Do you guys have any beginner tips for me?
Is there something you should focus on at the start?
Are there any recommended builds?
what class are you going?
also sell the monocle from the start, its worth a lot of money and unless you want to wear a monocle, is shit.
This is a pure adventure game you really don't want guides for.
Run around at night
Go explore an area you haven't even if you're hesitant
Don't be afraid to jump on a boss or try anything
With that said, you probably would like trying fighter or strider before mage. The game's combat system shines in melee, and while magic is done quite well it is fairly slow to build up to a point where it has variety.
1. don't play hard mode
2. you don't have to stick with one class, you can use other classes' augments if you have unlocked them.
3. eternal ferrystone in your stash afer you reach gran soren
Be sure to finish the quest Lost and Found as soon as you get it. If you continue much further, it will automatically be cancelled, locking out an entire zone and a lengthy quest chain.
There are a few side quests like this.
How's Mystic Knight with staff? I'm just running mace since it seems like shield already takes care of magic damage. The game needs a mod that let me swap equipment on the fly by the press of a button.
I'm level 23 and been playing mage. It's pretty boring actually. Going to try sorcerer but not sure if I'll enjoy it either as I suspect it'll be more of the same.
Thinking about changing to MK or MA. Which is the fun class here?
Mage is support with a mix of offense, sorcerer is mostly pure offense. It's pretty damn fun, sure you'll have to stay still a while and charge for the strongest spells but it's totally worth it imo.
>respawning teleporting giant snakes
>harpies killing Mercedes' Ox right before Grand Soren
Godamn I thought this game would be a chilled-out adventure, I was fucking wrong.
Some sidquests get invalidated by story progression, so if you get a sidequest that isn't from a notice board you should probably do it as soon as you can.
Don't be afraid to switch classes.
Minmaxing is mostly pointless, play what you want to play.
Pawn training is the only thing you need a guide for, look it up if they're acting retarded.
Well you fucked up your first playthrough by making it way easier than it should have been and you didn't get to explore a variety of gameplay styles while you were at it, too.
I was paranoid that the monocle was worth so much money.
I thought it was some super special item that I needed later on, and would fuck myself over if I sold it.
It's just a stupid fucking monocle.
If I go from fighter to Warrior or mystic knight do my skills stay? I know mystic knight has a shield and sword like fighter but warrior only has heavy shit. I ask because I already maxed out fighter
You can't use warrior skills for MK but you can use augments, they're all cross class. You can change back to warrior whenever with no hassle, you don't LOSE the skills, you can just not use them for other classes.
2 hours later I think I made my perfect arisen. Whatya think?
Thought this just got a PC release? Where are all the threads about each individual brick texture and frames per nanosecond?
Don't make your pawn a brown loli fighter or you'll be playing the game with a boner the whole time.
Full bend arrow is good. Fucking get that if you're an archer, and get it early.
Online Ur dragon is pretty much unkillable by yourself.
It has millions of HP.
Your damage gets added to the damage that everyone else playing is doing to him until he eventually dies.
You get loot depending on how much damage you did and whether you were there when the final blows were dealt.
For the love of all that is good, please tell me where I can get some better weapons.
Ii've been running around for 3 Days wit ha level 2 Trusty Sword and it is awful.
>fighting drakes with two pawns with taunts
>they still run over me all the time or use spells that stun me
>same with any type of chimeras or anything that moves fast
Enemies in Everfall aren't hard at all. Just trying to cast bigger spells as sorcerer is just garbage, even when possessing Wyrmking ring. I probably should change into Magic Archer to save myself from asspain.
This pawn is cute but her inclinations are bad. It's hard finding mage pawns with good inclinations like utilitarian/mitigator or utilitarian/medicant
LIstle to your fucking porn s dawg. Runn away it a eminy is too strong.
Sorry but I just went to seen the Revenant alone ant I felt pathitec so I decided to drwon my sorrurws witn bunderburg rum and som socke.
I hate being a loner.
It will definitely make the game trivial. On console, spamming restoration items was a chore because the menus took time to load. On PC, you can even hotkey them. There's no real need to bring a mage anymore when you can just chug spring water indefinitely.
holy shit learn how to explore just a LITTLE BIT
there's a shop in the fucking starter town where you can buy new shit. and you can buy shit from the merchant you save on the road to encampment.
Is this the new generation of gamers that has never played a game without giant boxes constantly telling you EVERYTHING?
Make sure to accept all notice board quests, you'll do most with out even trying. Not to mention a significant amount of those award you with golden weapons upon completion. (Weapons that sell for 50-100k.)
I got unlucky on my first run with the Hydra convoy right outside Grand Soren, it was demoralizing as fuck. The game is great but the frequent difficulty spikes right at the beginning of the game are crazy, especially considering how laid-back the first half-hour or so of the game is (killing goblins, collecting flowers etc.).
I swear the designers did this shit on purpose, I can't believe you can fight those lizard men in the well right at the beginning of the game, it's kind of comical desu.
>mfw some dumbass Saurian thought it could block my Savage Lash
Don't sperg too much about inclinations. /ddg/ likes to pretend like they're a matter of life and death, but really, it's just nice to have the right ones. Most of the game is easily manageable even with slightly deficient pawns.
>enemy dodges arc of deliverance at the last second
Where exactly can i get better magic bows? I'm using the one you get from the smith in soren but was wondering if I could get anything better at this point. I just finished the wyrm hunt quests and talked to the duke.
I don't want a guardian mage pawn following me doing nothing
You can go purchase elixirs at the camp where you first get your main pawn.
Will give you an idea of the inclinations.
The eternal ferrystone is a bit over the top.
I understand why they made it in the update since manually traveling after you've had to make tons of trips to Gran Soren can become tedious.
but giving new players a way to fast travel without consequence from basically the beginning can take away from the crazy trips you have early on in the game when you don't know what's around every corner and night fall arrives.
Sorcerer is the better magic vocation so go with that if you were interested in Mage at all.
I've always found Fighter to be funner because my fights lasted longer and prefect blocking is sex. Strider is probably better if you like to climb and go fast. Helm/Brain Splitter is never not fun also.
Well shit, I must be blind. I never found the shops in the town.
I recommend you start up a steam family account so you don't lose your character. Anyway, if you don't like strength, go yellow (ranger/strider/assassin), they benefit from the same stat.
Also, magic is WAY harder to level. If you can't deal with BBI on a physical character, wait till you try it as a mage or sorc lol
Every sorcerer has that augment in late game, but not all are aware of making counterfeit out of Wyrmking ring and giving that away.
Even with those spell cast reductions, enemies keep interrupting my shit too often, since all fights in there are in some hall without any cover.
>them child bearing hips
Think I found the perfect mage pawn
>"Gran Soren is the biggest and most populated city in Gransys"
>looks like shit
>already getting tired of looking at it every time I need to upgrade skills and equipment
>makes me worried about what the rest of the game has in store
hows my pawnu? I did what I could, but the faces of this game all look so adult-like.
Also the clothes are pretty pleb tier, any tips on where to find cute outfits?
I've hired plenty of shitty guardian pawns when I played the game 3 times over on console, and they still do their job, just not as efficiently. It's hilarious how people have gotten it into their heads that guardians will just stand around doing nothing. They certainly do follow you around, but they also cast healing and status clearing spells just fine.
After you meet the duke, Fornival(the fat noble merchant), will have a quest for you. Before accepting make a checkpoint save. Because it's very easy to mess up this quest, after making a checkpoint follow the daughter around town.(do not touch or carry her it will result in failure).
She'll ask you to do a number of tasks like hide and seek, bringing her water, and a race (let her win).
After the race, the quest will turn and say complete. Talk to the daughter and she'll give you a golden idol. A weapon that unlocks weapon and armor store for either madeline or the caxton. (Consult the wiki for who you should give it too.)
If you get anything other than the gold idol from the daughter, then start the checkpoint save over.
You can always fill out the rest of the party with other pawns, so your main pawn's vocation isn't that important.
That being said, it will learn better if you play a similar vocation to it.
Should I go out and explore west of Gran Soren or will it fuck up any quests if I stumble onto something?
Last time I was wandering around west of Gran Soren I ran into a fucking red dragon and almost got my shit pushed in and burned off. I had the warrior skill that reduces damage a shitload and he still took like 1/5 of my health bar with one casual swipe of his claws
>fast travel without consequence
You still have to get there the first time senpai.
Also, the ferrystones were pretty cheap in vanilla. The biggest change is how many portcrystals you get for free.
There's already complaining from newfags about "too much walking", so I think this is for the best.
Obtain the gold and silver idols, and turn them into either caxton or Madeleine after your lvl33. There stock will change after 2 days. (Do not gift it, they will ask for one in a quest)
I recommend consulting the wiki page for who you give the gold and silver idol too, for the maxium posssible weapon stock for your vocation.
>Do you guys have any beginner tips for me?
Don't do the hydra head escort quest with Mercedes after beating the short boss fight. Return to starting town and do the quest that involves finding Quina from Witchwood. If you don't you're going to be locked out of few good and plot related side quests.
>Is there something you should focus on at the start?
>Are there any recommended builds?
Just play what class you want. You only start with 3 classes, but unlock 6 more after you reach the main city and can change between them at the inn there. As long as you don't just exclusively play magic classes for 100 levels then switch to physical damage classes or vice versa you can play however you want. Min-maxing only matters if you're going to be grinding the online version of a special optional boss that drops unique holy element weapons, but those are instantly outclassed by regular expansion area gear. Most of your damage and defenses are derived from your gear and equipped augments rather than your character's stats.
She just looks like a fat hooker.
You're just using DLC gear bro. Pleb as fuck.
Obviously, the gear improves once you get to later stages of the game. BBI gear generally looks /fa/ as fuck. Just play the story.
But dude, a fucking DRAGON out of nowhere came around the corner of a rock like "lol what's up"
THE FUCK MAN?
And also a Griffon fucked up a cart, hit me with lightning and flew off like a little bitch. FUCK MONSTERS REMOVE MONSTER
Go visit the Greatwall Encampment northwest of Gran Soren past the female bandit camp. The best merchant in the game is there. Check him every now and then as you progress the story. He's always ahead of everyone else. It's a long hard trip but worth it.
Where can I get a decent longbow? I'm using a R3 sharp longbow or whatever it is called. The Hydra bow is only worth the price at R3 it seems but I don't have the materials for it, so that's not really much of an option.
I'm doing the quests right now to get accepted after the tentacle monster.
Alright, we have VERY different experiences then. My guardians do act sorta dumb, but they still cast spells and deal damage. They certainly don't just stand still doing NOTHING.
Alright then. I'd still recommend sparing your character, when you find out how limited sorcs are, you'll probably quit the game in frustration instead of remaking your physical character.
Yeah, they learn pretty effectively, but note that lots of strider skills arent available to assassins. You can't teach a strider pawn to use helm splitter for example. (He'll still use it though, just not when you instruct him to.)
>attempt escort quest with Adaro early in game

Pretty decent, though I'm not convinced of that elf ear hair clipping.
Also, certain people might accuse her of having a manface because you chose one of the more boxy head shapes.
That being said, it doesn't matter. You can change all of that for free in the post-game. If you like her, that's all that matters. (It's your pawn that you have to get people to like.)
>mfw finally a video game character with my name
Learn how to combo him to death.
>mfw killing him in less than 10 seconds
First time I did that, I got a huge fucking erection.
>mfw my pawn saved me from the ogre
get better pawns. My wife is a guardian and would never leave me to be ogre food.
Is it worth to change class when you reach maximum rank with the one you are using? I want to try them all but I've read that your stats scale depending of the class you are using, so it may not be a good idea.
I have used Strider to lvl 16 or so, then Magic Archer until lvl 33 and I'm Sorcerer now with lvl 38; so maybe I'm fucking my character's stats.
Hard is harder, anon's just being a contrarian little dipshit. The thing is, you get more XP and gold, so according to him, faster progression = "easier".
Prepare your anus though, hard more ups damage by 450%, it's gonna hurt.
Finally, BBI is better for difficulty-wanking. That's available from the start, though recommend you're around level 45 before attempting it.
Some people on steam forums are saying it's working. Seems like it's working for some people now so they are in process of fixing it. Probably get an announcement in a few days about a fix.
The upped damage taken, increased stamina usage, and mobs with more health is awful in term of increased difficulty and is easily offset by being able to farm fucking goblins and weaker creatures for 10k+ a kill.
>DD veterans telling newfags "nah m8, just explore ;)" while having a good laugh
I'm onto you assholes
>play as Magick Archer
>climb beasts with my daggers
>suddenly my support mage pawn starts to do the same
No. Stop pawn. You're support. Stop doing this shit.
Brain Splitter is more damaging than even eleven-fold arrow with blast arrows. It's THAT ridiculous. (at least with the BBI ring)
This is no joke
Casuals, casuals everywhere. They don't realize how much it breaks the game because of instant curatives.
Absolutely, you ought to mix up the classes to get the different augments from each. Stats do scale depending on class, but they have the same total value (except mage)
From what you said, it looks like you're going for a magic character. That's fine. You can also go for a hybrid character, there's no problem. Really, you can level as warrior for 200 levels and then swap and kick ass as a sorcerer, no joke. (Provided you have the right equipment of course.)
>The thing is, you get more XP and gold, so according to him, faster progression = "easier".
It totally is when it makes you way more powerful than you should be. Especially since a couple of augments scale with hard mode. It's harder at first but you always will get out of the hole.
Inclinations for a healslut mage pawn? Medicant's a given, but I'm unsure about the second inclination.
>Into Free Theme Song
>File not found
Mobs don't have more health. Anyway, 450% increased damage taken means you'll get one-shot from the start. For many people, that's not what you call "easy". If your special snowflake opinion is that it IS, and that money is THAT hard to come by on normal that you can't even equip yourself, then that's fine. But it is unlikely to be shared by most people.
I'll agree with you that hard mode is shit though, the game already has a scaling problem later in the game. Hard mode just exasperates it. Play BBI earlier if you want difficulty.
You'll outscale content easily on normal mode as well, and you won't have any issues with being one-shot. Hard mode has plenty of issues, that we can all agree on, but this idea that hard mode is actually EASIER is just silly in my opinion.
No, you don't understand. I just tried it again, and I got it frenzied and poisoned. All of a sudden, it bolts behind everyone and off the edge. My pawns were passed out and I was reviving them, and one of them actually got carried off by the ogre when it died. What the fuck?
The journey is the goal dude, exactly these situations is what makes the game such a gem. Sadly there is too much fast travel now. Do yourself a favor and discard the eternal ferrystone.
Practice and master perfect blocking. A perfect block results in no damage, and throws small enemies to the ground.
If your a mystic knight with an enchanted shield. (Natural or from mage), then you also shoot a fire ball.
Maximum casual. Just the the augments and the ring, or play another class.
Yeah, me too. Just wish the game world was even bigger. BBI is great, but gets a bit samey, and it would be nice with more of the overworld. We need DD2 desperately.
>discard the eternal ferrystone
That must be the worst piece of advice I've read all day. Stashing it and refraining from using it, okay. But DISCARDING IT? Are you retarded?
You can probably just rebuy it from the black cat though
I read that the basic vocation that gets a shield (dont' recall the name) gets an ability that makes that window more lenient?
Oh and does my shield only block what's right in front of me?
Do they block wider for Mystic Knights cause' they have bigger shields?
I don't know, I feel that when there are more than 2 or 3 enemies focusing you (and there should be, right? I mean, I'm the tank!) it gets very hard to block damage.
Even more so if you want a perfect block.
Does the game sells good on PC? First time I pre-ordered.
what's up senpai
heard you was looking for a grimoire
I can guarantee you the PC version won't change shit by itself, no publisher judges the viability of a sequel based off of the sales of a late port to an untested platform. Either Capcom just needed a quick buck, or they're already working on relaunching the franchise and this was part of it.
I'm probably halfway through the game and enjoying switching classes and trying everything.
How realistic is maxing every class? Will I have to grind the shit out of respawning enemies if I want to try out everything? Should I just stick to one advanced vocation and max it out until the end of the game?
>I mean, I'm the tank!
You should probably stop thinking like this right away. This is definitely not a game you can think of in MMO-terms.
But yeah, the shield blocks more or less everything, at least if it's a perfect block.
>mfw I had the mettle to take it from them
So what is my purpose if not to soak damage?
There is no one with higher defense than me, and I have an ability that nullifies their damage.
And it's not like my actual DPS is anywhere near as good as a DPS class...
>the monocle is worth 300,000 dollarydoos
Man that was awesome, decent gear. Does anyone have any cheesing tips to get bitterblack gear at an early level?
What's a good key setup for the keyboard+mouse?
I'm really finding the two modifier buttons+3 skills awkward. That's 5 buttons, it would only take 1 more button to have one key access to everything.
Prescience is the augment that makes perfect blocks easier.
It only blocks whats in front of you, so early on the augments bastion and fortitude help, as they increase defense.
No idea about the mystic knight's block.
Perfect block should give invincibility frames.
NO, THEY HOLD THE ADVANTAGE!
DD:O is on PC and Capcom already has plenty of titles on Steam. That being said, I'm not convinced DD2 is happening either.
It's perfectly viable. I'm not sure how far you actually are, but most people think they're done when they have like half the game left.
There are also ways to grind discipline without gaining that much XP.
It might have been hired, but it's bugged
apparantly my friend got a notice earlier today that I had hire his pawn and a rift crystal reward so I hope that means they are in the process of fixing it
How in fucks name am I supposed to destroy the little hanging charms that make the Witchwood foggy? Some of them are easy but others are hanging from the trees I have no way of reaching.
Am I supposed to find a rock and get lucky with a throw?
Fighter has good DPS, the shield is more so you can stay in risky positions more and inflict stagger with perfect blocks
You might want to switch to mystic knight, as it's perfect blocks directly harm the attacker. it's fucking awesome
I pirated this since I had already bought it twice before. I then used cheat engine to de-restrict skills by vocation and increase game speed to 130% for a turbo mode feel. I also gave myself the eternal ferrystone because I'd already done all that before.
Holy fuck it all opened the game up so much more. Based cheat engine.
Just don't do anything truly fucking casual like infinite health or whatever.
It's the beginning of the fight, so the fucking ogre charges through the hallway, rounds the pillar, and falls off. Fuck this shit, if he does it again he can keep his fucking bones. I want to move on.
The pawns don't deal nearly enough damage for the Arisen to slack off like that, and there's no reliable way to "hold aggro". Fighter deals pretty decent damage, and I suggest you focus on that, while using the shield to keep yourself in the fight for longer.
Consider that as a strider, you'd be doing the exact same thing, except rolling instead of blocking.
>it's not like my actual DPS is anywhere near as good as a DPS class
Quite true, but you're also pretty much invincible and therefore can sustain a lot better. (I'd recommend trying out assassin though, they also get sword and shield.) Also try out Dragon's Maw, that deals immense damage and has lengthy iframes.
>farming BBI for ring money
If only i was a muscle wizard
I keep seeing videos where archer skills lock on to the enemy but all of the skills I have require me to aim which is annoying because the accuracy is really bad.
Is this just for Magick Archer or later level skills?
Not really a fan of trying to hit moving enemies from afar with slow innacurate projectiles and low stamina.
Is there a mod/table/script/whatever for
clear skiesyet? I don't think I have enough damage to do the glitch yet.
I started getting notices since last night, and it's taking about 40 seconds less to "access server."
Rate my warrior arisen and mage healslut pawn
>cutting off a Hydra head with High Miasma
Is there a poison spell in any game better than Miasma?
Forgeries are basically exact copies of items, unless they're magic, in which case they won't work at all. Like a forged wakestone is basically just a pretty rock
Makes a dupe of resources.example: dragonscale for upgrading.
Allows you to keep quest items like the wrymking ring.
Allows you to keep gold idol discount, by keeping a forgery on you.
How good is Strider on the long run? Recently switched to Ranger and while using longbows is nice and all but it really feels slow and sluggish compared to running around as Strider (and don't wanna ditch bows for Assassin)
Dupes an item. Depending on the item, it either does nothing (gag Ferrystones), copies the effect but does different things if submitted for a quest (Idols, Grimoire), or actually dupes the item (Wyrmhunter License, Ledgers, Letters, most resources).
I'm not having trouble killing it. I'm having trouble keeping it from killing itself. Loot disappears after a while, or at least it did when I fought the cyclops on the way to Gran Soren and missed out on its tusks.
You can always just sneak into BBI at level 1 and steal some gear. The moonlight doors especially are good for this.
Good for you anon. I'm willing to bet that easy mode will get somewhat boring after a short while though.
You can fake quest items if you want to keep it for example.
Instal original menu music http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=600962775 it fits dragon's dogma more than new one. new one should start playing only after you beat the game or visit dlc area
He makes a forgery of whatever you hand him. There's two times in the game that this is essential. The Gold Idol and the Wyrmking's Ring should be duplicated. You can keep the fake Gold Idol and still get shop discounts but you should turn in the Fake Wyrmking's Ring and keep the real one for faster spell casting.
What is considered the necessary loadout for setting out for adventure in terms of curatives, tools, buffs, etc? There are so many potions and consumables I can't figure out what is worth bringing and what will just waste precious cargo weight...
People have been telling me they have been rating my Pawn yet my pawn has no rating whatsoever as if shes never even been hired once? Is this a glitch or what?
I'm mad as hell I've been focusing all gear on her and have good inclination on her but nothing
I can show you two, and they're both men.
I did neglect that I'm doing this on hard mode. Making it faster but removing the tedious backtracking is kind of casual I guess, but it's not like I'm hacking in gear or anything.
>step outside of Gran Soren to go visit the Shadow Keep where some good for nothing Goblins were running a muck
>as I make my way down the bridge outside the city gates a guard is yelling about a caravan being attacked
>dispatch the goblins no sweat, I'm an arisen after all
>as I finish off the last of the goblins I hear a guard say something under his breath
>a fucking piece of shit griffin swoops down and kills the entire caravan including oxen, cart, guards and all
>as I regained my composure and finally realize what is happening I manage to graze the beasts wings once with my slow two-handed weapon
>griffin decides to fuck off and fly away laughing at my pitiful attempt
>t'was a bird Arisen, be mindful of the sky
hope those guard/caravan folk weren't of importance. t'was naught i could do.
There is an issue with the system. If you go to the pause screen and check out status, then your pawn, then either the bestiary or the quest tab, you can see an Unknown Quest or an Unknown Beast, which means your pawn is being used by other players
The actual system isn't working right now, which is disappointing since it's a fundamental mechanic of the game. They are being rented, you just aren't getting the rewards for it.
This game makes me think I would be the worst leader ever
>mfw everytime my pawns get attacked by a strong group of enemies
Greenwarish for heals (stronger varieties as you level)
Mushrooms for stamina
Or you can just bottle endless amounts of spring water and cheese the game that way.
Harspud is definitely an option too.
On BBI, you ought to carry some panacea for status afflictions, but as long as you bring a mage with high halidom and a sorc with high voidspell, they can sort you out. (Just unreliably in the middle of combat.) For the base game, status afflictions are hard to justify, though cockatrices are a bit scary with their petrification. (Again, bring a sorc with voidspell.)
That's way too many and will make you go above lightweight. He shouldn't need more than perhaps 8, and then just restock when in town.
You can see their stubble
I was thinking of the unlocked vocation skills. I can think of a few ridiculous combos. That being said, fun things are fun.
Have your pawn carry a Port Crystal everywhere. Whenever you need to go back to Gran Soren, place it down, stock up, and resume your adventure by teleporting back to it. Don't forget to pick it up again.
when you're returning a pawn, give them a forged Ferrystone
So I gave my Fighter pawn the Shield Boost skill that lets him toss you higher, can he learn from other people online that happen to have it or do I have to teach him how to use it myself?
Also, are the pawn rental rewards still broken?
>made a viking arisen
>get to make main pawn
>fall in love with preset warrior woman
>once made realize she is smaller than my mc
Fuark, any way to just edit her height in raws? I've read that you can use an item to change it later in the game but I want a tall as fuck warrior woman right now.
anyone tweaked this one to look more like trump or is this the bestest?
>unironically playing double-loli disaster

Well, at least blade and soul releases tomorrow, so maybe I play that for a while and the start Dragon's Dogma from the beginning.
Been pumped to try it on pc ever since the announcment. Gonna pirate to see how it runs on my shitty 2010 pc (i know refunds are a thing but i know i get way too sucked into this kind of stuff and i would suprass the time limit)
Any feedback toaster bros?
At what point do I stop doing shit damage? I'm level 22 now, 20 into Mage, 2 into Assassin. Both sides have felt like it takes years before any enemies die, the charge time on some of the mage stuff was insane to get any damage out of it at all, and once I got to Gran Soren everything suddenly became a massive damage sponge. My daggers have double the damage that my staff did but somehow do way less damage even ranked up, the skills I have for both daggers and arrows feel like garbage in terms of damage, and the only way I seem to do any damage at all is if I have an enchantment they're weak to and it still takes 15+ hits.
For crying out loud, Goblins should not take 10 hits to kill, Hobgoblins survive 5+ light attacks that are enchanted with fire, and the heavy attack with arrows is so slow it's not even worth using.
My pawn's name is Helba
She's a level 21 strider
You should hire her
The map looks so small but feels so big. I like the limited fast travel but kind of wish there were horses at least.
It gets better, but if you're such a baby that you can't handle even the start of the game, then you should probably just give up now.
>not maxing height sliders on your pawn
Your mistake senpai.
You can do it with cheat engine, but you can also do it by spending some RC in-game. Up to you.
Play warrior at least once. Arc of deliverance is a must see.
Other than that Assassin/Magic archer is the best you can roll.
Just started out the game, and I've killed 2 ogres and a chimera. I am playing Strider and it was a lot of cheesing by resurrecting my guys and firing a billion arrows in their faces but I did it. The chimera was especially hard. I feel like it was a bad idea to kill the snake head and the goat head because it went berserk after that and I used up all my healing items just to stay on my feet, but I did it.
I like that you can do shit like this despite being low level. The manes I got from the chimera even let me fully upgrade my silvan bow.
Currently no idea what to do. I just entered that dungeon under the pawn inn, but I am not sure if thats the main quest or not.
Get some better weapons, and stop splitting your stats between magic and physical.
Or just go MA and kick ass.
Post-game gives you infinite changes, so there's no really "wasting" it, especially since the main quest isn't that long. I'd say go for it, as long as you have the rift bux.
MAKE A FORGERY OF THE WYRMKING'S RING AND GIVE IT TO THE DUKE INSTEAD OF THE REAL ONE, YOU CAN SNEAK IN THE CASTLE AT NIGHT AND STILL GET THE PALADIN'S MANTLE.
BUT IT'S LIKE 100K GOLD TO FORGE JUST DO IT
I need to observe the cult in the catacombs but I can hear the voices but I can't get to them. The door is locked and I don't seem to know how to open it.
>Get some better weapons
The stilettos are straight up the best one available to me right now and they're doing garbage damage.
The split was just for later game stat gains, I'm sticking with Assassin for a long while now.
Why do people shit on the overworld in this game as being generic? I fucking love finally seeing an RPG world that's actually just a forest with some mountains and seaside, I can't believe how rare that is
>Picked Hard Mode
>played the fuck out of Dark Arisen & Vanilla on the consoles
>Don't recall getting the option for Hard Mode on a new game
>Die instantly on my strider to a fucking pink goblin in one stroke
Well now. Fellas just how much HP am I gonna need before this isn't a common occurence.
>big greyed out area right in the middle of the fucking map
who was the dipshit that thought this would be a good idea? this map truly could have been beautiful if tehre wasn't a giant fucking hole in the middle of it. what the fuck
>not smart enough to just follow the path
>despite it being the only one
The map doesn't matter, it's the WORLD that matters. I mean, I'd like a bigger world as much as anyone else, but the fact that there's a "hole" in the map causes you buttpain is just autism.
>on my first quest
Taking the Hydra Head? No one likes that quest.
>Does it get better?
After you reach Gran Soren, that's entirely up to you. You sort of make your own fun in this game. Find a vocation you like, take a long journey, think of new ways to fight monsters, go out at night, etc. Once you're slicing the shit out of a Griffin as it falls while on fire and Imminent Triumph starts playing, that's when you decide whether you're having fun or not.
Well, that's exactly what generic is. Some people like it, some don't, I'm not a big fan but the level design makes up for it. I mean, it's hard to find an open world which has some sort of level design at all.
>shit underneath it!
no fucking shit there's shit underneath it you sperg lords. that fact alone makes it even more fucking retarded that they just left it blank.
at least put a fucking mountain there, jesus christ
>Not sure why you did that honestly.
Stat gains, it's just stat gains. But this isn't just a problem with my physical attacking class, it was the same problem with my Mage for the 20 levels I played it. The pawns I've spawned that are barely any higher than me are basically doing all the damage, especially the Strider who is massacring things with her bow.. Hell, my Strength right now is 229 while my Magick is 170, I should be doing more than this, even normal shitty goblins take me forever. The amount of gained into Strength had I been a Warrior would have been negligible at best.
>tfw Pawn is three stared in almost every mission (almost have The Hero achievemt for all the missions)
>Pawn is decked out with great gear and crazy weapon
>no one hires her
Uti/Medicant as primary/secondary, once she has learned enough tactics/bestiary knowledge. Medicant primary can tend to heal too much, like overhealing when someone loses a tiny bit of HP.
Uti should generally always be the primary for pawns with enough knowledge. Until then you substitute for the second best, like scather for striders.
Should have switched to Sorcerer at level 10 for better Magic Attack
You've barely just started getting any Physical Attack.
What matters most is how many levels you spent on a vocation. You played a support class for too long and barely touched the strongest class in the game.
>mfw using CE to dup port crystals
Is there a limit to how many port crystals I can have placed around the world? If so is there a mod letting me remove that limit?
I'm going to create my own fast travel network.
Copying from /ddg/ cause I need answers. Been getting 1* and rotten fish.
Thinking the following for my mage
Utilitarian/Challenger with medicant as tertiary?
High Comestion, High Frigor, High Levin primary skills
Holy affinity, High Anodyne, High Halidom
Will I get 1 starred and/or brined?
>GUIDE TO SWAP ANY BGM IN THE GAME
All right time to swap the music that plays during the dragon battle with Into Free.
You have never been so hype.
>start hard mode for the first time after multiple normal playthroughs
>100k gold before gran soren
W E W
Don't feel bad it's more luck than anything. The people who get lots of hires are the ones who post their pawns on 10 different forums begging for hires.
Personally I only hire pawns I see walking around the city/world that catch my eye. I almost never use the rift, so even if your pawn is amazing if I never see it it just wont get hired.
All I got was 5K RC, no gift and a 3 star rating, after 40 hours of playing.
I hope it retroactively gives us old ratings and gifts, and if I didn't get any gifts or high ratings, then I hope it retroactively goes and fucks itself again
There's a giant hole in the middle of the map. No color, no design, nothing.
They couldn't even put a fucking shitty static image of a mountain on top?
Nope? just leave it grey? Solid!!!!!
So much happened in so little time.
everytime i check a pawn walking around i check their status to see if they're better than mine and none of them ever are. (im sure there are some out there though)
hopefully its because of this
Currently sitting on 900k myself
Also starting hold my own against bullshitbandits and bossmobs.
It's good being the bling arisen.
>mfw still sitting on 100 after 20 hours
>all these people shitting warrior since PC version came out
you and me know how it is
I went Mage, Sorcerer, Magic Archer, but I'm really bad as Magic Archer. I got the best gear and weapons for him that I could, but my blades do so little damage that I literally cannot chip off even a fraction of a Bandits' life (Fully upgraded Golden Stilettos). The bow isn't much better; its damage is very weak and my lower level pawns out-damage me tremendously.
What am I doing wrong?
remember to pay no heed to shegoats
unless you're REALLY desperate
Yea pawn system is bugged, got a random friend request and asked them how they found me, they said they like and have been using my pawn
My pawn has no ratings yet so yea.
Post warriors doing warrior things
>Should have switched to Sorcerer at level 10 for better Magic Attack
Endgame I want it to be able to play most Vocations so it'll have 600 in both Physical and Magick on top of decent defense and HP which is why I did it that way.
I'm sure it'll get better down the road since at 100 it'll have 578 physical, but this early game is absolutely brutal.
They did draw mountains at the edges just like they drew the water at the edges and didn't fill in the rest of it.
No one minds other than you autismo, keep whining about pointless shit.
>bought a staff from reynauld at the encampment and +1 it
>learned cold enchant
>went into the well
>one staff volley instagibs a lizard, no tailcutting
it's fine desu
Guys I lost Madeleine
First time I played the game, she spawned at the inn like she was supposed to. Then I restarted another character, did the Hydra head quest before doing her escort quest and she's nowhere to be found
Can you find Mercedes after her fight with Julien?
