Nope. Wait for a year. Then it should have games by that time.
Stick with the Wii U for the time being.
What would be the unironically best name for a new console?
Depends if there's a game you really want to play at the time
I bought a WiiU on launch for NSMBU not knowing that NSMB was a thing. The nostalgia was immense.
Then it pretty much lay dormant until Rayman
I sold my Wii U and kind of regret it now. Hoping the NX is backwards compatible and if it is then this will be my first Day One console purchase.
I would buy one just for Spla2n.
Nintendo NX will release in november 2017 under the final name "Hyper Nintendo". It will be a hybrid between home console and handheld, you'll be able to hook it up to a TV or take it with you and play on the go. Price point will be a bit higher than normal for Nintendo but in return it'll be about equal to PS4 in power.
It will launch with the following:
>Zelda U (will also be on Wiiu but a NX version will be developed at the same time)
>Mario Party 11
>Animal Crossing NEXT!
Depends what comes out the same day.
I didnt buy the WiiU for like half a year
and that was only because there was a good deal on it. i think at the time, the only good game out was MH3U
A COUPLE multiplats, and probably old ones. Like Deus Ex HR and Batman when the Wii U launched. I wouldn't be shocked to see the next Deus Ex and another title at launch. The Metroid thing is just speculation, though.
pssst... the nx will be an android box that can play mobile games and proprietary nx software and the controller will be an iphone screen.
it won't be. its just a little stronger than the wii u
and like i said "the nx is a pseudo android box that can play mobile games and proprietary nx software and the controller will be an iphone screen"
if you don't believe me wait and see
I don't care about their profits, I care about them making the NX as good as it can be with no compromises just because they need to fit shit in there that makes it play GC, Wii and Wii U games
>we don't even know what it does, let alone what games it has
>I'm going to buy it, no matter what it is
You are right, but 11 is.
>Smash U (might as well be, playing this on a handheld is retarded)
>Super Mario Maker
I used to do that whwn i was younger. Now that im older i realize how stupid it was. So many hard to get games....forever gone.
>mfw all those patents
I seriously cant wait for this thing to get revealed, cause this thing sounds fucking retarded
If he named "any exclusives" kirby captain toad and wonderful 101 woud be there
Hey wait a minute, he didnt list Wonderful 101, fuck that guy
> 10 good exclusives
> selling less in 4 years than the DC did in 2
What do you think everything from wii,nx and wiiu came from. DC was a peripheral machine and pretty much started that trend. It also had the vmu which even had its own games. It's hard to argue whether Sega or Nintendo had Internet first. Thry even had ideas for satellite but Sega was the first to do it functionally
That's going to depend on what the console actually is, and what the launch titles and upcoming games are.
Nintendo should really make better use of their franchises, we haven't seen a new Wave Race in ages and the newest Pilotwings game they made was a fucking joke.
its been a fun ride guys but I think this is where I get off. I have consoles from 2nd gen to current. and I love and replay them all the time. but I think its getting to the point where I say i've had enough.
Wii-U was a flop, and would have been a total waste if not for Wii BC.
Xbone has nothing interesting.
PS4 has some cool titles but nothing worth spending $400 for.
Modern vidya just isnt for me.
>tfw upgrade cycles are getting shorter but technology progress is slowing down
I'm not a retard nor an unconditional permavirgin basement dwelling autistc 30+ year old hot pocket stained NETT manchild
depends a lot on what they do with the system. and games. There was no incentive to be an early adopter of the wii u, me and friends held off til monster hunter 3 ultimate and played the shit out of it together
As a Nintendo fan since the NES days, I can safely say: I'm sick of old Nintendo IPs.
Do I love Mario, Zelda, pokemon, Metroid, Kirby, Fzero, Mother? Sure.
Do I like seeing a new game of theirs come out every year? No.
>2D mario hasnt gotten any better mechnically then SMB3 in nearly 30 years.
>3D mario was good up until galaxy, then it got overdone and overplayed with things like Galaxy 2 and 3D land
>Mario RPGs were cute with SMRPG, Paper and Superstar Saga, but didnt need 4+ Sequels.
>Zelda has stagnated since OOT. Windwaker was the last interesting thing they ever did because it was different, TP was Abysmal and SWS beyond awful.
>Pokemon refuses to evolve and stays the same Gen 1 rehashed trash despite the amount of marketing and potential it carries.
>Last good 2D Metroid game was Super, Last good 3D was prime 3 and yet people are going bonkers to sully that even further with more shitty additions
>people are SCREAMING for MOTHER 4 despite the fact the trilogy is fucking DONE.
>Chibi robo, a game that was actually a fantastic standalone IP, got shoehorned 4 sequels, and ended with a terrible add on nobody wanted..
The only decent game to come out that didnt feel like a complete rehash of an old IP this generation was Tropical freeze. Everything else feels like hollow shells of better games that already existed. TF actually went and FIXED problems people complained about for years with DKC, Where as mario kept the same exact problematic mechanics and leaps of faith.
Icarus, Splatoon, Style Savvy, STEAM were all breaths of fresh air, whether they sold well or not, they were NEW. Nintendo needs to focus more on NEW ideas, not the same rehashed cash cows over and over.
Its worse then dreamworks when it comes to beating something into the ground.
They've already said that the NX is going to be a different experience in comparison to the Wii U and 3DS and amiibos are a success. NX is obviously going to be an amiibo box, closer to a toy than a game console. Nintendo is going full circle by becoming a toy company again.
I'll be buying it on day 1 because after they gave away like 10 fucking games to 3ds owners I think its time I got in early. Aslong as it launches with atleast one OK game I'll buy it, I missed the WiiU for a long time because NintendoLand looked like a demo disc.
>do wonder trade
>you get pokemon at random from someone without knowing what it is before
>trade a zigzagoon and get a Gengar in return
Even every three years. Why do you feel the need to beat something good into the ground?
Theres no reason for 20 something mario games if only 5-6 of them are worth playing.
You have 9, count them, NINE. metroid games to play, and you cry about not getting anymore. Have you ever stopped to think just how entitled you sound about that?
