Did we play the same game anon? Because it was plagued with most of the same issues as Heroes control and camera wise. The platforming was next to nonexistent in most of the levels too, especially when it came to levels like Central City and the Ark levels

No but it sounds like you havent played it at all. The best part of shadow was that it fixed how slippery heroes felt. There was barely any camera problems, the only sonic games with camera problems are the adventure games, everything else is a meme. Cosmic fall, circus park, sky troops, lethal highway, and digital circuit are just a few examples of good 3D platforming in the game

The werehog is much closer to dmc than shadow will ever be. Why are you being so obtuse

Anyway, I probably spent the most time playing Shadow over the other Sonic games I had. So I know how terrible the controls were, the only thing they fixed were the framerate and the rail mechanics so you wouldn't fly off the edge so often like the prior games. The controls were still absolute ass whenever it got too fast.

I don't even think Cosmic Fall can be considered an actual platformer unless you go by the literal definition in the sense that 90% of the level you're just jumping down to the next platform.
Lethal Highway for the most part is just a straight line because you have to follow the ship for the majority of the stage. Next to no platforming literal or otherwise. Even the poles were pointless because there was always a rocket to send you up to the top anyway. I suppose the novelty of that level comes from Sonic saying something out of character like "damn".

Sky Troops is for the most part okay until you realise that the only good platforming sections occur when you're in the walker and there's only like two in the stage.

Digital Circuit has some actual platforming, but again it's of the simple variety and the light-speed circuit had the most annoying sound effect known to man.

I think Circus Park is the only level that had decent enough platforming to be expected from a Sonic game.

There was no frame rate problems in heroes unless you were playing the sucker edition on ps2, but shitty ps2 ports was common because of how weak it was. Shadow actually had frame rate problems with explosions

Adventure, hands down. Adventure gets shit on far more than it deserves. I really do think that is a perfect game for me.

The soundtrack really is one of the best things about Adventure though. There were some real gems, some great and goofy cheesey songs, and level tracks that I still have in my head.

And here you were trying to accuse me of not playing a game that said I'm only about 20 stars into Galaxy 1 but the game has already beaten the amount of platforming that was found within Shadow the Hedgehog by far especially since there are no redundant mechanics, all of them have a use unlike shadow's wall running which was solely there to look cool since you couldn't maintain the run without jumping to another wall.

Talk about no difficulty, in both versions of the game the levels were just outright tedious than difficult. They stretched on way past the point a 3D platformer should, Eggmanland being the biggest culprit of this.

Also why would you want another 3D platformer Sonic?
At their best they've been okay Generations almost got the 3D space platforming down but the Boosting games don't really have the physics to deal with that kind of movement. Sonic should really make a return to 3D instead of trying to master the impossible and translate it into 3D space while retaining the platforming. I mean, Lost World gave it a try but ultimately physics and extra gimmicks let it down again on both versions.

Fair point Sonic Generations Classic level design was ass and the only good Classic levels in the 3DS game were the ones that were ones that copied the Mega Drive games exactly.

I really dont give a fuck what you think because i have a very specific set of standards for 3D platformers. A good amount of shadow stages had it. The fluddless levels in mario sunshine had it. Bowser castle levels in mario 64 had it. The werehog had it. Champion road, the only good level in the 3D games had it. Mario games are more about walking around than actually jumping and i notice this very very carefully so theyre by and large utter shit to me and am never touching another one after the travesty that was 3D world. There was to many gimmicks and spheres in galaxy, and mario controlled like a tank that lost all momentum when jumping but there was still a shred of decent levels in them so i beared with it. The last level in galaxy 1 in particular was really good and made up for all the shitty collecting coins, racing boos, stair hopping tier platforming, and waggling to watch mario fly through space.

98% of the platforming is done in 2D and the 3D sections, like silent forest and windy hill acts 1, have a few decent 3D sections but its mostly just a slowed down sonic that has neither speed, making it a thrilling spectacle to watch and play, or platforming that heroes and shadow had, making it a very cheap feeling game that again used 3D merely to remind the player that sonic can go fast (last seen in colors).
