Is there a worse community than Five Nights at Freddy's fans?
Sonic, it will always be Sonic
Nothing tops the misadventures of a literally autistic OC author, Tails Gets Trolled (which is not a bad thing, it's actually a really good comic), and whatever that baby scat comic is called.
It's less that, and more of the roving bands of bandwagoners and tumblrites that just latch onto this shit for attention without watching or playing X.
I remember when FiM was infested with hordes of bandwagoning tards that threw fits at anything. For the most part they've moved onto SU and Undertale. Feel sorry for the actual fans that have to put up with retards willing to harass artists to the point of suicide attempts because they didn't draw a character "right".
>worst community thread
>answer isn't immediately and only sonic
It's on tumblr. The /vg/ thread will give you a taste of what it's like though.
Prepare the eye bleach. Self-insert and overfetished porn ahoy.
Abandon all hope ye who enter tumblr.
A few years ago this was true, but recently Sonic has become very self-aware on pretty much every front. Most of the fans constantly poke fun at how hammy and tryhard it is, leaving very little left to take it seriously (and those who do are usually very young, which you can't really blame them for.) Guys like Chris-chan are relics now and even he has mostly moved on from his Sonic obsession to his weird tranny adventures. Sonic is now far less autistic than a lot of fanbases because it's so steeped in irony. It's one of the few examples of normalfags entering a hobby proving to be beneficial.
Also it has given us way too many things to make our dick hard.
Why do you people care so much about the fanbases of games? Just play the games and don't give a fuck about them.
I don't care about the reasons, but I'll take it. A victory is a victory. At least we're not homestuck fans.
Well, sorta. It's not the games we're talking about.
Sonic is still good despite of CWC, Metal Gear is still good despite of Kurumii-Chan.
We're just talking about what game has the worst fanbase.
>I unironically like SU.
>fan base is shit and I really only watch for Jasper now.
If so that's fucking sad...
I wish he'd fuck off with the fnaf shit.
Homestuck is literally interchangeable with the most said response in this thread
Find me a fanbase that does the following, and you'll have a good fanbase:
>they've never made fanart
>they've never made porn
>they've never made youtube videos
>they don't have a general on /vg/
>they've never once tried to defend their game, even against opposition
>they don't shitpost on /v/
>they don't spout memes
>they don't engage in console wars
Find me a fanbase, just one, that fits this.
>CoD/Halo-kiddies that actually think that the games are great
>modern day Blizzdrones
These actually bother me more, because they are so fucking delusional. FNaF audience doesn't really have the same kind of presence, propably because they are so young.
A healthy pornographic community of good quality smut is the sign of a healthy fandom. If your favorite character hasn't got a doujin, it's probably an autism honeypot.
Because people like sly trickster/jokester characters. The entire furry community is full of OC's like that, for instance. The fact he's a godlike powerhouse as well only heightens his appeal
I can't remember the last time I agreed with someone this much. Porn is ALWAYS a trademark of awful fanbases. The more porn there is, the worse a fanbase is. Every single time.
Little porn, but all if it is very well-done
Fair amount of porn, all of it is well-done
There is porn in sizable quantity
Low amount of porn, most of it is bad
Tons of porn of every weird fetish, distressingly most of it is well-done
>No, they all pretty much do it to the same degree, regardless of the amount of fans.
No, they really don't, and that claim really makes no sense and is quite absurd
>all fanbases are equally loud, equally obnoxious, and all act the same
But FNAF has Weaver. Weaver would never support a bad fanbase
The first time you meet him he makes stupid puns and the game zooms in on his face whenever the rimshot plays. From this moment it was obvious that idiots would latch onto him.
I have to find that link to that one internet person who said that fandom populations are genetic, moving from one IP to another, homestuck wasn't even the first, before that came Hetalia, I think
it's Terezi all over again
There were a lot of controversial things going on at that time, the debut of Equestria Girls, Alicorn Twilight, etc. Not to mention most of the S3 episodes weren't anything special. A lot of people lost interest after that.
Like FInal Fantasy VII anti-fans, Sonic has gotten to the point where everyone thinks they're being STUNNING AND BRAVE for being the millionth person shitting on it.
The actual positives of the series outside children and the legitimately autistic is underrated in a way.
Surprisingly yes. The fandom shrunk once the fad was over and nobody cared that you watched a show for girls anymore, but the core fag audience is still there, just quieter.
They did what furries did where once they realized that posting their shit would get them kicked out or ostracized from an online community, they stopped. Fandoms need time to mature and get the autists out.
Were they pandering too hard to the fanbase and killed the original spurit of the show or something?
Is it kinda like how Birdemic 2 realized the first one was shit so they made it terrible on purpose and ended up killing the charm of the first one in an attempt to pander to the fans of the first one?
Reminds me of the "artists" on DeviantArt and such who can only draw anime shit, and while it's got a lot of technique behind it and looks good, it'll always have the same awful anime eyes and face structure that holds them back from making good art.
This is the exact same thing, only this idiot can only draw Samoans apparently.
2013 was a bad year, season cut in half to meet syndication, Faust and Renzetti gone for good, Equestria Girls leaks proved to be true, then Alicorn Twilight was revealed.
I still remember that day
A poorly rushed exec-mandated finale later, things were bleak bleak all around.
AHA I FOUND IT
KEY INDICATORS THAT GUARANTEE A SHIT FANDOM
>1: The canon has to be accessible. Look at the shit that’s become “tumblr” popular and you’ll notice all of it has the same thing in common, it’s relatively easy to get into.
>2: The canon has to be somewhat thin/open. People need to be able to project their personal feelings all over it.
>3: You’ve gotta be able to ship something. ANYTHING. There NEEDS to be a ship war.
>4: There has to be a connection, no matter how thin, to a previous shit fandom.
>5: There has to be at least THREE “big name fans” producing content at such a rate that whatever they do ends up being considered “The One True Headcanon”
Undertale fandom confirmed shit:
>Literally everyone can get into it
>It's thin enough to make OC and other retarded shit.
>Had to look up what "ship" means. There's a lot of that.
>The creator is part of the Homestuck fandom.
>Sorry, no idea.
>You’ve gotta be able to ship something. ANYTHING. There NEEDS to be a ship war.
That alone is the one guarantee, it killed Adventure Time somewhere around season 2-3. My memory's a bit rusty but I know that show pandered to shippers hard for a season or two.
It was a combination of shipping wars and the decision to move away from whimsical fantasy world with hints of a deeper story to blatant 2DEEP4U and a lot more serious storylines.
How are they though? If I recall there are two reasons why people hate them
The first is that they like Homestuck. The second is that they use their generals to discuss off topic and have a way of interacting that is alien to the rest of 4chan.
>JJBA’s fandom was mostly sane until the animu, why? Animu means it’s accessible now, so people who had never heard of it and probably wouldn’t read it because it’s “confusing” and hard to keep up with can just WATCH it
Holy shit this person is spot on. This entire thing is disturbing.
It still is, may I remind you that we've had a board specifically dedicated to that franchise for six years.
Think about the implications of that, an entire fucking board dedicated to it on a website that tried to avoid that thing.
Okay, I think I got it.
"Somebody who is lithromantic can feel romantic attraction towards others and also enjoy being in romantic relationships but only in theory."
Still, I can't make any sense of it.
I'll admit all fanbases have cancer, but we shouldn't define the entire fanbase using a small portion of it. Plus we get some really cool things from the fans.
>a small portion of it
Very few fanbases only have a small portion of idiots. Most are full of people that make you want to hide your head out of shame if you like the same things they do.
No, for the most part they really are only small portions of the fanbase that give it a bad name. The problem is they're always the most vocal because they're too stupid to just enjoy their show or game in peace and need to shove it into everyone's faces. They just seem bigger than they are because we all spend so much time on the internet now.
I know she's not on the show anymore....I keep watching because I don't like quitting during things.
Maybe one day she'll come back....
Different strokes. And it's easy to tell they're FNAF characters since they have the key features, it's no different from humanizing animal characters.
Hatedoms are about as bad Neger.
If they bring her back I want redemption like Peridot did. Either way,her coming back is great!
>"artists" on DeviantArt and such who can only draw anime shit, and while it's got a lot of technique behind it and looks good, it'll always have the same awful anime eyes and face structure that holds them back from making good art.
Damn, you are so right
fact: many games with much better gameplay have pulled off emotional moments far better than undertale
>2: The canon has to be somewhat thin/open. People need to be able to project their personal feelings all over it.
What if the series has lore like Elder Scrolls, where much of the lore is vague and sometimes contradictory and people have no choice but to come up with their own interpretations?
Though Elder Scrolls doesn't have much shipping potential and shit like CHIM is anything but accessible. Elder Scrolls lore is really dense and hard to fully understand.
I doubt most Skyrim fans even have any remote clue on how the dwemer disappeared.
They grew up
No seriously. Its still kind of bad a but a shadow of its former self. Now for something to be as bad it has to have progressive shit like adventure time or SU or draw in perverse individuals like FiM
...Seriously, what the fuck are half of these made up things? How can one be a bigender, agender, transmasc, demiboy or whatever the fuck is left? Its times like this where it doubles down on my disappointment in mankind and my loss in faith.
That's a funny way to spell Feferi
>alien girl so fit she can tow a fucking whale deep underwater
>only cosplayed by actual cetaceans
It has to be accessible. The average tumblrfag has to be able to get into it no problem, sometimes without even playing it, which is why FNAF is so huge to begin with - you can absorb all the "lore" by watching some fag do a letsplay without ever touching the game yourself.
TES lore is deep and actually requires you to play the game and absorb it yourself - even with secondary materials like a wiki it's almost impossible to find all the lore and story to it and that keeps it from gaining an autistic fanbase.
I laughed as soon as I saw the disabled flowey.
This is coming from someone who had to spend a year in one for destroying my knee but its exactly as you expect but at the same time something you cannot just make up.
Good point, most of my understanding of the deeper points of lore like CHIM or Amaranth, or that time the Khajiit got really high and climbed each other up to the moon comes from 4chan screencaps.
muffet safe from that shit.
FiM is a cancer I still think its the worst but its just contained now and sooner or later will vanish.
If some of the online communities and people did not "persecute" them then it would have been really really bad. I swear some people forgot how bad it was 2012.
desu senpai I would that Undyne in the front
The crew from Kamen Rider Gaim.
SU fanbase probably. The fact that they project their snowflake bullshit on the characters is pretty cringey in and of itself, even without all the other shit.
That being said, I feel like I'm in the people that don't like the show much for reasons outside of the fanbase. It's really melodramatic and overly emotional and takes itself too seriously. I might become interested again if Steven grows up to be an alpha Gem warrior, but I don't know.
Welcome to North American cosplay.
For everyone one person that puts in effort, you get ten people who are wearing street clothes and poorly done facepaint.
It's also infuriating when people don't put any effort into the body part of things. Part of making a cosplay look good is picking something that fits your body, or getting in shape for the event. You don't need to be perfect, but fuck's sake, at least fucking try.
Good read, also
>HS’ got audiobooks and even a thing just filling you into all the important parts up until act five so you can just skip to the trolls
I want to emphasize this: The show is fine. Just watch the show. You'll enjoy yourself.
That said, the fanbase is basically tumblr distilled. They're obsessed with the identities of the gems, way more than they are about the actual content of the show. And they're violently militant about it. Enough that they badgered a girl into trying to commit suicide and then acting like she still owed them an apology.
And they're incredibly self-righteous about it. You know the types, right? They're convinced they're on the right side of history, or they're in some special group, or some other nonsense which justifies all of their horrid actions.
Never been to Northern America, so I really have no idea.
I've had a bunch of friends really into costumes.
They were complete retards, but at least they put on some effort.
Sure, I've seen a fat black Goku or a bunch of tall Marios, but that's it.
But this is plain retarded. There is a fat and relatively simple character to cosplay as, why didn't they go for that one?
>It has to be accessible
Bionicle says hi
>People actually think Undertale fans are worse than FNAF fans
Seriously? Both are terrible but there's nothing that can beat FNAF in cancer, the only one I can really think of is
I guess he has that type of aura, sadly he isn't the final boss for the show.
The shit left behind by MLP still trumps FNAF. FNAF needs another 2 years at this strength to be considered as worst.
I don't see the appeal of a character introduced for a bit got thier ass whopped and fucked off forver
>post-planetary cataclysm setting
>massive robots that human-sized half-robots live in
>massive clan wars
>dozens of species and evolutions from common ancestors
>hundreds of recurring characters
>alternate universes interacting with each other
>post-singularity humans acting as gods
And that's just scratching the surface. There were plot twists planned out like 7 years before they actually happened. Bionicle lore is anything but accessible, but manages to have one of the most autistic fanbases I've ever seen, almost exclusively because of the create-a-character aspect being so encouraged.
The tumblr side of the undertale fanbase can get bad, but nothing, NOTHING, can get close to sonic levels. It is the king and it will stay the king for a long time. Fnaf and mlp tried to dethrone it and did a good job but still failed.
I hope i live to see the day where a fanbase gets more stupid and cancerous then the sonic one.
autism like Sonic and MLP can only happen once. The further attempts will require a different dynamic as they contain the awareness of the previous sperg critical matter.
MLP fanbase was never as grimdark as Sonic because MLP people didn't want to be the next Sonic, then came stuff like Steven Universe and everyone says they don't want to be the next MLP. Every new autism needs it's own identity.
so which fanbase mentioned here do you belong, anon
>Nobody has said PC Master Race yet
You've disappointed me greatly, /v/.
Five Nights at Freddy's is an interesting case, because a lot of people don't give a shit about it anymore. Most of the horrible autists that made up the fanbase moved on to Undertale, and a lot of the few good people dispersed elsewhere. Overall, the ratio of good to bad is still the same, but the bad isn't as bad, the good isn't as good, and the total autistic output is way lower than most other bad fanbases.
