While Formula Fusion has all the basic assets and aesthetics of a Wipeout successor, it lacks something.
From the gameplay footage I am missing the bouncyness of the vehicles. It seems like you are locked into a z-axis and can't do jumps if you go too fast. That was something I always liked about Wipeout though because it made you feel like the vehicle actually had to struggle to keep a certain distance to the track.

They've been really struggling with getting the physics right in that regard, it's going to be absolutely key if they want to win people over.

Project feels like vapourware though, it had a really rocky start. They can still turn it around but it's not going to be easy.

I had the chance to speak to Simon Barlow who was the Design Director on Driveclub at an expo before the game was set to release. Evolution currently holds the Wipeout IP within the WWS.

He told me that the team there would be very excited to work on a new game in the series, but that there were concerns about a new game being able sell more than the million or so copies that series normally hits with each entry.

I think a PS4 Wipeout with HD controls and Driveclub tier post launch support would be one of the best fucking things ever, and would easily exceed those expectations, but what are you gonna do??
