A lot of the quirks and humor of the game would really only be appreciated by someone who plays video games.

Well there's the genocide run which has two really cool boss fights. Overall though it has fantastic music, neat gameplay mechanics, charming writing, and it's just ten bucks.

It's not exactly a huge investment if you don't like it. I believe it has a demo if you wanna just see if it's something you'd be interested in though.

Well there's a genocide run. It's okay, but worth it if you enjoy the gameplay. It's a fun twist on the bullet hell genre that will keep you interested by adding new rules /mechanics as you progress and it's pretty short. Story isn't bad; it's like Devil May Cry 3 where it's nothing particularly revolutionary or impressive, but stands out as solidly done.

Fun but not Touhou level bullet hells. Charming characters, a compelling story. And the atmosphere completely changing based on your decisions. It's also colorful and unique, which a lot of 2D indie games fall flat on.

I bought it two days ago. I'm really taking my time with it now, don't want it to end. I knew that they assigned a big deal to doing a pacifist run, but holy shit does the game twist the knife on you for the seemingly smallest decisions.

I wouldn't say that. Like, you fight those Dog Knights, and I spared almost all of them except the pair that fight you, because their deliberately unavoidable double axe attack pissed me off. Killed them both, carried on feeling like a badass.

Short while later I saw the Dog Knights gathered together in a diner, complaining they couldn't get a card game going, and wondered where their friends were.

Pretty low key shit.

Now, if you killed Papyrus, the game turns into a depressing guilt trip.

If the player resets from a save point after hearing his speech, Sans judges the protagonist based on how high their LV is:

If the protagonist is at LV 1 (but has more than 0 EXP), Sans presumes that they killed someone just to see what he'd say about it. He says "wow. you're a pretty gross person, huh?"

If the protagonist is at LV 2, Sans says that it's pretty sad that the protagonist messed up the slightest amount, and that they probably didn't know what they were doing, but then says that he's kidding, stating: "who gets to LV 2 on accident? get outta here."

If the protagonist is at LV 3, Sans gives the protagonist a C+, and tells the protagonist that they can do better.

If the protagonist is above LV 3, Sans says that they probably killed some people on purpose, though maybe some of it was in self defense, and that he's not sure, as he wasn't watching.
