>you will never be as cuhrazee as donguri
>that fucking ending
>he hasn't gotten dmc4se yet, one of the best action hack n slash games ever
You could get as good as Donguri, it'll take years but it's doable, though the thing about Donguri is he gets boring to watch after a while.
We're never getting a sequel to DmC. It's done.
Why is DMC2 so cringeworthy, but so fun at the same time? I will finish it.
Itsuno recently tweeted he's begun work on his next game. Most are thinking it's DMC5 because the the VA for Vergil let loose that they're all being brought back.
Nah, it'll most def be a sequel to pic related.
>doesn't like wall running
>doesn't like killing bosses with just guns
>doesn't like flying
>doesn't like to play just to get to the cutscenes and hear Dante's beautiful voice acting
To be fair it's my first playthrough of the game, and yeah it's nothing like the other games.
good luck anon. I gave up on my hard playthrough to get Trish. Not because of any actual challenge, just too fucking boring.
Don't forget there's 2 discs, lol. Lucia's campaign is even worse, and filled with motherfucking water levels. WATER LEVELS, in a fucking action game.
>Dobyouvreally think its worth it?
Not him, but I can flat out tell you it's not in any way. You won't gain some secret forbidden secret of DMC or anything. You're just pushing yourself through an incomplete game that was obviously stitched together by the devs. Don't let that stop you though, go give it a shot and see for yourself.
The only redeeming aspects are the music, and the Dante outfit. I will post some of both so you won't be missing anything.
https://youtu.be/Mmx_ycWgfuI (Goddamn this song does it for me.)
Yeah, the DMC2 soundtrack is something special, doesn't get enough love.
It's worse, in the sense that it no longer supports toasters. It added a bunch of unnecessary visual shit, like blur, and can only be removed through hex editting or something. I forget.
>>he hasn't gotten dmc4se yet, one of the best action hack n slash games ever
I have it but it doesn't run in 16:10 and the motion blur made things hard to look at. They never updated it, but I still have it installed. I lack the drive to play it because of this.
Lady feels unfinished in SE
Trish is ok
Vergil and Nero are about the same
Dante has such an expansive moveset compared to everyone else
Do you think they're going to have multiple campaigns for different characters in DMC5?
Nah. I hope they'll let you select character, like this Nero fags can play with their husbando while the real men play with Dante.
The thing with this approach though is that it's going to be hard to balance enemies, since you'd probably want to make the enemies more fun to play against for one character. That's a design challenge for the devs, I guess!
The general consensus is it's not like the games and is therefore shit. I think it's comfy and shows a different side to Dantes life we don't see in the games.
I felt like Lady and Trish were pretty much player demos in SE. My first thoughts were that they just wanted to at least lay down the groundwork so they can improve on them in a future installment.
I think you're right, and as they are now I think they're perfect for newcomers. I don't want them to stay like that though, as I think everyone should be up to par with Dante, but for what they are right now they're good enough.
I remember seeing a "stylish gameplay video" for DMC2. The player was trying really, really hard to make the combat seem cool, but you can tell that he was stretching himself thin in his attempts.
>enemies are not fun to kill anymore
I'd argue DMC3 had worse enemies...Did anyone actually like fighting those annoying-ass spider-things? How about those metal guys who you had to run around and whack in the back? The flying demon angel wing dudes?
I mean, I guess people might like them because they're not punching bags, but fuck man.
So I just picked it up, and tips and recommendations are always welcome , specifically with avoid getting hit, and is it recommended to change button mapping for smoother charge abilities?
Spiders were cool, you can style the fuck out of them, they're just strong and they fight back.
The only annoying enemies in DMC3 were the armored ones with the giant shields and those gas things, they break the whole flow of the combat.
The angel ones were also awful if you didn't have capacity for aerial combos.
>with a combat system that has yet to be surpassed
But it has been
Hard to pick between them, at least for me.
>great, likeable characters
>challenging yet rewarding gameplay
>tight, responsive controls
>boss fight against someone with a similar moveset (though i think god hand has the better fight)
Everyone has their secret hopes for a DMC5. Mine has always been a player vs mode. Especially after those Dante fights, such a tease. I don't give a flying floogle fuck about balance either. I kinda imagine it turning out something like MVC3.
There needs to be more to DMC endgame than beating up a bunch of NPCs in Bloody Palace mode. The series is brimming with potential, it's just that we may never see it.
Adding in the option for human players in a game of this variety gives almost limitless challenge to players.
>I feel like PvP would be the worst thing to happen to DMC
How what would you have to lose? I'm not asking it to take center stage or anything. Just the option would be nice.
>anyone half decent at royal guard you'll lose.
Npcs are one thing, anticipating an actual player is another. I'm sure they'd make tweaks solely to combat vs players, much like the few present in the Dante fight. (Can't just spam grab or some shit like that.)
Most definately. I still remember when I first played it. I died well over 30 times on the first level alone.
The small spiders had ridiculous super armor you have to break through (A&R hits them like a truck though) but they're punching bags afterwards.
The big spiders, floating knights and gas demons can fuck the fuck off though.
Nero and Vergil at the very least (unsure about the others) benefit hugely from putting shooting to L1 and DT to Square
For a genre that has its roots in a game where the player tries to be as flashy and stylish as possibly, I find it incredibly ironic that such a stupid sounding name is what caught on.
And no, I still hate that genre name.
It's better to dodge more than you think. God Hand is somewhat about remembering the attack patterns of mooks and bosses. But mostly, you can react to it pretty easily the first time, provided you have good reflexes.
When you get to a certain guy wielding a katana on the other hand...
That's how I play all my action games.
So, for someone who's only played 3 for over 100+ hours, is DMC4SE worth it?
I honestly can't find a better game than 3. It's my favorite game of all time. I've beaten its BP 20 times already, 5 of them going through the water portals exclusively.
I feel like all the combo potential and combat depth is secondary-- like the game isn't built around challenging the player to use it to it's fullest and throwing compelling enemies with AI that give meaning to all the moves at your disposal. I think that's the biggest flaw with DMC3 and DMC4. They can be played and beaten like they're God of War, even though they're supposedly above it.
Dante plays better, I think Vergil is better in 4SE as well, the game offers a lot of replayablity in the form of the amount of characters, there are less bosses but outside of the Savior and the final boss I think the quality of them is great, and in my opinion, Credo is the most fun boss in the series. I prefer the mooks in 4 to 3 as well. Fortuna is a nice change of pace if you've grown tired of the same halls Temen-Ni-Gru has to offer. I don't think you'll enjoy it more than 3SE but you'll enjoy 4SE.
I hope Itsou goes and looks at what makes the first game so great if he makes a DMC5.
It is completely unrivaled in the series when it comes to atmosphere, pacing, enemies, and mallet island just feeling like a geniune place.
I could totally see something like the Bloodborne world structure for DMC5, not open world, but very non-linear. Give us a place like the Resident Evil mansion and Mallet Island again. If he could combine the best parts of 1 and 4 then DMC5 would be a masterpiece.
I don't think we'll have something like that, I'm not trying to say Itsuno can't do something like DMC1, I like how Gransys feels in DD and I thought the castle in 4 was a step in the right direction but it doesn't appear to be his focus. The environments are a backdrop for the combat and I think Itsuno likes it that way.
They could still have the mission based structure though, the game just needs chokepoints were every mission starts and ends, with paths deviating from it during the mission, like DMC1.
Also he needs to fucking scrap orb collecting from the mission score already. I don't care if people think that makes it "more casual", its a stupid fucking thing to account for when trying to play the mission as flawlessly as you can.
If he replaced orbs with damage then it would be perfect, I don't go out of my way to collect orbs in DMC, I end up getting the majority of my moveset in the first playthrough anyway.
A hub in his shop would be great.
I think DMC going Open World would be a terrible idea. But a more non-linear model would be great. Choosing your missions, optional side missions, that kind of shit.
Hell I think dress-up for Dante and other playable characters would be great, not statbased shit, just purely cosmetic. Instead of just choosing a costume, have players be able to decide boots, shirt, coat, colors. Like in RPG's and multiplayer games.
>start game with ~$200
>have to pay rent, utilities, bullets after each mission
>never make any money and money never affects anything
>ends with Dante in debt but it's literally just a joke stat
Colors are pretty much defined already though. I'd like to alter the Devil Triggers too
>with a combat system that has yet to be surpassed.
happened before the game even came out with NG/NGB
Obviously babbys first hack and slash fags like you have no idea about that though because muh le infinite air juggles
>Sup NGfag, got bored baiting /cgg/?
>durr le unparalleled combwat system
>w-what u-u are just some guy from /cgg/...w-waah..
Typical DMC4 kid
Saying the combat system of DMC4 is unmatched was the only "bait" in the thread
Yeah I agree, your not going to get any crazy combo stuff from the games. But it's still quite decent and it portrays the theme of DMC quite well.
Also Strawberry Sundae's for days.
