And no, it's not a good achievement. It's terrible. The difficulty of unlocking such an achievement increases over time, and therefore most of the people who will ever pull it off are simply the people who played the game early enough to get a high spot on the leaderboard before it became nearly impossible. You could become far better at the game than most of the people who ever got that achievement, and still not get it. Sure, the achievement is hard to get and that counts for something, but if you could look at all the people who have it, you'd see that it's based more on date of purchase than on skill.

both of those are bad examples of achievements though. Beating the game is standard so I expect most games to have achievements for it. But forced online achievements in a game that clearly isn't going to have a huge community are the worst. My favourite types of achievements are the really inventive ones or ones for finding easter eggs. Carrying the Gnome through the whole of HL2 Ep2 is probably my favourite achievement because of how different it is, and just how fun it was to pull off.
