This is going to sound weird, but Venom Snake sounds serious to the point where I actually CAN'T take him seriously anymore. He kind of clashes with Metal Gear's tone, even if Kojima was intentionally trying to be less goofy with it.
And he STILL doesn't sound like "Big Boss" to me, even now. Sure, after a couple of hours of gameplay, I'm used to it again, but whenever I go back to it, there's always an initial, "this doesn't sound anything like him" moment.
