In all fairness, they don't really explain what "Hard Mode" is in this game.
You're not supposed to play it on Hard your first time, it's meant for NG+.
Because even if you do well, you get too much exp and too much gold too early in the game and the rest of the game is easy after you get out of the early stages. They designed it this way for the higher level curves, not the lower ones.
>as a veteran of notably hard games
I love how you just know this faggot means Souls games
I just want their meme series to die so they will go back to making Armored Core.
Why has no one filled the void they left? How is customizable mech combat such an unprofitable idea?
I played on hard the first time but retried on normal when i met super skelly.
some huge skeleton you find in bitterblack isle im not even sure if i was supposed to be there so went back to cassardis.
They balanced the game around it being a NG+ feature. It is beatable still but it was a pretty stupid idea to make it that way especially when you factor in the party system.
I find the game fun, but it is seriously flawed. Being built around parties for a game like this is a bad idea, it's like they made a game then made AI to play itself. The stagger system isn't very well made. Everything takes way too much time from traveling to wandering around town to item management. Even the fighting takes forever especially if you are not playing with pawns (I found one enemy in an easy area physically impossible to kill without pawns unless I came back later because I did 0 damage to it), how long can it fucking take to kill an undead enemy that isn't even fighting back? The AI is really wonky. Shit spawns right in front of your face. I will probably finish it, but it is a huge stretch to put it on the same level as certain other action rpgs.
Agreed, although the content that claws it's way out of the fanbase can be enjoyable as well.
It's possible he had it preloaded and didn't restart steam before playing it(which bugs achievements, and they won't be applied retroactively even after restarting).
I've got 22 hours in and up to level 41, but don't have any of the "starting" achievements because I hadn't restarted my steam client.
>hes visibly in a 2x4extrachromosomeschan group ontop of that plethora of dota garbage
hope this one stays nice like Monhun fags on /v/. at least most the fans fans overlap so that's a good thing, right?
super skellies fuck everyone up. good call though
>christian gaming community
>I'm proud to be a mudslime
What is this cluster fuck of a steam profile?
>doxing a person just because they don't like your game
Christ I thought those webms and images whining that people prefer Skyrim or Dark Souls over DD were pathetic enough but you guys just hit an all time low.
In case you ever wanted to fight dragons with Freddie Mercury, here's my pawn.
r8 my squire-in-training
pawn on the left
Don't make annoying pawns, I will throw them from high places.
sorry guys, i had to look up what doxxing was, so embarrassing
not really because who'd get embarrassed infront of a bunch of /v/irgins like yourselves who get all autistic over a single steam page. your 4chan cred must be skyhigh kek
its only the sword n board bandits imo
They hit for retarded amounts and can actually chain the retarded damage together
bow niggers can be annoying with the knockdown but that doesnt hurt too bad
>already have it on PS3, just never got around to playing it
>even my shitty laptop would easily run it better
If you got the spare money it's worth it in my opinion. I got DD on ps3 then dark arisen when it came out, so this is the third time I've paid for it. I would've still been playing the piss3 version till now if my piss3 didn't get niggered. Worst case
pirateit to make sure you're not one of the people who has the game CTD on them every 5 minutes.
>playing on hard
>haven't died more than once or twice on any encounter
just beat an ogre which people seem to complain about a lot
I don't see what the fuss is about aside from GIBS ME DAT WHITE WIMMIN
Do what I did and make a character from your favorite Japanese anime and/or manga :D
>i didnt want to know it anyway thats why im sperging out about how youre all losers
please do go on
>minding a good looking pawn
>finding one without a party hat
>file name get's fucked up
The last PS2 game, Last Raven was pretty bullshit since it expected you to carry over 2 game's worth of parts before starting.
For Answer and V had really wild difficulty swings too.
>tfw the door to Gran Soren is closed and it's nightfall
TAKING THE BACK ROADS BOYS.
>As a veteran of notably hard games
>In game: Dota 2
Not that anon, but it doesn't matter for me.
Anyone who puts a party hat on their pawn are likely the same people who constantly use niggerspeak because "it's funny guys XD"
They don't deserve RC from me.
I snuck through the bandits and shortcutted through witchwood, finally thought id be there forever
>randomly choose a sorcerer pawn from the rift
>encounter a battle
>pull out my sword and about to charge in
>suddenly everything blows up in fire
fucking jesus why are sorcerers so strong
Also yeah, dont even have to check to know he think he's hot shit because he played DS2
I've found some unknowns on my pawn's bestiary list (which apparently is the only way to find out right now whether your pawn was rented or not) and I felt a slight tingle of joy.
Met this pair at that level, took them on the spot.
I still really enjoy both Dark Souls and Demon's Souls to this day and the fact that the community surrounding them has gone to shit really makes me sad.
have never played Armored Core. Been itching to since Dark Souls 2 was so boring.
It's a pretty fun take on High Fantasy with enjoyable gameplay unlike
Elder Scroll games, which just have really cool lore.
I don't think I "get" this game. All of the monster combat is really fun most of the time but I feel like I just do no damage to anything and that I'm super under leveled wherever I go. Just hit 15 and went to go start my first wyrm hunt quest and got rekt by some bandits on the way there.
It's not like the combat is very hard it just takes SO long to kill anything. Why are all the sidequests just "Kill X amount of creatures?
Did I fuck up picking the strider class? I really want to enjoy this game but at this point it feels like I've gotta be doing something wrong
yeah, wish i could find a normal head band
>Chop of hydra head
>Talking to She Goat afterwards
>See Loli pawn saunter by in the background
It's like the waking up and smelling coffee of playing Dragon's Dogma after a long break.
What inclinations should you use for Fighter tank pawn? Im currently using Mit/Uti
>braindead animefag can't admit he is ass
>animeme mobs avatar
Normal is there for a reason. Hard is for people who like highstakes risk/reward. I enjoyed the hell out of my hard mode blind run all the way to Post-Daimon at level 90.
I'm level 22 and my pawn and I have been Striders all game. Should I switch to Fighter/warrior and build up some attack power or go Ranger? I'm ultimately eyeing the Ranger and Assassin classes.
>pawn has about 30 unknown enemies in her bestiary
I guess people like enormous muscular women.
>pawns can't be hybrid classes
>implying all that shit isn't lost in the void
Board sidequests are just things you accept and leave running in the background.
Don't actively try to do them or you'll kill yourself out of bordeom.
Also to kill mooks quicker, try grabbing them while they're down. Grabbed foes take more damage.
Apparently looks Rose
What would you rate this ambiguous thing?
90% of the quests are side quests with only 10% being actual storyline
Most of the sidequests aren't kill X amount of creatures.
The quests you pick up on the notice board are there to just do as you play the game and not something you actively grind out
>one-shot by everything
>had no threat of dying and 20 hours in on normal mode
yo fuck this place, i just died like 20 times because of fucking one-shotting bandit faggots who took like no damage
then i realized your pawns literally told you to wait until they attacked then to attack them and you'll do normal damage, plus avoiding their one-shot shit was easy if you did more than just spam attack and watched what they were doing
I can't remember, weapons wise were their katanas in this game? I know I know hurrdurr katana so good superior jap steel ectect. My pawnfu is a cosplay slut so I need to give her a katana for it.
Speaking of jailer
>Accidentally hit some guy while talking to him
>Get sent to jail
>have skeleton key on me so i bust out
>Jailer doesnt give a fuck
>Door is locked so i cant leave
>Kill the Jailer because he might drop the key
>Have to ress him so i can bribe him to let me out
During the credits your love interest will walk up to you, take you in their arms then you both slowly lay down while kissing as the screen goes black.
They are then in your house post-game.
It's implied, but not too far to imagine.
>descending the Everfall for the first time
>see the ogre in everfall
>loli pawn makes a comment about how women excite it
>motherfucker scoops up my pawn and starts running down the spiral stairs
>spend half of the descent chasing after my pawnfu
>fighting 10 monsters(that's what i've counted) for 15 hours is all that game has
>locations are trash
>quests not worth mentioning
>characters do not exist everyone is the same
>level design - one corridor to rule them all
Difficulty on normal is impossible to die, i died on the dragon three times and to a chimera and 5 surians once -that's all.
At least if world was somewhat interesting it would be fine, but come on it is an empty mess.
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU UNLOCK THIS FUCKING GATE TO GRAN SOREN.
I'VE BEEN OVER EVERY INCH OF THE LAND FROM THAT GAY GATE TO THE FIRST CITY.
WHAT THE FUCK.
DD is the most overrated game of /v/. Combat system and chatacter creator are great but everything else is shit. Difficulty curve is non existent, graphism are terrible, world is small, enemies aren't really interesting, NPC are bland and boring and story only gets interesting at the final hour.
That's how fucking Matt Daimon was created.
Don't do that.
Just got the game.
Is it possible to make a well rounded character who by the end of the game can play multiple hybrid classes? Like a character built to be a viable mystic knight, but also also a viable assassin?
I just hit level 20, currently playing assassin, and I'm wondering around when and for how long I should go sorcerer to build magic stat if I want to he good with magic classes but also pure phys classes
I disagree, and strongly suspect that you suckle on anything phallic.
>Is it possible to make a well rounded character who by the end of the game can play multiple hybrid classes?
You do that by simply playing the game.
End-Game gear will more than make up the difference.
So which fucking augments do I take as a magick archer besides the flat +strength/magic ones? The reduced cast time one doesn't apply to bows, and the decreased stamina usage from physical attacks doesn't apply to the bow either. Do I just take the weight class/carry weight augments? If I use the 4 strength/magic augments that leaves me with 2 slots.
>Go to BBI
>Elder ogre grabs you and runs off
I posted it in the general too but Valmiro is honestly the most underrated character in the game.
I always enjoy his second quest.
Is there a way to completely change your look? As in change your body structure and shit.
I found the barbershop in Gran Soren, but she only changes hair/beards/makeup. I wanna turn into a shota ;_;
You guys think a sequel would be likely now? Not some shitty mmo bullshit.
There's one if you find the quest on the notice board that tells you to go back to the fortress where the goblins are at. http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Hydra
And in the everfall there is a white hydra that is much stronger then the regular hydra http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Archydra
can I not use Boon on myself?
The sequel is Dragon's Dogma Online. Dunno why niggas have such a hard time comprehending this. DD already plays a little like an MMO anyway with the reliance on pawns, weapon shit, materials and quests
I think it was released on PC in preparation of a sequel, just like DMC 4 SE.
The better question is whether Capcom would make a good sequel or one that's casualized to hell and back.
Elemental weapons use both strength and magic to determine damage so its impossible to fuck up your character really unless you play physical classes solely until the 100+ levels and decide to switch to a mage.
I nabbed a decent one around level 20 for a bit but he had a really deep voice that drowned out everything in the game when he casted spells and sounding like a fucking demon speaking through a half eaten roadkilled dog
also saw a merlin
Actually it's a prequel.
If we're talking about semantics.
>Can't even open, keeps crashing on launch
>Somehow has double the performance requirements in some aspects
>Double the RAM, thank god I have a ton of RAM
>Still can't open it
>Check Steam Community
>Tons of people with powerhouse computers and old toasters alike can't run it, crashes on launch
I was so certain you could specify gender that I actually started up my game.
Make sure you set the search parameters in the rift.
>The sequel is Dragon's Dogma Online
>some shitty mmo bullshit.
I don't want to play online. Soloing isn't an option at all either. I don't care if the base gameplay is apparently mmo like, I want no connection to anyone else while I'm playing.
Hit the sprint button when you're targeting someone to use it on.
>mfw my pawn and I just knocked the ogre in the Everfall off the spiral path, causing it to die due to fall damage
Plays fine for me :^)
But really, while it actually does the fact that I cant use mods with it is fucking bullshit. They had some pretty cool mods for textures, fleshy hollows, the E3 Bloodborne fog gates, armor reskins, and cheat engine for adding titles to names.
>Soloing isn't an option at all either
It's actually a pretty viable option.
Get a mage pawn to highlight weakpoint and treat large monsters with a healthy dose of respect in terms of level comparison and you can do most anything.
Especially since you can get 2 pawns plus one more hired from someone else.
>exp and gold is doubled so you are always overlevelled and overequipped
Viability isn't what I meant. What I meant is absolutely no online since people who play online games a lot don't seem understand why I don't like playing online and equate soloing the same as playing an offline game by yourself.
I don't want to see xxSirBluntingTonxx jumping around my screen like a jackass. I'd rather just have a world with no other players but me.
>tfw just found out I missed the lost and found quest and the succeeding quest line
I remeber that guy telling me that quina's gone and I even tried chasing him before he dissapeared before going on to Gran soren because I was in a hurry to change vocation. Sucks because I've only done lure of the abyss before deciding to do the rest of the sidequests. They didn't even tell me I've failed, the quest is just gone.
I wish they'd at least tell you the time limit on a quest.
had to make my own desu senpai
While we're on this subject, I did that quest where you meet Selene, and then later did a quest where I escorted her to the healing spring (it was a notice board escort quest). Then I did a quest where I had to take an herb to her to turn it into the herb I need (again, notice board quest) but she wasn't in the Witchwood in her hut. Is this normal? Because the map did point me to the witchwood.
>Kill the ogre the first time, only to die in the room full of harpies and skeleton mages
>Ogre just decided to run off the edge and kill himself the second time
Well, last time I booted up DDO a few days ago there were quite a few lobbies open that had a 0/100 near the bottom of the list.
So you can simulate the same thing pretty easily.
Also, the only place that is actually sync'ed between players is town. As soon as you leave it's your instance with just you and your friends if they are in your party (if you have one).
Kinda a small little detail to get caught up about in my opinion, but everyone has different tastes.
I think I'm legitimately overleveled. I see everyone talking about how tough the ogres are and how they got fucked by bandits and I haven't really had any issues, except when I picked a fight with a drake. What level should you be if you're about to start working for the duke and have done a few quests.
I used rook until level 29 and realized he was getting 1 shotted by everything in shadowfort
hadnt changed out gear or skills on my pawn either
did alot of fucking resuscitating those fragile niggers
Anyone else plagued by letterboxing? Not sure why I have it, my resolution is 1280x1024, which fits into the DD requirements. Its making gameplay a bit aggravating as everything is shrunken down and compressed to fit.
Should I buy this game or
torrentit? Never played it before
>enter rift, see a big ass swole black warrior named Tyrone, take him with me
>fucking around with some hobgoblins, pick one up and throw it because why not
>I threw it in Tyrone's direction without realizing it
>suddenly cinematic camera turns to Tyrone and in the deepest voice you can give a pawn in creation he says IVE GOT IT
>he whacks the hobgoblin in the middle of the air like a baseball and sends it flying
I really like my monitor though, and it shouldn't be giving me this issue since I fix the resolution requirements. Still rather new to PC gaming in general though, so how would a 720p monitor fix my issues?
>still using rook
I hadn't even fought the hydra yet, Hell I actually skipped the hydra and made it to level 12 before I noticed I couldn't go any further and went back to sell loot.
>had full loot to fight hydra
was rather annoying actually.
I would wait for him to strike at someone and then I would slash away as they worked to escape.
>kill them all
>feel bad for them because they're only scared puppies when they're hurt
Haven't even done the first main quest in the Capitol and I'm already 24 because I do all the black board quests.
I found a water shrine with lizards and an ogre at the sacrificial chamber but I can't get past the door that needs to have something inserted. I found 2 artefacts down there. Can I not proceed without a quest or something?
Holy fuck, I didn't know you could make your pawn do all that. So I can have an asshole/slave/shy pawn through using this? Do I need to get far in the game to use the chair? Does it only work with your own pawn?
I'd want it to be pawn fighting.
That way there wouldn't be too much stupid bullshit.
You could watch from the stands as your pawns fight and make bets and shit.
>trying to get the great cannon+riposte shit to work
>never fucking does save on the gryphon beacuse of my pawns raping everything
I'm pretty sure I could finish the main game without swinging again at this point.
>more hours on dark souls 2 than on dark souls 1
>Dragon's Dogma circlejerk gets triggered by negative user reviews
Really fucking pathetic thread guys, you're quickly rivalling Soulsfags in terms of ego
All of them except Ladder Blade.
I usually do the backslash, the front charge slash that isn't arc and the one that hits all around you.
But it doesn't matter, since as a warrior, you will spend 90% of the game jumping and pressing light attack.
What? You have to dodge and defend really well.
The only enemies I can think of that can one shot you in the beginning is that group of bandits guarding the pass to the witch forest and there is one bandit in particular that deals tons of damage.
You don't have to fight them right at the beginning either, you can come back after you've been to Gran Soren and gotten some better gear.
I'M SO FUCKING HORNY WHY IS THIS ALLOWED. I JUST WANNA PLAY THE GAME, NOT BE FORCED TO BEAT OFF ONCE A MINUTE.
The World needs more armored core games but From got absorbed by the danksouls, we can only dream that one day they decide to deliver...
The "what the fuck is this bullshit" difficulty is in Last Raven thanks to the mayority of the enemy ac been enhanced beyond player capabilities, to the point that some of them have infinite energy(always flying) and never overheat. Playing it on psp after beating it 4 years ago in ps2 and damn, it gets insane sometimes, took me around 30 tries to beat the arena ac #21
Oh no, I'm talking about actual Christian servers in games. I used to see that shit all the time when I used to play TF2 and they'd actually yell at you for swearing or saying anything remotely not nice.
He's right, but stupid
Hard mode is made for people who really know the mechanics of the game and want boatloads of XP+gold
even then it's not very fun imo. Normal mode is good enough
On the topic of DD, what the fuck are with these cancelled quests.
Some of them I get and am too underleveled to do, so I go do other quests and shit to get stronger, only to come back and find that the quest is cancelled. Fucking Quina.
>playing on hard
>get fucking trashed up until gran soren
>swap to assassin
>instantly able to actually fight enemies without being killed
cept gryphons those guys still fuck my shit up
Not riding the ogre down the everfall
>too underleveled to go to the witchwood
I love this meme.
Run from the bandits if you're too shit to kill them. A couple of side quests in Gran Soren will get you plenty of exp and also gold for gear if you need a crutch.
She's in a cathedral innawoods
When you progress too far in the story some quests fail because you took too long in doing them.
Quina went to the woods to find herbs to help you get better, there's 0 point in her still doing that right as you're about to fight the dragon.
Also she has a questline that progresses with the story (if you complete the forest one first).
it's literally just the one bandit in heavy armor sword & boarding. have a mage or two with magick and he'll get fucked.
don't try to melee him because he's designed to go toe to toe with you, fucknut.
g i t g u d
>I don't see how, even with 3 pawns and myself, most of the bandits one shot me and took almost no damage.
You don't even have to fight the bandits, you can just run past them if you find them too hard.
You don't have to fight everything you come across.
Is Dragon's dogma a difficult game in general?
I'm going to be home sick for a week and figured it might be a good game to chill and play. But if it's too difficult I will wait until I feel better.
>Is Dragon's dogma a difficult game in general?
Not really, there are a few spikes here and there but they're mostly designed as something you can come back to.
For example with the starting village girl going missing the path is blocked by some slightly tougher bandits (mostly because you have shit gear since you just started the game).
You can either run past the bandits, kill them (challenging) or progress the story a bit until you get to the city Gran Soren, buy better gear and go back and kill the bandits then.
However take care in progressing the story too far, especially when the game says to take care of unfinished business (like wurm hunt shit), since some quests can become locked out.
Why does everyone post the slightly smaller version of that
Here, use the big one
>doing quest Chasing Shadows
>get to the very end but Jullian spots me
>oh well, I'll just sleep at the in and wait for it to be night again
>Jullian/creepy guy isn't there
>can't repeat any quests
>failed is failed
>already saved because slept at in
>game cockblocked me out of Madeline's Store
THIS IS WHY HAVING ONE FUCKING SAVE FOR THE WHOLE THING IS STUPID. LET US HAVE MULTIPLE SAVES GODDAMMIT
When I use the controller is just shows numbers in two rows instead of actually showing the button prompts for like, an xbox controller for example.
Is there any way to fix this? this is only happening on my main pc. It was fine on my laptop
https://youtu.be/tqygRdUKoBM?t=3m53s Guy fighting those bandits on hard mode at lvl 14.
He doesn't stop fighting them till HE GETS GOOD.
/random searched this guy.
All of the fucking casuals playing on normal complain about this group cause you don't wanna get good.
>THIS IS WHY HAVING ONE FUCKING SAVE FOR THE WHOLE THING IS STUPID. LET US HAVE MULTIPLE SAVES GODDAMMIT
1. Live with your decisions in a game. Savescumming is for fags.
2. Create backups yourself by copying your savefile, this doesn't even take 5 seconds. This is something you can even do on console.
>Not be able to deal with the consequences of failure
Stop fucking crying. You can't do everything right, just try again in NG+ or start over if you're that autistic about it
