What is the most secret, hidden area in video games?
Is it the Top Secret Area in Super Mario World?
I would think the Chris Houlihan room would be up there, especially since it's not so much a secret to be discovered but an error condition that puts you in that room when there's a bug.
It's something i'd never think to do. The first ghost house, you run to the right until the first gap. Then you run all the way left and fly up and to the left up through the hole in the ceiling. Run all the way to the right, and that's the secret exit.
Mom bought the guide book so that's how we knew.
In Super Paper Mario, there's a part where you drop into a stage as Giant 8-bit Mario, who can only move forward. It's either the first or second time I can't remember. Anyway, after you're done trashing through the entire level, if you for whatever reason decide to run back to the beginning through the mayhem left behind, and keep going left beyond the point where you dropped from, you will find a lone sign at the end of the level written in dutch.
What this says, nobody knows. If somebody turns on their game and takes a picture of it though, I have a dutch friend on Facebook I can show it to.
How likely is it that there are yet undiscovered secrets in very popular games, even to this day? I think it's plausible, because of that new sidequest or something that was only just discovered in an old Final Fantasy game a few years ago.
I'd always hoped that Rockstar DID put Bigfoot into a select few discs on ps2 somehow. That he would exist in the data files on those discs, but completely removed for the real run of discs.
Yoshi's island has a secret room in one of the boss castle, where it's full of Little Chan Chomp
>they won't tell us.
It's a Japanese thing
Not sure what it is, but its funny to them.
I've gotten that method to work a few times, you just reset, start from the sanctuary and dash left/down/right/down/right/up and fall into the hole you had to go into to find your uncle at the beginning of the game.
>reverse image search it
>find a name
>search for it on torrent sites

I sure, you didn't even try to get a 12, but you did
What are some recent games with secret areas and easter eggs? last I remember was Kirby Triple Deluxe
>there are people on /v/ who haven't found all the HAL rooms or gotten the 30up bonus at the end-stage minigame
Don't lie lazy cunt, even the thumbnail works
Man you're bad.
Happy fap bro
Shadow Warrior had some secret areas and easter eggs referencing the original game and with powerups and whatnot, and Underrail has secret areas with loot and a couple item/dialogue easter eggs.
The Talos Principle was absolutely filled with them.
My favorite "secret" area is in Antichamber, where they have a long ass wall showing 7 years of prototype screenshots.
For a while, I thought I was the only one that was bored enough to discover the secret captain VA switch event in THPS3.
i think i knew about it because in super mario bros 3, there was a hidden whistle in the castle. i think i just copied that because the ghost house was a pretty new addition to the series, and found it.
what bothers me is that in gamecenter CX, they didn't know about this or the stage in the forest to gather lives. instead they used some shitty trick that wasted time.
Bloodborne had some fantastic secrets but you don't hear much about it, I guess because everyone found out about them through the internet 0.1 seconds after release.
>take a secret path through a cave and back through the starting area to get around a door you couldn't open and get a letter that you take to an assuming location and if you've beaten the boss you get whisked off to a whole elaborate as fuck but optional location
>talk to a random ass npc that's behind a door that looks the same as any other door for an item, let a particular enemy kill you with this item to get to another optional location with loads of stuff to do and a callback to a previous game
>drop through a random hole in a fence to get a key to another optional location with one shit boss but also another god tier boss and an area with ANOTHER secret in that which allows you to revive a particular npc
The key to Upper Cathedral, the key which is hidden in that one area with the respawning old hags and the Amygdala laser blasting the floor. Then the boss of Upper Cathedral is that alien but if you break through a window you didn't know you could break through you can fight Ebrietas.
>Action 52 is a terrible unlicensed cartridge containing 52 terrible games, a bundle which retailed for $200. If you played each game for a week, it would be the worst year of your life.
The best kept secret is the gameplay. It's cleverly hidden behind bullshit controls
nobody who uses reddit can play it
as you start the game it asks 'what sites do you use most?' and it'll have options like 'reddit' 'google' 'yahoo' and if reddit is checked...the computer explodes with no explanation
More of a year ago the dev of Fez said that was still untouched secrets, but not everybody think is true
