I'm sorry for this in advance, since it's fucking retarded and not adding anything of worth to the general, but I just picked up r6s and I'm stuck in the main menu and don't know what to do. I've completed all of the Situations available (that's three, the rest are locked) on all difficulties and completed all of their objectives, I've watched all of the tutorials and that's it. Nothing else is unlocked, I can't navigate to the operaters, shop, multiplayer, fucking ubisoft club, anything. I feel like a piece of shit for asking this because I know I'm doing something wrong, I'm just too stupid to figure it out.

In the situations presented in this game, where a highly-trained team of counter-terrorists are going up against terrorists who are probably pumped full of pcp/painkillers/amphetamines and are religious extremists fantasizing about their 72 virgins, it's understandable that the meta should be to aim for the head. But it would be cool if shooting someone in the foot or leg or hand or arm had different effects, and would fuck with their aim after 20-30 seconds without rook's armor. A shot to the chest with 5.56 and up without rook's armor should really fuck someone up, at least crack a rib and make them louder when moving.

If there was no opportunity for individual skill to triumph over sheer numbers then the game should just be decided by which team gets the first kill, because then the other team is outnumbered.

What you're failing to see is that a game where individual skill (twitch reflexes, situational awareness, etc) is the only thing that matters is EXACTLY as cancerous as a game where only teamwork (communication, positioning, timing) matters because in both cases the match is already decided as soon as it begins. Both the ability for a player to work with their team and their own individual skill have to matter or else matches will just invariably be landslides.

In that situation you posted above, it's pretty much equally possible that the two successfully pin the guy down and riddle him with bullets as it is that he manages to pull off the headshots- depending, of course, on how good of a shot the one player is and how coordinated the other two are.

Which is a good thing. If ever time the game came down to a 2v1 scenario the 1 was guaranteed to lose regardless of his individual skill, the game should just end with a victory right then rather than continue. Ditto with 2v3, 3v4, and 4v5- if all that matters is sheer numbers then the game's win condition should be just to kill a single enemy instead of the whole team. The fact that a single individual with high skill CAN turn the tide back is an important feature of the game.

I must say, however, that putting it on the 417 is kind of silly. The recoil on that rifle is so bad that you would have to sit in place for far too long a moment if you wanted to get two shots off at the same target.

No. Smokes are really good for open areas if you throw them directly on the enemy because you know they're going to be in the smoke so you can spray them while they're blind and are forced to run out the smoke to get any vision.

In small areas like the entirety of this game, throwing a smoke only prompts them to spray the shit out of the only spots you can possibly enter through, and you can't spray them back because the limited movement doesn't give you many options to get a better angle and spray them down. It's basically a waste of a slot unless you throw them randomly to cause a distraction.

Check all the other key vendors. I've put in a shitload of hours, so I think for myself it has been worth it, but I wouldn't take the $45 dollar leap unless you really enjoyed yourself in the beta and want to make an effort to play for a while. It'll take a bit for you to learn all the nuances and such, otherwise if you play only for about 20 hours or so, you'll feel like a shitter the entire time.

Other than that, its a great game, its easy to find a crew in TS that will roll with you, and theres a pretty good skill gap for those that find themselves getting truly better at the game. It rewards you for learning the mechanics and such.

You can mute, but it's annoying, also pretty sure it won't save between matches. Bring up scoreboard, use arrow keys to navigate down to the player you want, hit enter then mute option should be there. Mind you sometimes it randomly just skips over a player.
Alternate option is go into settings and lower mic receive volume to zero.
