Where have I mentioned story in my post? HG/SS is very light on the story, I'm talking about the gameplay itself during the campaign. Triple battles were a fun addition too.

XY had potential but was ultimately disappointing. A low number of new Pokémon that don't really feel better than the usual crop (with Chespin's evolutions being especially disappointing), low level Pokémon during the story despite the EXP share being overpowered, lag because they made Pokémon models too detailed for the 3DS, even when environment textures suck the big one... Gen VI isn't a step forward that's for sure.

Add that in with the HUGE variety of pokemon. Now you may be asking, how does huge pokemon variety per route make the game harder?
Well it's a Nuzlocke, so depending on what you get will influence how hard of a time you'll have in the future.

For example, in my run, I found nothing but flying, normal and 1 fire type pokemon in my run, and thus had a hard as fuck time against the second gym leader. Then, after making it through mirror mother fucking cave, I had fuck all to deal with Korina.

X&Y is the first Nuzlocke of the official games I've ever lost.
I beat it of course, on my second try, but it's legitimately tough, especially if you're playing with the no potions in battle rule.

None of the other mainline games come close to being as tough as X&Y as far as Nuzlockes go.

Gen 6 was my first since 2 and it blew my mind how easy it was. Pokemon was never hard but the game just gives everything to you. I think a random villager even gave me a Pokemon at one point. I'm just rolling with the original rules, same as every game I nuzlocke (which is all of 'em except gen II so far). Catch first poke you see each route, put fainted pokémon into the box.

Trainer pokémon have low levels, so Froakie wrecked the early game. Chespin might be a tougher start since gym 1 is bug-type, but it still felt among the easier titles with the basic rules.

News flash, that Pokémon is LITERALLY trash and it's meant to look that way, you have to be mentally challenged to not see its purpose. In Black and White you only have gen 5 Pokémon available. No safe reliable options like Oddish or Gyarados are available so you need to catch a Pokémon and train it up to see if you like it. Black2 White2 brings back older mons for the main story if that makes you anxious.

Black 2 and White 2 had the best story and post-game in the series. Also, the single best battle track against Corless. I felt like Black and White were stronger in-game, though, since they only allowed you to catch the newest Pokemon. It made everything feel new and fresh again. More Pokemon games in the future need to do that. It was the most fun I've ever had with a Pokemon game since gen 1.

I'd move Black and White up to God-Tier just for that alone.
