In all fairness, they don't really explain what "Hard Mode" is in this game.

You're not supposed to play it on Hard your first time, it's meant for NG+.

Because even if you do well, you get too much exp and too much gold too early in the game and the rest of the game is easy after you get out of the early stages. They designed it this way for the higher level curves, not the lower ones.

They balanced the game around it being a NG+ feature. It is beatable still but it was a pretty stupid idea to make it that way especially when you factor in the party system.

I find the game fun, but it is seriously flawed. Being built around parties for a game like this is a bad idea, it's like they made a game then made AI to play itself. The stagger system isn't very well made. Everything takes way too much time from traveling to wandering around town to item management. Even the fighting takes forever especially if you are not playing with pawns (I found one enemy in an easy area physically impossible to kill without pawns unless I came back later because I did 0 damage to it), how long can it fucking take to kill an undead enemy that isn't even fighting back? The AI is really wonky. Shit spawns right in front of your face. I will probably finish it, but it is a huge stretch to put it on the same level as certain other action rpgs.

I don't think I "get" this game. All of the monster combat is really fun most of the time but I feel like I just do no damage to anything and that I'm super under leveled wherever I go. Just hit 15 and went to go start my first wyrm hunt quest and got rekt by some bandits on the way there.

It's not like the combat is very hard it just takes SO long to kill anything. Why are all the sidequests just "Kill X amount of creatures?

Did I fuck up picking the strider class? I really want to enjoy this game but at this point it feels like I've gotta be doing something wrong

The reduced cast time one doesn't apply to bows, and the decreased stamina usage from physical attacks doesn't apply to the bow either. Do I just take the weight class/carry weight augments? While we're on this subject, I did that quest where you meet Selene, and then later did a quest where I escorted her to the healing spring (it was a notice board escort quest). Well, last time I booted up DDO a few days ago there were quite a few lobbies open that had a 0/100 near the bottom of the list.
So you can simulate the same thing pretty easily.

Also, the only place that is actually sync'ed between players is town. As soon as you leave it's your instance with just you and your friends if they are in your party (if you have one).

Kinda a small little detail to get caught up about in my opinion, but everyone has different tastes.
