If you use the:

Claymore, Zweihander, Great Sycthe, Balder Side Sword, Fury Sword, Gravelord Sword, Falchion, or any of the Black Knight weapons, Pursuers/Dark Bead you are terrible at Dark Souls.

I meet people using these weapons in PvP constantly, and I always wipe the floor with them.

Anyway, I just started a run with the Zweihander. I was never much for STR weapons in Dark Souls 1, so going through the game with just the Zweihander and no shield is interesting. Wouldn't call it hard though.

remember how they nerfed the claymore, the only good strength weapon in dark souls, while not nerfing the OP dex weapons?

I haven't played since the DLC patch hit, but unless they changed the mechanics of the 2H rolling attack, you won't be able to poise tank through it or even parry it. It was the single most broken attack in the game for PvP dueling.

Magic being broken doesn't matter because they don't think in terms of builds and to them there is no reason to not pic up various anti-magic spells.

Are there any good dex weapons you can make with a boss soul? Dragonslayer Spear requires a lot of strength and its damage output isn't all that great, Priscilla's Scythe is fucking garbage and the rest is strictly strength based.

The best dex weapon I knoe of is Great Scythe, but it has a whatever moveset and Silver Knight Spear, though you can't buff that shit and it's kinda whatever during boss fights.

it's been so long since i played Ds1 i'll just post a screenshot of my last char since i don't recall the names of equipment,
i tried to make a Dex based char so i dressed lightly and carried the lightest heavy shield with that katana that remove HP every time you hit.
i don't know why i thought of that but i played this way for the whole game and never got any problem.

I like it heavier.
