Because most of the people who play girls in RPG games are just playing waifu and they enjoy having complete control of a female, albeit a fictional one. Some other people hate themselves so much, that they can't even create a male character in their likeness to pretend they are the one slaying dragons, instead, they might create a girl that they can control (because they usually can't even get a real girl to look at them) to slay the dragon. I've thought about this a lot, because many of my friends like playing as girls in games instead of making themselves. Like, I understand the "escape" element, that's cool. But why would you not want to see yourself liberating a kingdom from an evil lich lord? This is strictly talking about RPGs where you have complete control of your character creation, mind you. Making an elf girl mage every once in awhile is fun, but if you never create a rad mage or warrior dude thats supposed to be you, then I'll assume you have self-esteem issues to the point where you can't even believe that you're worth something even in a fantasy world. I also may be thinking about this way too much.

I just can't be interested if it's not a female character. I didnt buy wither 3 and other games because of this. In fighting games i only pick females and occasionally creatures. If it's a game like wasteland 2 I only create females, etc.

WHY do people insist on giving armor ludicrously edgy, and/or impractical designs? Have they NEVER seen a suit of arms before? Do they not know shoulder pauldrons DON'T actually have to be the size of your head?

There are only very few universes I've seen where armor was handled appropriately. WH40K at least has the excuse of saying "hey, technology is sacred, the design stays because changing it is illegal."

I have no problem with a game's main character being a girl, very rarely are they hot-headed, reckless glory hounds nor stupidly innocent and pure Waifus either.
