Stop showing everyone your terribad poorly misinformed OC.
Dorrie is fucking the same, but with goggles.
Boss Bass was changed in 64, and later was changed again in recent games to resemble his first appearance in SMB3. Plus, who fucking cares? The same is said to Dorrie.
I fucking hate this place. Saged and reported.
I swear to chirst all these anti-nintendo threads lately are the same 2-3 people.
>even fans are against Nintendo. They aren't appealing to anyone but fanboys
inb4 "real fans" and "fanboys" are two different things
Remake maintains a better consistent art style with the series.
Both those remakes are superior, even if mm added little, that doesn't subtract it from being a great remake.
Some of the changes are oddly worse, I'm not sure what they were thinking.
You can turn that off, but it's an improvement and creates a new dynamic on the stage. H2 stages were known for having little intractable elements.
Even as a kid I thought Link's model in OOT and MM looked ugly and wished they had the graphics to make him look like he did in the art.
Go cry about your lack of muddy N64 textures someplace else.
Whoops, meant for >>324059319
I feel like this is a misinterpreted response to BROWN AND BLOOM criticism 360 games got.
the lighting and mood is actually great in the top one, they tried to make it more vibrant and it just looks cheap
OoT isn't the only game they've brighten the fuck out of and it's only gotten worse and hell OoT's textures aren't even bad enough to complain about the character models
Since it's on a handheld they could be compensating for the lower brightness settings like with the GBA.
>Mario 64 DS
>Bottom screen map tells you the location of the Stars
that's just dumb
I honestly find the right more intimidating. Something about that weird dusk-ish light constrasts really well with Ganondorf, and gives it a feeling of "It's just you and him, kick his ass."
Maybe it's just me and my fetish for skyboxes.
Okay, that's a cool change
Would Waluigi have been a better choice?
As much as the right one looks better, it was a better concept when it wasn't shoved in your throat.
Obscurity can be better for atmosphere. Original boat was creepy as fuck. New boat was 'neat'.
Better in remake.
Both have their points, but I like 64 more, lighting is the one thing Nintendo always fucks up on now. Animal Crossing is the worst offender. GC had perfect lighting, all the titles since NL are bloom and glaze city.
jesus was a carpenter so they all get a free pass
that's why the underworld has shoddy craftsmanship - no carpenters
this is also hinted at in kakariko
nintendo lore is deeper than you think
The original had this mystical atmosphere.
When you put goggles on the dino its no longer mystical its childish.
and before you go HURR DURR ITS A GAME
the original managed to strike a good balance between having it be a childrens game and having it be mysterious in the unknown worlds you are exploring.
the remake lost all of the wonder that the original had.
>only Dark places can have atmosphere
>Original boat was creepy as fuck
Only because it looked so shitty you didn't know what it was. The ambiguity made it creepy. Were it possible at the time it would have looked more like the one on the right.
>the remake lost all of the wonder that the original had.
are you hearing yourself right now?
The issue is the circlepad acts like a d-pad there still, not an analog stick
I just held my DS like a 64 controller and used the thumb strap it came with on the touch screen, which I imagine they intended due to the signs recommending you use it before the first Bowser fight
Yeah, alright then.
Looks pretty gud
That looks nicer now that everything's actually rendered.
the graphics are the one good thing about sm64 ds
texturing is beautiful and a massive improvement over the original
Even if this is probably bait, there's nostalgia fags in here dumb enough to believe this shit.
Thank fuck I wasn't interested in zelda until recently, I don't have to suffer being blinded by nostalgia
new models, completely new textures. a remaster just runs at a higher framerate / resolution and does not touch the textures or maybe edits them somewhat but not remake from scratch. a remake also revamps the game engine and sometimes even recreates from scratch
basically a remake creates new material and adds / replaces it whereas a remaster just edits preexisting material
360 is pretty underrated on /v/
No one talks about how god-tier the remakes on XBLA was
XBLA in general was great
Fire Red and Leaf Green are pitiful remakes.
>trainer sprites look nothing like the portraits due to laziness, rather than technical limitations
>they just redrew the same tiles from a gameboy game in higher resolution and colour instead of redesigning locations to be on par with Ruby and Sapphire's
>made no effort to reintroduce the original TMs that make contextual sense in the game, instead just using the same ones from Ruby and Sapphire and adding a few one-use move tutors
>gives no opportunity to the player to obtain pokemon from later games until the story is completed, even evolutions or baby forms of pokemon that feature in the first gen
Bowser actually looks menacing and intimidating in the original. Notice how there appears to be a spotlight, mood lighting that isn't there anymore. DS looks like a Mario Party mini-game.
oh, they also lazily localised the games, shipping Leaf Green internationally instead of rebranding it as a remake of Pokemon Blue, the non-japanese counterpart to Pokemon Red
You know what? You're right anon, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I mean they're so memorable you can't even be bothered to call them by their character names, that's the hallmark of a memorable character!
FRLG are the best Pokemon remakes because they actually added sizable content with Sevii Islands
Also, even though I hate it atmopshere-wise, Kanto is one of the better overworlds from a game design standpoint anyways
>tripfag with a nerd name
you're the one blinded by nostalgia
bowser does not look intimidating in the fucking slightest in the original, even when i fucking played it as a 4 year old
explain to me how you can POSSIBLY find that intimidating at all?
they aren't named in the game as far afaik, not unreasonable to recall the models but not know the names
fish is notable for being instant death and appears twice in one course, the lake monster is unique (one of a kind) and is notable for being friendly
I don't consider the sevii islands to be as substantial an addition to HGSS's expanded national dex, follower pokemon, pokeathlon events, customisable safari park and new legendary encounters.
the all start remake was shit as well
>he looks goofier in the remake
are you actually being serious right now? mario 64's bowser walks and looks like a fucking toddler in a turtle costume. are you actually intimidated by this?
>no sense of atmosphere or presence
there never was
i was 4 when i played this
All you're doing is arguing that new Bowser isn't intimidating when your point was that 64 Bowser is.
There's fucking nothing intimidating about 64 Bowser, he looks like pic related.
>lets take foggy and dark level, remove the fog and staple neon everywhere
the rest of the game was okay aside from cutscenes though
I hated the Abe's Oddysee remake.
It completely undermined the atmosphere of the original. It feels less cinematic.
ITT: trolls who know nothing about mood, tone and atmosphere. Seriously how can you even defend this?
>tfw nintendo stopped using shade with black
no one can defend this. it was always shitty looking.
The HGSS Safari Zone was shit because of all the real time waiting bullshit. Good concept, horrific execution.
Otherwise, Sevii Islands gave you a ton of new overworld to explore, and personally, I appreciate that a lot more than touch screen minigames, encountering legendaries I already have from other games, or what is practically a visual gimmick. Being unable to evolve Kanto mons during the maingame is lame, but you've actually got things to do after the credits with more Sevii Islands when you can use them, so it works out in the end.
This, so much. SMB3 had a visual style that worked on the NES. It's probably even the most visually appealing spritebased Mario game. The All-stars remake looks hella boring even next to SMW.
I agree with OP that SM64DS was trash, but not due to visual change which had a minor effect (and generally was an improvement), but because the controls always suck, even when you learn to deal with them. Intuitive an fluid analog control is a must to get maximum enjoyment from SM64.
The n64 version looking deformed actually worked better with how lumbering he was; look at how much articulation bowser has on the left has. It doesn't make sense with his moveset.
>One day later this thread appears
>Pic is VitaTV
>Then the usual trashtalk of said device commences
I'll see you on that thread.
>unironically having this has a tripname
>there are now people on /v/ who think it's okay to name themselves something autistic like "LegendLucario"
>Level geometry doesn't match up with the original and you can walk right through walls and objects
>Forerunner architect has a billion highlights on everything
>Marine armor is copy and pasted straight from Reach
>Lip syncing doesn't match with the dialogue
>Soundtrack is shit compared to the original
It was a half-assed remake and it shows. The only good thing about it was the revamped weapon sounds.
they pretty much just changed the eyes and made the model smoother
>that part in nsmb 1 where the giant one chases you
What do you get out of blatantly lying on the internet? It's the first time you face 'Ganon' so it needs to be dark and moody and intimidating. Imagine if this was a movie and somebody decided to take the pivotal scene Fellowship when they are escaping the mines of Moria "Fly you fools!" but instead of this dreary moodily lit staircase of hell someone had the brilliant idea of installing fluorescent lights everywhere. And of course idiots like you would still be defending it.
Why do you think the Souls series has been so successful?
Is this the only remake that actually improved the original?
>ALL DAT CONTENT
This game was one of the biggest fuck ups of handheld history
I see you typing words but you wearing that tripcode translates everything you say into "I'm a colossal faggot, please rape my face"
Pic related, it's you
Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes
Nothing wrong graphically. Voice actors dropped the stupid fake accents. The cutscenes are sillier, which can be a plus depending on mood and how seriously you take Kojima (don't take Kojima seriously, please). I consider all of this shit good.
Still, Twin Snakes is trash because it gives you the mechanics of MGS2 (which are great in MGS2) but doesn't adequately change MGS1 to account for this. The result is completely broken and stupidly easy.
>did you even TOUCH him in 64DS?
>Eyes staring into distance, not looking towards player, almost like not paying attention
>Mouth too wide, like fish lips, make the proportions of her face feel a bit too strange
>Bright, cheerful atmosphere that feels very off
>Huge head that looks weird and doll-like due to the rest of the body being made skinnier
>Camera angle is pointing more downwards and left, making Saria seem almost feeble in the context of the frame, dwarfed by the large black door behind her
>What is the lighting here?
>Saria staring directly at the player, confrontingly, the emotion suddenly uncomfortable by the fact of her staring straight at the player to get emotion
>Mouth is small, almost looking clamped shut
>Bridge at midday with the light peeking out overhead, obscured by the trees, lends an almost gloomy mood and heavy shadows
>Saria seems proportionate, if child-like, instead of outright inhuman
>Camera angle is flat and neutral, establishing Saria as an equal, with no large black mass behind her to distract from Saria
>Lighting is obviously from above, dark, but the light is actually from a bit behind Saria, as if the player is moving away where she can no longer see them
I loved OOT3DS, but damn.
>not mastering the thumb-nub and blazing through the game
>not having the ugly fuck red brick NDS
>can't refute my point
Not to defend gen 3, but they kept the same TM's because you could still trade tm's back then. The inability to get Crobat before the national dex is horseshit, though
The best thing the games did was add an entirely new area with the Sevii Islands. It was like half a region added in
And? You can at least tell the fucker tried. It at least had soul and passion.
They put pretty much no effort into REmake and were trying to bait the Nostalgiafags who were put off by RE4.
This is actually one of the few good changes.
>GUYS I NEED ATTENTION IF EVERYONE DOESN'T KNOW WHO I AM THEN I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET ALL THE ATTENTION I WANT
Here's your attention you fucking loser.
>they increased level boundaries in the newer ones
>walls are now much further back
>mfw they didn't even create new collision, everything is now just an invisible wall
>mfw it runs at 40fps most of the time on the fucking Xbone
What a shit remake.
Nice fan fiction, tard.
I really don't like Boss Bass.
The idea of being eaten by some animal really pisses me off. That everything leading up to that moment in your life amounted to nothing, that you're just daily nourishment for another creature. The fact Boss Bass swallows you alive makes it even worse, it's a dishonorable way to die.
>tripfagging when it's totally unnecessary
>tripfagging with a name as autistic as that
Holy shit it's not even old, it was posted just over a year ago, there's no excuses.
This is extremely embarrassing.
>there are fags in the world who couldn't get every star in Rainbow Ride with Wario
>on the original hardware
>without the touch screen
Well, he's about to learn what happens to people that reveal their identities on 4chan... the hard way...
Sure thing, LegendLucario !4VxqlzIgzw!
We'll all take special care to pay attention to you!
nice fanfic, snowflake.
>FUCK TRIPFAG ONLY WANTS ATTENTION
>Proceed to give him tons of attention
>it's a coincidence
>implying even that doesn't tell you something about your autistic choice of terrible name
>derailing a thread to dedicate it to a tripfag
THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO
He's right though. When you want to make a character appear big and intimidating, you set the camera low. When you want to make them look small, then you set the camera high. The screenshot here, shows that the remake has a higher vantage point, which diminishes the effect of Bowser's scale.
not really. the smash 64 castle looks almost exactly like the castle in OoT. the remake just retains the look of the original castle.
Here's my artist rendition of the remake of lucario
>with an addition of goggles, possibly to prevent children from being frightened by the character since his original appearances scared some children
Hey didn't scare me when I was a child, but I was sure when I first saw him that he was hostile
No, you can have a happy, charming mood like Hyrule Field during the daytime or Castle Town, but in the context of these dark and intimidating boss fights why throw lights around needlessly and ruin it? That's what I don't understand.
Being exaggeratedly sarcastic doesn't change the fact.
I haven't played the remake. I'm only commenting on the screenshot. What does my experience have to do with the facts?
>this fucking thread.
I am become legend lucario. Sucker of cocks, derailleur of threads, creator of shitty fanfiction
>(camera angle) is much blander in the remake
Mario 64 overall had pretty shitty camera angles throughout the game, and was a common complaint when it was first released. I never played the remake, but I doubt the camera got any worse than it already was. Even if it is more "bland", the original wasn't good to begin with.
>>they just redrew the same tiles from a gameboy game in higher resolution and colour instead of redesigning locations to be on par with Ruby and Sapphire's
...what? the tiles are the same size and the resolution is the same, or at least roughly so.
You think that's bad?
You don't know the meaning of bad
Stop with this stupid theory that has no real credibility.
It's Otacon's perspective on what went down in Shadow Moses. The crazy shit Snake pulls off is from him viewing him as a hero.
>Nothing wrong graphically.
Yes there is. The game removed the gritty look of the original texures and replaced it with clean, bland, boring as fuck textures. The voice acting is also far worse.
>why throw lights around needlessly and ruin it?
To create a better mood and raise the visibility so the intimidation factor of the new model isn't wasted.
The N64 couldn't create that mood so they opted for a different one and when all is said and done the darker lighting on everything just made it dull. Of course it was used to hide the quality of the cutscenes too.
>"It's coincidence you dumbass."
>looks at deviant art posts
>"I know I'm not as active as I would like to be in creating pieces of literature and I sincerely apologize for that. I'm not gonna give you all a list of excuses..."
>grammar and punctuation
>looks at 4chan posts
>"What do you get out of blatantly lying on the internet? It's the first time you face 'Ganon' so it needs to be dark and moody and intimidating. Imagine if this was..."
>grammar and punctuation
gee what a coincidence!
I had to look this up because it didn't seem real. What in the actual fuck did they do? It literally looks like fucking shit now. The remake was beautiful and then the third one is just so fucking disgusting.
Love how this meme spouting fuck didn't mention the improved framerate, camera controls, changes to the mechanics or the Bomber's Notebook.
Majora's Mask 3D was more of an update to the original. Especially when you look at the changes.
In the end, MM3D is superior to the original, and that's all it needed to be.
STOP REPLYING TO TRIPFAGGOTS
All BTB maps are just forged remakes of previous maps in the series, meaning they lack textures and look like they're ripped out of CE.
Between that and the month long delay in releasing BTB, I believe it was a calculated effort to kill off the game mode in order to get more people to play warzone and generate more money through microtransactions, though I don't have a single fact to back that up.
Oh. Yea, I guess I missed that. Maybe because he was stating a fact. It didn't sound like a joke. I thought he took to the challenge to see what one could possibly complain about. And he actually did it. He noted the camera angle. Which I didn't even notice initially. I was impressed.
It's those nuances that remakes often miss.
Say the one who's so autist he write fanfiction. And bad one at that.
I love pokemon too. But I don t dream of sucking a pokemon dick.
Played 2, 3 and Reach, good games. But wtf happened between aniversary and 5?
>not an actual effort.
You're more correct than you know. 343 brought in outsiders to make the BTB maps for them (in spite of the fact that forge was ostensibly not ready for release until a month ago). So not only was BTB late, they couldn't even be assed to make actual new maps.
Anyone with a brain can agree the Zelda remakes are better and recognize the change of tones is due to the hardware of the DS, dark tones don't work well with the 3D function and also is a fucking handheld.
We would not be arguing about this if said remakes came out on a console but Nintendo can't leave their only source of money.
I personally don't like the look of any of the anniversary edition remakes.
They look more like they took things from the later games and put back into the earlier games.
Basically copy-pasting content from the newer games into the older ones.
I also don't like most of the face redesigns, ESPECIALLY JOHNSON!
He went from cool black guy from predator to half-Mexican half-Filipino.
>WERE SHARING /V/ WITH THESE "PEOPLE"
I didn't like the new Mudokon Pops image because it doesn't make the fact that they're building their products off of mudokon meat clear enough.
The original in pic related is much more powerful and clearer me thinks.
Nah the one on the right has to be Roblox or some shit
Personally i prefer the darker OOT than the 3DS one.
The atmosphere and world in OOT in general felt a little dark to me. While you are a kid the world seems a bit bright and happy but the darkness helps as Ganon's reign draws closer.
Even more so after Ganon takes over.
It has a nostalgic end time feel.
OoT 3D is superior in pretty much very regard but the atmosphere in a lot of cutscenes and boss fights.
SM64DS had potential but those controls are dogshit now. Playing it on a 3DS help a little but it doesn't really do much to change my stance on it. The minigames were fun as fuck
come on man, just get rid of the fucking trip and stop shitting up the thread
>internationally instead of rebranding it as a remake of Pokemon Blue
Except Red/Green were the original games, dumbass. There was no reason to do that at all. What you should complain about is the localization team not changing Blue to Green, since he, Red and Blue are all present in the games. They did it again in HGSS.
so the whole daytime the game is set during sunset, even though there is a day/night cycle
you honestly can't be saying the whole remake doesn't look like it's been played with F.lux installed
HERE YOU GO FAGGOT HERE IT IS THROUGH PAINT.NET'S AUTOLEVEL
WHAT DO YOU THINK PAINT.NET DETECTED AND LEVELED? THAT IT'S WAY TOO YELLOW
IT'S NOT PERFECT BECAUSE NOW THERE'S A BLUE CAST OVER DARKER COLORS DUE TO BEING A CHEAP FILTER BUT THE POINT IS THERE THAT THIS LOOKS MORE NATURAL
If they wanted to kill BTB, they killed the game for me. I even played Halo 4 BTB every weekend for the last two years until Halo 5 came out. Kept playing, waiting for BTB. When it finally released, I pretty much dropped Halo altogether.
Wow, I thought this guy was your average meme spouting e-celeb, since he gets posted quite a lot around here, but that review is really sound and spot on. Gonna watch some more, but I think he gained himself another subscriber.
If shit like this doesn't affect you in the least, you have no aesthetic sense.
I mean sure, that scene isn't as effective if you see all of Ganon right away rather than a silhouette, but I'm not gonna sell the game and complain about that particular moment among other things every chance I get for the rest of my life. It's a fine remake.
Helps that I've been playing video games for over 30 years and have grown accustomed to all manner of different controls over the years. Faggots born in 2005 only ever held a dualshock SNES-ripoff or microshit's patented "JUST my D-pad up" and can't get past the first level in Skyward Sword or Kid Icarus because a game actually tried to do something different for once and moved the trigger button that makes the guns go boom
>Buying a 50 dollar remake for OoT or MM when you can emulate them on toasters for free
Somebody please tell me why anybody would do this? I can't imagine having to go through an entire adventure game scrunched over a tiny fucking screen.
Let's take all that stuff you might have liked about the orignal and THROW IT OUT.
It's in the fucking garbage now, you don't need to worry your silly little head about it, look, there's mini-games and constant talking from the sidekick that didn't need to exist! Isn't it great?
>Changing the face of one of the main characters
Doesn't work handheld either because both games rely on emotion and atmosphere, playing shit like that in public is just murder.
that shit was awful and the worst part about the "touch screen analog" is that the center of motion was not static as it reset the center every time it was lifted off the screen. and it was smaller than the screen, and the center would drag towards that corner when it was moved outside of the bubble
so it'd get to the point where say the player would try to move northwesterly, where the center would reset to the top left part of the screen, making it impossible to move any farther in that direction without dragging the thumb back to the center then moving in that direction
That was done on purpose to replicate the true N64 stick experience. Just be glad they never remade Mario Party.
>People still defend the N64 controller to this day
Shitty stick, only one stick, Awkward as fuck to hold no matter how you held it. Try playing Smash64 with a GC controller, and see how much better you become just from that alone.
Yeah the 1st party games for the 3DS have been absolute shit. Terrible remakes, mediocre Zelda, below average Mario and no Metroid. Thankfully the other games have been so good that they basically reformed my love for vidya.
Speaking of which, I played SMB64 DS in it's entirety while sick with Giardia. I have posted about this before, but I will tell the story again. My family and I had gone on vacation, and we swam in the hotel pool. Later that day they were draining the water from the pool and cleaning it, we asked why, they told us a little kid had shit in it and long story short I caught Giardia. My shit was orange for like a month, and I was just shitting hot orange shits for like a month straight. I wasn't even supposed to eat. It was just bad shits and gatorade for a fucking month of my life. It was the most sick I have ever been, and while I was very thankful to have a long DS game to get me through it, It was not a very good game in my opinion. I to this day have never played the original 64 version, and I have heard it is better.
Haven't even owned a Nintendo product since the N64, but this is silly. The remakes fit much better with the mario universe.
Also you have to realize both came from very different times. Back then videogames was also for adults.
You bait but inadvertently make a good point. Both SM64 and OOT were trying to push 3D gaming and did strive for some manner of realism, while the remakes are on a shitty handheld and look bad by comparison and opt out for a cartoon artstyle.
Depends on the level. In some places it's the exact same thing.
This thread is a reminder that improvement isn't always a good thing.
>WAAAAAAH IT'S JUST A SPRITE it can't be atmospheric
No neo nintendoers who consume without criticizing and eat up every sponsored post by nintendo TM is worse.
Nah. But the original boat matches the style of the shadow temple better. The boat just sticks out in the remake and makes you wonder why everything else looked so barren and desolate.
HOW CAN ONE BE SO PATHETIC
I thought it sounded like Deviantart trash.
It's the N64 era of nostalgia that's particularly bad.
Early 3D leaving some stuff to the imagination and being unintentionally creepy in some areas because the tech wasn't quite there yet is understandable, but assuming that it was the intended atmosphere of those games is ridiculous.
I can understand the complaints about OoT to an extent, even though its lighting changes were more due to ghosting on the 3DS than an intentional decision to make the game more cutesy, but the idea that Mario 64 DS updating some of the shittier models to actually match its concept art and character designs from the other dozen Mario platformers being a sign of Nintendo removing the mystique of the game is stupid.
Remaster=upscaled visuals, framerate, etc. Still same game
Remake=Usually a re-work of the game, sometimes things are changed.
I still don't see why Final Fantasy fans are buttmad over the FF7 remake.
Did they expect Square Enix to actually take time to remake the game? They're too busy with FF XV and are just doing it to satisfy the fans who have been bitching for the past 14 years.
Never played Twinsnakes but judging from the image it looks like enemy A.I is adjusted to suit the new stuff you can do from 2.
I don't honestly know how you can change MGS1 on Gamecube to be more balanced. I lack the imagination to change the Ocelot fight to fit the first person mode you can do.
If you are a neo nintendoer you are a pleb.
Golden era nintendo is vastly superior to such garbage.
And no thanks if I want to play a good Icarus game I will play the one on nes
I am in a boyband the protagonist.
The islands added a lot more story in general. HGSS seemed to put an emphasis on new features, whereas FRLG didn't really do that; it just extended the game and made it look pretty.
Other boards try to ignore tripfags and then they get tons of tripfags in response. /v/ has like two regular tripfags and everyone else gets BTFO. It's best to dedicate a thread to shitposting on a tripfag so hard that they fuck off than have them creep into more threads.
The only 2 good kinds of tripfag i've encountered so far were the ones selling shit on /k/ like Crimson Caravan Merchant and those playing RISK on /int/ and /pol/
More like "holy shit was this 10 year old game always so fucking scary"
>tripfag ends up being a degenerate furry
>I can say go back to deviantart with actual purpose now
Killyourself and stop making /v/ worse with your usernames
Gotta love the piss filter and all that extra content they added!
It's totally worth the full price of a completely new Zelda!
So everything he said was pretty on point, except the early examination of the nighttime scene with bloom. Bloom is indeed over used there, but ti's clear that the lighting was not done realistically in order to give the area a silhouetted look, as is pretty popular these days in 2d platformers (new DKC games use it for some levels to amazing effect, some of the new Rayman games, and stuff like Limbo). Now, that STILL goes against the realistic look they SHOULD have been going for, but it wasn't laziness, since it looks pretty nice, it was simply total disregard for the source material.
Mixed feelings toward the new Muramasa translation.
Overall it's better for sure but every so often it's just so full of words I can't help feel as though the less verbose original was more effective and suits the mood more.
I'm with this guy, actually. The enemy and human designs were much better in 2033.
The mutants were designed to appear gangly and rattish. They were originally meant to conjure images of rodents and pests, despite the fact that many could still kill you very easily. The mutant designs in LL are standard Hollywood mutant draw-ups.
The same goes for the other inhabitants of the metro. In 2033, they looked like bulky and prepared, but realistic soldiers. In the sequel they all turn into Call of Duty mooks.
