Already sick of them. In the last 6 months played Witcher 3, Fallout 4, MGSV, Mafia 2, Black Flag and probably a bunch more. Theyre nice when done well like Witcher 3 where theres interesting shit all over the map and not like any of the ass creeds where theres just collectibles and thats it. More linear experiences can be great.

I agree, I preferred MGSV's over TW3, the Open World facilitated the gameplay, it's all the about the Open Infiltration, that's what it's made for. A lot of open worlds just try and create a bit messy sandbox full of pointless shit to do.

The map is totally empty aside from a smattering of very discrete points of interest. The game would have been much better off as a collection of Ground Zeroes style locations. Big enough that you have freedom, but small enough that they don't waste their and your time on a bunch of sand.

I would rather have loading screens with dozens of diverse maps instead of uninspired feilds of nothingness without them.

Thing is though, it was ALWAYS some cave or building ALWAYS filled with enemies to kill and loot for random, often useless shit. I do agree. A lot of the Witcher 3's contracts and places of interests were uninteresting and the smuggler's caches over Skellige was fucking bullshit. I'd still take Witcher 3 over Fallout 4 any day though.

I'm playing through Saints Row 3 right now and it's a perfect example of what I hate about open world games. There's just nothing to do in the whole city but replay longer versions of main missions. And most of those aren't even fun the first time around.
There are some collectables but they only give $1000 each and you make 30k every couple minutes just by leaving the game on. I did get a cool looking car/motorcycle from doing the hacking minigame but they're not any better performance wise than a lot of cars and trucks on the road after spending $200 to tune them up.

It seems to just be a meme thing to hate on MGSV on 4chan. Everywhere else people are praising it, especially on Steam. I watched some videos of it and I must say it is the most impressive looking game of any game I've seen released this year.

Look, I love the series, but I hate MGSV. I hated it before I came back to 4chan from my month long hiatus and I continue to hate it of my own accord. My opinions about the game are my own. The game is a disappointing turd.
