Marche wanted to take his friends and brother back home. He was surprised when they all wanted to stay and so he reminded them of what they were missing back home, or more importantly who would miss them.
>>324248530 They haven't really made a good one since the GC one, having bought most of the games that came after, I can say that it just never captured the fun of the original. Love me the Yukes though.
>>324248691 Yeah, no, the sequels are legitimately awful and mostly serve to rape the original's lore, but SE never does direct sequels well. The original is still my favorite game they've ever made and one of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had.
Yukes and Selkies were master race. Timing those dodges to facetank the boss's biggest moves was the tightest shit, and fast-casting shit sure didn't hurt.
>Kefka is so cool he technically wins by borking the world half way through the game!
Nigga, by the beginning of FFII Emperor already killed most of the human population and covered the earth in Demons
Fucking creates a giant tornado of death and just goes around razing entire landscapes like it is no big deal
This fucking nigger sold his soul to Satan, and when he died, back stabs the mother fucking prince of darkness
In Dissidia he literally ran that shit. He was fucking both Ultimecia and Cloud of Darkness on the side. He made Jecht his bitch. While the heroes were all looking for their Crystals of Light, Emperor had already discovered the Crystals of Darkness.
This nigga literally had Kefka ON HIS PAYROLL. When Kuja tried to play miss little goodie two shoes, this nigga SENT Kefka to fuck his shit up
He literally sent Kefka with a baseball bat to bust that fags kneecaps
You don't fuck with Emperor man. He is probably the slickest mother fucking villain in the series. No surprise Firion is top tier in Dissidia Arcade and can take 3 players on at once. He had to deal with this nigga his entire journey.
While I enjoyed FF13-2, I thought Caius was a fucking retarded villian. But pretty much everything about that games plot was dumb. It's interesting and engaging when you're getting it by piecemeal, but if you stop and think over it all, or play through it a second time, there's no real understanding it, at least not without accepting some bullshit as a given.
>>324249587 It's like you didn't even bother to learn the side content and play the sequels Let me explain it >Mwynn creates the universe >Bhuni her son usurps her position and kills her >Bhuni is convinced his mom cursed the universe into having to end up destroyed >creates new deities Pulse and Etro >accidentally makes Etro in his mom's image >gives Etro no purpose and she kills herself for it >Etro's blood creates humans and she goes to the unseen realm, the realm of chaos, the afterlife basically >Etro meets Mwynn in the unseen realm, and becomes the goddess of death >Mwynn dissolves into the chaos >Bhuni creates Lindzei to take up Etro's place >Bhuni tells Lindzei and Pulse to find a way into the unseem real to find Mwynn because he doesn't know she's gone >Bhuni goes to sleep and will wake up when they find a way to the unseen realm >The door to the unseen realm, Etro's gate, will be torn open in the case of such a huge amount of deaths that the usual passageway for a soul to the underworld will be broken by an enormous amount of souls passing through at the same time >Lindzei and Pulse create fal'cie with precise predefined functions >fal'cie a demigods and pulse and cocoon fal'cie wage war hoping to cause enough death to bust open Etro's gate >Barthandelus is programmed by Lindzei >Lindzei obviously programmed him to maintain cocoon but also to open Etro's gate >Barthy makes up a convoluted plan to destroy cocoon and open Etro's gate by using the death population of cocoon >Anima knows that crashing cocoon will kill everyone and he tries to stop him by branding people and telling them to kill Barthy, Orphan and then save Cocoon
I didn't think Orphan was that bad. He was essentially forced into an existence he wanted no part of, and forced to be a life support for people he didn't give a shit about. He was butthurt about it, so the only way to go out was to have L'Cie kill him.
I can't speak for Caius because XIII-2 plot didn't make a lick of sense.
>>324251238 They didn't know they could save cocoon before they destroyed orphan, which technically is what triggered the destruction of cocoon. Pretending they were doing something different just because they said they were is not actually doing something different.
You can't be different "in spirit" when you do exactly as you were preordained to do.
>>Anima knows that crashing cocoon will kill everyone and he tries to stop him by branding people and telling them to kill Barthy, Orphan and then save Cocoon
You know I keep seeing this part, but I've never found a source for it. Even if Anima is the protector of the Oerba village, meaning her task is to foster humanity. Wouldn't her job also to be killing everyone to open the Gate? Now people will say that the vision shows Ragnarok as it appeared in the end, so therefore she must've wanted to save Cocoon, except that is shown nowhere and since Fal'Cie aren't omniscient (they feel despair) she can't have known that Etro would intervene. Meaning the party's focus is "destroy Cocoon." Sazh even says this at the end "That qualifies as a demolition. Focus complete." And we know this has weight, since XIII is written so badly that everything means exactly what is said and none of the villains ever lie either. Meaning this is word of God.
>>324251238 >it was just 2deep4u No it was bad writing and bullshit.
Some of these villains have lived for 100's of years and they haven't thought of a different or better solution in all that time? They are somehow more powerful and smarter than everyone else in existance and they still get fucked over by logical questions like "Do we even know if destroying cocoon will even do what we claim it does? Do we have any proof?"
>>324252153 Hope doesn't know that they can save cocoon before the two lesbians turn into Ragnarok and splooge crystal jizz everywhere. Hope was a fucking idiot the whole time, I don't care how cool pun intended, as well as not intended his summon was, he was a dumbass the whole time, and got a lot of people killed, especially in the beginning.
>>324252084 The vision shows the ragnarok Fang x Vanille fusion, summoning the crystal pillar Anima isn't omniscient he just hopes they make it Sazh is just comic relief and just made a joke The villains lie constantly, especially Barthy >>324252127 They do have proof Lindezi and Pulse told them Barthy was created by Lindzei with a specific task Of course he knows it will work Obviously there is a better plan, killing Etro But Etro is ALREADY in the unseen real and that's where they want to go, so they can't reach her >>324252307 Hope was just mad for a while, he's no idiot, he's the leader of the Academy when he's 24 They did have a plan and Vanille and Fang made it Obviously the ending is a giant FFVII homage so that's why it looks like that
>>324247285 FFTA is a perfect example of "show don't tell", if they had SHOWN the player that the world was an illusion then nobody would doubt that Marche was doing the right thing. But there's no reason to think that it's an illusion and you grow to care about the characters, then you erase Montblanc, Shara, Ezel, Babus, and everybody else you interacted with for everything outside the tutorial snowball fight in the end. And if they somehow survive then it ruins the point of it being an illusion in the first place.
>>324252572 While it looks impractical, I think it is nice to look at, if nothing else. And considering its not being made into a game and the soul purpose of it is to get you to look at it, I think it does its job very well.
>The vision shows the ragnarok Fang x Vanille fusion
It does. I said that.
>summoning the crystal pillar
Incorrect. It only show Ragnarok cracking the bottom of Cocoon.
>The villains lie constantly, especially Barthy
He never utters a single lie. The closest he comes to that is that he threatens the party that he will tell the Cavalry that Orphan is pulling the strings, which is also true. It's a half-truth, but a truth nonetheless. He consistently tells the party what he wants them to do and why. They do it, while spouting that its meaning is different even if the actions and consequences are the same.
Also Anima is not fucking benevolent. In the supplementary material she's quite uncaring and strict, although not as cruel as her priesthood.
>>324253362 It shows the pillar, I remember it In my 2nd playthrough I immediately recognized it And Barthy lies Remember him turning into Serah? He spoke of Orphan as if he were already alive The Cavalry bullshit he told He lied about their focus And sure Anima wasn't exactly benevolent but she wasn't as bad as Barthy
The Cavalry thing is only a lie in the sense that the Cavalry never had a chance to win since Eden will immediately Ciethify them. He needed the attackers to be l'Cie. That's the half-truth. I disagree with all of those being lies, since their Focus was to destroy Cocoon. Except the Serah thing actually now that I rewatch it. It was just always so blatantly him, that I never registered it as him lying. Just trying to make them mad. But I guess I rescind the never part.
Anyway the original point: You keep saying this. Where is your proof, an interview, Ultimania, somesuch. How do you know it's just not your headcanon?
>>324254804 It's the only thing that makes sense You can say it's headcanon but I see no other way it can be Why would their focus show Ragnarok saving cocoon? The video clearly shows that weird million-lava hands that raise cocoon Also you gotta love how they spoil the ending on the fucking boxart and after a few hours but you can't know
Let me tell why Caius is the best. He won at the end of the game. Doesn't matter if you win half way, doesn't matter if you kill God, because at the end of the game, you get your shit kicked in by the good guys. Other bad guys may have won major battles, but they lost the war. Caius is the only one who wins in the end. It took a sequel for him to be beaten, and even then he could not be done so. He's the only guy that gets to float in your face because he actually won.
>Why would their focus show Ragnarok saving cocoon? But it doesn't (necessarily).
>The video clearly shows that weird million-lava hands that raise cocoon Or they're just in lava. Also the shot doesn't exactly show them lifting anything yet. There is after all a shot that would show that better.
>It's the only thing that makes sense Or the fighting fate thing is actually somewhat true thematically but not at all in practice and while every fal'Cie wanted them to kill everyone by destroying Cocoon. Destroying Cocoon isn't the same and Fang x Vanille managed to find a loophole that saves everyone (actually only two thirds officially, but that's not really brought up much, XIII-2 takes some steps towards calling attention to it, but eh.). This is more in line with the themes, if they have any value.
>Also you gotta love how they spoil the ending on the fucking boxart and after a few hours but you can't know I liked it. It was nice. They did the same with IX.
>When our earthly vessels meet their end, the souls they housed must leave this world. Would the path of their migration not be the same one as our departed gods? Must they not pass through the same doorway the Divine employed to reach that place that lies beyond? >If this is the case, it stands to reason that, should a great many lives at once be cut short, a flood of souls would surge through the aforementioned portal. The Door would be thrown wide, and perhaps we might even glimpse the gleaming light of Divinity beyond.
It wasn't as much make God wonder what the fuck was going on out of his own volition and more open a doorway to His realm.
