I FUCKING LOVE CHANDELURE
But it doesn't have limbs
How is it going to fight?
Are you people fucking serious? You can like that pokemon all you want and I'd even agree that it has an appealing design. But this is a fighting game. How would I imagine this thing fighting a Machamp? This is like the Smash threads full of people wanting Toad in Smash4.
Machamp is a fighting type and chandelure is a ghost type
Machamp would be more Machump for that matchup
>My pokemon fighting game isn't realistic
I don't understand you people. For the sake of variety you're going to be excited to play as a floating chandelier.
Is this a new meme? Ironic hype?
No, you can LIKE the pokemon. Fucking whatever. No one has explained why they would want to play as this pokemon in a fighting game. I realize that I'm being autistic as fuck right now because I care enough to keep posting, but my curiosity is killing me.
I actually like floating fighting game characters
I think Rosalina and mewtwo are pretty cool
You can make a bowl of oatmeal work as a fighting game character if you're as crazy as Sakurai. That isn't the point at all. The insanity comes from actually wanting that bowl of oatmeal.
Because of how different it is from the rest of the cast.
Every fighting game roster needs at least one or two entries that have an amount of "what the fuck" or it isn't interesting. Chandelure hits that niche very nicely.
>there are people who wanted ugly-ass Delphox instead of qt Braixen
Delphox is shit. Shit! SHIT!!
All I wanted was for a goddamn hat and instead I get the worst case of ear hair I have ever seen.
>>>last thread deleted
Braixen squashed the "NO NFE POKEMON ALLOWED" meme.
Chandelure squashed both the "NO LIMBLESS POKEMON ALLOWED" and "NO BACKGROUND POKEMON ALLOWED" memes.
Swampert's exclusion squashed the "MUH STARTER TYPE PATTERNS" meme.
The ONLY limits remaining are Support Pokemon, and special cases like Magnemite, who was disqualified from entering the game after winning first place in a popularity contest in Japan because they couldn't think of a moveset for him.
Gen V was a gift from God. The pokemon, the music, the girls, fuck even the story wasn't terrible.
Also, Bisharp for Pokken when.
>I think Rosalina and mewtwo are pretty cool
The fact that they have limbs is why I can't accept the comparison.
Is that really it? Yeah that's sort of cool, I guess. But feels unnecessary with a small roster out of hundreds of pokemon to choose.
>Every fighting game roster needs at least one or two entries that have an amount of "what the fuck" or it isn't interesting
What the fuck are you even talking about? That's not even close to true.
It's a wisp fire/ghost type that disguises itself so it can steal souls. He's a cool ghost type and some people just want to play their favorites regardless of whether they fit the fighting game model.
>Mods continually deleting threads
Faggots, we can discuss Pokemon here, it's videogames. Shit like Pokken especially since it's a Tekken/Pokemon spinoff. /vp/ is a shitpost containment board.
Zoroark would make for a cool doppleganger type fighter sort of like Marionette from Dark Stalkers or Mokujin from Tekken
Ditto will be 2P for clone matches.
>How would I imagine this thing fighting a Machamp?
By setting the motherfucker on fire.
The thread was deleted because it had over 500 posts, quit being so fucking paranoid.
Correct, but it gives explanation as to why Chandelure may have been prioritized over other Gen V choices.
Keep in mind he's the first and only Gen V mon in the game right now.
That is not how Zoroark works, christ what is wrong with you people? Why are Pokemon fans so thick headed?
At least people voted for them I guess
That's great and all but can we break the "no assists allowed" rule?
You can do almost anything with it. It works great with Specs, Scarf or under Trick Room, has sky-high SpA, interesting typing, Flash Fire which boosts its sepcial Fire moves even more etc etc.
>Gen V gets a rep
>it isn't Scrafty
>it isn't Meinshao
>it isn't Darmanitan
>it isn't Whimsicott
>it isn't Lilligant
>it isn't even one of those clown body builders
>it's a fucking chandelier
You sound like such an insufferable faggot.
I don't particularly like chandelure, I don't hate it but I can appreciate it, and I think he's a great addition, his fight style will have to be totaly different from the rest of the cast since he has no fucking arms or legs.
It's creative, out of the ordinary and he's cute enough, it's fine, now stop being such a faggot for the love of yhvh.
statwise it's pretty fucking strong albiet slow, and slapping a choice scarf on the thing can still be pretty fucking scary
design wise it's pretty cute for a fully evolved ghost pokemon as well as an object shaped pokemon. hell, its design straight up reminds me of a Heartless from KH
>People complain about not having unique Pokemon
>Probably the most unique one in the game announced
>People complain about it
I know that whole "/v/ is not one person" thing but come on people
>I'm about to put Scraftyfags on my shitlist.
>he didn't already have them on the list due to OCs like this
There IS no way to make Zoroark's ability work in the context of a fighting game. Zoroark is
my second favorite pokemonbut if you have to do away with the main thing that makes it unique so that it can work in the game then that would defeat the purpose of including it. People that don't even understand how the pokemon works are part of why Zoroark will remain dead and buried forever.
Girls. I'm serious.
Pokemon fans are fucking stupid.
>What the fuck are you even talking about? That's not even close to true.
It's certainly an opinion, if that's what you're having a problem with. But it's an opinion with a few examples to back it up.
Say what you will about genre definitions, but Smash is a game that has always had characters on its roster that are out of left field, and it's certainly better for it.
If your argument is that a pokemon fighting game should "take itself more seriously" than smash, or something, I don't really know what to tell you.
Do you guys think America or Europe will get a pill similar to what got Gengar in or will this be strictly catering to Japan's taste in Pokemon?
>best ghost type gets in
I'm pleasantly surprised how many anons like Chandelure. You make me proud.
Chandelure is a cool ghost pokemon, though. Fun idea for a Ghost/Fire type.
I feel like this is their "unorthodox" pokemon pick. I'd much rather see Chandelure than any of the other object-based Pokemon.
hopefully, but Gengar likely wouldve been top 5 or 10 in NA + EU polls as well
that thing is popular as fuck here almost 20 years later and is one of the handful that even normies can probably mention by name
>no special abilities
Nigga she can fucking FLY.
Really? Because Bellossom was a waste of a Pokedex slot and completely inferior to its Kanto counterpart, like virtually every gen 2 Pokemon. Lilligant actually does something unique and has a better design to boot.
You know, I'd have to REALLY get a good look at its moveset before really judging it. I just hope you understand where I'm coming from.
It's a floating chandelier. My imagination can't really do much with that aside from projectiles. That doesn't seem interesting at all, in my opinion. I think the roster for Pokken has been pretty fucking cool, so I hope I can be convinced otherwise.
>Japan liked Samurott more than Dewott
As much as I like chandelure, how the fuck is it even going to work in a game like pokken?
>mfw literally my favorite Pokémon Besides Duskull, and Trevenant
Give me your friend code
>mfw this semi-realistic artstyle
it works really well for Garchomp and Chandelure, but some like Lucario look bizarre
i dont know
That alone isn't what did it. It's more that Zoroark isn't strong enough to be worth running in the first place on a lot of high-end teams. Forcing the gimmick just makes it harder.
But they didn't take away her guns? Hello? Besides Bayonetta is a unique fighter even without them, and that's not really an apt comparison anyway because Zoroark's trait is a lot more abstract than simple weapons.
>This announce means there are 4 fire types
>Fire types have more representatives than needed
>Fire types are the Fire Emblem of smash
It fits so well. I'm not complaining but holy shit this is funny.
>like spinning around
That's top tier, m8. But in all seriousness, projectiles and traps are all I can imagine.
I want my goddamn Pokemon Batman.
>The ONLY limits remaining are Support Pokemon, and special cases like Magnemite, who was disqualified from entering the game after winning first place in a popularity contest in Japan because they couldn't think of a moveset for him
What. This actually happened? Magnemite is actually popular in Japan? Is this some foreign meme I'm not aware of?
Nigga everyone was saying she's was a never ever because without her guns she was nothing, and if you said that shit people would destroy you with "delusional bayofag" since her trait IS her guns
Like i said, too negative friend.
Gengar's inclusion was a result of a popularity contest asking nippons to suggest Pokemon to get into the game, think like the Smash ballot but actually real and not rigged.
Magnemite won but the developers stated they couldn't think of a moveset, Gengar placed second so they chose him in the end.
Not him but Zoroark's illusions aren't physical, they couldn't be for attacks. Maybe they'd work for maybe dodge and counter attacks, but other then that it wouldn't work. And taking away what makes it unique would suck.
In BW2, they used Magnemite to mass trade on GTS to build up Join Avenue which grows the more different people you trade with. The two reasons were one, a pun on its Japanese name "Coil" in that it would be a "coil" that connected everyone, and two, because it was a fairly early encounter.
It's basically been a mememon over there since then.
magnemite is japan's own shitpost pokemon, sorta like how slowpoke/magikarp/mudkip are ours
>your favorite will never EVER be playable
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
actually really glad to see non-bipedal pokemon that aren't really easy and obvious for a fighting game make it in
>People just now waking up to the memo that Fire type pokemon are incredibly well liked all over the world and across a variety of demographics
Those people are also idiots. No one ever said that Smash fans were in possession of great intellect. She's not even the only character in Smash to have used fire arms, that's a stupid assumption to make. Zoroark's illusions are not physical, they aren't attributes that it mimics. It ONLY takes on the appearance of other pokemon, beyond that it's just a random hexing, fire breathing monster. They would have to get real creative to preserve that trait.
They don't have to be physical they can be used for other purposes, possibly making illusions of himself or some shit.
What I know is that uniqueness can still be preserved, bayonetta guys said they'd take her guns away because "M rated" and comparing her to dante
Creative liberties exist, the only thing that would hold him back is if they simply did not want to make it or the wii u for whatever reason can't handle it
Someone post the discography.
Chandelure is an acceptable alternative, though.
Remove T W O characters from the roster.
Add O N E.
Base it on misdirection, her night daze, flame thrower and dark pulse can all have similar start ups and different trajectories as to confuse the enemy.
She can use sucker punch/substitute by turning into a horrfying apparition, she can also leap forward suddenly this allows combos but can leave her open if she misses.
She's low defense high speed, basically sonic meets yoshimitsu
This pokemon feels line it's going to be what petshop was in the JJBA Capcom fighter.
oh shit, forgot him and FREEDOM BIRD
speaking of which, we needs some fuckin' Flying types in this bitch. pic related.
>Two of my ghost-type niggas get in
Who /maininggengar/ here?
I can't believe we've got almost the entire roster now. I know they're still technically testing the waters and shit but my inner pokefag just demands more and more
>No Moves Murrica Bird
>Ever implying Mandibuzz isn't the better choice
>half of all fire starter lines see representation
>pic related's line gets nothing, not even a fucking background appearance
Best I can hope for is a Cyndaquil/Quilava assist
Brixian and lucha pikachu
got u senpai
>think like the Smash ballot but actually real and not rigged.
Take this screen and add Sceptile, both Mewtwos, Garchomp, Braixen, and Chandelure.
Four slots remaining.
>Braviary nowhere on the list
dem japs can't appreciate FREEDOM
Isn't it unfair to put a magical fox in a fighting game?
>Gengar, Lucario, and Gardevoir are three of my favorites
>They'll always get special treatment
There is no better feeling
So we can get anyone huh?
Id like Victreebel tbqh
>Pokemon Fighter has gone complete Smash Bros with its character selection process
What are you stupid?
Someone trying to defend Zoroark that hard clearly has them as their waifu or something. Your not that great of a detective. Probably the same guy that comes in these threads and posts Zoroark lewds
>mfw maining Blaziken/Farfetch'd bro team till the end of days
So we all agree he's in right?
Now that Background Pokes can be added
>not robot ghost
>you will never get to literally trash your opponents in Pokken
Man I'm all for that kind of thing sure, but be more subtle about it please. I don't even know of Zoroark is capable of creating illusions beyond altering its appearance.
Also nothing about that sounds like Yoshimitsu at all.
t.Someone that actually plays Tekken and Soulcalibur.
If he does it's very slim seeing as how he didn't score too high on the poll
How was it rigged when it was stated from the beginning that the poll is to gauge popularity, not to decide the winner? He could have said Bayonetta only got 3 votes worldwide and it wouldn't matter, it's who they chose.
You know what im most sad about
This game will probably sell more then Tekken 7
Heracross, Hawlucha, Greninja, Primeape
>Would also accept
Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Greninja, and some other random 4th one
>Probably gonna get
Greninja, and three Pokemon I don't give a shit about
Chandelure is sweet, though
We don't really need more Fire-types, but it's nice to imagine
They weren't kidding when they said it was out of left field.
He has a chance right? Even if poliwrath got in I would think it was cool but poliwhirl is better.
You are an idiot
That's straight up false, not to mention that 7 is doing away with bounds (which was the main thing I hated in 6 onward).
One of my top 3 made it.
I was hoping for
in that order
>hating on the best type
Do you have water on the brain?
I DO have water on my brain anon.
It would be weird if I didn't.
Personally I want Scyther, but Heracross would be sweet.
I get that they're aiming for variety here, but there are so many more unique choices available that also manage to fit in in a fighting game. Golem, Mr Mime, Magmortar, Bisharp are just few of those I can think of off the top of my head.
>How would I imagine this thing fighting a Machamp?
I dunno. I sure someone who has played the games with them would know. They could simulate that battle right now, just turn based instead of real time action.
>forgetting Miensha, Scolipede, and Galvantula, among others
Dude, all Pokemon can fight. Thats sort of what Pokemon is about.
daily reminder that Chandelure can make a ^_^ face
>you either have no water in your brain or have too much.
Anon, you can speak in as many big words as you like but brains need water.
Admit your insult sucked and call it a night.
But Anon, he already IS playable.
Oh fuck how did I forget Galvantula? That nigga was a cornerstone on my team.
Scolipede's cool too
But do we really NEED all types to be represented in the game?
It could just be like >>323974717 said, a silly meme/pattern that the devs don't give a shit about.
Well, seems I AM retarded.
I've never once heard it called that, so when you said "water on the brain" I assumed you meant "water on your brain" and not a stupid ass nickname.
>liking the one pokemon that is somehow more bland looking than its real life counterpart
will there be shadow version of every character?
> I never understood the hatred of object based pokemon.
Has little to do with the fact that they're based on an object and everything to do with how that concept is executed.
The Vanillish line just looks fucking stupid and uninspired regardless of what it's based on.
>think like the Smash ballot but actually real and not rigged.
>it didn't follow my fan poll based on 1000 votes and who's vocal in my community so it must be rigged!
I fucking love Typhlosion.
I'm not even sure what made me like him so much to consider him my favorite.
>all the gen 5 dragons
Eh, Relicanth isn't so bad. You could do a lot worse considering how bloated the Water type is.
You do not want to switch Chandelure into Machamp unless you're 100% positive it's locked into a fighting-type move. Stone Edge is a OHKO on the most common Chandelure sets and I'm not sure if Chandelure gets a guaranteed OHKO on Machamp without choice specs or being passed boosts. If Machamp has Guts a burn won't do shit either, and you can often switch Machamo into Chandelure when you predict Will-o-wisp to get a free attack boost and scare it off.
Actually, they literally stated that Bayonetta was the overall #1 choice worldwide among realizable characters. So you're misinformed. We just don't specifically know what "realizable" means.
>An ice cream cone
>An ice cream cone with two heads
>An ice cream cone with two heads AND A STRAW!
The straw fucking kills it for me. Come on, GF, you did the
>One head, two heads, three heads, four!
shit in Gen. I to death already.
A lot of other Pokemon based on objects look like they could be existing, believable animals within the context of the game, even if they do not have natural origins, like Grimer or Trubbish. Vanillux just looks like an actual ice cream cone with a face and a fucking straw stuck in it.
Looks like you missed the idea then.
It's not uninspired because there's more to it than just that. But I'm not sure if I should explain why since you're already dead-set on turning down on the Pokemon.
We can assume it means characters they could actually put in the game without shelling out to license the character. Even though Snake was in Brawl, that was likely a one-time deal, they'd have to pay to license the character again. Stupid shit like Goku and Shrek that likely topped the polls are obviously not feasible either for the same reasons.
>We can assume it means characters they could actually put in the game without shelling out to license the character
I'm not saying that that's what they wanted you to think.
But that's what they wanted you to think. It doesn't just mean Goku and Shrek, it means anyone popular that they didn't feel like doing.
What am I misinformed about? I'm well aware of what was said, I'm telling you it doesn't matter. Bayonetta was chosen regardless.
Realizable is pretty simple in what it means. Getting the rights to use the character and having them fit.
The poll was never the deciding factor, whether she was number 1 or 1 million doesn't matter. Everyone who wasn't a moron already knew this was the case. So you getting butthurt over him saying she was number 1 makes no difference, that wasn't even the point of the poll. Top votes did not equal getting in, either way. There was nothing to rig.
