Which is better Fire Emblem or Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones for the Wii U Virtual console? I'm planning on purchasing and downloading one or the other from the Nintendo shop and wanted to know which is superior or should be played first /v/?
Fire Emblem was MADE to be the first Fire Emblem you play since it was the first one released in the west.
It's completely arguable which one of them is best but the gameplay is pretty much exactly the same in both, except Fire Emblem comes with a fucklong tutorial and is less complicated. Play that first.
Start with Fire Emblem. It's literally made to be the first one you play. The first arc of the game is a tutorial. Even if characters die in that section, they come back later to join you as Eliwood. That said, they're both great and if you like strategy RPGs, you'll probably like FE and buy SS later.
No chillrins? What all games has chilrins?
Advanced Wars sucks in comparison, the story and the units, meh. Advanced Wars gets mundane really quickly. I was obsessed with that game for about a month and then got bored and haven't picked it up since, except getting the second installment and getting bored within the first hour.
Never have tired of Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem is objectively better on all fronts.
No there's not. If that were true you wouldn't be able to download the original Ocarina of Time
Also here's the two fire emblems mentioned
Know your facts before I wreck your facts bitch.
Both are great, Sacred Stones is a little more open because you can move around an overworld map, grind some levels if you want, and go to shops to buy things. I think it makes for a better entry point into the series for those reasons.
Speaking of FE, I'm playing Awakening right now. Just to be clear, all that children inheritance stuff is aimed for the PvP, isn't it? I can ignore all that altogether if I plan just to play the campaign, can't I?
sacred stones is easy as fuck, play regular fire emblem
if the girls arent getting married, then the kids wont show up and you miss out on a mission per kid. what skills they get doesn't really matter all that much in single player, just makes an easy game easier if you go autist mode. pair up whoever you want
Ok, thanks. It's just that I saw the Galeforce for Lucina stuff and I was getting stressed. Getting 25 levels for Sumia seems like something that requires planning, and I prefer to use all the characters I can. I'm just playing classic hard, and I plan to ignore all the kids other than Lucina, so I don't think I need to go that deep.
I need muh waifu simulator. You know Genealogy of the Holy war has marriage and kids too...go play that game. You won't make it
Why has no one brought up Bengahzi in this thread? Are you all Hillary shills or what? Come on step it up /pol/
>more about actual tactics
Thanks for the keks anon.
I only care about the relationships because of the children. I never was going to pair of my FE Awakening people until I discovered there were children when Chrom proposed automatically to Sully... didn't even know there were children.
I was pissed when he proposed to her because I didnt want any relationships, then when I found out there were kids I started caring and pairing people off.
Is that available on virtual console for anything?
Who Gaiden here? It desperately needs a remake
Old as shit and only had a nip release thats why. Plus 1 and 3 got one
>brain dead easy on its hardest difficulty outside of a select few maps
>characters balanced so much in the player's favor you can reliably use almost any unit with no drawbacks including the pre-promotes
>king of LTC is the Oifey you get in the goddamn prologue
>map grinding and the tower in addition to arenas
>skills return, but only for a select few classes and they only get one
>one of which, pierce, can crash the game under the right conditions
>holy weapons handed out like candy at the halfway point
>route split only matters for giving Boring McNoStr or Meathead flavor text after the routes converge
>characters have less depth than fucking Awakening with the sole exception being Joshua
>Lyon eclipses Nergal in being an edgy retard
>Erika is more bland than Lyn, Marth and Roy
>shitty GBA era CON system
And this is why I'm not totally on board with Marx's name change.
Who /ROCKSOLID/ here?
>muh /v/ hates anything popular
Don't you have an Undertale thread to be circlejerking in?
That doesn't change the fact that he's the only worthwhile person who can use axes. Gonzales has accuracy problems in a game where enemies have evade and axes have one of the shittiest hit rates in the whole series.
>enemy has 2% chance to crit
It only did 15 damage and Ike has 60 HP, but fuck you.
Also you guys would fuck my shit up for my team
the not chosen ones at the bottom are backup
Didn't Hitler have a grand admiration for Perceval?
>crits do triple damage
>in a game with permadeath
family, where's roy's future wife?
No. That is the nature of opinions. If you can't handle dissent and back up your shit taste then fuck off to some other site.
Two of them have the con of little girls to wield them properly and the other falls of before even having the opportunity to promote.
That while Ogier is an irrelevant mercenary because you still have Deke going when you get him and Eckidna comes as a pre promote too early without significant enough bases for you to want to use her. With a girly con to wield axes.
I like Fire emblems character selection better than sacred stones
all sacred stones has for me is is Marissa, everyone is just meh
Which class has the best sprites and why is it General?
Finally someone said it, If you don't like PoR or at least RD then you actually have cancer
I dont like the art style at all and the graphics and animations are god awful compared to the gameboy games, I do however like all the new shit like daggers, biorhythm, the way elemental magic works
this is coming from someone who only mostly played the GBA games
FE6 is more of the same, but the RNG is more unforgiving (lower numbers have better odds and higher numbers had lower odds) so that might trip you up.
FE13 is still worth playing at least once. If you dive deep into FE you'll probably end up hating it, but you should at least hate it not just because some strangers on the internet told you to.
FE9 is pretty much all around great. FE10 has some noticeable flaws, but is still liked.
FE11 isn't great but is better than the original in every way. FE12 is better, but has some weird things that it added. Both of these are remakes.
FE2 is not worth playing.
FE4 is good if you really want to dive deep into unit individuality. No trading, everyone has their own gold pool, relationships where characters pass on weapons to their children. Not crazy difficult, but not the easiest. Crazy long maps and you can save and the beginning of every turn.
FE5 is the hardest and likes to fuck with you. Go for this one last if at all.
Sorry for the complete lack of order to this.
>FE6 is more of the same, but the RNG is more unforgiving (lower numbers have better odds and higher numbers had lower odds) so that might trip you up.
Every game after FE5, starting FE6 uses true hit, stop spreading misinformation. People speak as if FE6's is different because they miss more often, this only happens because all weapons that aren't swords, Fire and Excalibur have shitty hit rate and enemies actually have competent stats and Luck for dodging.
>when an enemy crits your Marshall, but it does zero damage
who /impenetrable wall/ here?
>Playing FE Fates
>Just finished chapter 24
Lilith just got killed
I know I should care about these characters, but they make it pretty hard when they have paper-thin personalities and significance to the story.
>Start replaying Path of Radiance
>Oscar hasn't gained a single point of strength and went a level with only HP rising
>Boyd got a level where only magic and resistance went up
>Only Soren's skill went up
>Ike on the other hand has only had 2 levels where everything didn't go up
I don't know how to feel about this.
Path of Radiance is plenty easy anyway. A few bad levels won't kill you.
