Y'all niggas wanna talk some video gaems or what?
I've seen two underage shitposting threads already filled with shitters craving dem (You)s so i promptly avoided those.
How are you liking the game PCfriends? Any stories you want to share? Webms? Questions? You can share your negative opinion if you genuinely have one.
I'm rather disappointed with it honestly, I mean the combat is fun but there's nothing much interesting in it besides that.
Inb4 IT HAS GOOD GAMEPLAY I NEED NOTHING MORE STOP BEING A SHITTER
>How are you liking the game PCfriends?
Well I already played it on PS3, but all this shit improved makes it feel and look like a whole different game. 60 fps really makes the combat feel a whole lot better.
>lots of armor and class progression
>lots of class progression
>literally only progression is choosing a class and leveling it. No stat distribution, no customization whatsoever except fixed stat growth
Am I being rused?
>get to the catacombs
>undead mumbling to themselves in the distance
>game's been out for 4 years
>thousands of videos
>even an online PC version you could've tried for free
>even a pirated version a week before the game's actual release
How could you possibly not know what to expect?
>the zombies fucking whisper and giggle
So there is nothing interesting about DD's world? There isn't a single good quest in the game? And all characters are forgettable? These are very broad generalizations that mean nothing. Can you be specific, compare it to other games?
The only thing i think DD really needed was a bit more world building fluff. Things like a bestiary in some text or dialog, that sort of stuff.
nigger I'm polish, I was playing gothic with the whole neighborhood before you were even born
I probably clocked in upwards of 1000 hours in it fucking around with marvin mode and other shit
>want to make a buff, muscular meat mountain as a char
>looks ok in game
>5 hours in, get new armour
>char now looks like a fat, oval shaped blob
>can't change it any more
I can't stand watching his fat ass any more. Guess I'll have to fucking restart the game. God damn
Same, already spent over 16 hours on it
Get some Reshade and ENB to ramp up that spooky feeling.
So I'm at the pier at night and this chick took me to an island and told to go in some fucking dungeon. I'm just lvl 8, when is it okay go inside?
I don't know what to do
Buy the Art of Metamorphosis from the same tent where you made your pawn. It costs RC and is a one time use only, in post game you cna buy one that can be used an in finite amount of times. It will let you redo Arisen and Pawn character creation.
What armor familia?
>Go to talk to some fucking duke or something, go outside
>Immediately encounter 10 bandits
>Every single one can kill me in around 3 hits
>Takes tons of hits to even get them to half health
>Pawns constantly dying
>Literally no way to get escape once an enemy has hit you, just get combo'd to death
please help me /v/, what am I doing wrong?
It's not good.
This here is coming straight from Witcher 3. Assassin's Creed Black Flag, even Fallout 3, and all in all, the RPG Elements are really lacking. This counts the NPCs, the story, the quests and general feeling of freedom.
The combat is alright, but has some really weird design choices like some classes having 6 skill slots while others only get 3 of them.
The pawns are not very good either. Their AI is lacking, and there isn't even an option to directly control them like other RPGs I can mention. They range from being shit at dealing with enemies, to suddenly being god-like the more experience they get, to the point of leaving you in the dust.
The world is pretty empty, too. And you really have to go out of your way to fight the bigger foes, where the meat of the game really is. I don't think you can even fight an Hydra outside some quests, and the most I've seen walking around are cyclops, chimeras and only one drake.
It's also way too linear. Like, JRPG linear. I've replayed it twice and both times, the story always follows the same pattern.
Maybe it's because this is an old game, but, well, other games already did open world better by now.
I'd give it a 7/10. Here's hoping they improve the sequel....if it gets released in America.
I don't really get it. Feels like I'm missing a bunch of basic systems.
Also I was doing the sidequest to go find Quina in the Witchwood, and everything was going fine until I ran into two nondescript bandits who had a shitton of health and killed my party members in two hits, and it took like ten minutes of running away and shooting them in the face to kill them. Is that not a place I'm supposed to be, or is that just how combat is in this game?
It is, you fell into the WEBM trap.
Even having them in your party is boring for me because then you become the pawn bitch just farting around waiting for them to nuke the whole screen and one shot every fight.
This is really shitposting general, the aount of samefag and copypasta is sad.
the enb just added a tiny amount of AO, this did the rest.
I fucking love this dwarf
>perfect dorf visual style
>is a manly warrior
is on my friend's list
insta favourite and constant hires from me
It was made so you could kick ass alone without pawns, it is very very viable
and failedto make Ocelot and Solid as my main pawn and arisen.
>Even having them in your party is boring for me
do you hate flashy and dynamic effects or what
Wait are you telling me i can use thousand kisses and dragons maw with a warrior?
if my pc was good enough to run any games?
The combat is fun, but there isnt much to it other than that.
Also, why do i always do shit damage? Am i supposed to stop and grind at some point?
Did you bought equipment for you an your pawn?
What is your vocation composition?
Do you use your abilities often?
Did you went to your hometown and completed most of the quests?
>do some notice board quest to hunt rabbits
>sorcerer pawn starts joining in
>but he doesn't just wack them with his staff
>every time he sees a rabbit he goes high brontide and absolutely fucking destroys them
piratedthe game because I like to try before I buy.
Made a loli pawnfu, killed the Saurians in the well and left myself on a cliffhanger with that hydra attacking the camp. Decided I got a good idea of what the game's about and I kinda want to buy it now, but I'm not sure if I want to spend 30 yurobucks on it.
I'm a big fan on Dark Souls, I like going back and trying different builds, cosplay runs, SL1 runs, etc. Do you think Dragon's Dogma will offer the same replay value?
i don't get how people can not love the magic in this game
I'm really enjoying it so far for what little I've played, bit sad that I haven't managed to find any loli pawns without the generic adult female voice
But then again I have only looked for about 20 minutes.
Also, holy hell, the old Dragon's Dogma threads were right, Grigori has an amazing voice.
>Grigori has an amazing voice.
His dialog later in the game is totally on point too. One of my favorite characters of all time. Hes every bit as menacing and clouded in mystery as an immense legendary creature should be.
That sounds too good to be true
I really wish i had a good pc to play it on.
Really cool seeing all the webms and pawns and stuff you guys are making from this though.
Looking forward to seeing some cool mods in the future
Is anyone else burdened by how this looks?
I mean, Christ, being an archer feels so gimped because of the lighting in this game. I can barely see what's going on on 1/4th of my screen!
Is there any way to tone this effect down a little?
It's gotten tot he point that I hope I don't end up with enchantments or using the lantern because I can barely see what's going on.
Fighter has the highest defence of all classes, they also have the most skills to get out of stunlocks actually.
>Fullmoon slash will get you out of stunlock and fuck up everyone around you
>Dragon's Maw will get you out of stunlock and REALLY fuck up everyone around you
>I am fairly certain that backstep sweep move will also get you out of stunlock
>I am also fairly certain that the shield move where you make a defensive wall will also get you out of stunlock.
Learning to perfect block as a fighter is also REALLY important.
When you select a vocation is influences your stat growths as you level up. For instance Rangers receive the highest stamina per level, Sorcerer receive the highest magic per level up.
If you wanted to build a Magic Archer character it would be a good idea to raise your magic and stamina stats by leveling as Ranger and Sorcerer for a while.
Oh. Well that's a relief. I remember back on the PS3 my pawn was a fucking awful copypaste female healer and even she got hired all the time. So far mine hasn't been hired once. Or rather-as far as I know she hasn't.
Is that really the key here? Never use mages because they'll light up half your screen?
It's just as bad when I smack on a lantern too. I can barely tell what the fucks' going on.
It gets so bad that I don't use my lantern at all, because then at least I can see shadows.
>Using bows feels awkward with a controller
>Everything else feels awkward with Keyboard and mouse
What are you guys using?
Magic Archer or Ranger?
>first ten hours
>this combat is fairly mundane
>ten hours later
>fucking nukes flying off everywhere this shit is out of control send help
Magic archer has magical aim assist, and the shots you fire are little homing missiles. Ranger is only hard with a controller if you're totally shit and don't know how to aim with both sticks. Arrows don't fly far enough to make mouse aiming a necessity, and nothing in the game moves fast enough to need better tracking than a stick provides.
The game is supposed to be dark and hard to see in at night. Its a fantasy medieval forest with no light polution.
nah, he's saying find a melee pawn with the Scather inclination that makes them aggressive, make sure they have a lantern and use them to illuminate your foes.
I made a bara Fighter and my pawn is a small black elf with dread locks and scottish sideburns
This game is fucking amazing 2bqh, the people complaining are the same jaded fucks that complain about every single game that gets posted here
Also what are the best augments to get from playing fighter/strider, looking to make a pure physical character
Yeah Dragonforged is kind of a Level 4 for items. Bitterblack Isle allows you to upgrade Dragonforged items to Silver Dragonforge and Gold Dragonforge, which are like higher levels of Dragonforged.
Dude just don't do it. I also have the autisms and i just said fuck it because i have played enough of this game to realize it is literally pointless. You are building the perfect character to watch the ending credits, you're completely wasting the best time of the game. Just start over and say fuck it, there is no absolutely no pay off.
Is anyone having problems with sprinting with a dual shock controller?
Whenever i sprint it casts the skill in rbumper+square, it caused me to die a few times because I'll start casting fire when I need to sprint
Wait, it's broken right now?
So I can't see if someone hired my pawn or not?
Ive been changing classes a lot because i cant find a favorite and my damage has always been total shit against pretty much anything.
Am i supposed to grind or did i fuck up my character by changing classes every time i went to the inn?
Just get better weapons if you can. As many people have said itt, minmaxing is not worth it as most of your damage and defense comes from the equipment anyways.
I recommend doing some side missions so as to get some unique weapons that may be better than your current ones, and saving the junk you get from enemies for upgrades with Caxton.
It looks cool as fuck, but it plays like shit. It's just minute long charge, minute long charge, two minute long charge. There's no interaction. If there was a lock on you could play it with your feet.
Personally I love planting a Malestrom in the middle of 20 bandits and send them flying. Same goes for big monsters too, there's nothing more satisfying than having a few meteors drop down on a Chimera's head, killing it instantly.
All other Japanese devs should take a lesson from Capcom.
That's a nice fucking port.
>you were alive to witness Dragon's Dogma running 60 fps
It's so smooth so lovely.
>3 hours of playing, hoping the pc release would revitalize the game for me after having played it on console forever
>already gave maxed gold, vocations, discipline with CE
>tfw bored again
i fucked up
so mystic knight seems pretty fun so far.
Am I better off going with a Staff or with sword/shield though? I got fairly used to sword and board when I was playing fighter and I like the moveset, but I want to experience the magic in this game too.
>Reach Gran Soren
>Escort merchant mission
>Go out, following the road
>Hear some steps
>A motherfucking armored cyclops and his bitches out of nowhere
>Get attacked, fight a long battle, merchant dies but fuck it the cyclops is almost dead
>Healsluts are down, run to get them up
>Fuck, I'll take avoid the road for a while to avoid that thing and continue on my way
>A fucking chimera jumps on me
I fucking love this game
Min/maxing stat gains is nonsense but augments from other classes actually do make a difference and that's how you make different builds. Some ones from mage and sorcerer should be particularly useful.
>traveling north of gran soren
>things going well when all the sudden skewered out of nowhere
>last save was almost an hour ago
>go mind my day
>wrecks my shit
Fuck yes. This is the only game that gets the majesty of gryphons right.
You've also got to get the timing and positioning right. It's extremely depressing when you almost finish charging a spell and a little Goblin tackles you out of nowhere.
Although you are right about the controls being not that great.
It doesn't really matter that much. By the time you reach endgame you'll have good enough stats to kill everything, BBI is about the only place that is a threat by then.
I hate that shit too anon, i was having so much fun with that move until i noticed that and since then i never used it again. It's really pants on head retarded game design, it even looks like a glitch but they obviously don't care.
Sword assassin desperately needs some I-frames attacks though.
Actually no. Both weapons are more effective against certain enemies. swords are better against zombies while hammers are better against skeletons. Other enemies are stronger against them too, but you'll need to sort out which ones are weak to what on the wiki.
Magick Archer does no damage even if you've played nothing but sorcerer, I can only imagine the boredom that guy will have to endure playing it after only playing physical classes while leveling.
>go down that one elevator
>start hearing fucking giggling
>before that my pawns disappeared for some fucking reason
>floating blue shit out of nowhere
>ran the fuck back out and got my pawns back
Scared the shit outta me.
I love it but I've had to start over twice now.
First time because I'm an achievement needing retard, and the second time because the secret of metamorphosis cheat engine script made my character permanently invincible somehow.
Also because of minmaxing reasons.
I wish I never learned of minmaxing in this game.
My pc barely plays Skyrim or Dark Souls when i tried playing those on my pc, not much point to playing this on pc since it will not be 60fps on my computer.
Might as well just play it on my ps3 and not have all the great new texture mods or 60fps cuz it will probably run worse on my pc than my ps3
Ah yes, the phantoms you encounter are fun the first time you encounter them. They will actually possess your pawns and cause them too attack you. Be wary though. You cannot harm them without some form of magic, be they enchantments or spells.
Fucking love their design in this game. It's very classic but with little details that set it apart like the long heron like neck, the serrated beak, the wolf ears and the piercing blue eyes.
Cool as fuck theme too:
Thanks I'll look forward to it, enjoy your game
They're missing textures so if you get them that way or by modding them in then you'll crash when equipping them.
I'm surprised no one has taken the textures from the console versions yet.
Exact same feeling.
>isnt the class gimped
It's meant to be a balanced class like that, but if you build your character a certain way, you can do more damage with certain attacks. Want to be the shit out of things? Take assassin levels. Want to spam your spells like stone forest, magic cannon, and sigils? Take sorc levels.
Playing a warrior has been pretty boring so far. It's either light/strong attacking small niggas or climbing on big niggas and stabbing their eyes out.
The character creator is pretty nice, but I find the lack of eyepatches disappointing.
You buy the skill and then you use the special attack skill button + jump to roll. Don't worry it's a core skill so it does not take up a slot. It's a dagger skill so all classes with daggers equipped can dodge roll.
>played through the game three times on PS3, experiencing all the slowdowns first-hand
>PC port gets constant 60FPS fucking FPS
>my bro with a better rig gets even higher than that
>try out Mystic Knight, surely it couldn't run that good
>still 60FPS even with 3 Great Cannons
You can buy an eye patch from the forgeries guy in Gran Soren. Warrior is the most gimped class because it can only use 3 skills. Why ca it only use 3 skills? Because fuck them, that's why.
Mage is fine, you get magic attack growth and other neat augments like more magic damage for your sparkly bow.
Strider gives you neat stamina growth and more strength for your dagger attacks.
As soon as you reach Gran Soren or Bitter Black Isle. You can unlock new classes in the inn at Gran Soren or by talking to the chick that takes you to BBI. I recommend waiting for Gran Soren because the gear for the other classes is also sold there unless you got lucky with a world drop and already have a magic shield
Anyone know if anyone's sorting the textures out? The one thing that DD suffers from is naff textures, even on 4k. There was an anon in /ddg/ fixing them with mipmaps or something.
I played the shit out of this years ago, but I'll be joining in again soon. Keeping an eye on Nexus and seeing what comes out, it's a shame that the pawn system is borked though. Hopefully they fix that before long.
anyone else have issues with their 360 controller? My shits disconnected in the middle of the stuff 3 times in the last 2 hours and i always have to close and reopen the game for it to recognize it again
I've been absolutely loving it.
Playing on Hard Mode since I already beat it on Xbox.
I had forgotten just how amazing the game is.
100+ frames are an absolute joy.
Additionally, with some post processing the game actually looks pretty decent.
(running MasterEffect + Reshade myself, very happy).
Man this shit has so much potential for doujins.
>Pawn getting sent off to another world and trained as a slut
>Arisen fucking other pawns while making his main pawn watch
A shame the game is not any more popular.
Don't forget about female arisens getting fucked by Mason, Fournival blackmailing a female arisen and NTRing Valmero, Quina getting blacked/NTRed, Grigori, Milf Arisen hiring shota pawns, etc.
>game is praised by sonyggers
>game comes to the pc
>turns out game is fucking shit
What a surprise
Am I playing this game wrong? I'm level 28 MA and my pawn which is a mage is doing all the damage. The pawn can bring down meteors from the sky and shit while I can do very meager bow attacks in comparison.
I'm looking itno building a MA as well but what I'm reading everywhere is that they can be godlike, but only if you play 200 lvls as sorcerer first. Because they have crap stat growth or something.

ENB is still buggy so don't use it yet.
It's called being a fucking retarded fanboy.
It's the same kind of people that praise Demon's/Bloodborne as the best Souls game because Dark Souls had the audacity to be multi-plat.
Sonyponies were already crying when Xbots got it, when it came to PC their collective butt exploded.
Can people rent your Main Pawn while you're logged into the game or only while you're offline?
And what happens to looted items a rental pawn is carrying, are the stored in the bank when I dismiss them or will they rob me blind and take that stuff with them?
Also, what is up with the infinite level pawns in the rift?
Yeah man those kill 45 x quests were great, also the wolves and most enemies have only been repainted 3 times at higher levels but what I loved the most is every time you escape your cell no one in the city gives a shit like the quest where you can save the princess from the duke get thrown into the cell to get tortured and once you escape you can just go talk to the duke and he acts like nothing happened.
That guy is fucking retarded. You be lucky to get beyond level 100 and in fact even most min-max guides ignore levels beyond 100 because they are a waste of time.
Play as you want. You literally can't fuck up. Endgame equipment will make your base stats look like shit.
Maybe we have been but you didn't notice because Capcom broke pawn rentals
I wonder about when your pawn get hired as well. I assume offline but I'm not sure. I know you gotta use the inn to upload the pawn if you haven't done so yet and again every time you wish to update it later.
As for pawns holding items that you own, the items will go to your storage if/when the pawn die or get dismissed. You can't lose anything without doing such yourself by crafting/selling/dropping.
So I get a quest to go rescue that dumb bitch from the first town and I run across some bandits, okay no big deal, they're not really a challenge and pretty fun to fight...
...Except there's always this one armored bandit that kills everyone in my party in 1 or 2 hits and has like a million health and is basically immune to both physical damage and magic. So after getting my ass kicked over and over again to fight this one guy, I finally make it and literally the next group of bandits has like three of these guys.
Am I fucking up somewhere or is there really this fucking bad of a difficulty scaling between these enemies?
This game feels like it's not actually real.
>your party members constantly comment on even the smallest sidequests
>combat is close to DMC
>but the world is like an MMo
>you can climb on giant enemies
>height and weight of your character is a gameplay mechanic
This is shit someone would post in an "idea guy" thread on /v/ and yet here it is.
I tried to lure them over one by one and had to revive my pawns a million times to kill them
and by the time I was done, it was night time and I went into the spooky woods anyways
but maybe you should just try and run past them.
There was supposed to be a giant moon dragon bigger than grigori that you were supposed to fight.
This is definitely an ideas guy game that was actually realized and came to life.
I wonder if they're going to use the scrapped idea for the sequel
pls god I don't ask for much, just gimme a sequel
You rike my game? We worked 60 hours week five years straight for you.
Is there a way to make playable at night? It's really hard to see anything even with the lantern and if I have a pawn that uses healing magic (which is really damn bright) it becomes even harder to recognize enemies.
>pawn chooses this exact moment to say 'Quite the view, eh?'
That is kinda the point though. You can try to turn the screen brightness all of the way up to see if that helps, that how I deal with finding tiny ass rings and picklocks in the dark ass caves on TES games.
Any Into Free mods yet?
Honestly the darkness is one thing, but the problem is that bright spells seem to make things impossible to see. If my pawn buffs me, I pretty much can't aim with my bow because I glow so brightl.
That doesn't make it any better. If I want realism I wouldn't play a game with dragons and goblins.
Dragon Dogma is the type of game where you should save after every quest and use the inn (even if you don't need to) after every point where you think to yourself "wow, it would sucks if I were to suddenly die right now".
It said nothing abnormal. I thought it autosaved every time I entered a new area.
I hit ctrl+alt+delete and closed that shit, so maybe I'm still good. Scared to check.
>accidentally make ugly girl
>accidentally make not very pretty girl
>fuck it i'll just stick with this one
>pick wrong voice for my pawn
>have to restart
Fuuuck, can't they just have the creation screens up front??
Yeah but you don't have access to buy OP gear at lv10 so it doesn't matter, shops don't sell the best gear from the start. By the time you can actually spend 300k on anything you'll be expected to make 300k anyways.
Sure you could buy a lot of healing items but you can do that anyways, your weight limit is going to kick in before lack of money even at low level.
>make perfect 10/10 qt
>wait, who the fuck is that? that can't be the character I made
fucking ingame lighting
>start as strider
>"oh hey biting wind sounds like a good skill"
I bought it on pc just to realize I have no urge to play it again. It has 1 city in the entire game, there is nothing to it but slashing monsters all day . and most of the monsters sit around like punching bags.the gameplay is fine and the monsters are cool though. it's just very uninspired and soulless
>WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS
This is my only complaint.
Not that they talk.
Hell, not even the fact that they spout the same 7 lines forever.
Just... a little scripting from Capcom's side.
Like, maybe, have them not talk over each other?
Or perhaps not have pawn A start monologue 1, and before pawn A is done with monologue 1, start monologue 2 from the same pawn?
I don't mind hearing about the wolves, but everyone doesn't need to tell me about wolves AT THE SAME TIME.
>Can't sprint for more than 10 seconds without running out of breath
I don't know what else I was expecting.
wait, do warriors really only get 3 skills?
I'm not really one for gameplay-altering mods but I seriously don't think it'd break the game if you just got 3 more sword/hammer skills tied to LB/L1/whatever the m/k shortcut is.
I'm really not big on climbing and it feels super awkward. So I'm okay with warrior not being able to do that, which is why I started playing it. But having such limits on your moveset really sucks.
It looks very magic'y, and considering it gives literally 0 strength, I'm kinda' guessing that it does magic damage.
Thank you. I feel like a retard for asking, but I appreciate the non-sarcastic reply.
But I like the pawn chatter. Sometimes they even say useful things.
But like, maybe Capcom could have coded the game as to not tell me EVERY fight.
Like, if it notices that I'm cutting of Sauros (the lizard-things) tails, then maybe the game could fucking acknowledge that I understand the part about the wolves?
It doesn't even really bother me until you have 3 people screaming at the top of their lungs about wolves.
>mfw I am giving all my presents and shit to the beggar girl on the bridge in Gran Soren
>mfw she is mai waifu and I get to rescue her.
I´m liking it, started as a fighter but then I realized shields are for faggots* and switched to assassin, I´m liking it a lot more, but I have one question, I saw a webm of some guy climbing a cyclops or some shit and SATBBING it with a sword/dagger, is there a weapon thing a class thing or what? I was expecting that dagger users stabbed when climbing but they just slash.
*Disclaimer: shields are not actually for faggots
That's what I love about most of the monster designs in this game, it really feels like you're playing through a medieval world as brought to life by classical art.
It's the same with the Chimera, it just looks fucking brilliant. And the way the dragons you fight around the world speak latin is an unnerving touch.
>post yfw THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>one of those red phantasms just possesed my pawn
>I was like 3 rooms away so I couldn't be assed to do anything about it
>the camera cuts away from to and positions itself so I watch her get dragged into the floor by the thing
>killing her instantly
I-I'm so sorry
>*Disclaimer: shields are not actually for faggots
you bet your ass they're not
>B to talk
>X to give presents
>Hit X too early and stab them in the face and blow all your affinity
So when do I start doing more than chip damage as a sorcerer? My fighter waifu is dealing quadruple the damage I am, and the only time I do more than her is when I waste half my stamina and five seconds casting the Grand Fire spell.
Sit your main pawn down and tell him not to talk as much.
And no I'm not kidding, literally go to any Inn and find the Knowledge Chair and you can change pawn behavior so they don't speak as much. I believe there's a guide somewhere on the wiki for what the semi-cryptic choices mean.
There is a "flare" magic arrow that illuminates an entire cavern. You can get it as a magic archer. Before I switched I thought magic archery was dumb, but then I realized you can literally do anything as a magic archer.
>Melee with knives
>ranged with bow
>magic with wand
The best part is that I can use other classes' augments/skills as a magic archer. So you can roll AND float with a wand anytime you want.
you can literally just check the base stats of your weapons. If the magick value is above 1 it'll do at least split damage and the magick part will scale with your own magick stat just like any strength value will scale with your own strength stat.
I can't force myself to play the game anymore...I don't know what's wrong with me.
I really like the feel and atmosphere you get but most of the game feels just so boring.
I know this will sound horrible but I honestly had easier time playing through Skyrim.
>Run out of stamina while sprinting
>Pawn pats me on the back and tells me not to overdo it
You know that feeling, when you really like the game in theory and want to play it but for some retarded reason your body doesn't want to play it.
It's some stupid tired gamer syndrome or some shit.
Yeah this game starts out slow but man it really picks up as you get on later.
My arisen. I'm gonna remake my pawn pretty soon so not gonna bother posting it.
Wow, thanks a lot Anon.
Btw I am spending all my prestige(?) points as soon as I get them in skills, I´m not fucking anything up right?
That's the point of the Sorc. Any time you're shooting your little chippy beads you're wasting your time.
Sorc is all about getting covered by your pawns so you can unleash a gigantic maelstrom, or meteors from above.
they're the real heavy hitters of the game. Or maybe glass cannon is more accurate.
I just want to point out this very strange thing about another RPG which people on /v/ very often shit on, Oblivon.
Playing through Witcher 3 and now DD and looking back at all of their quests as well as quests in a lot of older ARPGs and JRPGs, hell even CRPGs, I cam to a realization that somehow Oblivion has better quests than majority of vidya out there.
Everything other than main quest was good, all of guild quests, all of Daedric quests, random quests like Painted World, all of them were consistently good and not just on the writing side, they often introduced interesting mechanics and gimmicks in them.
Am I the only one who feels that way? Looking back I think that if Oblivion didn't have the Cyrodiil lore rape and if level scaling wasn't bad it would be loved on here.
M&K or Gamepad? I can't decide...
Especially since I chose Strider, Mouse seems easier to aim with your bow, but having to having to press Q to switch takes some getting used to, whereas it feels easier on the gamepad to simply hold a shoulder button.
What are you guys using?
>tfw Rook just isn't cutting it anymore
>My main pawn is level 15
>Rook is still level 6
Rook is having trouble keeping up I feel. Should I bench him or will he gradually improve if I stick with him? He was my first pawn so if I could keep him it would be nice, but game is starting to get harder and he's always the first one to need help.
Also the fact that it has one of the best expansions ever made helps.
>not replacing Rook ASAP
Por que no los dos?
Seriously, this game has some of the best on-the-fly control scheme switching I've ever seen in a game. I'll often use my PS4 controller for general gameplay and my KB+M for menus and shit.
The problem is that I can't do anything at the start of the game at all, and I need to keep this up for another 10 levels before speccing into Assassin. I'm literally hitting maybe a tenth of their bar every normal instant cast of the spell.
You're stronger than chimeras, and the bandits spend a lot more time roughing it out in the wilderness than you, why wouldn't they be stronger? Those bandits have probably killed hundreds, thousands of monsters before you even picked up a sword. They aren't allowed to pussy out and hide in town when it gets dark, they're always out there.
Assassin's have a sword skill called Gouge that let's them plunge the sword into what ever they are mounted on and stab the shit out of it. This attack does nothing when on the ground. They also have access to the dagger skill called "100/1000/Scarlet Kisses" that when on the ground does a flurry of slashes ending in a roundhouse kick and when mounted does a flurry of slashes.
Those are the specialized climbing attack skills, Magic Archers also get Immolation which also works while mounted.
1. When I kick rented pawn, should I strip him first?
2. DO I HAVE TO WALK EVERYWHERE?
It was a good run Rook. You served me well.
Don't know what to tell you dude, sorry.
Did you level up much as Mage? Because a lot of their spells carry over to Sorc, so you can have things like Ingle, Comestion, and Levin I'm pretty sure. They're good starting spells that don't take too much time to charge so you should be able to get some hits in. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. Hang in there bro, Sorc is well worth it.
Do you have high frazin/igni?
Do you realize those spells have two charge meters?
Did you enhance your weapon?
If all those are checked and you're still doing shit damage, you're lying.
>no one's used my elf slut sorcerer
what am I doing wrong?
Stripped gear doesn't go to you and once you hit Gran Soren you can visit the inn and get the Eternal Ferrystone that lets you fast travel to Portal crystals. The two default ones are Cassardis and Gran Soren but you can pick up more and drop them wherever you want.
>trying out Gicel on a cyclop in watergod shrine
>it destroys the fucking pillars in his room and sends rubble to his direction
>what am I doing wrong?
Nothing really, apart from being a low level and not having good equipment. No one hired my Pawn until I conquered the BBI and had Dragonforged equipment. Then I was waking up to a shit ton of RC each day.
>If all those are checked and you're still doing shit damage, you're lying.
Well, I'm sorry to say but that's how it is. Like I said, unless I do a full triple charge which wastes half my stamina bar and takes about five seconds to charge I won't do more than chip damage. With the High Fire spell a single charge does nothing to the point that doing five hits of a light attack inflict the same damage in a faster amount of time, the second charge does maybe a sixth of their health in the three hits, and the third charge does maybe half health if I'm lucky and I have to run and reposition to even think of charging again. My fighter pawns aren't doing shit to draw anything.
Oh thank fuck. I think I'm closer to Gran Soren, so guess I'll just keep heading in that direction instead of going back. I mean items that the rented pawns collected in my game. Not things they had when they came.
I've had a good run so far, might pick it up on sale later on.
Not exactly rushing out to buy it since it has fuck all online which is a huge let down.
If it had coop and more interesting boss monsters it might have become a favourite.
Wasted potential honestly.
I reckon rebinding will be your only hope then anon.
>playing Strider with a PS4 controller
>swap L2 and R2 with L1 and R1 because I'm used to using the triggers for abilities
>tfw it still swaps the fire button for arrows so it's R1 now
Please god just let me die, this was the only thing that gave me the shits about DD back in the day and I still can't change it.
Aside from that though the PS4 controller works wonders and everything's automapped exactly how it was on PS3 because it's using the X360 controller framework.
I didn't expect 60FPS max graphics, but I mean Bioshock Infinite runs smoothly at 1080p and medium, Skyrim runs on Ultra, Far Cry 3 was fine...what's with Dragon's Dogma?
I'm kind of regretting making my main pawn Adolf Hitler instead of an attractive qt healer.
yeah remember 4 years ago how we had graphics like these
man how times change in 4 years
>Walking on the road
>Wolves pop out
>Walking off the road
>Those asshole Instakill bandits pop out
>Open a door
>Big goblins pop out
>Walk through a woodland area
>Chimera pops out
>Fighting a cyclops
>A fucking dragon flies up in the air nearby almost as if it's gonna air bomb my ass
I haven't done jack shit so far, pretty sure I'm not even grasping all of the game's mechanics properly, and I already love this fucking game. Now how do I become one of those huge shield niggas, do I gotta level up or some shit?
Are you playing on Hard? That's the only explanation I can give you for your shit damage output.
Like I said though, just gotta stick with it. Giant ice rape tentacles are worth it.
The difference between someone who plays 10 levels as every class and someone who minmaxes is only 200 damage by level 100
A totally negligible amount. /v/ is fucking retarded in thinking you need to or should minmax in this.
