasses?
stuck to my su37 terminator untill i could bought the falken.
Cool, I'll stick around then.
Why can't we have a semi-realistic pseudosim that takes place in the nearish future, where you at least have to worry about stalling and have some sort of knowledge of real aerial combat?
Something like Energy Airforce/Over G taking place in Strangereal or Infinity like earth for more outlandish scenarios would be my ideal air combat game.
I just had an idea.
What about a plane sim that takes place in the upper atmosphere of a gas giant? Parasite fighters with great range and self sufficiency make runs to and from massive permanently flying carriers and combat an enemy that's hopefully more interesting than "the soviets, but again".
it could be anachronistic, with planes looking like tomcats, migs, phantoms, cobras, etc.
when i see impeccably recreated F-22s in the ace combat 7 trailer, i just feel all wrong when they move as they do and fire shitloads of cluster missiles like it's gundam or macross. if it's already set in a pretty fantastical place, ridiculous Gs and T H R U S T V E C T O R I N G will look less unrealistic, because everything's unrealistic.
But enclosed weapons bays are already a thing.
I think you're having that thought because in real life everything would be BVR with AWACS tallying kills.
Sort of like how it is now, just at distances that aren't 1000 feet.
I guess the story could be resource wars on He-3 of the gas giant. And short range combat could be explained with stealth and electromagnetic interference of the planet.
I've also had an idea for a mmo air combat game where the players are AI controlled drone fighters. The AI evolve through combat experience and unlock skills. This handily explains why you can be shot down dozens of times and still get better.
yeah, but the enclosed weapons bays bring about the problem of being a tiny fold-out bed with not nearly as much combined capacity as wing-mounted pylons. and yeah, i'm having that thought because in modern times, stealth trumps all and engagements are all beyond naked eye. even if that wasn't the case, humans can't survive a modern plane's maximum potential for agility.
do some handwavium that makes real life go away, and bring us back to early cold war MIG and chengdu vs F-86 and T-33 shit and rocket barrages. that's actually interesting to do in a game.
I wish Ace Combat had more prototype modifications of existing planes than just Su-47, Su-37 and F-15 S/MTD.
Imagine if you could upgrade your Super Hornet with the technology of the F/A-18 HARV and X-53. Or you could install thrust vectoring to your F-16, getting an F-16 VISTA.
>AI evolve through combat experience
there could be a distinction between the AI that gradually learn and make better and better decisions and simple reactive AIs that would control mass-produced aircraft.
i love using AI as an explanation for respawning. you could have different "loadouts" of X amount of individual planes with their own configurations for the type, with each configuration costing more or less to deploy, eventually either keeping you out of the fight or leaving you only a mass produced piece of shit that's only a danger to equally skilled AI/players if completely ignored (giving it some value for being a nuisance to enemy players, causing them reaction time that might make it easier for an ally to hit them).
>flying fortress falling out of the sky and completely fucking up the surrounding space with downdrafts that stall your plane
>air leviathan plummets through the cloud layers and perforates your plane with debris
>try desperately to pull up as you and your enemies lob rockets and 20mm at each other
this shit sounds pretty cool
>Rival Air Fortresses lob broadside 20mm and rocket volleys at each other.
>The fight ends up in the middle of a storm system.
>You're flying an F-4 through a thundercloud trying to keep track of the enemy who just dove in.
It did, and unlike X where only the fictionals could be modified, every plane in Joint Assault can take custom parts. Problem is, they don't seem to distribute performance equally, so in effect they only increase the gap between shitplanes and non-shitplanes.
>Tfw so sick you're thinking of everything in terms of airplanes
Yeah if it weren't for the crippling headache and the pounding in my ears it'd just be funny.
Challenges are wrapping up soon aces! You better finish them!
Well, it kinda looks like the VF-31
I'd rather say
I'd like it a lot more if it looked more like a Draken than a speedboat.
>A-10 Thunderbolt II
... I think?
Flight High School. It's Korean.
The first few bits
Most of what comes after it.
How many bombs does it take for Belka to shut up about righteous clay?
Is the insignificant principality needing another handout?
You kill Mobius 1 in the 5th mission of Ace Combat 7 and commit suicide over the guilt in mission 22
Do you like shoot a plane that crashes into his retirement home?
No, you go back in time and kill Mobius 1 before the events of Ace Combat 4, thus allowing Erusea to take over all of Usea. Then later you realize what you did and you can't repair the time travel device to stop yourself so you kill yourself.
You play as Pixy and fly for Belka during the game by the way.
-Source: My dad is the head of Bandai Namco
Friendly reminder that Belka uses Kongo-class destroyers
>Final fight of AC7
>It is mutli stage
>Everytime you think it's over a new thing appears
>It's similar to MGS4s final fight, themes switch out from all the major games ending fights
Feels like I haven't gotten a gold box all year!
Would you guys be interested in aceg related streams of things? I've steamed for certain sites before and could do it for the thread. Not RIGHT NOW, but if you guys are interested. Anime/movies/etc. Let me know and I can start preparations for sometime
i find this stuff pretty interesting... it is somehow AC related?
You know that neither one of them could actually fly without Belkan science to back them up, right?
Maybe if they had the best cruiser they would have faired better
it's a shitty game, a shitty anime AND a shitty manga all rolled into one.
The only thing I really like about it are the character designs. Especially the Kongo class and the Mogami class.
No, they'll probably just find the address of the streamer and send a few hitmen that way.
The movies tend to be decent summations, but you miss out on a lot just by watching those.
And I don't remember there being such a movie for Macross 7, which, as much as I couldn't stand it, was still important in the series and worth watching.
The Macross shows, especially the original and 7, are lengthy and need to be watched on your own time. Macross Plus might make for good streaming, though. Everybody seems to like it, you don't really need to watch Macross to get what's going on (though I suppose there are spoilers), and it's what, five 40 minute episodes?
DYRL and SDFM have a lot of differences in story. You can still watch the show fine after watching DYRL. More to it of course, but the movie is pretty good on its own. I usually stream DYRL and the Macross Plus movie when showing people Macross
also more like 12-16 at the rate this is going
Remind me, how are Wings of War and Heroes over the Pacific? Are those one of THOSE games where you can't have regular aircraft controls and instead you're stuck with a control scheme like AC's "novice" mode?
Okay fine, maybe not youthful, but he sure as hell is idealistic. His English VA makes him sound like he's in his early twenties though.
>You will never try Mrs. Lampert's home cooking.
>The quiche is only a memory now.
He's just a family man too tired for that shit. A better example of young idealistic dumbfuck is Cynthia. Eric, Fiona don't count as they're way too aware of what is going on to be considered mere idealists. Keith is a bit more complicated.
It sure is.
Holy fucking shit you fucks. Stop this shipslutposting. Post ace combat 7 predictions instead
The multiplayer will be a PS4 equivalent of Infinity, including paid content
The main conflict will be a global scale war over control of the "Lighthouse" which I am assuming is a space elevator
The player will end up joining or forming a 3rd party dedicated to stopping said global conflict by force
The Lighthouse will at some point be destroyed, possibly with a mission to destroy as much falling debris as possible
It will end with a unification of the countries and the formation of UPEO
All we really have to go on is the lighthouse and a war centered on it. May as well go nuts.
But seriously, that shit is gonna fall and kill a lot of people. Just a 35,800 km long trail of carnage. No amount of debris shooting will do anything. If anything you will just have to dodge.
>teammate in 1800 cst Tornado
Jesus. Barely managed to get the MVP in a fighter during the air-heavy phase from WBA and even then only by 5k. That guy was a monster.
Guess what. Only tickets so far.
Got 2mil the 31st but already burnt them to get my X-29A -EX- to lv. 11. Those things hurt my credits.
I've been getting good amounts of stocked in gold boxes, so I can't really complain, but what I wanted was the million credits. From burning about 15 of my own stocked, I got about 10 back, which I burnt as well. Now I'm firmly in top 1000 territory.
The wingmen from SWON make those from AC5 look like complete pansies. I think they're purposefully scripted not to attack certain targets, otherwise the game would be piss easy. The enemy AI isn't bad at all either.
