The only thing that really bugs me about bloodborne is enemy hyper armor+lack of a dodge cancel for attacks. I get that enemy hyper armor is to counter R1 spam and lack of dodge cancel is so that people can actually leave themselves open in PVP, but it's fucking bullshit when you're attacking an enemy and all of a sudden it's like "HAHA MOTHERFUCKER! NOW I'M BLOWING RIGHT THROUGH YOUR ATTACKS AND YOU'RE GOING TO EAT MY CLAW IN YOUR FACE HARD BECAUSE YOU'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ATTACK ANIMATION!"

Does upgrading your gun make it able to parry bigger enemies?
I tried out a pistol on my 2nd character and it couldn't parry what the blunderbuss could.
But now my blunderbuss can't parry some of the big enemies I'm fighting.

I tried out testing the parrying window with the pistol on the big brick fuckers. It's definitely easier to parry with the blunderbuss. Maybe the parry window is bigger with a powerful gun.

Upgrading your guns only makes them deal more base damage/increase scaling, it doesn't make them more likely to stagger nor does it increase your parry frames when you shoot.

It certainly doesn't let you parry bigger enemies when you upgrade, but you can parry almost every enemy or boss anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Pistol has less parry frames than the shotgun, however the pistol has fewer start-up frames than the shotgun so you can press L2 later with the pistol and still pull off a parry; the main reason to use shotgun is that is has a wider hitbox for parrying so you don't have to be pinpoint accurate when you do it.

The only non-boss enemies I've met which don't get stunned are the big church dudes, the big axe dudes, and the big brick dudes. In fact, it's easy to stunlock enemy hunters (the only really threatening enemies) from full to death with only 15 ARC, with the sole exception of Mr. Crow.

One kind of enemy that does it a lot I've noticed are the hooded guys in the chalice dungeons that have a variety of weapons. Enemy hunters don't really do it except for the bullshit on purpose ones like the edgecrow and Djura like you mentined.

Not really. I like dicking around with different builds, which are varied enough to make the game play differently every time. The controls and engine are tight enough that I can appreciate the little nuances and differences of each weapon or armor set.

Of course, i've played the everliving fuck out of each From game, so it's a rarity that I die to bosses, at least until NG+, so i'm probably an autist.

I think the i-frames was my only real gripe. Sure, I could find lots of little issues with small stat inefficiencies, but I don't hold games to some kind of crazy standard of perfection. For example, resistance was fucking stupid in Dark Souls 1, but it's just more of a "meh".

In all fairness the game isn't perfect. Camera get in the way and it has been the leading cause of death during boss fights, there are more than a few glitches, and the replay value isn't very high. It's a fucking awesome game but that doesn't mean it's perfect.

And OP. Stop bitching, you knew it was hard before you bought it, that's what it's famous for. If you don't like hard games don't buy Souls games, GodHand or Vanquish.

A sense of accomplishment from not being carried through a game. This isn't even a Souls mentality, but where's the fun in having others do the playing for you? At that point you're reduced to a spectator.

Playing with sameleveled friends is one thing because you'd be progressing on your own, but summoning high level players to kill bosses for you is no better than watching a Youtube playthrough.
Though personally I prefer beating games on my own, and having alt characters reserved for friends.

FPS is always dynamic. Your hardware will try to pump out as many frames as the software wants it to pump, and it will continuously struggle to do so. FPS drops happen because the hardware can't keep up.

For me, Bloodborne is steady 30, and will drop to sub20 on certain bosses if I destroy some of their limbs. Amygdala especially.

The thing with the souls series is that like older games, there's not only no spoon feeding but a complete lack of explanation.

You have to figure things out yourself, which is I guess part of the charm.

Make no mistakes Souls games are hard for new players to the series.

My only nitpick of the game is that knowledge isn't applied progressively. Each enemy is different and act dissimilar to others, it might take a few deaths before you figure out how your supposed to kill that particular creature.

I've just started playing DaS on PC and while I'm sort of enjoying it, it's definitely frustrating at times. At the end of the day it's a series that deliberately tries to punish you.
