This is one of the major reasons I didn't like the first XC. It's only barely manageable in this one because the resolution is decent. Monolith should really just develop for PC since they seem to think they're doing that already, these HUDs were clearly not made for a typical TV setup.

game will get no sequel. It's just a story that was gutted & reworked as best they could. The focus was on the gameplay and world.

a sequel would mean Sawano will come back & so too will the custom made avatar. Every Xenoblade has had a different feel & sound so it would be a shame to not carry on that tradition. Plus I'm ready for a new composer story & cast. It limits them if they have to drag the story & universe of XCX along with the next game. And I dont really want a sequel to a game thst feels like a Saturday morning anime show. Theyd have to spend time giving a back story to Rhyzz & Daghan, Goetia & Luxaar & if they dont then that will just sour me. The story was alright. I personally was satisfied with the ambiguous ending. I feel like Mira's story is pretty much finished. They don't need to make another game that involves Mira again There's no point honestly. Lao, I couldn't really care less about either. His motivations were pretty weak. If there was a sequel, they've alredy fucked up his character for me to really give a damn.

Even if it didn't feature the same cast, it would still be about shit from XCX, that's inevitable. And it just limits the next Xenoblade game if they're forced to stick with the XCX universe, answering all of the things they didnt touch upon (things that just arent interesting enough for me to want answered anyway).

The best route is a new universe, new cast & new story.

An expansion on what we have. I think they should bring back the Encourage prompt and other party interactions (IIRC, weren't you able to help up a toppled party member in XC?). That was the one thing I didn't like about XCX's battle system. You didn't really have to pay as much attention to your party members as you did in XC. The only interaction you had with them was reviving them or using the soul voices.

I read somewhere in GBATemp that the text engine in the jap version is pretty fucked up, so I guess NoA would've had a hard time fixing all the text.

This is purely speculation, but I think having a bigger fontsize may have been doable if the localization was English only, but since they also needed to include other languages like French and Spanish, NoA just decided to go for the small text.
