I like Nintendo games and I've owned every Nintendo system, but everytime I'm on a Nintendo console it feels like I'm going back 6 years in time. They have outdated interfaces, garbage online capabilities and underpowered hardware. Literally the only reason to get a Nintendo console nowadays is if you really enjoy Nintendo games and you won't have 100% retention of that audience from generation to generation and you're gonna have trouble capturing a new audience if you keep gimping your tech to be half a decade behind your opponents.

They also went out of their way to alienate those loyalists when the Wii came out, so even less people came with them to Wii U.

Just like ps4 beating ps2 currently, way better launch and stock available, but the ps2 is catching up fast.

Anyway Nintendo console sales are not great and I think some of the reason is that the userbase is fragmented between the handheld and the console and for many with the handheld is enough.

Sony is pretty much the same just the console is the success and the handheld the failure.

Just do Prime. Prime was perfect. Maybe make it more actiony. I get the idea behind focusing on the exploration, still do that, but also give us some arcadey fps action. Wii-mote controls were actually really good in Prime collection.

-huge mostly open world with actual secrets. not a pointless meme open world like MGSV, but just look at Zelda 1 for inspiration

-items that aren't just glorified keys
-bring back and expand rpg elements. magic, multiple swords that aren't just storyline events

Zelda should compete with things like skyrim. it used to be a beautiful combo of arcade action and rpg exploration and equipment
