Fucking get in here.
>1080p - 4k
>literal GOAT combat
>hundreds of hours of fun
I am so happy I will probably not even think about suicide for a week.
Because I can do other things while I am waiting for it to come out. Was playing some EO4 and doing a bit of programming in the meantime.
3 MORE HOURS
FUCK YOU AMERICA FOR MAKING ME WAIT AN EXTRA 12 HOURS
Can we transfer our save when it comes out?
>Este jogo será destravado em aproximadamente 3 horas
MT framework is pretty mod unfriendly but there has been some inroads with texture and ost replacement.
Stats and appearance data for actors was easily moddable on console since it was stored as a plaintext file.
>encounters consisting of endless waves of wolves and bandits with an occassional boss
>most of the quests are kill X of X filler shit
Yeah I'm really excited OP
For some reason I feel like getting a refund for this game and buying another rpg
>tfw therapy appointment at the exact same hour dragon's dogma comes out
>just got an email from workplace
>have the day off
>DD in an hour
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
Your first 10 levels influence your stats more than the next, so your first class is somewhat important but ultimately not. Everyone evens out by 200.
That being said, if you want to do magic archer, do mage first. It'll buff your damage whereas going strider first will make your magic arrows do jack shit.
It may have a good combat but not fully the gameplay - for example you can only sprint for a few seconds and need to rest for about twice as long, this is not a good mechanic especially with no mounts and a restricted fast travel system.
I've not played this game before and I never understood THE WIND IS PUSHING ME shit you faggots spewed around some years ago.
Now I do and god damn do I love this trailer, will definitely buy the game.
Fighter or Strider.
Some people say you need MAGICK for Assassin, because of some OP weapon but meh. I'd go for STR and stamina. Get a few levels 10+ of warrior in, for some health gains, and maybe a few levels as ranger for that delicious stamina.
My one complaint (aside from issues that will be fixed with a PC version) of this game was how little content there was. I mean in terms of actual locations you can explore. My biggest hope for a sequel is tons of far off lands to visit.
I hate (vocal) weebs just like any healthy person, but c'mon now. Next you're going to say any person who own or owned a PS is/was a weeb.
Remember NOT to start on hard, because it's hard as balls early (and fun), but subsequently breaks the entire game post level 20-30. You get showered in XP, DP and gold. The game isn't one of the hardest to begin with, but hard mode actually makes it easy mode after a few hours. Normal has better progression.
I think the overworld was big enough, it just needed more dungeon locations like The Catacombs and Shadowfort.
Sequel never ever though
>2 hours to launch
>No money for games until 25th
Well, in the beginning a group of bandits will fuck you up. Anything given numbers and a lack of proper healing will fuck you up. Night might fuck you up.
It's a dangerous world, until you get high enough to kill most things before they can kill you. Fun though.
Nothing huge but it's not impenetrable either, we already have Into Free menu music, texture experimentation and ...other things.
I weigh 160, but that's just fat. When I lose weight I'll probably be around 140.
I'm 5'8" and have small hands and feet. I'm kinda worried about my face but makeup and haircuts can fix that, and also my rib cage is kinda big.
Does this game unlock in an hour or two hours? I keep seeing differently
Seriously? I haven't even tried KB+M yet, since I usually hate KB+M controls with third person action games.
Might try it actually.. even more so because I'm currently rolling Ranger, and KB+M aim seems neat.
Not starting hard is awful and the entire game is a cake walk the entire time for anyone who actually plays video games. On hard even at higher levels most big things one shot or two hit you if you didn't level with a class that gives HP.
Played on PS3 and have around 200-300 hours (lots of UR online kills and build min-maxing and twinking out peoples pawns)
I can absolutely confirm that while hard mode is brutal early game, you get double exp and skill points, also mobs drop randomly 1k-10k bags of gold like candy.
In the regular game, a rush to gran soren will earn you probably less than 10k, a rush to gran soren on hard will net you 200-300k rng dependant.
Honestly, if you hold out on doing the escort to gran soren and do all the sidequests, do some exploration and kill stuff, you can end up gearing up your main and pawn in the best gear for every chapter with change for 40 potent greenwarish and large mushrooms, making the double damage moot (since you can heal it easily and the extra def from good gear will counter it) and the double stamina cost doesnt mean shit when you can afford to eat mushrooms 2-3 at a time just because you want to spam abilities..
Normal difficulty has a similar progression however, it gets easy within a few hours.. Hard just has to endure a little longer, and then has unlimited resources soon after that.
(I will play on Hard anyway because I think it is way more fun, and the difficulty falls off around the time everyone thinks you are the badass hero of the world anyway, sinking gold into gear and materials so I don't have to loot as often is nice too)
That post was really long. Hope it explains some shit more depth tho.
Dunno about comfy, but Rangers are chill when just solo exploring, take potshots at things with snipes and lots of good looking gear options.. With KB + M controls it should be even more nice.
Comfy solo exploration defos Ranger.
That said, I love my MK but don't really think it is a comfy class.. its an absolute juggernaught if played properly tho.
you fight roughly 40-50 mobs during the escort quest, all of which have a very good chance of dropping a cash bag. if half of them pay out with the 10k bag, you are at the aforementioned number..
If you are a melee only class and are unable to hit them with skyward slash or jump slashes, you can literally jump and grab them, if heavy enough you will bring them down to the ground.
>not leveling multiple vocations to get stat bonuses that also benefit your pawn
>sticking with one vocation the whole game
Seriously the game even encourages you switching constantly
On hard you get more gold and combat XP, but quest XP is the same.
There are ways to improve this, but without meta knowledge you wouldn't even know that.
And if you're light enough, the opposite happens.
Not him but I always prefer having jack of all trade type characters, so I will switch constantly when levelling, in terms of min-maxing my character will end up almost perfectly balanced across all stats..
The benefit of that is i get to play every class for about 10-20 levels at a time.. which is great.. and since Portcrystals are dime a dozen now, carrying one acts as a mark/recall.. So i can switch out to the next class.
I'm really happy for all the PCfriends here. I loved Dragon's Dogma, and recently picked up Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen to play all that delicious extra content.
This is one of those games that really stuck with me, both for the tremendous gameplay, the story, the creative additions not found in other games, and just a whole lot else.
I learned and set up my pc for webms just for this game. Got some good settings and bitrates going.
One of the few games ive been excited for in a while.
if you make your main pawn a Sorc you can Spell Sync and you have a good degree of control in making your pawn Utilitarian so they do it too.
but otherwise yes you want another class backing you up for a balanced approach
>purchase went wrong
>money been wired
>contacted SteamSupport two days ago
>still no answer
holy fucking shit, just respond. do they have 1 guy answering a thousand emails per day or something?
Yes we can
Sauce: capcom community manager
You need to train your fighter/warrior pawn for that to work reliably, and have them very high on utilitarian. Never had it work with a recruited fighter, but my Tank gal was able to pull it off when I was on a pure phys attack assassin, basically throwing me onto UR dragons back.. was good times.
You that Dutch guy?
Also. Steam support is literally the single worst thing on earth. Most of the time they just copy paste a generic help FAQ. Even if you said in your ticket you have read through it already.
Hire a Utilitarian/Mitigator fighter pawn who has only Dragon's Maw and Shield Drum, a Utilitarian Sorcerer with similar spells to yours, make your pawn a utilitarian Sorcerer with exactly the same spells as you. Forge wyrmking ring and keep the original for yourself.
Insert Dick 2.
You've obviously never played DD.
If you fuck up really bad, you can't go to a previous save.
Not saving for a long time is really fucking bad, and ironically, saving too often is really fucking bad.
You can make a mistake without realizing, save your game, and you won't be able to go back to before you made the mistake.
Oh wait yes you can! There's a checkpoint save that was made about 10 levels ago, perfect! /endrant
Yeah. I know I keep posting this, but I'm fucking pissed. I just want to play, but I'm not gonna buy it a second time with a chance of losing the original money. First want my money back.
>Start a new game
>get my shit slapped, but deal huge amount of damage
>get annoyed with Rook always having to heal me
>armor stats are shite
>Reroll a Fighter
>max it out and switch to Fighter
>This game is actually fun
>jesus christ I'm fucking tackling ogres, cyclops and manticores like nothing
Having a means to enchant weapons is for the majority mandatory to exploit weaknesses, but honestly, Spring Water > Mage
Especially if you give 20 to each party member. Also drop a Portcrystal at a Healing Spring so you can top up between missions easily.. also makes escort missions to the Spring easy as pie.
>mfw preordered from Instant Gaming and haven't received the key yet
there's no manticores in DD
>he fell for the "Dragon's Dogma is good" meme
First playthrough. Downloaded leak, tried it, bought it an hour later. Hyped to hell and back.
So, for the first playthrough, should I go warrior or sorcerer? Also, does character weight I saw during character creation influence attack speed, casting speed?
Not sure what I should change, but I'm not quite satisfied with these two.
I liked this game but you guys should be prepared to be disappointed lol. Matter of fact, i bet the majority of people will quit after 2-3 hours because the first 10 hours of the game is not only a drag but hard too.
Warrior. Because I was trying out the other vocations and wanted to see how the bigger weapons played like.
I've been having more fun as Warrior than I was as a mage.
>jump from ledges and just swing down on fools
>charge attacks without interruption
>I am Death Incarnate
I feel like a god damn power house and I only have the 2-Hander. When the fuck do I get better equipment?
For the price of 19 yuropoors as a working person, i really don't care whether it's shit or not.
So I've played Dragon's Dogma twice, once with a strider/archer focuses, and the other with a magic focus. I want to do another run, but is doing a melee guy focused run worth it? Without doing crazy magic or being spider man, what's the point?
Normal mode, Hard mode is actually easier since it has double drops, with the sole exception that the first 20 levels, everything one shots you, but then you overcome that, as is natural, and the game becomes the same cakewalk it always was
also, you can use skills half as much.
it's just dumb.
r290 here, running way over 60fps at highest downsample.
Can someone fill me in on this game
is it actually any good
You should be a man for once. Also, why the fuck is the screenshot so much more colorful than the actual game.
Shit nigga, I did the same thing in my CADD class in high school. We played Halo CE, Unreal Tournament Gold, and Call of Duty 1 all fucking day. I just loaded them all onto a flash drive and passed it around class one day. Shit was really fun
>wasting money before checking the quality of the product
Now I see why DLC and overpriced games exist
Is there a way to remake my character through a command like in elder scrolls that you can access the character creation menu again through a command?
Debating between making my pawn sort of a balanced stat spread so it can do absolutely everything fairly well. Or focusing on making the most absolutely beast Fighter pawn I can get, assuming I share it around on here a lot, would you prefer to "get a pawn" that is reliable in all roles, based on what you want, or just a real badass fighter?
Any input on this.
loads of fun and yes easy mode
the game isnt that hard anyway
there is some advantage to using a normal bow with skills like Comet Shot and Great Gamble to hitting specific parts of enemies for like breakoff's n shit but the homing system is just fire n forget
plus the magic arrow skills are great
Fuck, where is the person who made the Into Free mod? I am trying to figure out how to go about editing the .arc file myself to understand how music replacing works but all I get are dead ends. Anything on MT Framework past DMC4/RE5 I am at a loss for modding.
Could never manage to get Lost Planet 2 music editing working either.
OH SHIT LOG OUT AND LOG BACK INTO STEAM
DON'T FUCK WITH ME
Your character height and weight and all that do effect your running speed/stamina consumption/carry weight yes. If you play as a skeltal loli don't expect to be able to run very fast or very long or be able to carry much.
You can experiment with the vocations all you want. Find out what you like and what you don't and have fun.
>Absolutely love DD
>Play the everliving shit out of it and DA when it hit
>/v/ has literally made threads for 4 years straight
>PC release ensures that we will get another 4 because autists can't let it go
I mean I'm going to put in another 50 plus on PC, but I really don't look forward to the "Not general" remaining a thing. IF they annouced a DD2 I'd be fine with it.
WHAT THE FUCK DOES IT MEAN??? IT JUST HAPPENED 3 MINUTES AGO
I did, it's just not working very well on the distant objects, you can clearly see it on the character model.
Did I? I compared the colors to real grass, the game is extremely desaturted and really washed out looking.
Wow. I didn't figure they would have that kind of information in there. Thanks anon.
Get the various stat boosting augs from fighter/war/mage/sorc, reduced cast time, keep wyrmking ring, get fighter perfect block frames augment. Demonswrath, Abyssal Anguish + an enchant for your shield setup, Great Cannon for your sword, with probably Antler toss.
Get more stam from ranger, balance out your ATK/MATK at IIRC 40atk/60matk as your abilities use both. alternatively balance them out as you level.
Abyssal Anguish causes your sword to have increased range, with a shockwave that causes another hit also increases the damage of your weapon by a portion of your MATK from the shield AND adds Dark Element AND can be enchanted ontop of normal enchants, this synergises with Great Cannons too as the shockwave will cause an additional trigger. ideally always enchant your weapon before creating cannons, as non enchanted cannons are decidedly weaker. Lastly, You can oneshot most boss type enemies via a combination of Demonswrath (At full charge) put down 2-3 Great Cannons, enchanted with abyssal anguish.. Release Demonswrath when e.g chimera is in your face, ontop of the cannons, and you will hit it several 100 times.. on PS3 this sometimes froze the game.
Learn to perfect block.
Pirates please report back if you can
A) use your save file
B) upload your pawn (for this just rest at an inn)
What the fuck is going on with this timer, holy shit. It's literally jumping between 3 hours and 20 minutes constantly.
Fucking unpacking is unreal. I guess this is my excuse to shower today
>tfw don't own a decent PC
Guess I'm just gonna bust out the ol' 360 so I can play along with you guys. I miss this game.
WE LAUNCH NOW BOYS
ETA ON INSTALL: 5 MINUTES
Every first world country has some place where the internet is shitty. It's actually easier for some third world countries to have better internet, because they only got it recently.
>yfw at least ~25% of steam users are using achievement manager or cheats
can't wait until all the buyer's remorse
dd is literally trash that's only popular around here because of the /a/utists using it as a loli simulator
the combat is trash, has no depth besides mindless button mashing. the only thing the combat has is flash. that's LITERALLY it. hurr durr you can climb. it's a gimmick and it still comes down to mashing one button
EVERYBODY STOP UNPACKING ALL AT ONCE YOU ARE SLOWING MY SHIT DOWN
>when I've already played it
Which part? When does the combat get fun?
What class do you have to be for the combat to be fun?
I'm a ranger and I just sit back and shoot arrows. I use my daggers when the enemy gets close, which consists of me holding ctrl or alt.
I'm not having fun, but I bet I'm missing something.
Oh hey, you actually came over from >>324032472
That's kind of sad
Not the anon you replied to, but yeah, it is washed out. But Maybe something in between the two that you posted would look better. Still a bit bleak, but not totally colorless. When you've got that, post it.
Where the hell is hard mode? I only get easy and normal.
>not enough space on ssd
why does a 4 year old game take so much space
>timer slowly ticking up
11! 12! 13 minutes and counting!
How great has Capcom been concerning this shit?
All the DD save bonuses you get in DA you get them on PC without
Bro-tier community manager
Capcom confirming pirates will keep their saves
RELEASING AN HOUR EARLIER
This shit should be an example on how to handle Jap PC ports.
A+++ would buy again
IF YOUR PAWN IS A GUARDIAN, FUCKING STOP IT FROM BEING A GUARDIAN, DO NOT USE "D-PAD" COMMANDS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
DO NOT HIRE GUARDIAN PAWNS YOU WILL REGRET IT.
WARRIOR HAS BEST HP GAIN PRE 100 AND WORST HP GAIN POST 100
MIN-MAXING IS POINTLESS AS BBI GEAR IS OP
UTILITARIAN IS ALMOST ALWAYS AN INSTANT PICK RECRUIT WHEN LOOKING FOR PAWNS, A PARTY OF UTILITARIANS WITH GOOD MONSTER KNOWLEDGE SYNCHRO REALLY WELL.
USE A MAGE AS YOUR PARTY ENCHANTER/HEALER UNTIL YOU GET ACCESS TO SPRING WATER RELIABLY THEN NEVER RECRUIT MAGES AGAIN.
PAWNS WILL USE CURATIVES WHEN NEEDED, YOU CAN HAVE STRIDERS PERMANANTLY 100 KISSES SPAMMING AN ENEMY WEAKPOINT IF THEY HAVE MUSHROOMS.
MK BEST CLASS
HOW JELLY ARE YOU RIGHT NOW
>HE'S STILL UNPACKING
AHAHA WHAT A FAG
Different strokes for different folks. Many warriors will tell you arc swing is the most fun especially when timed properly. You aren't enjoying Ranger so go pick a new vocation
be honest with yourselves. it's not a good game and bbi is literally "WE WANT THE DARK SOULS AUDIENCE" which it failed horribly at
there's a reason it sold like shit even when they were charging $30
the game has the depth of a puddle and deliberately tricks you into thinking the map is a lot bigger than it is, but there's no content so what does that mean
>he enjoys grinding
>he grinds in a single player game
lmaoing at your life
I'm not going to min-max or anything, I just wanna enjoy the ride on my first playthrough, but what I would like some foreknowledge of is how to AVOID making my pawn a guardian pawn. Can anyone gives me some tips or advice on that?
I hope you faggots have the FLY INTO FREE mod ready.
REEEEE SSDFAGS GET OUT
FUCKING PAY TO WIN BULLSHIT
CAN YOU UPLOAD YOUR PIRATE VERSION PAWN??
CAN YOU UPLOAD YOUR PIRATE VERSION PAWN??
CAN YOU UPLOAD YOUR PIRATE VERSION PAWN??
GO TO AN INN AND REST, AND SEE IF THEY'RE UPLOADED
>Just bought the game
>Download won't be for done for another hour and a half
Like the other anons said, don't do it.
BUT if you REALLY want to;
It's in the main menu, not the first time you boot up. You have to go back to the main menu and select hard mode. You lose story progression, but retain levels, gear and such.
Have fun anon.
>have game pre-loaded for a week
>have to wait 10 minutes just for an arbitrary download in order to play
Anyways, I played the very beginning of this on the xbox 360 and is it normal for your pawns to completely obliterate things for you? I couldn't seem to deal any damage to the chimera but I only have about less than 30 minutes of playtime under my belt.
It seemed like normal enemies were extremely weak but the boss was really tough.
I like playing melee characters that can swap weapons in combat, is that viable or no?
What would you recommend for a complete beginner?
Is this game difficult, but fair on Hard?
If no, what's the most faglord set?
I saw a webm of a guy melting a boss by grabbing onto it and blurring for like 3 seconds, then the boss died, can anyone explain?
