Tactics Ogre General
In the middle of
saving Catiua. Going to get fusiliers next and begin leveling new classes to revamp my team.
>trying to do no archers and mix it up a bit
>Hey, monsters can be fun. Lets get a few griffins
>they're all flying ranged and melee juggernauts
Hopefully faeries and golems are more fun.
What did you all think of the game?
AH SHIT, WE ON NOW
How the fuck are you, mate.
If you're still around this is one of my fav games of all time
I didn't really like the monster units but I had a couple of griffins and a faerie (I don't remember why I had the faerie but it was because of a specific ability or sth, maybe haste)
I did Chaos, always been meaning to go back and do Lawful one of these days
good bud, you?
i'll dump some art too
I love the presentation of the PSP version so much
the art, the godlike sound track, the fucking amazing translation
>all those warren report entries
I like Oz the best. Wish there were more commanders like him.
>FFXIV had a dungeon with Tactics Ogre armor sets as drops.
At least the franchise isn't completely ded.
>that creya rape
real talk though if you want to start an active thread, post about FFT first
Then work TO in since most people don't know about it
oh fuck yeah I saw the dragoon armor sets and was so hype
didn't the art guy for TO do a lot of the FF14 art too
How did the faerie end up for you? I'm not sure what to expect.
Law is, by far, the best route in the game. Best overall story and recruits. I highly recommend it.
I had no save data coming into the Vita version of the game as my PSP died so I'm stating over with the neutral route and working my way around.
It is nearly a perfect game, I know.
>Playfully sadistic greatswordsman
>Wish there were more commanders like him
>equip my team with a beastmaster, warlock, and people with the Recruit skill
>end up gaining half the enemy team and all enemy monsters on my side
>How did the faerie end up for you? I'm not sure what to expect.
I don't really remember. I want to say I kept her around for a little while because they fly and are super fast but my near end game typical party was all humans
Explain. I don't know shit about them.
>the TO series will never be concluded properly
>The new class system is fucking retarded.
Really my only complaint with this game is the class system and the leveling. Utterly moronic
I think the rest of the game makes it far better overall than the original
The chariot system, translation, music, extra characters and missions, etc
I been playing this game in the last few days, I resfused to side with any of the parties thinking it would lead me down the neutral route, turns out it it's the chaos route so I messed up there
Remember you're able to do all routes through post-game content.
>looking at what Matsuno is up to now
It just hurts to see so much talent go to waste there.
>I resfused to side with any of the parties
That's what chaosfags do.
PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO UNSUNG STORY :^)
Yeah. But still i find more joy into levelling a 1lv soldier in PSX version of TO than here.
Also I prefer weapon system from old TO: regular different weapons and uniques that are actually unique not a MMO grade tiered weapons.
I still don't know what to think of that game. I can't even get a clear citation for what hes even doing for the game.
What exactly reference>?
Ages when I play FFT and it was on PSX also.
Also its shame that you can't catch or recruit or at last spare most of NPC in TO. Some I really feel bad for killing them.
Looks like crap.
System look weird for the sake of being unique. Names and classes sound like from some sort of MMO. Also it doesn't even look or sound similar.
TO I really like that it was mostly western monsters and classes(knights and Griffins) and mythology but this sound like eastern crap.
Sadly the closest thing to medieval company simulator is Battle Brothers but it doesn't look that great even if it is fully playable.
>What exactly reference?
The PSP update of it had a much more beautifully written version of it, though elements of the dialogue change in the retransation:
>"Forgive me. 'Tis your birth and faith that wrong you, not I."
>having a team of Rune Fencers with me now
After leveling them decently I find it crazy that people still think Rune Fencers are overall bad.
>can conserve MP to cast high level magic like summons for free
>can heal themselves with TP and still act the game same turn
>can swim and move quickly
Welp. Majority rules. TO thread stays. I'll do a TO/FFT thread next time.
>Brigantys Castle was actually snowy Minas Tirith
Jeanne d'Arc and FFT are srpglite.
Sorry, I had to.
>this is basically what fighting in Brigantys looks like in-game
>Oelias fanart last thread
>Xaebos fanart this thread
Holy shit where does this stuff come from, i'm so impressed.
The thing that gets me the most about Denam's story is that both Vyce and Catuia were complete fuck ups
The only 'good hearted' voice of reason in the game early on is
Ravness, who either dies or isn't around for most of the game
Canopus and Tristan's boyz don't really care what you do that much either.
>Jeanne d'Arc and FFT are srpglite.
Not really and neither are for Normies. I can barely think of a Normies that knows about FFT, Jeanee d'Arc is an obscure PSP game people only find when they're already down the rabbit hole.
Ravness and Hamilton are the true beacons of hope for Denam. Hamilton seems to actually care, despite the rest of the Xenobians being focused on their job mainly.
Catiua is selfish to the point of being obtuse and Vyce is a heavy-handed partisan.
YOU KILL THE NIGGA TILL HES DEAD
REMEMBER THE BASICS OF SHOOT THAT BITCH, JACK
Anyone ever get a fully decked out Songstress? I'm curious how useful she'd be.
>Pumpkinheads can be songstresses.
Nah, FFT and TO "fans" are so autistic that they think any other SRPG is trash.
Honestly the only "bad" SRPG I played were Luminous Arc 2 and Aedis Eclipse:Generation of Chaos.
Honestly their only strength is they can shoot vertically far better than bows while still being lighter than fusils.
Ragnarok Tactics was pretty shitty too.
Agro mechanic was dumb, and triggering the evil can take a while.
I loved the art tho.
Probably because what makes those games good has little do to with the inherent traits of the genre? I personally love them cause of how much control you have over party development, equipment, etc. Sure, the games still have their flaws, but I don't know any other SRPGs that handle customization this well.
Stick it out on PSP. You can cheat to make the game a bit easier (I did after my first playthrough -- I gave myself infinite crafting luck and disabled chaos frame, makes the game way more enjoyable imo)
>Canopus totally chill if you go Law at Golyat
Feels kind of odd. But I guess infiltrating as many teams as they can for their mission is more important than their personal preferences.
>unite the southern nations under one banner
>side with well respected figures from the previous kingdom and work together to save the new queen
>save the new queen and get her to side with us
>displace my only remaining enemy nation - the Bakram - and get their foreign soldiers on the run
>feel like hot shit
>go off to check out some wreckage
>get absolutely slaughters by octopi and lamias
i'm with you. hate the class system, and the difficulty changes are completely baffling. not only is every map insanely easier, but losing units is practically impossible in the remake.
Gonna play this game again eventually, I fucked up with my team and there was a map I couldn't get past no matter how hard I tried. I think it was a regular battle on that map that is basically very vertical scaffolding and the other team.had nothing but flying units. My team gets reamed hard because most of them can't climb fast enough and we get mobbed.
who dat, don't remember any priests dying
other than abuna Pavel, but Catlua isn't there for him. Unless it's one the priests sisters, I guess.
>Tfw just got Lord but can't bring myself to powerlevel it to 30
Also, how do I make non-Ninja melee classes like Knight Commander and White Knight good endgame?
And what should I do with Catiue?
Some loser uploaded scans to photobucket I think. But no sights of the Artbook for us of dogs of the sea, aye.
Let Us Cling Together IS the remake.
It seems I'm lacking a few cards.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. Remake of an old PS1 SRPG by the Final Fantasy Tactics guys. Original team doing most of the remake. Literally everything about the game has been drastically updated besides the sprites themselves.
Absolutely massive game with a high quality story driven by in-game politics.
To get a sense of the universe:
He's currently working on FF14.
But he also did FF12.
Pic also related.
most of the armors in that game look bad though, partially because of how the graphics look (too many armors look like plastic) and partially because they're supposed to be exaggerated "final fantasy" designs.
I want the exact same aesthetics he did for Tactics Ogre and have a lot of fucking customization options to go with it. I would play that for months.
The World for the People
It could use a proper orchestra.
I love the game but I'm stuck after visiting lanselot when he asks you to betray the count. My unit composition isn't the best, I'm thinking of starting a new game, but I don't have much motivation, any ways to make the game less grindy/fights go faster?
cheat by getting rid of chaos frame and making crafting 100%
crafted items give you a significant boost
also army composition; if you have two archers that you equip well and put in each fight you can steam roll most things
Plenty harder in pretty much ever respect. Until I got griffins I have no ranged, bar a little spellcasting. It was a serious pain. I plan to get at least dragoons or fusiliers for ranged play while I still leave out archers.
It's a very worthwhile experience in retrospect. The battles are far more intricate and challenging now.
