Should i do it /v/?
I already beat the collector and the mission
Long Level 3 but everyone on my team is level 4 except my GR
>have they fixed how fucking ridiculously shitty the RNG is yet?
get a load of this guy
I'm afraid my GR is gonna die.
I was training this one to go up agains the prophet since my last GR riped.
THAT BH CARRIED SO MANY TEAMS
AND THAT GR WAS MY LAST ONE
NOW I HAVE TO WAIT A 100 YEARS FOR A NEW ONE
GOD FUCKING SHIT
>Complete the game on NG+
>How many teams could he have possibly carried at level 4?
To fucking many
He was always the last one to break and when he finally did he got powerful of some shit
I fucking loved that BH
i didn't even get a head form the collector so yes i got shit
from dd's lelddit
So yup! I was wrong. Some of the achievements will be retroactive. During my playtesting last night I popped a bunch just by logging in. Not all will be, but looks like a good handful will be." - redhookjohn
>been playing really safe just doing level 1 missions.
>Get all nice level 2 dudes with level 2 armor and level 3 skills.
>try a level 2 dungeon
>first encounter rekts my shit
I wish I could refund.
>Decide to take my level three abomination along in a long veteran dungeon
>Don't really optimise my camping skills so I end up doing nothing except buffing him
>Literally just oneshotting the front two ranks of every fight after that with +84% damage, +10 ACC and +3% crit
He's prolly gonna get nerfed
>Fighting the collector for the first time (unspoiled)
>Manage to eke out a victory without losing anyone, barely. Dismas defied death twice in a row
>Dismas ends fight on Death's Door with a 4 round bleed and I'm out of bandages
>But I got lots of food, a log for a campfire, and the next room is empty
>I'll just feed him some food after every bleed tick and then camp
>One square from door, Dismas is full and refuses to eat
>MFW for the next 15 minutes as I try to figure out whether or not I'm close enough to make camp without bleed going off again
On that note, does each square on the map count as one turn or something? After that I figure this might be an important thing to know
>try first boss
survived with 2 hp, dayum
They're doing a community stream right now if you guys are interested.
holy shit stop fucking playing this game. Houndmaster and crusader are literally the only two characters that can be slotted into any party at all and be great.
No, they didn't change percentages
>I was told to leave him alone
>So instead I guzzled a mighty fine horse cock and did the opposite
Learn how to properly prepare, make teams that make sense with an area, and risk reduction.
Currently, plowing through so many medium-long levels, and bosses, that the only time my guys get significantly stressed is when it's a suicide squad.
>Wrestle me. I crave an easy victory (grin).
How the fuck do I deal with the Cove? Every enemy does too much damage, has too much health, has too much resistance to everything.
Following up on OP question. how the fuck do you beat the shambler at level 3 or above?
i have only done it once and i feel like RNG was on my side in that match of once.
The spearfish are the fucking worst. Blight is really good at taking them out, and they are vulnerable to stuns.
Currently I try to handle the situation as jellyfish > bloatedguy > spearfish > shamanfish >= tankfish
Leper buff when?
Also, having some banter with the crusader is a missed opportunity.
Stun fucking everything. They all have insanely low stun resist.
You're gonna want to keep shield fish stunned while you kill everything else, wipe out the priests if you're not gonna be oneshotting most of the other guys. Almost always deal with the thralls before anything else. Jellys have annoying stuns but are super squisy and can be wiped out pretty easily with collateral damage or just one shot. Snails aren't a threat but their debuff lasts forever so if you have some way to kill them really fast I'd advise you use it.
If you suffer a heart attack while you have at least 1 health, you are immediately dropped to Death's Door and your stress is reduced to 160. If your stress gets back up to 200 while a character is at Death's door, they die.
>A lawman and his faithful beast. A bond forged by battle and bloodshed.
His raw damage isn't THAT good. Okay, he can torch up for you, heal people slightly okay, and heal stress. If you're relying upon your 1 to be in a purely support role damn
Better to just take a jester in his place then, better stress healing and more nuking damage
So basically they just made heart attacks impossible to disable, and threw in a bullshit change to justify it.
Seriously, if a character drops at death's door, he's very unlikely to escape it. And at that point, eating a crit basically guarantees death
Why does Red Hook keep focusing on fixing what ain't broke instead of making the game less of an uncontrollable RNG fest ?
Is there any release date for the full game?
I played 30 hours back when it had just come out in Early Access, but now I'd rather restart with the actual, complete game
Returning player here, only started playing again a week or so ago again after not touching the game since last May.
Are there whispers of a slight rebuff to the Highwayman on patch day/soon? I mean yeah he was absurd the last time I played once you got good items for him but I think they went too far the other way.
Grave Robber, who used to be completely underwhelming, has pretty much traded places with him. Even Thrown Dagger outperforms Pistol Shot completely
This game was made for people that submit to the higher powers of the RNGods, asking for anything else is pointless. besides, I think the Hear t attack change was fair. You have to take a pretty big risk to get to 200 stress anyways, and now it's not even fatal necessarily.
Im definitely not saying hes bad, hes just not THAT good to put in every line up. He's an above average character sure, is an always take through ruins, but not an always take everywhere
>Start jester in back
>has high natural speed, will probably be the first to act
>he solos forward debuffing enemies
>his next turn comes up quick as fug
>nukes someone for you
>stress heals in the back as needed
>buffs if you dont need the stress heals
>solos back forward before speed buff wears off
I love how this game pisses off the casuals so much. Corpses are an excellent balancing mechanic for overused/simple teams and heart attacks bring more drama to the whole stress system.
Personally i wish they added a mechanic where if a party member got critted by an enemy while on deaths door it would kill them regardless.
Say that to my face during the turkish invasion and not during prayer hours
Cool. I hope the occultist/bounty hunter combo is still as strong as I remember it to be
severely reduced price. It'll note how much those items are worth reselling in the dungeon. So if you buy too much, you wasted money. If you bought too little, bad things can happen.
I feel the same, the guy was too cheasy with dmg trinkets and spamming grapeshots all day long but now his damage is horribly lacking. It's not only grapeshot nerf that hit him but an overal inclusion of enemies with prot that fucks him up royally so he does no damage and his weak bleed won't save the day with -dmg and point blank shot, although was maybe in the chese cathegory, was shitted on since you face a high prot frontier most of the time who takes little damage from it. The worst part tho is his pistol shot, its arguably his main skill and it feels like it was dmg nerfed as well, or maybe it's just that prot enemies don't care about at all since its also a -25% dmg modifier. He has some mele utility but it doesn't compensate for his low damage. I think it would be nice if they gave his pistol skill an ability to ignore prot, like point blank shot ignoring half of it or all of it but maybe giving a speed penalty or inability to use it/pistol skills cus it's cooling down or some shit so people won't spam it and a small prot ignore on pistol shot or a -10dmg modifier instead, there is not many ways to get around prot besides dots and HM mark anyway.
Have any of you tried running a 4 Grave Robber team? Shit's cash.
>stun that also stacks dodge like fuck
>40% bonus damage skill is now spammable
>ranged attack that boost ACC even if you miss
>doesn't give a shit about shuffles
How else are you going to reliably farm shamblers?
>only using 3x GR
You did something wrong there, anon.
For harder dungeons, stack the fuck out of holy waters. If you can resist the DOTs, you've won half the battle considering you should be able to one-shot his summons
>just started playing the game a couple of days ago
>fighting the Apprentice Necromancer earlier with a party of Hellion, Highwayman, Hound Master and Vestal
>everything is going horribly for the first few turns
>over the course of the battle 3 of my 4 party members resolve is tested
>they all become Vigorous
>"how quickly the tide turns"
>proceed to completely destroy his punk ass
This game is fucking exhilarating, holy shit
>tfw bringing an Abom for that fight
>just spam Rake every turn
>skellies evaporating Necro taking huge damage
They're gonna nerf him arent they
>having that much problems with the apprentice necromancer
>Not just relegating your party to stacking dots on the necro
>aoeing down the live creatures
I had crusader spamming his 1+2 hit, bounty+plague doc stacking up that bleed+blight (cant remember which though), once 2 skeleteons were in place, my plague doc shuffled corpses. I thought the fight was way too easy
About to take on Necromancer. Is this a good team? Everyone is moderately upgraded and trinketed up.
Arbalest l Houndmaster l Crusader l Hellion
I can't stand to lose these guys and I want to make sure I can handle it. Last time I went I got my ass raped. I'm thinking about raising up a Healer and Plague doctor to replace Hound and Arb.
I fucking don't hope so
I just learned to play him right
We need more shitty mspaint guides
I only faced him once and I was pretty beat up from just getting to him so all my guys but one died and I retreated. The wood guy boss kicked my shit first time but I came back and destroyed him.
Great in the Ruins and Cove, due to those areas having enemies that are vulnerable to blight. Also, her blight is probably the best DoT in the game, as that damage can get stupidly high. Battlefield medicine is good if you need to clear DoT on your own guys, and the stun she has a great backrow stun.
I would have to say that the PD is one of my favorite characters in the game.
>stopped playing the game before they introduced the Man at Arms and the other classes since i had already cleared all the bosses on Hard
how much has the game changed? I was just gonna wait til full release to start up a new save file
hearing all this stuff about heart attacks and corpses and stuff and i'm getting confused
Leper is my favourite character purely because of the animation when he gets hit.
My Leper got stressed to fuck, I sent him to flagellate and then he went off on some personal quest when I came back. Next I saw him he has 4 positive traits and no negative, fucking love the guy.
Leper is such a Bro-Tier guy. Throw on enough armor to have to carry a Licence dictating him as a light Truck, then use all your remaining strength of every swing of your fuck-off huge sword because life sucks but maybe you can crush some skellies before you hit the dirt.
Lets also add, what does the Vestal do in the brothel? I bet it's super lewd as fuck
Cuddling. Someone draw this sick shit. Bonus points if she has super smooth and shaved legs.
Don't listen to this faggot >>323960826
The corpse mechanic just makes some classes more useful and requires you to think a lil more about party comp before hand. Honestly I can remember maybe 3 times where corpses were causing me any grief.
As far as the heart attacks, more or less you die instantly if you reach 200 stress. If you're even hitting 100 stress to begin with you're doing something wrong. Haven't had a single heart attack since I started playing.
Also there's a load of class buffs/nerfs making the game more interesting to play imo.
I never realized that the Vestal is actually a pretty good offensive character, along with being a healer. Also, all of mine seem to be able to do a stupid amount of critical hits.
Any sad stories, anons?
>started a new game
>dark run the tutorial for easy deeds
>gets surprised in the last battled, Dismas to the front
>big guy straight up blasted his ass with a 22 damage crit point blank shot
>Dismas dies next round
>Reynauld somehow salvages the fight
Had to sit for a couple of minutes before continuing to play.
>all of his guys are filled with diseases and negative quirks
>a lot of them are even missing trinkets despite being level 5 - 6
If one of your heroes gets a deathblow in a fight or to a trap you have to quickly alt+f4
depending on whose turn they died on, there's a chance that, when you reload, the hero will be "glitched" out, as in, they won't have a healthbar and won't be able to take action. If it's their turn they will instantly die.
If it's not then you have to hope you can retreat the fight and cancel the quest. You'll fail the quest but the hero will still be alive
This worked a couple of version ago and I haven't played for a few months so I'm not sure if it's still possible
>You shall suffer as I have!
Hey, I'm interested in this game, but I think I would have more fun on PS4, so I'm not sure if I want to get it now or otherwise.
Are the PC controls good? Is there controller support? When should I buy this?
They are just random drops in pitch black, they are actually some of the best trinkets you can get. I have one that gives -25% stress damage, and one that gives bonus hp and dodge at the cost of -2 accuracy
>Only one GR on my roster and i'm learning to love the one I have, got her to lvl 4.
>GR gets crit by baddie
>Due to trinkets GR and occulist have the same speed
>GR goes first
>Bleeds out like a bitch
RIP Kurma Satra
I got mine in pitch black,i just assumed since it's very rare that it only drops in pitch black.
I don't really do pitch black runs anymore, radiant light runs in long champion dungeons get you enough loot
Having only two at the next level tier is rather redundant, as you have to wait for more to hit Level 3 to do more quests with them. Unless they're strong enough to carry a bunch of low level heroes.
lethalfrag is getting fucked by a collector as we speak
That composition can work, but it will take at least 30 years for them to whittle the pews down enough. I think he's gonna keep debuffing the prophet to lower his damage and use the MAA to defend the character that gets marked for the rubble
The major problem I see is the prophet blighting his team, plus the stress damage. Plus if it marks both the MAA someone else for rubble, it will hit both. And that will suck major dick if it still deals tons of damage
my party was at full hp when i got in there
>characters can miss a giant wooden bench
>bench could also dodge out of the way
Just watched the replay,he got cocky at the end and stopping stacking the debuff. Was a good watch though,I wasn't really fond of his trinket choices on the leper and crusader though. ledgendary bracer isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be
People can miss a lot of things that should be easy to hit.
how about you search it and/or read attack descriptions you idiot.
I was joking the second time. I figured "Extra dmg vs marked" was separate from the extra I the extra damage I thought you did when an enemy was marked.
Thanks for the
just played for a few hours. Lost my first group to a shambler after sticking a torch on an evil altar like a fucking idiot. Then I lost three times, now I've got a full roster and about 5 wins under my belt. Shits fun
Can someone explain how the abomination is different from the Leper, and what advantages the Leper holds being in your party? He's my favorite character and I want to know if he is still viable.
CONTINUE THE ONSLAUGHT
DESTROY THEM ALL
I haven't played since EA started, is dankest dungeon still a meme?
I hope not.
>Press this advantage, give them no quarter!
>start new save to be ready for release
>finish 5 missions
>feeling kinda bored
fuck me, I guess I played this game too much before release.
>every hero that dies becomes one of those monsters
>yfw you finish a dungeon with all inventory slots covered in valuables and everyone has 10 stress at max
looks like if i buy it now it will be cheaper than if i wait till the 19th but i just wanna make sure i wont be missing any early game changes/would rather wait a few days if gameplay is gonna change much
the only thing you'll be missing on is some balance changes, the last dungeon(which seems to be endgame content anyway) and whatever stuff is so unimportant they didn't even hype it.
Since it takes a lot of missions to finish the game, you can start now and not miss anything important when the game comes out.
>badmouthing the Jester's buffs
Nigger, I don't have to use Abom's red trinket thanks to him, not to mention Battle Ballad giving speed, accuracy, and crit. I can go dark at champion level thanks to this composition.
>He doesn't like Jester
I bet you use Arbalest, faggot.
hey, don't shit on the arbalest.
does this make the game cancer?
>Arbalest shows up on the wagon
>"ok I guess"
>has Lazy Eye quirk
>first GR that popped up in the wagon had Eagle Eye and Unerring
>mfw i got one fresh off the wagon with eagle eye and unerring
>PD is virtuous 4 TIMES IN A ROW
NOT THIS ONE, NOT TODAY.
Don't play shit games if you can't handle being triggered by people dissing your shit games, kid. It's that simple. Now go cry to your mommy because someone on the internet hurt your little baby feelings, idiot.
>get home form mission
>excitedto see what's in the waggon today
>3 fucking arbalest
>crack open that wagon
CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY
So is the darkest dungeon going to be anything special?
Or is it going to be the exact same as the other ones where you beat the same 4 missions until you can kill the boss
>Just lost Dismas 22 weeks in to an Arterial Pinch after camping and with no bandages left
I wasn't ready
Reynauld lost his bro
>tfw no Gladiator class with a gladius, trident, net, and
I tried to imagine a pike class, but jeez that would be much easier to make.
>long lost duelist from the east
>exiled from homeland
>will wrestle his teammates at camp giving them a shared stress resistance buff
Plague doctor and vestal in the back and get duelists advance on Dismas so Reynauld can use holy lance reliably.
Not the best party but it should be good enough to get your through most dungeons
Bolbec (which for the longest time I thought was spelled Bolbee) ran off on a spiritual journey
>drunken brawler with a club/craftsman hammer
>various blunt attacks that can stun or debuff prot
>bonus damage against stunned, bleeding or otherwise weakened enemies
>throw empty bottle for range and bleed
>bottoms up self buff that heals and increases attack but reduces accuracy
He's a fucking faggot, but might as well be a cultural icon
the fuck happened to highway man?
he used too be the best damage dealer
Hes still somewhat good, but mostly everyone just used him for his AoE with the broken AoE damage calcs.
Once that was fixed his single target damage didnt stack up as well vs the other champions. And his best single target damage targets the worst monster to take out first.
Been playing fr months and I just noticed the Bounty Hunter has a bunch of Mortal Kombat references.
>probably coincidence Scorpion also uses an axe in UMK3
