are you pc players enjoying this master piece?
which class did you choose?
I personally picked the archer mage on my first run but it wasn't my favourite so I went for greatsword on the ng+
still haven't tried the expansion and I have it sitting on my shelf since day one....
Do you think he's happy that his game finally runs well?
My character looks too manfaced in-game. For fucks sake.
1, I use DS4 through DS4Windows. Normally a game detects it as 360 controller. But for this game it's all fucked into numbers. Why is that?
2, Why doesn't Nvidia detect this game for Shadowplay? Can't display frame rate with Nvidia either.
>1, I use DS4 through DS4Windows. Normally a game detects it as 360 controller. But for this game it's all fucked into numbers. Why is that?
I have the same problem as well and it's annoying as HELL.
I want to support this game, I really wanted it on pc, so I am about to walk up to the store and buy a steam card so I can purchase the game instead of pirating it.
Does this game have any online features? I remember hearing about some kind of pawn system.
Nope this game is fucking awful.
I feel really sorry for consolecucks if this is what they consider to be a good game.
I thought i was going to have tons of fun revisiting this game on PC but I now realize i've done pretty much everything there is to do in the game and the better performance isn't going to change that.
Yeah every player makes a sidekick for themselves, then other people can hire them from the Rift. That gets you rift crystals which is basically a special currency. So you're basically pimping your pawn. That's all the multiplayer interaction there is
>Immediately swapped the chapel bitch back into Flying Into Free
Everything is as it should be.
Oi, which torrent do You recommend?
I'm quite confused seeing one 6 gb from Seyter on pirate bay. And two on kickass, one being repack-maxagent 7 gb and a 20 gb sc/ skidrow I guess.
Which would be the right one?
>steam simply doesn't want to start up anymore at all
no I have had this with this shit, everytime I preload a steam game it ends up taking 3 times longer to unpack it compared to actually downloading the fucking game
How's the game run? Does it run great like DMC4, or bad like DMC4SE?
>Make my pawn
>Get out into the game world
>Immediately realise she's too short
I'm assuming there's no way to change their apperance after the initial creation? Or at least, not until a ways into the game?
Arrived at Gran Soren, and taking a break. I love how good the textures look, especially on the brickwork in Gran Soren.
I've noticed there's something weird going on with how the window displays, i'm sure nvidia will fix it eventually.
>muh gamepad rpg!!
>come guise, come enjoy the gamepad rpg experience LOL!
This is such a pathetic generation of gamers..
Japs always have such weird keyboard buttons
The first area you'll go to is the encampment. There's a tent with a pawn selling an item that lets you change the appearance of yourself and your pawn one time. There's also a better one that works infinitely but I'm not sure if it's available right from the start. They also cost rift crystals which you won't have at the beginning, but if someone hires your dude you'll get some pretty fast
I get my Shadowplay symbol indicating I can make shadowplays but the frame rate display doesn't show up.
I'm using a ps2 controller with adapter and it does the same with me. I tried using x360ce as well, and it did pick it up as a 360 controller but that didn't help much either.
Go into DS4 settings and tick "Hide DS4 Controller"
Challenger makes them attack the strongest enemies, scather makes them attack weaker ones, mitigator focuses on ranged enemies. Two of those probably so that they'll be useful in battle. Medicant is only good for healer mages and pioneer and collector or whatever it was called are pretty useless. Oh yeah and guardian too, never go guardian
Read about them on the wiki, but in general everyone wants Utilitarian primary pawns, because they can work together if they're all Utilitarian.
Utilitarian Mages/Sorcs buff more, synchronize spells more.
Utilitarian Ranged characters hang back from the fray and aim better.
Utilitarian Fighters and warriors focus more on disabling enemies, either holding them down, or using grappling moves like Soul Skewer.
In addition to all that, Utilitarian pawns can just call out actions that other pawns will follow through. Like one utilitarian pawn will grab a goblin, and the other is already ready to attack the pinned down monster because they planned that. Meanwhile the idiot nexus pawn is doing nothing.
I'd say shoot for Utilitarian as the Primary, and then Scather or Mitigator as secondary if you want your pawns to focus on the strongest monster, or the weakest small fry respectively.
>uninstall dragons dogma
>dragons dogma is still installed and stuck
Come on dude.
>Bad writing/voice acting
>One out of three base classes are worthless to play
>No middle ground; enemies either go down in one hit or are bullet sponges that take forever
>Exactly one town, no matter how well-designed it might be
Only thing it has going for it is the combat, and even that isn't anything great when games like DMC and Bayo exist.
>annoyingchiptune shit playing at max volume
>nearly get a fucking heart attack
why do they do this to me
>tfw 4 year old mid tier PC can handle everything on high
Cut scene animations are pretty garbage 2bh
What's the best pawnout?
I've 1 sword guy and 2 lady wizards, me being le edgy "DPS" guy, not sure on class evolution yet seeing as I've never played before
>make fat balding asian man
>cute little loli pawn
A DREAM COME TRUE
tfw my graphics card can't handle it, which surprised the fuck out of me
Anon from the first post.
In case this is of any help I tried the one on piratebay.
Seemed to work fine beside bugs in the likes of trouble writing the name.
A friend however seemed unable to install it.
I wonder if this Seyter version is not the one leaked from before, hence lack of fixes and the filezise? I'm downloading
post yfw capcom cuckholded buyfags
I just checked the box myself and it instantly just switched to "INSTALLED" even though it didn't download anything and restarting Steam did nothing. Just gotta wait for Capcom to fix it because it's on their side.
The DLC's still registered to my account, nigguh.
to add to that, having a bigger character means youre heavier so you are harder to knock down. you have slight super armor if you will.
you can grapple/hold down enemies better also.
so yeah, all those faggots making loli warriors, youre fucking doing it wrong.
if you want to make loli characters, make them a magic user since smaller sizes means you regain stamina faster
>Hmm, what to do about my simple issue? Go to the steam forums and find the answer in 2 seconds?
>NAH THAT'S TOO EASY LET'S JUST USE /v/ AS THE TROUBLESHOOTING FORUM AND TYPE LIKE A FUCKING AUTIST
I am definitely enjoying it
Started as a rogue and did a warrior muscular brown pawn to help me.
I'm just at the beginning I just defeated the hydra.
I really like so far.
I just hope I didn't fucked up my class already.
Guys, everytime I plug in my controller to play the game, all the on screen icons are fucking numbers and not the usual Xbone icons, the fuck is going on?
Hey guys, made a Guts build.
How do I put my pawn up for sale? Also, I'm trying to hire one of my friend's pawns but when I search for them it says no information has been retrieved. How do I get my friend's pawn?
Post your pawns and Arisens
Currently she's a level 47 sorc for hire, will summon meteors and set things on fire for you
Is this game find on m+kb or do I need to use my PS3 controller to make it playable?
Pic related is mine, I kept doing it again and again starting from different presets until I gave up and then forgot to change the eyebrows and skin colour.
I'm contempt with it though.
I can't tell whether this is shit or not, I feel as if I've made a mistake
Whatever you want. Seriously all you people asking these questions, stats don't matter. You're just killing the fun for yourselves by worrying about leveling up. Besides mystic knight still has physical attacks too
apparently its fine on mouse and keyboard, but I have a feeling that the controller will feel better seeing as it was designed for that TB talks about it I forget at what time tho
Yeah, you can max the fuck out of it assuming you actually have a 670. It'll have a couple minor drops under 60, but they'll be rare.
Oh shit, the 675 actually does exist, laptop card eh.... ok, framerate won't be always above 60 in that case, but you'll be fine still
yeah that's mein kampf anon, thank you tho
It's a common misconception, but MK doesn't really have to care much about magick. Cannons are still 40% strength, elemental riposte's biggest damage factor is the incoming hit rather than your own stats, and most of their abilities are magick shield stats + personal stats with total disregard for the weapon. Even if you went full sorcerer to 200, your personal stats would be less than 50% of your total magick, and because canons are split damage the lost strength on sorcerer means they end up being the same output anyway.
Split damage like the cannon tends to do much worse on BBI where they actually gave enemies defenses, and splitting your output just makes it harder to punch through either threshold. All this combined with the final BBI MK mace being pure strength, means the strongest MK you can make is actually pure strength using abyssal anguish.
>its hard in dd to make a good looking girl
lol no its not.
seems like the only people that say this are people who cant make anime looking lolis in the game because theres no options to do so.
Why aren't you playing a grizzled veteran yet?
I started the game 2 minutes ago, and already I can't play this. Who is the faggot that thought it was a good idea to make the game freeze with each hit?
It looks like a fun game, but unless there's a mod/patch/fix/ini tweak, I can't play this, it gives me motion sickness.
The game looks beautiful tho, animations are interesting and it runs silky smooth on a 6950 max settings, so there's always that.
Male or Female ?
Normal or Hard difficulty ?
Controller or KB+M ?
Anyone playing the ps3 version? My pawn needs some love.
female, make a
I'd do normal cause the game's hard in the begining already save hard for the second playthrough imo
Controller all the way
>Buy starting gear
>Go to Inn and put my old shirt in storage
>Get bunch of free OP shit
Should I just restart?
That's what I was thinking. I almost always go gamepad for 3rd person games
Optimally I'd like to see if the game can transition between keyboard and mouse inputs to gamepad and vice versa on the fly.
Then I can use my steam controller and be max comfy and have more accuracy for muh archery.
I'm trying to help out, mah nigga.
Lock onto enemies. Here is a tip about the mage though.
Don't play them, you'll steamroll the whole game with no problems until you get to bitterblack, you'll get your ass beat
The biggest difference is you take double damage and abilities drain stamina twice as fast. On the flipside, you get double exp and absurd amounts of gold. Enemies don't get more health, and pawns aren't affected.
This means the early game can be a lot harder due to the increased damage, but leveling twice as fast means you reach the point where that doesn't matter quickly and just kill enemies faster.
Personally, I don't think the mode is very balanced and ultimately doesn't introduce much more difficulty. It's more like a fun thing to do once to get two unique armor pieces you probably won't bother to use.
>obviously you didnt play it
Well, only for 3 hours as of yet, as I stated above. And the combat so far has been incredibly dull, yes. I have 2 attack moves, no real combos and a handful of skills which also don't really combo. It's cool that you can climb on monsters though. Maybe I'm just not seeing it yet but so far the game hasn't offered me anything that I wouldn't find a better version of in another game.
Is this a good port? I don't want to experience the DS2 debacle again.
Wait until you fight actually fun large monsters, any of the flying ones are great, griffin is a personal favorite of mine, you have to climb on top of it to knock it out of the sky and break its wings so it can't fly anymore.
Is there any point to doing enhancements one at a time, or is just putting it straight at 3 stars if you have the materials the way to go?
It seems like skipping straight to 3 just saves gold and materials.
>only for 3 hours
there's your problem you haven't gotten to the cool shit anon. It's called progression whats the point of being super powerful if you were never a weak little turd?
it just strait up saves you the gold and the materials, you can also skip all of it and dragon forge your stuff but its a really low percent if your gear isnt upgraded. Three star equipment has a better chance of getting dragon forged so its pretty worth while to do it
depends on what you find fun - if you enjoy the challenge of positioning yourself at the back of the pack, trying to avoid being targeted while standing still for 10 seconds to charge up your super awesome spells, it can be fun
if you don't like the idea of having to constantly position yourself "away" from the action and want to be in the thick of things, then you'll hate it
Thanks - I just wanted to be certain. I tried doing a few upgrading one at a time to see if there was any change, but I couldn't find anything.
Just wanted to be certain I wasn't missing out on anything.
Niggas, how do I know where a quest is taking me?
I took all the quests from the billboard by the pawns guild in Gran Soren, all the "kill X monsters" quests, but when I mark them and look at the map it's not marked anywhere?
Board quests aren't marked only side quests(given by an npc) and main quests will show you the location on the map.
I recommend taking all board quest, (except escorte) as you'll complete 90% of them while just traveling to main quest locations.
regretting edgelord scar but I think she came out decent.
Had a female Dante/ciri in mind while making her.
The only thing Sorcerer really struggles with are those drakes spamming lightning spells above you because you literally can't charge casts. Especially that final room before Daimon, where like 3 of them chain-cast at you.
The really shitty thing about Sorcerer is the moment you realize that the basic staff focused bolt you started the game with that has like a half second charge time and no movement restrictions does way more damage than your spells. Especially holy bolts, which two of the most important bosses are crazy weak to. You rip off multiple life bars of Daimon per shot with almost no charge time.
Thank you! The other one turned out even better.
Tried to do a John Wick Arisen.. looks like shit ingame.
yes, unless you leveled them 200 levels or something silly - and again, you get their passives and it's encouraged to play around all the vocations - your equipment matters much more than your raw stats
your equipment matters more than your raw stats, even if you put all 200 levels into pure fighter and then switched to sorcerer, you'd only be short ~400 on a ~2700 magic attack - don't worry about min-maxing to such extremes, you're ruining the fun for basically nothing
I've looked for the digital artwork/content that came with my pre-order but my dumbass can't find it in the files.
Can anyone point out where they're at for me?
>no berserk armor
>no dual audio
>no wind is pushing me
It is definitely running and looking a lot better on PC. Maybe with an active modding community we can fix those things.
Probably not though since the game has a big online component and that kinda means modding is limited.
Two of those three are already fixed.
Anyway I couldn't be bothered fucking around with sliders for too long.
But John Wick has a moustache!
Oh, so can I re-do my Arisen somewhere?
>have a corei7 2600 and a nvidia gt630
>the game runs at 60fps 720p
Im so fucking happy
R8 my arisen
I'm going for a tomboyish style, not sure if I should lighten up the skin color though
you can buy an item at the first camp that lets you redo your entire appearance for you or your pawn
rest at the inn in gran soren and it'll upload to the servers
to out yourself as a degenerate pedophile
just use whatever magic you want the magic typing doesnt really matter. Just know that most things are weak to fire in the main game and most are weak to holy on bitterblack isle
Your character kind of reminds me of someone from Gantz
>you can buy an item at the first camp that lets you redo your entire appearance for you or your pawn
Fucking sweet, gonna do a Danny DeVitto pawn too. Thnks man.
Caska/10, would demonic rape
Anyone else getting this? I can't install the game, just preload it. What the fuck?
Tip for all new players before going to Gran Soren, do the quest "Lost and Found", failing to do this before going to Gran Soren will result in a quest failed. This is bad because Lost and Found is the prerequisite for about 4 more quests. (Including the arisen's bond
>tfw don't give people access to your qt pawn because you're afraid no one will pick her
Damn it's been a while since I've played.
Give it to me straight families: I like grinding
don't bully, will I like this game?
Started as a warrior. Game is mediocre at best. Won't hold me over until Dark Souls 3. Will give it another shot, but probably just going to refund it.
>focusing on the graphics
You're not even kidding, are you..
Beside the game itself is well optimized, with a nice mood, style and theme to it.
Are there weapon restrictions on classes? From what I played that seemed to be the case. I want to use a greatsword (which I haven't found any of yet) and I feel like an assassin wouldn't be able to use those.
Yes, for instance a sorcerer can only use an archistaff, while a warrior can only use a longsword. The class with the biggest weapon selection is the assassin, they can use swords, daggers, shields, and a shortbow, easily making them the most versatile class.
Greatswords are only used by Warriors, and you can buy one when you reach Gran Soren (roughly when you'd be able to change class from Fighter to Warrior anyway).
You can also get one for free right in front of Cassardis, but it requires being a mage to get it early. On the cliffs to the left is the back-door to the witchwoods, and mages can actually run and levitate slide up the wall to reach it. There's a chest up there that has a chance to drop a two-hander (save in front of it, and go kill yourself from fall damage if you don't get it to try again). Using this method to get into Witchwood can also be a fun way to do an early quest that would otherwise lead you past bandits much higher level than you.
If I want to go for a decent play with somewhat realistic, reasonable or challanging damage..
Then normal or hard mode it is?
Is it really like that..?
Any immediate bits of advice (like "don't put points into resistance" for dark souls) or technical issues?
Especially technical issues, I held off buying it because old ports coming to steam usually have a lot of inconvenient features left over.
pretty great so far, played it to death on ps3. But it is so nice not having the game not drop to sub 20 fps all the time. Only complaint is how fucking low the sound is even when cranked up to max settings. Had to turn my headphones up x3 higher than I normally have them to really hear anything
Strider = cqc dagger fighter. Can rain arrows from the sky.
Ranger = Spam one op ability with your high stamina. (Tenfold flurry)
Assassin = Variety, most weapons. Have an ability that makes them fight at 2x speed.
Magic Archer = Op if built correctly, weak if not. Use element arrows and can light themselves on fire to damage to bosses.
Should I just brave hard mode on my first character? I want a challenge
I only played the PS3 version briefly, only killed some goblin leader in some fort after Gran Soren.
It seemed OK apart from Cylops monsters taking a shit load of time to kill.
Don't head to Bitterblack Isle until you beat Grigori. (You'll know when you beat him).
Also if your ocd about stats, every class gives different stat points at level up. For example assassin gives 6 strength a level up whil sorcer gives 6 magic a level up. Every class will give you some of each stat, but generally focus on one theme. (Example striders and rangers get balanced stats.
>game was running fine earlier
>tried to transfer my save from pirated copy to Steam
>every time I open the game now it just freezes on a black screen and doesn't work
why is this happening to me
Hard mode is just avoiding one-shots at early levels. It doubles your xp and gives so much gold that you quickly blow past any challenge that taking double damage entails, and the only thing annoying left is stamina drain.
Anyone playing with a really shit computer? I want to check how it runs on my thinkpad, which torrent is the safest? Alternatively if someone's on a shit machine you can just tell me how it runs. Rocking Intel 3000 integrated graphics here
When do I start seeing player pawns, or is the online not working yet? All the pawns so far have been computer generated and there doesn't seem to be an option to get player pawns to show up.
not sure what class to make my pawn for maximum whoring.
i played DD on ps3 and for the most part people seemed to always hire a healer.
Im guessing the general census is about the same for the PC version?
>All these people ITT with laptops
PC MASTER RACE HUH
>tfw you got cucked into building one
Can I play as a Warrior and switch to Assassin as soon as I'm about to level up and still get the Assassin stat growth? Then switch right back to Warrior and continue playing repeating this process
This game has the shittiest auto-save, I swear.
Yes, but why? Warrior and fighter have pretty good stat gains, especially if you don't like to fall over instantly. You'll be able to do online Ur Dragon just fine even leveling as fighter for 200 levels.
Make sure to save manually and often.
Also you get 2 saves: the checkpoint(whenever you rest at an Inn, and your manual/autosave slot. The checkpoint save will stay until overriden by resting at inn/camp or going into a riftstone.
>I expected it to be more dark-souls like,
FOR ANYONE THAT HAS AN ISSUE WITH THE GAME BOOTING UP TO A BLACK SCREEN WITH THE IN GAME CURSOR:
Go to c:\users\appdata\CAPCOM\DDDA\config.ini
delete that shit, make a backup if you're paranoid.
This happened to me after the game crashed after an alt tab. I searched around and found a fix for the same problem in Dragon's Dogma Online. I gave it a try and it worked.
>play 5 hours with huge amount of players
>nobody hires my pawn
massive feeling of disappointment.
So how weapons with magic damage work in this game? Like if i have a weapon with 50/50, it does 100 damage total to my normal attacks or only 50 physical and 50 extra for magical skills?
>tfw accidentally gave my character downsyndrome.
Vehemence = +100 Strength, obtained from the Fighter Vocation.
Clout - +200 Strength, obtained from the Warrior Vocation.
Attunement - +100 magic, obtained from Mage vocation
Acuity - +200 magic, obtained from sorcerer vocation.
Bloodlust - raises strength and magic at night, obtained from assassin vocation.
Autonomy - raises strength and magic when not using ANY pawns. Obtained from assassin vocation.
Strider, Assassin, or Magic Archer are the best for climbing.
But of the two, choose ranger, they can use hundred kisses when climbing.
>Is it possible to be a muscle-wizard?
Yes Mystic Knights can cast spells in armor, with either a staff, shield, or sword.
you can stab shit to death with both daggers and sword, Sword in particular is effective because of the unique Assassin skills they get for stabby stabby
Magick Archer can stab shit to death whilst also setting yourself on fire that rips into everything around you or what your clung onto.
I started with strider, got that to max vocation rank and switched to mage.
At first it was shit and I was fucking weak as piss but then I got high firaga and started rekking shit.
Whereas it took me 30 minutes to kill a chimera before now I just firaga its ass and it dies in 5.
After playing this in gloomy mode so many times I wanted something a little more colorful.
I just don't have a rig, haven't really needed anything but a laptop
The ones that only work at night should only be used during post-game and Bitterblack Isle, otherwise, it's not worth it.
Off topic, another augment I forgot to mention was sinew, an auvment that essentially doubles your carry weight. Making even loli pawns able to hold about 30 pounds and stay light.
Should I just sell the monocle? Or would that be like cheating? I'm reading I can just buy it later if I feel like it.
Does the gold even matter?
Anyone else having issues with not receiving feedback after sharing pawns? my friend and I have been using our pawns for 5-6 levels then sending them back and updating them.
Assuming it is not just me. But if you got some feedback somehow let me know.
I am getting my absolute SHIT pushed in during the thrid or so bandit encounter. Its a bunch of them around a rock, and theres two big guys with swords and shields that can just stunlock and combo everyone in my party to death immediately.
its does the 100 but of course there are resistances involved with the magic, but don't let that stop you from using them if you have a weapon with 100 attack and one with 80 atk and 30 magic the magic one should be better especially if its fire
getting gold so you can afford pilgrim charms to then farm more gold/exp/dp is a good investment.
alternatively you can piss around with the blessed flower exploit and get Weal that way.
he's not that bad just know he puts you to sleep and then one shots you so either be VERY careful or wear full sleep resist. Also note pawns simply dont understand death and get killed by him all day
5000 rift crystals will let you buy a recustomization item at the encampment. Rift crystals drop like candy in Bitterblack Isle, so you could try going there and finding some.
Enemies don't scale to your level, everything is set to a specifc level. Either flee and return later, or buy a shitton of curratives(the game's equivalent of potions), or dance arouns the enemy taking pug shots.
