I love how rekt everything looks
>After looking throgh a guide, because fuck DaS2's nonexistent level design, I guess I'll go down now.
Das2 has some pretty lacking levels but don't be a retard. You can either go down into the huge obvious pit or go up the path in the woods and unfreeze the statue. Two super obvious paths.
Save your complains in level design for Brightstone.
They're not equippable, they're special for each weapon.
Also not all of them are attack moves.
Mace weapon art gives you a poise body buff.
Axe weapon art is a
dragonshout that pushes away enemies like Force and gives you a short-lasting 20% damage buff.
This fucker was pretty based in the network test.
On the graphics department, the demo really wasnt that impressive. Also, the same exact sounds from the first game.
You cant downgrade it, unless you change the engine back to the one of the first game.
Everything we get will be better.
>There are people on /v/ right now, in this very thread, that don't believe Dark Souls 3 will save gaming
Forgive them Miyazaki, they know not what they do.
The original had much deeper light system, but even SotFS dont have (they just put a very dark unnatural filter that fades in when you enter some specifc places, and fades out when you leave)
With some work you can still make it look better.
Here, from yesterday reshade / ENB / sweetFX thread.
Another thing is: Unlike DaS2, they havent promissed anything big with lighting, so dont be surprised at basic effects.
Oh, God no. I'm getting flashbacks. First month of 2014. Many new people playing Dark Souls 1 after hype around 2. Threads on /v/ increase. A promising Beta has everyone hyped a few months before. Main Menu theme shows up on youtube. Everyone loves it.
I used that specific configuration, didnt get banned or anything like that. I think the original used to have Vac, but due conflicts, they removed it (which also result in some cheat engine cheaters)
It doesnt have Reshade so i am not sure about if it is allowed, but i dont think it would do anything.
Dont have SotFS, so i dont know how its online anti cheater works.
All i know is that it looks better than SOTFS
I said SOTFS bans you, not vanilla das2.
Anyway, in SOTFS they basicly softban you if they detect you are using a program that injects into the game (which is what things like reshade and enb do).
What it means is that it just puts you into a pool where you can only play online with other people that got softbanned.
The best music in these games is always the downplayed sort of shit that you hear in places like Majula.
That specific mod is strictly for vanilla DaS2, as ENB doenst work on dx11
I think you can achieve somewhat similar with reshade (but good look, you would have to do it from the ground up), but anon claimed it triggers the anti cheater. im not sure about it.
I absolutely love that this is going full apocalypse mode. It's the only way they could justify making a third one from a story standpoint but I wasn't so sure they'd actually do it.
It will probably be phased like Bloodborne's transition into full nightmare shit.
Lothric's gonna fucking fall apart.
>It will probably be phased like Bloodborne's transition into full nightmare shit.
You're probably right from the looks of it but I hope it does something to differentiate itself.
Only time will tell.
We sure are getting some quality boss battles though, judging from the trailer this guy looks surprisingly fun for a "huge fat guy in armour".
>fear the suns temptations
>solaire was obsessed with the sun
>eventually drove him mad
I know you can prevent this and it was a maggot thing but I want to believe.
Sooo pumped for Das3. I'm going to be a busy gamer juggling das3, Dragon's Dogma, Tomb Raider, and Resident Evil 0.
>yes I have them all paid for and pre-loaded (where available)
>I have paid vacation days in reserve just for game releases I'm looking forward to.Im using them to stay home in my boxers and drink while playing
Going to be maximum comfy
They might go full Nier/Drakengard and try to tie both of the universes together in one way or the other.
>tfw preloaded dragons dogma
>game is out
>oh shit gotta unpack the game first
>2 hours later
>it's still unpacking
>HDD is very slow for the whole duration
Why the fuck do I keep preloading steam games when I know that downloading them is quicker than preloading anyway...
>They might go full Nier/Drakengard and try to tie both of the universes together in one way or the other.
Nope. Will never happen, at least not in any official capacity. They might leave small hints that they could be connected but it can't be anything big. It has been that way since Demons Souls.
Bloodborne takes place in Carim when the flame has been extinguished
DSIII takes place in Drangleic when the flame is about to be consumed and humanity is threatened by chaos.
There is a possibility that Solaire IS in fact the firstborn and the final boss of DSIII. Canonically he is a Lord of Cinder, maybe the first one after Gwyn.
It makes sense that Solaire would like to ammend his past errors and defend his father's heritage.
So we might see Solaire again, maybe not by that name
>being excited for Dark Souls 2-2.0
>being excited for a game made by the Q team
>being excited for LITERALLY the WORST game in the CURRENT YEAR of 2016
I shiggery diggery hope you don't dogery doo this.
>people will reply to this shit tier bait
>he will actually reply saying it's not bait
Well it's probable that FROM will in fact make Solaire the firstborn, even though it was purposefully left vague in DSI due to time constraints.
If you complete all the npc quests and all the story, even if you (the player) become a dark lord by not linking the flame, Solaire is implied to kindle it regardless. That would make him a Lord of Cinder according to the recent info we got from DS3
>If you complete all the npc quests and all the story, even if you (the player) become a dark lord by not linking the flame, Solaire is implied to kindle it regardless. That would make him a Lord of Cinder according to the recent info we got from DS3
That's assuming you help him. Pretty sure by default the game wants him to become insane by the sunlight maggot.
post yfw you realize dark souls is just a bunch of QTE
>Yuka Kitamura, the girl behind Sir Alonne's theme.
Sir Alonne, Ebrietas and Lady Maria?
What else did she do in Bloodborne? I mean the three tracks above are all stellar but I'd like to hear a bit of bulk on top of the quality.
I'm not a Souls detractor and I love the games but you're really naive if you don't think this is anything but a marketing ploy after fan outcry that he was barely part of 2 development.
They're emphasizing that he's director now to win browny points with skeptical fans.
I work long weeks. And I just finished my AA degree so no class, but when I start my BA I have 3-4 classes to huggle into my 6 0 hour work week. When time is open for me to play games, I make a mini holiday out of it.
>dat warehouse worker life
As far as the games themselves, learn to detach a bit. Be the normie. Become the normie temporarily and enjoy all the games the pique your interest even a little.
I may work a lot but I make sure my PC is up to par and loads as fast as possible. Have 3 ssds dedicated just to game installs. I feel for you though anon. Im at work right now and will be for the next 12 hours. Then I have a 3 day weekend to go crazy. Probably should have started the unpacking before I left today. oh well
Well I take that the "canon" storylines are the ones that happen the furthest into the game.
So for example Siegmeyer can die heroically "defending" you from the Chaos Eaters but I consider the canon ending to be the one that takes place at Ash Lake.
In the same way, I take that Solaire made it to the kiln, left his summon sign there to help you out, and won against Gwyn and kindled the flame
It will be extremely neat if the final boss of DS3 is called "The Firstborn"
the fucking hacks
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
Has anyone notices how the word "bait" has just straight up replaced the world "troll"? Like, there is absolutely no difference in the way they are used anymore.
Why? Just so that we aren't using a word that caught on in the mainstream? Seems kind of dumb, especially since the word "troll" is so old at this point.
Because everyone is a troll now, so troll is a superfluous term. Now we differentiate posts by their bait-status instead.
There's only one thing that makes me concerned over Souls 3, and that's the fact that Cinematics, Beta, and Screenshots so far, have all shown the game to be castles, castles, and more castles.
I'm really hoping there will be some variety to environments.
I want my lava, forest, mountain/cave, lake, etc... areas.
I'd also say snow but that's probably too much to hope for.
Yeah, nah. Unless they truly make a lava area this time that isn't the worst area in the game.
The rest will most definitely be in, if you've seen the game map there is a ton of land in-between the main structures that you most certainly will be traveling through.
There will be at least one swamp area rest assured.
Read the rest of my post.
I was being somewhat cheeky but also truthful. I genuinely think the lava areas have been the consistently worse areas in the souls series and if they make it better I'll be okay with it.
>No character creation video
Hopefully it's BB copy paste
He wasn't involved at all with 2 and that's one of the problems.
He already assured us that there is interconnected level design and no SM. That's called GOOD MARKETING, nothing wrong with saying stuff like that.
There actually is a difference.
Back when "trolling" was a thing people used to be a lot more subtle about it. As much as I'm going to sound like a complete faggot there was a methodology around it. It's devolved into stock responses that have literally zero thought put into them just to get easy replies, aka throwing a plain hook in the water hoping to get easy bites instead of using a proper lure.
I don't know what meaning the glowing swords will have in the final game, and I'm pretty sure these are different but similar areas, on the account of one having arches and the other one just pillar in the architecture, and both screenshots emerging at the same time.
But that being said, the blob thing clearly has the legs of the knight on the left, and we've already seen enemies grow into blob.
Dancer of the frigid Valley was a light example of the mechanic, but what if every boss mutates and changes depending on how much of their health you strip.
Come on, I know you faggots wanna reference berserk.
>weapon will break more easily for variety in builds
>in co op, bosses will have allies to help in battle to counter the squad
>coop there will be more enemies
>consumables will matter this time and need to be used accordingly to the areas
>boss rush mode will be in rewarding players who win each tier a prize
>I don't know what meaning the glowing swords will have in the final game, and I'm pretty sure these are different but similar areas, on the account of one having arches and the other one just pillar in the architecture, and both screenshots emerging at the same time.
Guarantee they're going to just signify player deaths, and there's just a ton of them in the screenshots for visual effect.
they look like shit during character creation but in game they look completely different
>Miyazaki is the president of Fromsoft so what he says, goes.
Yeah people always bring this up as an argument to say it will be. You don't get it, once they make a few games that don't sell well (or perhaps do, it doesn't matter) he'll eventually go back to their main cash cow and announce another one.
It's a guaranteed way to make people excited and to increase sales when its thought that the series is done only to announce a new one. Not to mention it's just a simple fact that it's their main source of cash and he will never be rid of it until it stops selling. This is simple business.
To simplify it for you he's outright lying.
Yeah, because his working relationship with Namco has just been peachy.
I'm sure there will be a DaS4 eventually but they're putting the series to rest for a while. What we'll get will be spinoff stuff like Bloodborne.
>tfw suck at character creation so just plagiarize other people's characters
>But that being said, the blob thing clearly has the legs of the knight on the left, and we've already seen enemies grow into blob.
Let me guess. This is a NG+ change on a regular enemy.
This. If you want to practice just take a good looking template and fuck around with it and check at the start. Besides the shitty hair BB has a good character creator.
I really hope there's a proper tutorial boss that nets you good early stuff if you defeat it.
>Guarantee they're going to just signify player deaths
You can guarantee it, but you're wrong. Blood stains have signified player death since Demon's, We've also had a network stress test, and blood stains are still the same.
DS II looked solid before its release as well, not getting memed on by fromsoft again.
You think I'm dumb enough not to recognize blood stains signifiy player death? You also forgot that there have always been unique things that signify player deaths in souls games like petrified statues. The phantom swords could be unique to bosses.
>It will probably be phased like Bloodborne's transition into full nightmare shit.
I really hope so. I just got Bloodborne and it starts so different from where it ends, it's crazy. You start as a hunter slaying beasts in Yharnam and I was so intrigued by these 'Hunters' that I didn't know anything about and how the people in Yharnam reacted to me. I was thinking I'd learn so much about theworl through NPCs and etc. But then you cause the birth of an anti-christ and get sucked into nightmares and fight alien things and everyone dies, like what the fuck. Shit was insane., on my third playthrough right now and I plan on awakening from this horrid dream.
What build should I roll in both Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2? (Doing a playthru of both before the release of ds3)
It's all Two Steps From Hell again. I'm not saying it's bad, but I've just heard this same track thousands of times before already.
I've fantasized I could have a Souls game with a soundtrack similar to Thief series (originals).
>based on literally nothing except my own opinion
the entire point of this game is to wrap up the series and hopefully fix any of the lore shitting on that ds2 did. fighting the chosen undead or lord of cinder solaire would be a great idea to wrap the entire series both up and together
show me track similar to the one in the OP
>based on literally nothing except my own opinion
Oh, and you know, the established tone and lore of the series.
There is absolutely no fucking reason Solaire or the Chosen Undead should still be alive especially with one of the main theme being cycles. Neck yourself with your fan-fiction tier bullshit.
>So we might see Solaire again, maybe not by that name
>Solaire, Artorias-style broken, in a bossfight, similar to DS2 Old Dragonslayer.
>you have no option but to kill him
Calling it now.
>heir of cinder destroyed
>you go throughout the entire game killing heirs of the first flame
>in the first game the chosen undead or possibly solaire may have reignited the first flame
>gwyn survived thousands of years AFTER rekindling the first flame, and we dont know how long he lived before that
>no reason solaire or the chosen undead should still be alive
>There is absolutely no fucking reason Solaire or the Chosen Undead should still be alive
Except that the fact that the confirmed plot of the game is the Lord of Cinders coming back ?
If I have to kill Solaire I'm going to be very sad
Or it could be several new characters and one being either the CU or Solaire to get the DaS1 fags to suck the game's dick. Most likely case is they're all new characters but one will have a reference in it's weapon/soul/armour to CU/Solaire.
I thought it was a title given to whoever rekindled the first flame when it was dying ? Which include Gwyn, the Giant from the trailer, and depending on your choices from the previous games, the Chosen Undead, Solaire, and the Bearer of the Curse.
I swear to god if they include something like Soul memory again that completely destroys any sort of PVP I will fly to Japan and assfuck Miyazaki with a cactus.
I had a problem with the way they handled the "main story" in DaS2, but the side stories are all well done.
Stuff like Alonne and the Iron Kin gand all that.
It just seems that the DaS1 references were there because at some point maybe there was gonna be some time travel or some shit.
>guy so macho he out-seduced a shard of Manus
Literally Chad Blizzardcock
You're right about DaS2 having a bunch of hamfisted DaS1 references that don't make sense but my point is that the fragments of manus isn't one of them. I think it's the one element from DaS1 that thematically fits and should be in the game.
>mfw trying to do his boss fight without freeing the other knights first
Why are we not undead in this game?
What's the deal with embers?
Will we get some answer regarding stuff like Ariamis, Priscilla, the Giants, Aldia, Manus, Gwyn's first born and shit like that?
I can't be the only one that dislikes the charred effect
Not that it matters since thematically the game will be shit like DaS 2, the same bullshit everyone is a meter taller than you for no reason and you're a midget in a land of giants.
I was playing the sunken king DLC earlier and found this armor set.
Looks a lot like the DS3 trailer armor.
I just got all 3 crowns and talked to vendrick. What was all that about? I got a weird cutscene and then left?
>I can't be the only one that dislikes the charred effect
I think it looks pretty cool. A lot less obvious than hollowing, even if you dislike it.
>a midget in a land of giants.
What makes you think that?
Maybe because we have overcome undeath.
Embers are the new humanity. Either you are "off" or "on", meaning you light up on fire / burn.
It's probable that we get a lot of subtle hints that expand or outright answer mysteries of DaS. Dont expect direct references though.
The only clues we have is that the Dancer of the Frigid Valley shares a lot of similarities with Ciaran (and kinda looks like Artorias) and that Artorias's Greatsword is in the altar of the chapel where you fight her.
basically the previous protagonists of the dark souls series were selfish assholes and did nothing to try and end the cycle
so now in ds3 we're going to be ending the cycle for good
Everyone is inexplicably taller than you, even normal enemies.
In the DaS3 stress test there is not a single normal sized enemy, even the human undeads are giants compared to you.
>they seem to be steering away from that if BB is any indication.
L I T E R A L L Y every boss in the game is far bigger than you, and the two that aren't FAR bigger are still bigger.
>and to me it is not canon
Drangleic Shield, Benharts Parma, Sacred Oath, Soul Greatsword - all were in the network test. And the whole nature of Lords of Cinder confirms DaS2's concept of cyclic nature of the Souls universe.
>Arguing probability in an alternate reality where magic is real and laws of physics are different.
Why do these pseudo-intellectual faggots always try to shove science into fiction discussion.
It wasn't in the network test, but using embers (the new humanity) gives you a big health boost. Without being embered you have less health so when you die and loes your ember you have less health, but it doesn't keep going down the more you die.
Also what is the ring of binding
In the Age of Ancients the world was unformed, shrouded by fog. A land of gray crags, Archtrees and Everlasting Dragons. But then there was Fire and with fire came disparity. Heat and cold, life and death, and of course, light and dark. Then from the dark, They came, and found the Souls of Lords within the flame. Nito, the First of the Dead, The Witch of Izalith and her Daughters of Chaos, Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight, and his faithful knights. And the Furtive Pygmy, so easily forgotten.
With the strength of Lords, they challenged the Dragons. Gwyn's mighty bolts peeled apart their stone scales. The Witches weaved great firestorms. Nito unleashed a miasma of death and disease. And Seath the Scaleless betrayed his own, and the Dragons were no more.
Thus began the Age of Fire. But soon the flames will fade and only Dark will remain. Even now there are only embers, and man sees not light, but only endless nights. And amongst the living are seen, carriers of the accursed Darksign.
Yes, indeed. The Darksign brands the Undead. And in this land, the Undead are corralled and led to the north, where they are locked away, to await the end of the world... This is your fate.
Only, in the ancient legends it is stated, that one day an undead shall be chosen to leave the undead asylum, in pilgrimage, to the land of ancient lords, Lordran.
There are literally countless undead, and if you don't do it, you simply weren't the one.
Someone who believed in the prophecy. Remember you're not the first Chosen Undead to try you're just the first one to get it right. And Frampt is going around telling people that Linking the Fire will rid the Curse of Undeath. Something that everyone would like very very much. And even though it's the course of nature, the Age of Dark is a horrifying, exceedingly violent and hopeless state of affairs. So a hollow who's lost all hope of returning to his life could be convinced to do such a thing.
It's an issue for me, it breaks my immersion when my character is for no reason a midget, actually scratch that, when everyone is a giant when everything is human sized, you have literally a human undead that can't fit in the door right next to it
Why? Who the fuck knows, it started with DaS II, even Balder knights were your size in DaS, and the only humanoids bigger than you were the ones connected to the race of Gwyn
>it started with DaS II
No it didn't you meme-loving fucking retard.
All NPC's are your size. All hallowed knights are your size. All dragon knights are your size.
Which was (partially) accounted for since there are two sets of stairs in Anor Londo: one meant for giants and the other meant for pygmies. They didn't see it through since the rooms inside Gwyn's keep seem to be meant for pygmies but it was still a nice touch.
I feel like that's too much, sounds like it should be a boss song. The minimal ones were nice
It is literally impissible without the to block the portals. You end up with 10 normal enemies on you at once, several of them throwing piromancey at you and several of them chasing you with great axes and hammers.
All that happens at the same time the Ivory King is beating on you.
>Forcefully continue the Age of Fire
>You know full well that it's a lie but for a short while you can live in peace
>Allow the Age of Dark to come
>Live in a world of dark where everyone is either dead, hollow, mutated by the Abyss, or an interdimensional axe murderer on the hunt for Humanity
Are you seriously meeming or did you not play the game and don't know?
In lordran time is convoluted and folds in on itself, there are countless timelines converging in this one point, every timeline has a chosen undead, some light the fire, some walk away, but it doesn't matter, both endings are canon, fire WILL fade, if the chosen undead rekindles it, it will only burn for a short time, couple decades, centuries maybe, then it will start fading, if the chosen undead walks away, the fire will only fade sooner, the outcome is the same. games simply play far enough from one another chronologically that fading of the flame has played itself out regardless of the action taken by chosen undead.
The only thing I'll be pissed about is if the serpents don't show up in 3.
They're primordial fucking serpents they are the one thing that seemed like they should have been consistent from the beginning.
I haven't played DAS2 since 2014, never touched it again so I forget it all. It simply does not exist to me and I don't know what is being brought over from 2, so Miyazaki gets all the credit.
>The Age of Dark is the age of man and the age of Bloodborne eventually.
That is not what it is at all.
The age of dark is what the name implies, an age of darkness with no fire left burning.
>Age of dark
>You don't go hollow because the flame has spread, you can use embers to nullify the curse as long as you have ember in you
>There's little fire now
I assume something like that is going on. Everyone gets a little bit of flame in them to become stronger.
Any Souls game is like ten times better than Skyrim but i just can't agree with you there.
If your hear 0:35 you know it's from Skyrim :
It's a pretty iconic theme. >>324043452 is generic as fuck tho. From can( and probably will ) do much better.
Right but the thing is that we see what man does when allowed to act uninhibited. Even before they dug up Manus the fuckers in Oolicile were intentionally driving each other mad trying to unlock Dark Magic. That right there is crazy. The just picked the wrong grave to dig up that led to the unleashing of the Abyss, the awakening of Manus, and everyone's Humanity going batshit insane. Then we get to Oolicile where all Kaathe had to do was dangle the art of Lifedrain in front of their faces and suddenly these guys are hopping dimensions looking for Humanity to steal so they can MANUFACTURE THE FUCKING ABYSS JESUS WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS?!?
These are the best snippets of the Age of Dark we have and all signs point to the Age of Dark being a terrifying and violent place.
yeah I know it fucking sucks that's why I called it luckbased, because if someone were to do it it would take some bullshit with the AI fucking up. You'd be pretty lucky for that to happen
Wait if dark souls 1 was age of fire, dark souls 3 is age of dark.
What was 2?
>End of the world, ash and dying of the sun as themes
Perfect vision to end the series with
That doesn't end the cycle. Dark Souls didn't have the cycle shit at all, it was solely about whether you prolong the current cycle or let it run its course until eventually the next one started.
I take the dark ending as the best, I have a theory that unites all lore.
I think the dark ending is the last (canon) one because it's more difficult to come by in your first playthrough (thus more advanced in the game) and both Kaathe AND Frampt greet you, and you even see there are many serpents.
>ywn have a cute gf made out of darkness lusting after your dick
I really hope it doesn't come around, but I won't hold my breath. Any right minded fan of the franchise feels the same I would gather.
Fixing backstabs was a great improvement over 2 already though.
God that would have been great. Instead of a big trashing monster like the beta version or the literal jumping puzzle. Just a big tanky abomination chucking fire at you and shit would have been great.
Aldia transcended humanity and became immortal, but failed to find a cure to the curse.
That's why you never get his soul, he simply never dies and his whole battle was just him testing whether you're worthy of the title of his younger brother, Vendrick.
Bloodborne doesn't exist in the same universe as Dark Souls or Demon's Souls.
In fact, Demon's Souls doesn't exist in the same universe as Dark Souls either.
Only Dark Souls I, II, and presumably III, take place in the same universe.
This is true. He was even credited as director of SotFS even thought he more than likely did fuck all.
Still optimistic for DS3 but I am also fatigued. Let this be a high note and the last for awhile.
>Some say the skeletal mask of an ancient
Darkwraith is partially fused with the flesh
of its face.
"some say" isn't good enough in a game where NPCs and legends in item descriptions can often be inaccurate.
>when the greatest boon to your journey is a series of bonfires (ie light sources) throughout the world
Praise the sun, faggot.
>tfw DS3's catchphrase will be
"Damn the sun!"
Aldia's 3rd path is you and him chilling as primordial creatures outside of the cycle forever, looking for a way to mass-produce your success.
by choosing to go hang out with Aldia, you are in effect picking the "dark" ending, since by walking away from the Flame it goes out
Not human, sure, but not wildly mutated like in Oolacile. You'd probably fuse with your armor too if you were stuck wearing it submerged in water for centuries, if you could somehow survive that.
That's the whole point you dimwitt, the bonfires are a curse, they're the reason you can't die, they're the reason you're slowly falling apart and going insane while the world rots around you.
Jesus christ, did you not play the fucking games?
They're also the only points in which you can regain your humanity.
The light is the life. Enjoy your oblivion.
>"This exile was chased from his homeland, and haunted by a black sun."
>"Fear the Sun's Temptations, and the Winged Executioner."
>game screenshots feature an enormous bleeding sun with a giant world serpent coiling around it
>mfw all the praisers getting BTFO in DaS3
Wouldn't be surprised if praise le sun gesture is actually locked behind the obligatory evilbad invader covenant.
>They're also the only points in which you can regain your humanity.
Which humanity? The one you're losing because the bonfires keep bringing you back? that humanity?
Yeah, You, my friend just got
>humanity comes from the Dark therefore it can't be bad :^)
Pay more attention, fool. Humanity comes from the Dark, but the Dark (and Humanity) are self-destructive entities. Go read some dlc item descriptions before peddling your darkwraith nonsense
>The serpent Jörmungandr opens its gaping maw, yawning widely in the air, and is met in combat by Thor. Thor, also a son of Odin and described here as protector of the earth, furiously fights the serpent, defeating it, but Thor is only able to take nine steps afterward before collapsing. The god Freyr fights Surtr and loses. After this, people flee their homes, and the sun becomes black while the earth sinks into the sea, the stars vanish, steam rises, and flames touch the heavens.
Threadly reminder the snakes are imperfect dragons that where jelly of their superior brothers and ployed to destroy them.
Threadly reminder they tricked the gods into finding the souls, and they ploy against Gwyn now that he's useless.
Threadly reminder there are many Kaathes and Frampts, you never know who is who and at what time, and they all work together.
Dark ending is literally the good goy ending.
>Kaathe and Frampt are working together
>Frampt lets you link the flame without stopping you
>in direct opposition to Kaathe's plan
"haha I sure showed those filthy humans, didn't I, Kaathe! I ironically pretended to be on their side SO HARD I let them carry out all of their goals!"
Pretty much this
>Okay guys, so I'm going to show you how to cross dimensions. What you're going to do is steal some Humanity, get stronger, and destroy Lord Gwyn to begin the Age of Dark
>What the fuck man? These guys aren't trying to become the Dark Lord they're just killing each other to get more Humanity just because
I dont think so.
You're still a pawn of the snakes.
My theory is that Gwyn linked the fire to humanity, beginning the undead curse, and the snakes wanted to end it (by making you kill him) just so they could get rid of Gwyn.
All endings are beneficial, but I consider the dark ending the most "advanced" one.
Linking the fire was never humanity's goal to begin with, Frampt tricked them into doing it from the start.
Their whole purpose seems to be fucking with everyone for their amusement. They're eternal, who gives a shit if they have to sit through a few hundred more years of fucking with desperate zombies.
Well in Bloodborne if you accept the termination of your contract you come out of it not much worst for wear. You had a bad dream, whatever illness you had was cured, and you go home. Unless you're like Eileen or Djura who stuck around. But if you ascend that's not something anyone planned for. Unless the Moon Presence planned on dying which I doubt. So ascending is pretty much you breaking all the rules and the result being an unknown.
>Although Dark Fog is, in theory, relatively close to humanity, it also happens to be a terrible poison for humans. Perhaps it reflects man's cruelty against his own. -- Dark Fog
>Grant a fleeting will to the Dark of humanity, and volley the result. The will feels envy, or perhaps love, and despite the inevitably trite and tragic ending, the will sees no alternative, and is driven madly toward its target. -- Pursuers
>The Darkwraiths of Kaathe use this orb to
seek humanity and plunge further into dark.
Perhaps they are more human than we? -- Red Eye Orb
>Certain Darkwraiths resist their descent into
dark and preserve along the honorable path.
The Red Soapstone is for them. -- Red Sign Soapstone
These, among others, implicate Humanity and the Dark in Mankind's darker passions. Humanity is self-destructive pleasure, greed, cruelty to one's own kind, obsession, selfishness.
Humans come from the Dark, but at the same time, the Dark is their own worst enemy. Humans are civilized IN SPITE of their inner darkness, not because of it
Every area in DS1 had a different color filter. Not just yellow. There is no reason to think DS3 is going to be different.
Stop talking like you anything about anything and are anything other than a raging, insatiable faggot with AIDS in his anus.
UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS
If Aldia is to be believed
-Humans are supposed to be something else. "United with the Dark." What humans are now is not their optimal state
-When Gwyn linked the fire he permanently hard capped human affinity with the Dark. Man are creatures of the Dark but now they have a constant yearning for the peace that Fire brings. Which prevents them from uniting with the Dark like they're supposed to.
-While the Fire is active men assuming "fleeting forms," implying the men are supposed to be immortal the same way the gods and witches were.
Shanalotte or her nickname the Emerald Herald
all of this is retarded.
Miyazaki confirmed in an interview that Humans are direct descendants of the Furtive Pygmy, and that Humanity are fragments of the Dark Soul. In that same interview, he mentioned that one of his biggest regrets of DaS1 was not making this more explicit in-game
They are inherently connected with the Dark, and you are severely misinterpreting Aldias words.
What is the comfiest DS2 area and why is it Eleum Loyce?
Probably those japs always say it's their last one then come back a year later and they are making another one. See: Hideo Kojima and Hayao Miyazaki.
they probably don't want to make anymore while they are working on it, but once they are off the project hey realize it's all they have so they come back.
how many ring slots did people get in the beta are we back to 2?
Oh man, you don't even know about best girl.
Shame she's stuck in a mediocre game.
There is always strife before civilisation emerges. Just because they appear like mindless psychopaths now does not mean they will remain just that if they achieve their instinctual goal of uniting the Dark Soul, friend.
>1000 darkwraiths have fragments of the Dark Soul
>they all start killing each other
>now there is 1 living Darkwraith with the whole Dark Soul
>he rules over a world exclusively filled with mindless hollows, since he stole all their souls
oh yeah sure civilization
It's very survival horroresque, same with the firelink shrine theme. Max comfy
if they re-add all the fucking ds1 armor again i'm gonna be mad
fuck havels fuck ek i'm tired of seeing it
except the sack you can add that back
>Human's hardcap and men assuming a fleeting form
Once, the Lord of Light banished Dark, and all that stemmed from humanity.
And men assumed a fleeting form.
>Men having a constant yearning for peace
Peace grants men the illusion of life.
Shackled by falsehoods, they yearn for love, unaware of its grand illusion.
Until, the curse touches their flesh.
The united by Dark part I admit I made a mistake. It was Vendrick that gave that line. Still:
One day, fire will fade, and Dark will become a curse.
Men will be free from death, left to wander eternally.
Dark will again be ours, and in our true shape…
We can bury the false legends of yore… Only…
Is this our only choice?
>Literally worst Souls slut.
>he doesn't know
Darkwraiths are just trying to regroup the Dark Soul in it's entirety.
Maybe if Gwyn tried the same instead of handing that shit out to anyone who listened like a bitch we wouldn't be in this undead predicament just quite yet.
Didn't bother finishing DSII: was it ever explained why the world was still around? I thought it pretty much dead in DSI, with you either giving it another cycle of life, or pulling the plug.
We don't know what a complete Dark Souls would do. What we see in the game is the world in a chaotic limbo from having neither proper life nor proper death. Who's to say that the age of Dark would be less prosperous than the Age of Fire? Would of course be prosperous in a different way but we have no idea how.
