What's a top tier game to buy with 10 bucks on steam ?
Kero Blaster. It's a charming and polished side scrolling shooter by the maker of Cave Story.
Kinda short but great for multiple playthroughs. I've got almost 20 hours in it so far.
Paint the town red
crack is dirt cheap. so is heroin. how do you think pool people can even afford it?
I'd say either Undertale, FTL, Papers Please, or They Bleed Pixels. You can tell what kind of games I typically play
I wish Pixel would make more games.
If you check out his blog he made a ton of shit before settling with Cavestory, and then never made anything since except for this iphone shooter.
It's barely a game, and the developer is in leagues with the SJWs whether he admits to it or not.
Surprise, there are retarded people with shit taste.
Just ignore it. Play good games and don't pay money for bad ones like Undertale.
You don't come here asking why people watch My Little Pony. Just don't watch MLP.
honestly, fuck spending the $10. Nethack recently released it's first update in 12 years. You should learn what a real Rogue-like is.
Just a Final Fantasy Tactics/ Oregon Trail hybrid. It wasn't a bad game, but it only took me 12 hours to beat and I had no motivation to replay it. Not worth $24 to be quite honest, family.
I will try and abdrige UT for you and spare you the headache of actually playing the game.
It's main thing is that it will try and subvert your expectations of various RPG and anime tropes. You would have more fun actually reading TVtropes than playing the game because for what it's worth it's just one trope after anouther trying to subvert itself over and over again.
/v/ HOLY FUCKING SHIT
YOU GOD DAMNED FILTHY CASUALS
While undertale is no where near as god-tier La-mulana a game incredibly close to 10/10, you have to admit that it's a solid videogame with solid game mechanics, challenging boss fights for people who aren't into bullet hell/shmups, and a narrative that appeals to most people.
/v/ is growing up
There's a reason why every vidya/anime/hobby/etc community out there accepts SJWs, /v/ is the last bastion of pissbabies who don't like Social Justice, and that's quickly changing
They're pretending to be retarded. Just don't reply, and I'm not even going to give the other person who replied to you the benefit of a (you). No rational artistic community accepts radicals.
The original La-mulana is literally a clunky, broken mess with puzzles that aren't even complete, making the game rely on complete luck or a guide.
Playing La-mulana Remake is like trying to cook something with gordon ramsey. Playing the original La-mulana is like trying to break down a brick wall with your skull.
It kind of depends. If you have someone to play local multiplayer with it's going to be endless. If you're just playing to unlock everything... I dunno maybe a month of vigorous gameplay. There are three levels with three stages each so in total there are nine levels to play. You can play it like Nuclear Throne with an infinite loop to see how far you can make it but I'd say Vagante is easier to break with certain combinations. I still highly recommend it though it's pretty, fun, and challenging.
It replied to the OP which features a picture of NT, saying Nethack is a 'real roguelike.' I assumed it was contrasting itself with NT which is 'not a real Rogulike' which is obviously true, but then, it was never pretending to be one. I guess it could have just been a general shot at the recent wave of indie games with random elements and perma-death that are often incorrectly called roguelikes, but that's not how I read it.
>somebody who isn't me recommending Vagante
This is a fun fucking game. If you're wary of EA shit then avoid it. Frequent updates (some more radically different than other) and some cool devs (one of the artists gifted me a copy, one of the programmers is a /v/ / /vg/ regular I think) who just want to make a neat little thing. I felt bad I couldn't donate to their KS/Indiegogo or whatever the fuck they used to crowdfund.
I've got a spare gift copy if you want it, got it to give to somebody for Christmas but it turned out they already have it.
There are other aspects of the game that are well done. I obviously don't want to drop more spoilers but the general Undertale fanbase seems to only recognize the emotionally driven plot.
like real spoilers but part of the genius that comes from the game is it's exploration of player choice and when the autistic fans tell everyone to play the game in one specific way, it ruins the experience
I got it for myself last Christmas with a gift card a friend gave me. Already put in more than 20 hours in it, and I just got to the catacombs last night. Is it really over after the catacombs? Are there any plans to include more than these three ares in the future? (besides the one alternate level you can access with a key)
sorry to spoil it I didn't think about people who hadn't gotten there yet. Yeah catacombs 3 is the last level, but you get to keep going through the game and the enemies get harder and what not.
Nah. I mean, I probably would've gotten to that point in a week or so. I've been dicking along at a slow pace, but I've been trying out different skill combinations. I can easily say Illiterate Wildling is OP as fuck.
I was just asking if there were plans to include more areas than just these three. And, as a matter of fact, do they have a dev blog or some shit that I can follow, or a road map, besides the 2-3 week change logs they post along with their updates?
I got lucky and just played the game completely blind as to the plot. I just did pacifist since the frog at the beginning asked me to and it seemed like a hard-mode type of play.
It's NG+? Or you just backtrack and the enemies are harder?
I'm kinda interested because the game looks fun, but I'm skeptical because I've already bought two games that were cheap but disappointing.
I'm new to Steam.
the answer is obviously you don't and you instead go on amazon and buy 10 bucks of novel international food, a toblerone bar, japanese junk food, 3 pounds of variety flavored peanuts, 3.5 pounds of poptarts for 6 dollars, 5 pounds of gummy bears for 10 bucks, etc
inb4 people call me a lardass. im just optimized m8, if you don't pirate you're throwing away money to people who will wipe their ass with it
> tfw consistent loop
> tfw when unlocked hard mode and Steroid b-skin on my previous run.
The fact are that he made these games to learn shit on how to make a game fun. ( cave story beta was finished on 2002) And he thought that he would never ever make a game after Cave Story.
But now he's a full time game dev
Good to see Matt is still making games.
I was big into epic battle fantasy when I was younger.
>it's barely a game
I still don't get this meme, it has a pretty good balance between gameplay and dialogue/cutscenes
There's only like, two fights in the whole game where you're actually incapable of failing (ie: your HP drops to 0 and you either get revived automatically or get to reload from the last phase you were on)
Calling Undertale a non-game along the lines of Gone Home is like calling MGS a cinematic experience along the lines of a Naughty Dog TPS or something
There's plenty of factual problems with the game and yet you all choose to post blatant lies like this
