I just remember wandering aimlessly near the beginning of the game and stumbling upon a cyclops near a river which proceeded to kill me repeatedly until I took initiative and climbed the shit out of it to stab its eye

It's best if you just wander around the world searching for random shit rather than follow quests whether day or night

Bought the game a while back on the 360 and ended up dropping it after getting to Gran Soren.
Picked it up after after a few months and started a new save. Loved it to bits.
I dunno but it seems like unless it clicks right away, you end up dropping it a few times before you end up doing that one attempt and loving it.

It's inevitable. The game gets pretty easy after you hit around level 15-20.
Drop pawns out of your party if you feel it gets too easy. Journeying with just your main pawn is optimal. Going solo is also an option.

I think im playing or doing something wrong, because there was a point where I would keep dying over and over again to a group of only 5 basis bitch bandits. I was probably like level 9 fighter with my main pawn being a mage and I was close to the entrance og the witchwood. My attcks barely did 7% of their hp bar and I could only take like 4 hits from full hp. Am i just bad, do I actually need to hire a whole group of pawns, am I in the wrong area? spoonfeed me.

The trick to the well lizards is to cut their tails, so their defense goes from insane to manageable. You still need to git gud, because there's a lot of them in there and the water fucks your lantern.
I had to do that quest later on my first playtrough, but on my subsequent ones I do it right after unlocking it.

Bandits are just plain strong enemies. They're a threat even later in the game.
There's plenty of other enemies that are really dangerous, even when you know how to deal with them. There's no shame in fleeing.

The first time I went there I was swarmed by a skeleton, 30 wolves and a cyclops, and so I went back to the town and changed class to Ranger. Ranger sucked, so I changed to Assassin, and I'm still getting fucked up. What do I do?

Any build is viable. Just use what you like the most after trying them all.

If you mean what is the most overpowered so you can sail trough the game, it's definitely Ranger while spamming Tenfold arrow. Takes almost no stamina, no cooldown and melts fucking everything from the other side of the world. It's practically the easy moodo of DD.

The Grimoire quest is at the male bandit hideout. Female bandits are further to north.
There's no real trick to them. Try to take out the snipers first if there's any, then just git gud.

Nah, DLC armor is the stuff you just get given for free, or can get stupidly easily really early on in the game. BBI gear is difficult to get, and as you said, it's pretty much designed to be end game gear.

So far everything going well, reach main city, picked up a quest in the inn to escort the faggot Renn whatever his name is, it's on the women whore bandit's tower. Almost reach the tower, there is a troll with a gang of bitches right there, gotta be careful not to fall from the cliff.

Fight begins, faggot escort doesn't stay in position and goes straight to where we are fighting, get's knocked off the cliff constantly, have to restart. My faggot team again goes to the edge and start doing incantations for magic, RIGHT AT THE FUCKING EDGE. Get's knocked out constantly, trolls falls down. I go down to save faggot team that fell down, Chimera from 50 miles waiting for me.

Over 20 times. Non-stop. Evertime I try to hit the trolls eyes or reach him, the camera does a little trick fuck shit that makes me waste my stamina, sometimes my character clips from the trolls body. Even at times when I am in the right position and strike, he hits one of the points where it's programmed for him to hit.
