I switched to SafeSysUpdater a few days ago. On the old 0.4.2 I was using, I just got 'Failure to get CIA file information!' stuff, with SafeSysUpdater I just get the black screen. You CANT update your O3DS to 10.4 and use browserhax. Even if you could right now, you'd be lucky as the browser checks for new updates and will stop working and ask you to update your console randomly. After it does that once, you'll never be able to use browserhax again unless you downgrade to 9.2

hey guys, on an n3dsxl, trying to switch over from rxtools to reinand. i reformatted emunand because i tried to update it with the eshop and i couldn't boot into it with rxtools anymore. following the gbatemp guide, i'm pretty sure i did everything but i could have skipped over some stuff because i went straight to cfw installation in the tutorial. when i try to boot reinand i just get a black and red screen. any ideas on what i might have missed?

Answer me this.
I downgraded plus got menu hacks and installed rx tools, I also formatted emunand successfully. HOWEVER. After I formatted it and attempted to transfer over my 3ds data from my pc to my 3ds, my sd card became full.
Do I just format the new sd card when I get it and inject my old emunand to the new sd card?

sysnand is the system nand. emunand is a hidden partition you create on the sd that mimics actual fw. If anything ever happens to emunand then you don't care since you can just create it from scratch. It's basically emulated nand.

sysNAND is the environment your 3DS runs on, menus, themes, settings, and all. emuNAND is a duplicate image of your sysNAND that runs off your sd card instead of the 3DS system itself. The main difference is that you can easily make backups of your emuNAND easily, so if anything goes wrong, you can easily replace it or start from scratch again.

There's also a method of "unlinking" (formatting one of the NANDs) your sysNAND and emuNAND. If you don't unlink, both NANDs will communicate with each other and may cause problems.

Do you mean getting your old stuff back on sysNAND and basically removing all traces of modded stuff? The safest way would be to use EMUNAND9 to inject the very first sysNAND backup you made when you were starting out. It will get you back all your credentials and official stuff and whatever with your NNID. You can also try injecting your current emuNAND into your sysNAND, which is more risky but it would allow you to keep all of your official data, like all of your current saves and stuff like streetpass data that you gained while you were on emuNAND. I've heard that injecting it back like that will simply remove all unsigned stuff and that you should be good, but I have NOT tried it and would only recommend it if you are able and willing to hardmod should it fuck up. The safest bet is just putting that original unexploited 9.2 backup you made at the start before anything, but you're gonna lose some of the data that you accumulated while you were using emuNAND.

If I were to guess, make a backup copy of your current emunand on you 4GB. You can do this with rxTools or the Gateway Loader I think. Set up your new SD card with emunand using the gateway loader. Then inject your backed up emunand using rxTools. After that is done, copy your old SD card data to your new SD card.

Take this with a grain of salt. I haven't actually done this myself so there might be shit I am missing here but I imagine it would go like this.

I bought Ghost Recon: SW day one along with the 3DS but then lost the cart. Never bothered getting it again and they took to long to put it at 20 bucks on the eShop.

Now I downloaded it and, holy fuck, I forgot how much I loved this thing. It'ss the most C&C: Red Alert 1-ish feel I've had on a game since C&C RA1 itself. And I don't even like turn based games.

Actually, that would be a really easy way for Nintendo to force you to update. When the download play happens, both 3DSs could check their firmware versions and compare to each other. If they don't match then it means that at least one 3DS is not up to date with more recent firmware.

When one of them updates their firmware, the check would still happen trying to do download play. If the other 3DS has a lower firmware then the process will halt again until the other 3DS updates.

In other words it would guarantee that both 3DSs update provided at least one of them is not up to date.
