Original Pokemon red & blue 150fag here,
Alright motherfuckers I'm finally taking the jump. I made a brief stop in gen 3 with Fire Red and now I'm going all the way to the modern pokemon games. What the fuck am I in for? Any advice?
I'm going to assume you're in gen 4? Best advice I can give is to play Platinum since that one fixes some problems from dia/pearl.
Best advice I can give is you're going to need a bid hmslave for that shitty field effect Defog.
Are you playing them in between or are you "jumping" directly to X and Y?
Just skip, the experience of missing a bunch of shit them suddenly being thrown into a game with a fuckload of features you don't understand is fun.
>What am I in for?
More of the same. This time in 3D.
Don't listen to /vp/ fags. Skip BW/BW2 entirely.
Take them for what they are. Form your own opinions.
And most importantly,
>What the fuck am I in for?
A good ride even with XY.
>You're going to see a lot of new Pokémon, so you might want to catch them and try it out.
>Turn off the Exp Share as soon as you get.
>Wonder Trade is pretty nice in the beginning of the game.
>Don't use Amie too much.
Have fun OP.
expect wanting to fuck everything
If all he has ever played is Gen1 and Fire Red, disappointment is literally the opposite of what he'll feel.
For those of us who've played SINCE Gen1, yeah. It's stale now.
But for this kid, shits gonna be beautiful and new. Wish I were in your shoes right now.
Its a shitty fucking pokemon game, what kind of advice could you possibly need?
They were always made for ten year olds.
Especially relevant to Omega Ruby
>X&Y are great.
>You made the right choice skipping gen 5, it is hot garbage.
Gen 4 is what made pokemon not be a heaping pile of shit anymore. Gen 5 perfected it (with B/W2). Gen 6 was a step back gameplay wise, but a step ahead graphical wise, recomend you play on a new 3ds if you can.
The exp share is broken as fuck and you'll feel like shit for using it.
But at the same time, its more or less required, because the levels of everything are so low if you don't use the exp share you'll be in for a grind.
>gen V apologists thinking their opinion matters
hearty keks were had.
gen V bored the fuck out of me. it has objectively the worst designed pokemon ever and the challenge is minimal.
bw/2 is only better in one way
>Pokemon goes the Fire Emblem route
Waiting for the day with bated breath
Gen 5 was Gen 4 with worse pokémon designs, easy game, no touch screen interaction, worse metagame and the list goes on.
Reminder for Gen 5 fans with pic related and this video
Holy shit fuck that garbage.
The Poketch had to die for this useless shit.
The dreamworld shit was awful too.
This. Gen 5 is absolute dog shit.
It easily has the worst designed pokemon of any gen, bar none.
Gen VI on the other hand, has some of the best designs. It may have had the least number of new pokemon, but the ones it does have are amazing, minus 1-2
>use Exp Share
>everything ends up overleveled
>don't use Exp Share and switch pokes into each battle instead
>everything gets even more overleveled
>don't use Exp Share and use single pokes only
>team ends up uselessly underleveled
What was Game Freak thinking with these retarded mechanics? It's not like there was a whole lot of thought or depth to the original method but it fucking worked. There was nothing wrong with the Exp Share before. It wouldn't even be that bad in Gen 6 if it were something you had to look for, but it's fucking shoved into your hands right after you beat the first gym.
>>don't use Exp Share and switch pokes into each battle instead
>>everything gets even more overleveled
Literally doesn't happen.
I did this and I was underleveled. I even had to grind a few levels to match the elite 4.
These are the good Gen 5 pokemon
Source: muh opinions
If you switch everything in, they each get the full experience as opposed to only half with the Exp Share. It takes fucking forever to swap in a full team of six for every enemy, but the game is so stupidly easy that it barely matters.
>shitting on pokemon designs
a reminder to get a load of this and be grateful for what you have
Piss easy games, amazing trading, alternating online community.
Really, the only way to enjoy a Pokémon game now is by going online. Try to do a bit of everything that the game gives you and you should be able to have a game that provides both limitless fun and limitless hours.
>They have more Pokemon. That alone makes them superior already.
I only care for a few megas and a couple new Pokemon
>X/Y also has a lot of nice areas
Only north part is good, rest of the region is shit. Honestly Unova has more nice areas than Kalos
Also story is dumb, rivals suck, games feels rushed after 10 hours in.
>one postgame area
Gen 6 games are pretty fucking shitty. Platinum, HGSS and both black and white games are really damn good compared to the new abominations. If you really want to play gen 6 games, then you should try to see if you can play a rom hack of it
Has any pokemon game ever had a good story?
You complete the pokedex. You train multiple good teams. Maybe some themed teams. You collect shinies.
How isn't there stuff to do
>/v/ suddenly likes X/Y
Piss easy even by Pokemon standards, 80% of new designs are shit, fairy type that was supposed to balance things out but instead made the balancing even worse, fuckall to do after beating the elite 4, forgettable music, forgettable characters, fucked up and inconsistent framerate, and bland environments.
XY and ORAS both felt rushed as fuck, hopefully the fact that we still haven't gotten any announcements for a new mainline game means Gamefreak is actually putting some time and effort into the next game.
I mean, if he wants a good story then play B&W but it's not as essential and amazing as /vp/ makes out.
Only other advice I can give to OP is turn off the EXP share if he doesn't want an easy ride.
I guess I'm the only one who plays pokemon games for the postgame collecting, shiny hunt, team raising and training and online battling
>all those people who just want a comfy story and difficult gyms
>Don't listen to /vp/ fags. Skip BW/BW2 entirely.
pretty shit taste man, gen VI has performance issues and is less fun to play because it's too easy
HG/SS and B2W2 are still my favorite entries

If you never made a list like this you haven't really played Pokemon
I never said anything about gen 5 m8
>just because there were more battles than before didn't make the game harder
You're right, not having incredibly underleveled Pokemon did.
>B2W2 are still my favorite entries
This is because you're a pleb who buys virtually the same thing at full price.
Also anyone who likes the stories of the BW games is a complete idiot.
You stopped at gen 3?
There something crucial you need to know
Gen 4 did something really important you need to take note of
And that is the Physical Special split
Meaning that attacks that sound like they are physical or special, will actually be physical or special
Gen 1-3 attacks are physical/special based on type, regardless of what attack it is, it's going to be whatever type is locked as, aka fire is always special, fighting is always physical etc
Now they split it so all types have a physical move and a special move
>I'm finally taking the jump
You went too far. Go back if you know what is good for you.
Where have I mentioned story in my post? HG/SS is very light on the story, I'm talking about the gameplay itself during the campaign.
Triple battles were a fun addition too.
XY had potential but was ultimately disappointing. A low number of new Pokémon that don't really feel better than the usual crop (with Chespin's evolutions being especially disappointing), low level Pokémon during the story despite the EXP share being overpowered, lag because they made Pokémon models too detailed for the 3DS, even when environment textures suck the big one... Gen VI isn't a step forward that's for sure.
not him but
>Little to nothing to do after the E4 compared to the other games.
>only 4 legendaries to catch.
those are my only complaints. Don’t get me wrong, i love the game but it feels weak compared to Platinum or emerald.
>If you never made a list like this you haven't really played Pokemon
>a gen 6 breeding list
Are you proud of yourself for breeding a 5 iv pokemon in gen 6 that you have to show it off? Gen 6 breeding is so fucking easy, you should be embarrassed for posting this.
Friendly reminder than X&Y are officially (as voted by /vp/) the hardest games in the series to nuzlocke (no exp share)
This is non disputable.
X&Y has many dangerous as fuck encounters in a Nuzlocke run.
>Machoke and Mr. Mime double
>All 3 Lysandra battles
>Wobbuffet infested cave
Just to name a few dangers.
Add that in with the HUGE variety of pokemon. Now you may be asking, how does huge pokemon variety per route make the game harder?
Well it's a Nuzlocke, so depending on what you get will influence how hard of a time you'll have in the future.
For example, in my run, I found nothing but flying, normal and 1 fire type pokemon in my run, and thus had a hard as fuck time against the second gym leader. Then, after making it through mirror mother fucking cave, I had fuck all to deal with Korina.
X&Y is the first Nuzlocke of the official games I've ever lost.
I beat it of course, on my second try, but it's legitimately tough, especially if you're playing with the no potions in battle rule.
None of the other mainline games come close to being as tough as X&Y as far as Nuzlockes go.
i haven't tried to nuzlocke any of the gen 6 games myself, but i have watched a few let's plays.
everybody always fails.
like what the fuck, man? i must have watched 3-4 lp's of x and y nuzlockes and everybody always loses
>Friendly reminder than X&Y are officially (as voted by /vp/) the hardest games in the series to nuzlocke (no exp share)
Too bad the main game is piss easy
Just because they either force you to use the EXP share which is incredibly broken doesn't make it hard
I find this hard to believe, I tried to Nuzlocke XY and got 4 badges before stopping due to boredom... My starter never died and was getting fucking swole. Gen V had caves with sturdy pokémon (Ruggenrola) instead of Zubats.
Play gen 4 first.
Platinum and a gen 2 remakes, then BW2 is an absolute must play, and you'll want to play BW before that to get the plot and changes in the world.
I don't really advice to skip gens.
Platinum is harder. Purugly and Skuntank will fuck you up early game, and all the gym leaders starting with gardenia have fully evolved pokemon. Also the double battle on route 215, where two ace trainers just throw out not evolved pokemon, and then WHAM MOTHERFUCKING DRIFBLIM
>X&Y are officially (as voted by /vp/) the hardest games in the series to nuzlocke (no exp share)
That says more about the game's shit distribution of pokemon than the difficulty of the game.
Gen 6 was my first since 2 and it blew my mind how easy it was. Pokemon was never hard but the game just gives everything to you. I think a random villager even gave me a Pokemon at one point. I still had fun with it, just surprised that they made it even more beginner friendly than it already was.
Don't get into Poke'mon unless you want one hell of a time sink. I only played Blue when it came out and decided to get into White when it came out. I got past the third or fourth gym, I forget, when I decided to give up. It's a pretty cool game and a lot of fun but goddamn, it's pretty slow and there's simply too much to fucking do. I feel bad for giving up on a game with "too much content" but my backlog is full of other games I'd rather be playing.
Not him, but my starter got its ass kicked in gym 3, and I dont have anything in the pc right now. Just beat pokeball factory. No specific trainer has taken more than 1 pokemon from me, but my team is looking pretty good right now. Next two gyms should be easy since I got both a Leipard and a Pangoro. Not using exp share.
I'm just rolling with the original rules, same as every game I nuzlocke (which is all of 'em except gen II so far). Catch first poke you see each route, put fainted pokémon into the box.
Trainer pokémon have low levels, so Froakie wrecked the early game. Chespin might be a tougher start since gym 1 is bug-type, but it still felt among the easier titles with the basic rules.
You're in for meh endgame and x/y and everything gets more fuckable.
It's fucking pokemon what the fuck is your deal
>I SURE FUCKING WONDER WHAT I'LL DO IN THESE GAMES
>PROBABLY NOT CATCHING POKEMANS AND BEATING GYMS TO GET TO THE ELITE 4 AND BECOME THE CHAMPION
>NAH THAT'S BULLSHIT POKEMON IS THE MGS OF JRPGS I NEED ATLEAST 20 GUIDES
fucking mouthbreathing moron
Disagree. As I said, I nuzlocke every pokemon game after they come out and X&Y has been the only one that fucked my shit up.
I can't remember having much difficulty with Platinum, but then again, I ran that game years ago so who knows.
The trainers I mentioned are definitely all contenders for run killers though.
They were just off the top of my head anon, I can't remember all of them.
I know the game got easier after the Lysandra battles though.
So who else read this doujin? Is this the only one with delicious brown Serena?
No lad, gen 6 is kinda bad.
You skipped all the good games.
You should really play:
HG/SS- A fucking must, best games in the franchise
Personally I found myself the most engaged in the world BW2 were trying to create. It felt the most organic, like cities are actual cities and not 3 houses and a road. Mostly. And the music is GOAT too.
>Talk about X&Y nuzlockes
>Tfw I'm in the middle of watching projarad's lp now
>Tfw this episode
Watch from 1:48 onwards for some comedy gold.
I for one believe all the shit I hear about how scary X&Y is to nuzlocke.
Just wait for Pokemon Z, you complete retard.
>sending Cubone and Hariyama into Machoke and Mr. Mime
Is this motherfucker serious?
Same boat as OP. Pic related came in the mail yesterday. I bought it in preparation of the gen 1 rerelease. Seems pretty cool but I don't know any of the names... except mudkips from the meme.
Gen 3 was complete garbage and everything that came with it made Pokemon worse.
Gen 5 is objectively the best gen. Anyone who disagrees is blinded by nostalgia.
And Gen 6 was not a highlight either. It wasn't as bad as Gen 3, just incredibly boring and bland.
>Don't want to burn money on a 3DS
>All the 3D just exaggerates how crappy pokemon looks
>There are emulators and 3rd gen rom hacks that are better than official pokemon games these days.
>Hell even touhoumon built their own touhoumon game from the ground up
Not even worth it
>gen VI cucks trying to act superior to anyone
You're even less relevant.
>Personally I found myself the most engaged in the world BW2 were trying to create. It felt the most organic, like cities are actual cities and not 3 houses and a road. Mostly. And the music is GOAT too.
I liked BW's atmosphere better to be honest. It was neat that BW2 showed what happened to the region 2 years after BW and actually continued the story, but the events themselves felt too tacked on. I guess having another evil team fuck around with the same region would be too much, but the Team Plasma plot line really didn't require a follow up, it ended just fine.
Pic related ia cutie though and the movies thing was surprisingly fun. I just hope they won't ruin the eventual remakes.
>Remaking a remake
Surprised people aren't tired of playing red and blue for the 80th time by now
>Play Black and White
>Pokemon designs are fucking awful
>Bland, uninteresting locations
>Unmemorable gym leaders and elite 4
>Idiotic as fuck plot
>Piss easy gameplay, even more so than what is the norm in the pokemon world
>Get bored and drop it after the 2nd gym
Yeah nah, Gen V is absolute trash, with abominations like pic related that pass for "good design".
Best gen will always be 4.
>best touchscreen interaction ever
>had Platinum AND HG/SS
>battle frontier on both
>and tons of postgame anyways
It was the last time Gamefreak cared deeply about the main games.
Holy shit this, playing X now and I want to fuck like every other trainer/gym leader. Artist does god tier girls; can't wait for Pokemon NX to see them in glorious HD.
>You complete the pokedex. You train multiple good teams. Maybe some themed teams. You collect shinies.
Oh, so stuff that literally every game in the series has? The previous games had a shit load of of other stuff to do along side the garbage you listed. What's Gen VI's excuse?
>STILL shitting on pokemon designs
fine, get a bigger load of it
News flash, that Pokémon is LITERALLY trash and it's meant to look that way, you have to be mentally challenged to not see its purpose. I know things like Vanilluxe and Kilinklang might not be very good, but you gotta have some shit taste to think that Galvantula, Golurk, Hydreigon, Volcarona, Zebstrika, Haxorus or Excadrill are bad designs.
By Pokemon standards, Gen V has the best plot by far, even if it doesn't mean anything in a larger scale. It's OST is also fantastic.
And if you are complaining aboout the difficulty, then you definitely haven't play any of the Gen VI games.
>/v/ suddenly likes X/Y
They're just memers trying to get you mad and fool the OP into wasting money on garbage games, just ignore them.
In Black and White you only have gen 5 Pokémon available. No safe reliable options like Oddish or Gyarados are available so you need to catch a Pokémon and train it up to see if you like it. Black2 White2 brings back older mons for the main story if that makes you anxious.
Gen VI is objectively more difficult than gen V.
Those pokemon that you listed have awful designs.
Meanwhile, this is your average Gen VI pokemon. Much better, well thought out designs that aren't edgy shit like Hydreigon.
Nobody likes your meme gen but redditors. Perhaps you should fuck off back to there.
And naturally, I forget to include the picture.
>3 sub par looking pokemon in the entire dex
>The rest are solid 7+/10's
>Over half of the dex is filler trash deviant art tier designs
>the other half ranges from mediocre to pretty good
>No stand out great designs besides Volcarona
I occasionally get the urge to play a pokemon game but I have realized that I don't give a shit about pokemon if it isn't the original 151 and that the biggest reason I liked pokemon was the designs. I just feel like all the new ones are so forgettable and lame looking.
I guess I just want a pokemon x/y style game with a whole new landmass and story but with just the original pokemon
>everyone who hasn't played since gen 1 and 2 came back for X/Y instead of B/W and B/W2
Why insist on missing out on the best recent games?
>people think designs are the only thing that make up Pokémon games
Gen 6 has great designs but there's no fucking postgame in ORAS or XY. There's nothing to fucking do once you complete the linear story.
>>people think designs are the only thing that make up Pokémon games
because it is. there are plenty of JRPGS that have exponetially better gameplay and stories. the designs are the thing that pokemon has going for it. You want to catch them all because they are cool.
Because Facebook told them that the designs are shit, and they actually believed it.
Ass devastated gen V fags on suicide watch because nobody gives a shit about their meme games
>D-d-d-designs don't matter!
In a game where your main objective is raising pokemon, yes, designs matter a great deal you autistic fucks, and gen 5 designs are deviant art tier.
tip top kek
Yeah and you want to use those cool Pokémon to actually do shit with. What's the point of training Pokémon if the Elite 4 is the pinnacle of competition? The Battle Subway and World Tournament were fun as fuck and made catching and breeding those Pokémon worthwhile.
You're the only one butthurt here m8 with your "go back to leddt omg ahh triggered" post m8. You're telling people to get out of your epic secret club just because people don't agree with your opinion.
>Gen 5 designs
Reuniclus is objectively one of the best designs in the whole series. Whimsicott, Darmanitan, Samurott, and Cofagrigus are some other top tier designs. Most Unova mons are great, really. Nothing can come as low as the shitfest that is Gen IV.
sub par looking Pokemon in the entire dex
>every starter and it evolutions except chesnaught and greninja
>the entire scatterbug line
>the entire flabebe line
>espurr and male meowstic
>both mega mewtwos
>mega charizard X
That's a bit more than 3 m8
there's no going back. mega evolution wont be retconned out of existence so it's only downhill from here
>"LOOK MOM, I MADE SOME PEOPLE GET ANGRY ON THE INTERNET"
What's even worse is that you're defending gen VI which is objectively the worst gen right next to III.
Eat shit and die, you cock gobbling redditor.
>think that I would miss out Pokemon
>see all the current gens after 3
>they all look like shit none asked for
Thank god I didn't miss anything
Thank fuck Gamefreak got their shit together after the shitfest that was gen V.
Gen VI was a step in the right direction.
/v/ HAS to argue and make wars about fucking anything. You like Windwaker? That's absurd! You should like Ocarina of Time! You play on Vita? Haha NEVER EVER PC is better. You like this generation of Pokémon? Pfft grow up, the desigjs I grew up with are so much better!! Ice cream ice cream, trash bag trash bag xDDD. It's pathetic tbqh.
The story formula never changes, so just be aware of that. Also your rivals in each gen become decreasingly competitive with you until the most recent gen where they are happy just to be traveling with you.
>barely any content
>virtually no post game
>story is even shittier than the past games
>frame drops out the ass
>game looks hideous
>no battle frontier/battle subway/world tournament type thing
That's my main gripes with it.
No post game and WAY too much Gen I nostalgia fagging.
Just came here to say you should just leave us alone like everyone else has.
If you dont like the thread then hide it, you dont even have to go to that board.
Besides, you are all in no position to judge. /v/tards are some of the dumbest motherfuckers on this planet.
Careful unspoilering the pic, it might piss you off.
>shitting on pokemon designs
>in the year 2016
This is a toughie. How about a load of this?
It's not. /vp/ and the vast majority of this thread actively enjoy X and Y.
What we have here is two diehard gen V fags in full blown damage control mode.
They're desperately trying to save face due to liking the objective worst gen in pokemon history.
>Gamefreak is actually putting some time and effort into the next game.
Spoiler alert, they won't. Even the likes of HGSS, which are marveled by /v/ and /vp/ as the pinnacle of the series, was a copy paste rushed job to cash in on fanboys who played the originals.
>look through the thread
>gen V fags shitting it up as usual
Whine a bit more and maybe they'll go away.
Is it true you degenerates don't consider yourself furfags?
That's some high level delusion.
Some people are really into the Gothic Lolita look and that's fine, it's their tastes. However the family has Shadow Tag for its Hidden Ability and access to item switch moves so that's probably why you see it a lot.
I am embarrassed to call myself a pokemon fan after listening to these gen v autists.
>Designs don't matter
>In a fucking pokemon game
Absolutely retarded. The designs of each pokemon make up 90% of the appeal you stupid cunts.
You cannot get past the fact that gen v has the ugliest looking abominations that the series has ever seen.
Say all you want about gen vi, but at least it has good looking pokemon designs.
Trevnant, Malamar, Pyroar, Noivern, Tyrantrum, Goomy line, Gourgeist, Hawlucha, Dragalge, Honedge line, Pangoro, Meowstic, Gogoat, Clawitzer, Talonflame, Heliolisk, and the starters are all amazing looking mons.
People have been by and large shitting on XY since their release, and I say that as someone who thinks Gen V is pretty much the lowest Pokemon has gone. Don't make shit up about XY being popular, it isn't.
Gen V had the worst character designs.
Like seriously, Hugh and Nate look fucking stupid.
>no Pringles Man jellyfish
>no sunglasses gangster alligator
>no 'Murica bird
Come on man.
There is a reason that pokemon took a massive dive in popularity after they stopped making games/anime/cards based on the gen 1 pokemon.
Will you fucking stop linking /vp/ here you autist. It looks like you're doing the same thing there as well by linking them to this thread. All you're trying to do is start unneeded drama. Stop this shit.
Trying to judge the intellectual level of a board by its posters is retarded. Saying /v/tards are some of the dumbest motherfuckers on this planet while posting on /v/ basically admits you're one of the dumbest motherfuckers on this planet.
I mean, you are, but this has nothing to do with the board you post on and all to do with your intellectual fallacies and shit taste in pokémon.
I would agree, I think Volcanion's color scheme in the film and the art from press release look way better than the colors shown in game
Black 2 and White 2 had the best story and post-game in the series. Also, the single best battle track against Corless. I felt like Black and White were stronger in-game, though, since they only allowed you to catch the newest Pokemon. It made everything feel new and fresh again. More Pokemon games in the future need to do that. It was the most fun I've ever had with a Pokemon game since gen 1.
I'd move Black and White up to God-Tier just for that alone.
It's easy to tell which of you kids started off with Gen V as your first pokemon games.
They're both shit and have both received widespread criticism on /v/ at least. BW have a strong following, however shit they might be. I rarely see a good thing said about XY.
It would seem you are the one asspained, you come every couple of weeks with a new attempt to bring us down but we stay strong and keep living.
You should really consider suicide at this point.
I kinda feel glad for the kids of today that started with Black and White, the Gen 1 games have aged like milk. If you're going to base an entire generation on good the designs of the monsters are, Gen 1 still loses.
It still is. The games are selling more than they every have. You just don't see it on the news anymore because everybody already knows about Pokemon and America isn't saying they're devilspawn anymore.
And it's easy to tell who hasn't played a single game in the series since the fad in the 90s died.
>If you're going to base an entire generation on good the designs of the monsters are, Gen 1 still loses
It loses to other games in the series, sure, but it beats Black and White.
Its either that or the whole board complains we are clogging up the catalog.
As long as people leave us alone we don't do anything wrong, its just one anon that really hates gardevoir for some reason.
Hello 4channers. Redditor here. I feel bad for you so I'd like to use this post as an opportunity to point out that 'contrarian' is what you'd all call a 'reddit word'. As I'm sure you might know, the word contrarian was spread on r/4chan under the name '4chan syndrome', and the post which explains that is one of the highest voted on the sub.
Just wanted to point that out so I could be helpful because of all the good screencaps you guys make. Remember, if you want to spot a true redditor try and see whether he says contrarian basically.
Leaf Green isn't Gen I.
>It's easy to tell who started later in Pokemon than me
>>no, I just prefer the later games
>Yeah, well, Pokemon sucks anyway, nerd
Glad we could have this talk.
A shit game
Try SMT that's not Persona for a monster collecting game not centred around getting your money
Hello reddit! I'd like to point out to you that words belong to no one, and it's entirely possible that words you often associate with one person can in fact be used by others!
>Pokemon will never return to sprites
>Gamefreak will never read a book on programming 3D games
>that kid who said you could combine Plusle and Minun to get a Pichu
>encounter new enemy
>no indication whatsoever what it's weak to
>basically just have to guess
>your health could be whittled down very quickly because you guessed wrong
>game isn't even a challenge once you know
The definition of artificial difficulty.
>Still bitching about muh gens
All of em were shit.
>glitchy shit, bad sprites
>expansion pack, a dead guy had to fix it because GF are hacks, Pokemon distribution
>shitty team and cases of regression alongside remake, sound font , water
>designs, speed, region layout, distribution
>designs, region layout, railroading, start of the more easy games, hard mode implementation
>no post game, plot is worse than unova, pandering, characters, ORAS
Game Freak only do waifus consistently good.
>You guys obviously fucking fap to gardevoir
The demons you encounter in that dungeon usually have the weakness to the boss
It also forces you to have a balanced team of buffers, mages, healers, etc., unlike pokemon, where you can blast through the game with just a charizard
Why was what difficulty the game is your problem again, Pokemon isn't known for difficulty and nowhere do I mention in my post that SMT is good just for its difficulty
designs. the whole point of the games is that you want to catch them all. But in the later gens I don't have that urge because 90% of the pokemon I see are lame looking so I don't care at all. That's why you play pokemon. If I wanted a JRPG with a good story and battle system I wouldn't play ANY of the pokemon gens, because there are a fuckton of other JRPGs that play way better than pokemon does.
>Pokemon designs are fucking awful
Keep cherry picking, friend.
They are both autistic the difference is the gardevoir thread is full of some of the most self righteous, obnoxious, delusional, little dipshits that i have ever seen.
They also cant ignore trolls for because they are retards and that gets so much shit flung at them.
>tfw gooberman won't draw any more porn for one and a half years.
Do you include the 30 and some odd Pokemon that were originally cut from the game and added to Gen 2, or are you being a purist and liking the Bellsprout family and other later designs?
>Looks are subjective
>give "designs" as a reasoning
The designs and lore behind the designs get way more creative as the series goes on.
it's not arbitrary. I've tried to play most of the new gens and went into it with an open mind and all the pokemon I was catching I thought were lame.
this is pretty much exactly how I feel
I haven't actually heard that before and would be curious to see what the cut ones are. And no, bellsprout isn't a favorite of mine. I didn't say absolutely every single one of the gen 1 pokemon are perfect.
>Pocket Animals: No Imagination Allowed Version
Turn of EXP Share and don't fight any trainers you don't have to. It won't be hard but you'll at least feel like you're playing a game.
I know people will say this is "limiting" yourself but it's how I used to play the games as a kid anyway.
Wow, such insightful and meaningful criticism. I forgot how hard it was to have a limited vocabulary and just call everything "shit".
they were not directly put into gen 2, some might have been redesigned like the original weedle evolution becoming ledian, some might have never seen the light of day.
if you think the gen 2 pokemon named in the gen1 index number bulbapedia page represent the actual pokemon that were cut you're an idiot
>They are both autistic the difference is the gardevoir thread is full of some of the most self righteous, obnoxious, delusional, little dipshits that i have ever seen.
Maybe they wouldn't be annoying if people stopped to shit up their thread, genius anon. Just like at the bottom part of >>324389610 pic, the Gardeposters almost never did anything you would consider "Cancerous" when they don't get their thread derailled like now. The people that keep derailling the Garde general are obnoxious than the fans themself. For me, someone who is just autistic is a lot less cancerous than a shitposter that keep derailling a thread about discussing a Pokemon on a Pokemon board, where some/a lot of people even consider a containment thread. In short, just like I said in that post's pic, don't be cancerous and we won't be cancerous in return. But sure, just call me degenerate autist, that will work too.
If you want to make the Krabby family/Clauncher family comparison, use Krabby, not Klingler. That way you have two base evolutions.
Diamond and Pearl suck, get Platinum. HeartGold/SoulSilver are good remakes of gen 2. Black/White and the sequels are the most ambitious games since gen 2. X/Y are boring as fuck and don't try to improve on anything it got right in gen 5.
>I haven't actually heard that before and would be curious to see what the cut ones are. And no, bellsprout isn't a favorite of mine. I didn't say absolutely every single one of the gen 1 pokemon are perfect.
no one knows. there were originally 190 pokemon, it's possible that a lot of gen 2 designs came from those early concepts, munna from gen 5 is also speculated to be one since one trainer in gen 1 mentions a pink mon with a floral pattern. some of the cut pokemon might have never been released. some designs might have never been used, it's a common misconception thinking that all the 39 cut mons were used in gen 2
You're sure excited for calling something bad
Why do people act like newer designs are crap when gen 2 exists? Gen 2 designs are all the crap ones that got cut from Gen 1 because they weren't good enough to fit into the 151 that could fit into the cart. It's all just fucking scraps and plain as fuck designs. At least HGSS is still a pretty good game.
Don't mind me. Just posting the only good game in Gen. 6 so far.
Definitely disagree, platinum did gen4 better.
There's a lack of trainers in jhoto and when you do get a group they all use the same pokemon.
They also seemed to forget that gen2 introduced new pokemon cause you can't get half of the until post/end game.
How is the amount of creativity subjective?
Gen V and Gen I are the two closest gens, so let's compare them.
>Machamp is a ripped monster with four arms. Its lore consists of "It punches really fast".
>Conkeldurr is a ripped monster with concrete pillars it lugs around. It taught the first humans how to make concrete.
>Magnemite is a living magnet. It attaches to other living magnets because they get too magnetized.
>Klinklang is a pair of living gears. They link to other gears to get stronger to create momentum and energy. Since they don't have a heart or any other way of circulating energy through their body, they would die if they stopped rotating.
>Gengar is a shadow. He's scary and turns your dreams into nightmares.
>Chandelure is a mimic. It pretends to be a light to guide you out of danger if you're lost, but it actually just gets you more lost and drains your life energy with its blur flames. Eventually, the people it's leading will completely wither and die.
Please tell me how the amount of visible effort put into lore is subjective.
The newer designs aren't necessarily worse. They're just completely different. The whole design direction isn't anything like the first two gens. But they mix the old Pokemon with the new ones and the designs clash. They don't fit together, so many people just call the new designs shit.
I found everything good about Gen 6 except the difficulty, that being said, catching them all was still really fun and faster breeding and EV. training was amazing. Pokemon Amie is a system seller.
