Strix is the top performer but I always by Gigabyte products
>>
>he's going to buy nvidias most expensive card right before pascal and a 30-50% price dump

have you always been a fucking mongoloid?
>>
Gigabyte G1 Gaming or EVGA Classified.
>>
>>324089419
I can't wait for Pascal I need one ASAP.
>>
>>324089239
Zotac's Amp Extreme edition.
>>
>>324089239
Msi
>>
They are all 980ti anon, some difference in fans and screw and shit but that's it. Also people who talk shit like they do know the difference between the same card from two makers, really don't.

I just bought a 390 for $330
did I get jewed or did I make a smart purchase?
>>
All the heavily overclocked ones seem to coil whine like a bitch, that is if you can hear it over the obnoxiously loud fans

I wouldn't get a 980ti unless you plan on running it at stock speed, just wait for pascal
>>
>>324089239
If price/ space is no issue. EVGA kingpin
Otherwise probably MSI Twin Frozr os ASUS Strix

I personally prefer the Gigabyte G1 Gaming because I like to compensate for my micro dick with the triple fan designs.

Should I wait for a price drop on the 980s or buy the next batch of gpu?

Still rocking 680 gtx but it's almost four years now and planning to upgrade.

Are you having issues running games to the level you would like to?
>>
>>324092409
no but im still using a 2gb gpu, now with the tax refund coming soon im planning to splurge for recent gpus
>>
>>324092804
Well if you're happy where you are, might as well wait.
>>
desu the EVGA GTX 980 TI KINGPIN is the best 980 TI out there objectively

I have a 760, is it worth upgrading to a 980?

You will never buy anything then because this is literally always the case and right when the next cards come out within a year or even a few months you will be saying the exact same thing.

you obviously have no fucking clue what you're talking about so kindly fuck off.
>>
>>324094527
I have a locked cpu in a z-97 as well.
What's the big deal, do I take a performance hit or something?
>>
>>324094527
What is the optimal CPU and Chipset then?
>>
>>324092409
I have a 670 and I can still run literally anything I want at mostly high settings. Every now and then I run into a game where I have to run medium. The difference in medium vs high or ultra outside of texture quality is so minuscule these days, though.

No, you obviously have no clue what the fuck you are talking about.

>>
>>324094812
>>324094818
Pre-skylake non-k CPUs can't be overclocked which is one of the main points of getting a Z-97 board.
You would've been better of getting an H-97.
>>
>>324095091
you're so fucking stupid. goddamn fucking inbreds posting on this board.

it doesn't matter if pascal work or not, maxwell will drop in price since it goes from being CURRENT gen to "PREVIOUS" gen overnight.
>>
>>324095147
Import taxes are a bitch.

1300 dollary doos here.
>>
>>324095212
Oh shit I knew that. I didn't notice there was no K next to it. Nevermind then.
>>
I'm liking my 980ti Hybrid from EVGA, easily got +150mhz core out of it ontop of the pre-overclock
>>
>>324095357
>it doesn't matter if pascal work or not, maxwell will drop in price since it goes from being CURRENT gen to "PREVIOUS" gen overnight.

Performance and availability dictates price for computer components. If pascall doesn't work out then maxwell won't plummet in price at all, doesn't matter if it's "old gen" or not. If it's only marginally better than maxwell will only marginally drop in price.
>>
Depends what you're aiming for.

ASUS is a nice all around with good factory clocks and STRIX models have 0% fan mode on idle/lower temps.

Gigabyte has a decent factory clocks but an amazing heatsink fan which results in a lot of overhead for clocking more or just keeping temps down. They are long as fuck though to accommodate their long, 3 fan heatsink design.

MSI is really hit or miss, same with Zotac. Check the reviews for either. MSI does have a nice pairing with Corsair for water cooled though if you're intent on really pushing it with overclocks.

EVGA doesn't necessarily have the best for clocks or cooling, but they have great customer service and lots of plans like trade in/replacement.

Free Tomb Raider, nicee
>>
>>324097237
970 is pretty good for 1080p
>>
I've got a Gigabyte G1 and it's been great.

I really like that the fans cut off when I'm not gaming or doing anything intensive.
>>
>>324097560

Same. It was the first card I've owned that had a 0% fan mode. Kind of shocked me when it first happened, the sudden stop of any audible noise from my PC caught my attention, thought something happened.

>>

Hey now, I said nothing about noise.

I'm talking about how its fan is trying to make it lift the computer off the ground since it blows harder than your Mom when rent is due.

>980Ti has an optional water cooling option from MSI

It's gonna fucking SUCK buying graphics cards when AMD finally goes under. Nvidia is price gouging already. When they have 0 competition, it's going to be a goddamn nightmare.
