I can't believe this fucking character is the fate of the entire Ape Escape series on /v/
You could say this about any game ever on /v/. Ape Escape threads are pretty similar to Dragon Quest threads, a little bit of discussion, lots of waifu and finally sadness because NEVEREVER games.
Don't respond to this people, it's just gets worse.
This. The game as a whole got a neat concept: "catch the monkeys then fight the bosses at some point". Unfortunately the game lacks innovation spanning 3 main titles. They added some gimmicks to spice things up a bit
being costumes the best.. They didn't however improved the catching formula like sneaking and stage puzzles. Most of the catch boils down to gung ho style and netting them up.
>tfw om still drawns Yumi
It's great when you favorite artist works on your favorite characters.
Yumi makes the games more fun to play for me, but what a character thats enjoyable for you does is make you see the good aspects of a game that are already there.
She's adorable, but to me the games are 8/10 with or without Yumi. I'm biased though, since I love the franchise as a whole.
>Year of the monkey.
It's the perfect chance for Sony to deliver, but
I can agree with that.
Seems to me that this artist single handedly made Ape Escape relevant again with that Yumi imageset. Before that Ape Escape threads were like the Medabots ones, a few posts and to the archive it goes.
Spike is cute too, but honestly though, when you compare loli/shota to actual child pornography, isnt it like comparing video game violebce to actual violence?, its another case of people not knowing the difference between fiction and reality
Snow levels always had the best sound though
Soichi Terada is fucking amazing, one of my favorite musicians, videogame or otherwise. I wish more games had /bleep/ bloops as soundtrack, too much orchestra and chiptune lately.
He's got a super unique sound that I don't think anyone's really gonna use again, but that makes it more special
I would rip the models if I knew how, I've got basic ass knowledge when it comes to tearing files apart
Koji's done some pretty cute stuff too though
Any other notable soundtracks by him that are must-listens?
I'm in love with the Ape Escape soundtrack and I haven't even touched the game in years.
Also, you guys should really check this out if you love AE1's music: http://vgmdb.net/album/23946
From what I remember, it's AE1's complete soundtrack remastered by the same producer that works with Britney Spears and a few other notable celebs or some shit. It actually sounds amazing and they've mastered it so that each track transitions into the next seamlessly, one long mix.
He did this game called Space Fisherman. It's noteworthy for a few reasons.
1. It's by LandHo! who is more or less Team Andromeda at Sega.
2. LandHo! only makes Just Dance games now.
>having this much shit taste
Its literally one of the best platformers ever made.
This, and a few other tracks from SSMM I just skimmed through, sound amazing. Anyone know where I can find a clean copy of this soundtrack? I'd love to hear it in high quality
Not either of those guys but if you've played the games recently 1 and 2 hold up really well, while 3 is just a cute ride because the morph gauge makes shit too easy, and the levels are designed around using your morph gauge more than your gadgets.
>lots of minimum use gadgets
>world locations theme is less cool than time travel and movies/TV
That said I still love it to death and it did some things even better than the other two.
3 and 1 had way better ost's but Koji's still a decent 7/10 but
>Minimum use gadgets
play 3 and tell me you use more gadgets than 2
>World locations aren't as cool
I'll give you this one aswell because of the lack of theming but I thought the levels were pretty cool
How is Kakeru the worst? He's got a rad design and his voice is good, plus his little chimp sidekick is freaking adorable. Satoru's probably the worst if you don't include his Morph forms
>play 3 and tell me you use more gadgets than 2
3 focused primarily on morphs so of course you use the gadgets less
>How is Kakeru the worst?
Kakeru is Spike and you don't unlock him until after you beat the game. I was talking about Jimmy.
I'm really having trouble locating an OST or rip for the music for "Saru! Get You! SaruSaru Big Mission"
Shame, it sounded so good
Shit I meant Jimmy, for some reason I thought his name was Kakeru, anyway I mostly like 2 because it had the nicest controls without being too easy. And shit I know it's a kids game, but the morph gauges were fun for the first few catches and then they kinda lost their gimmick. Also Monkey Football was cooler than mesal gear solid. I enjoyed 3 more as a kid though, I thought Cyber ace was the coolest shit ever
Why yes. It's no surprise she's an idol at her age.
>2 because it had the nicest controls without being too easy.
y'know that's actually true now that I think about it. the basic net catching always felt the best in 2.
>Monkey Football was cooler than mesal gear solid
One thing about 3 that none of the other games had was the hype though. I still get so fucking pumped whenever I morph into fantasy Knight
Who knew a game about being a kid, running around and smacking monkeys with your pulsating energy dildo would be so popular?
>Sony caught wind of that fact.
>Boys get energy blades.
>Girl character still gets the dildo.
Kei's stun club is the same as Yumi's (except blue and less girly). There's a stun blade in Million Monkeys, though.
It's a beat-em-up/action game with Ape Escape's gadgets and characters. It seemed neat from the little of it I emulated but I had no idea what I was doing.
Sweet thanks for the sick deets anon, but one thing. I've never done psp emulation and holy shit why are there so many rar files for the iso? I got the emu working easy but how do I know which one to unpack?
for one second there i thought exotic condenser released a new game or something
Found it: http://www.mediafire.com/?mqmybcro4yr
I beat Million Monkeys. That game was weird as fuck. It was somewhat of a disappointment since I thought it would be the greatest game ever. 1,2, and 3 are better. I wish we would get one more Ape Escape just one more. Please Sony.
Finished Ape escape 2 yesterday.
Holy fuck what an awesome fucking game.
and the good thing is that i still have 1 and 3 ahead of me.
OK thanks for the tip.
will do 3 first then.
The only thing I remember from pumped and primed were the cutscenes you got for playing as the one character that were all real life footage of people in suits
Haha, that's adorable
Kojima Production's first game is an Ape Escape reboot
Alright boys starting this game up now after finishing 2.
Boy or Girl?
is there any difference? i would probably prefer picking the boy just for consistency between games...
Oh, shit I should've said better looking morphs. They function the same, but it's preference. The only gameplay difference is that some monkeys will just sit around because they love her and her music or something like that. There's only like 3 monkeys that do that though
Well ... Here i go!
On the first run just have fun, and catch the monkeys, the shop down the stairs sells extra morph guages if you have trouble keeping the gauge high, and you can buy extra shit like music and art.
Just don't abuse morph forms where they aren't needed on the second run.
>tfw like loli
>tfw I'd fuck a loli like one in my animes in a heartbeat
>tfw anime loli are just tiny women without breasts but huge asses
>tfw these things aren't real
>tfw at least I won't go to prison I guess
Are you streaming this somewhere, by chance?
Probably 1 because of the controls, but 2 has the best "Challenging" bossfights and all around hardest monkeys to catch, unless you count catching final stage monkeys in 3 without using morph
