Playing pic related. Why is it so based?
>DAT BATTLE SYSTEM
>DEEZ BOSS BATTLES
Pic related was better sequel to Chrono Trigger and a better game. Prove me wrong.
>Liking Harle just to be contrarian and not like the most popular girl
Shit taste desu. Enjoy being cucked by Lynx when his giant cat cock fucks her and she betrays you for the dragons.
Cross is comfy as FUCK
>20 years later
>mfw I still can't tell Kid to fuck off and recruit Glenn for dual Einlanzer rape
It'd be a cool boss fight song. At first I thought it just sounded too frantic and fast-paced for routine battles, but remembered that's pretty much standard for all Square RPGs of that time. Now I think it's just the violin.
Holy fuck I thought it was just me. Every time I load it up, I tell myself this time I'm going to do it.
>can't tell her to fuck off
>can't not go fight the Hydra
I loved how Australian Kid was. and then she turned into a Japanese girl in Tokyo somehow?
Posting more best girl just for you
If I post more maybe you will remember
Who Serge/Kid/Razzly here??
Draggy, Fargo, Leah also acceptable answers.
I can't believe people unironically dislike Kid.
Are they just contrarians?
>Cut Magus from the game because there was too many characters.
>game gives you the option to save the worst girl from poisoning
>but you can't save the actually good waifu
Wrong thread, faggot
The game really could have benefited from hammering down on the main story and cutting out a dozen characters and a half and their quests. Added benefit is the ones that were left would get even more attention.
it's a vn broadcast for the super famicom satellaview, it was reworked into chrono cross (with tons of filler / padding / world building added to it) because the main creator was not satisfied
it's a what if alternate universe story. some forget that kato himself was responsible for everything to do with 12,000 bc
>What is this game and why should I care about it?
It's a shit-tier "game" that is entirely text-based and plays more like a "choose your own adventure" book than a video game
>Is it true this game ruins the story of the first game?
Depends on what you mean by "ruin."
If you mean "The main characters from the first game are all missing or dead, the kingdom that the main characters are from has been conquered because they picked a fight with a military genius from 10,000 years ago who traveled through time and raised an army to get his revenge, and the future might not actually be saved after all because an NPC from the first game who merged with the final boss of the last game split the timeline in two to save the main character of the second game's life when he was a child" then yes.
If you mean "the second game is shit and ruins the series" then no.
But, yeah, the second game kind of shits on everything the protagonists in the first game accomplished.
Then again, there are consequences for fucking with timelines.
so is this the neo-/v/ thing to do now? endlessly shower praise to super shitty widely hated games?
lately there's been a ton of chrono cross threads and now DmC threads with people defending it.
Is something in the drinking water of today's youth or something? You can't all seriously be this retarded and tasteless.
has a sizable cult following, even back in the early 2000s remember it being liked or at worst was just said to be boring
Did anyone else here try to beat the final boss just by pounding away at it the first time, only to be severely annoyed with the lack of a proper ending so you looked it up online and found out that you had to use the elements in a certain order and use the chrono cross to get the real ending?
Yeah. I think that's the game's biggest weakness. Even if you pay attention during the game, you probably won't figure out the special order bullshit you have to do to get the good ending.
There was some tone shit wasn't there? Each element/color made a certain tone and somewhere in the game you hear the order of tones and have to try to recreate it in the final boss just by ear. That's what I remember reading anyway.
I'm completely deaf in one ear, partially deaf in the other, and did not have internet back when I played this. Shit pissed me off when I was finally able to look it up years later.
yeah there are some crystals or whatever in a room in Terra Tower that you have to pass through to get to the dragon god, and it plays the sound you're supposed to make in that room. It's never specifically stated that you have to do that during the final battle with the Devourer of Time, though.
I wonder if anyone figured it out on their own.
I know I didn't.
>mfw I did it the first time
my roomates Mom never played a game before, and he just came home one day, to see her further than him on it, and the next day, she used chrono cross on her 1st go, and figured it out on her own.
I never got that far myself, so idk how hard that really is, but sounded impressive.
Though she liked it, she refused to play any other games. (including other RPGs)
I like CT, played it first, but I liked that the cast got fucked up in CC. Ballsy move that I don't think modern SE would do now.
I know people cry bullshit over Crono, Lucca, and Marle apparently being too strong for any other humans to fight, but we don't know enough details about how they died to call bullshit on. Doesn't matter how strong you are, if someone put a bullet in your head, knife in your throat, etc you're dead. Lucca we know the most details about but I don't think we ever actually see how she died in the segment you travel back in time to save Kid.
