Nothing really. I like that roster a lot for what's there. I don't see anything wrong with it other than than the potential Pokemon that arent there. Greninja, Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, Sableye, Infernape and Scizor would have been good.
Who supports this company in this day and age?
Guess what, to celebrate the 20th anniversary they're honoring fans by re-releasing the same Pokemon Amiibos. Yay!
Why do so many people care about the Hitmons? They are generic Pokémon with one sole gimmick. What we need are birds (Talonflame), spider-like Pokémon (Metagross) and more quadrupeds like Suicune.
Reserving full judgment for after it's confirmed we've got the entire roster, but right now the only real issue is that we got Pikachu Libre over Hawlucha. Shadow Mewtwo's going to be boss-only, and if he was in without Mewtwo being playable you'd all bitch and moan about the opportunity being wasted.
You're right. If people are salty about working on it, there's really only a small handful that send older fans in a furious rage
Then why have Pikachu at all? It has no place fighting much stronger mons. Literally the only reason it is there at all is fan service, but I just can't even believe that anyone cares about Pikachu anymore.
>tfw no Heracross, Marowak, Sandslash or Hitmonchan
Everything went right
It's weird how hard they're pushing it. It wasn't even popular during when Ash had it as his ace.
pic related would be a better grass starter rep
>Pikachu will get a mega-evolution before Raichu does
>eventually Raichu will just be dropped from the games altogether an forgotten about
What a depressing existence. Raichu is my favorite Pokemon too.
>There's finally a middle evo other than Pikachu that isn't overshadowed by its first and final forms
Nothing went wrong.
Absolutely this. Gengar is going to be flopping around with his stubby little arms and legs, when they could have put Haunter, who has giant hands literally designed for punches.
>mfw Haunterfags were so salty at Gengar's reveal
Should be at least one of every type ideally, but they're already doubling up, tripling in Fire's case. And somehow none of those fire types are the one based on a pro wrestler.
How the fuck isn't there a single rock or ground type yet?
Needs a flying type (Charizard doesn't count) for crazy aerial combo move set, a Poison type (That blue frog one being ideal. Crogunk?), one of the huge bugs which isn't Genesect, and an Ice type of some kind. Oh and Mawile to be the Steel.
Add Ursaring as a much needed bear that can also cover Normals. How the fuck can the Tekken team make a game without a bear?
Type isn't important here.
Fire and Fighting both have three Pokemon, but Blaziken overlaps between the two, and the three Fire-types all have different playstyles.
Charizard - Slow powerhouse
Blaziken - All-around fighter
Braixen - Long-range specialist
I'm not, I just want to make the post. I love all three phoxes.
I know people who thought Delphox should have gotten in, though.
Why the fuck doesn't Charizard count as a flying type? It flies; it can even fly in the game. If you want to complain about anything, complain about how Lucario is bogarting Steel type or Gengar is wasting Poison type.
I was thinking on an other scale entirely but yeah that could work.
If you just walked around a mall and asked a bunch of normies to name as many Pokemon as they could, I guarantee Blastoise and Venusaur come up more than 90% of the Pokemon in OP's image
>Swampert gets in
>best Hoenn starter is hated for being in the game just because Blaziken and Scepticshit are also in
>Swampert doesn't get in
>LOL SWAMPERTFAGS BTFOOOOOOOOO
Dude, you gotta promise.
If Swampert gets in, you have to post that you were wrong and stupid, and how salty you are and how you got BTFO.
I swear to god I'll do the same if he isn't in.
>thought things were going to get interesting after gengar announced
>all they added was two clones like this was Melee, plus some trashmons
well they can't take back gengar at least
>Hydreigon fighter with Sylveon support
What's the cutest Pokemon on the roster?
It's true though
Plus they hinted in Corocoro that Mewtwo will transform into Mega Mewtwo Y, while Shadow Mewtwo turns into Mega Mewtwo X.
I can't see regular Mewtwo doing this Frieza Death Ball thing that Shadow Mewtwo does.
You posted her.
Garchomp strong second.
>New fighter revealed
>It's pic related
How would you feel?
>Only two martial arts based pokemon
This is perfectly fine.
What kind of idiot wanted a Pokemon game filled with nothing but Fighting types?
That said, too many human-type pokemon in the roster, so it's definitely not an ideal roster.
Translation from Adamant on /vp/:
>A multitude of new fighters!!
>The WiiU version of "Pokkén" has a premonition of fierce fighting! This time we will reveal three new Pokémon that will join the fight!!
>They can all be used in the WiiU version!!
>New: GABLIAS (Garchomp)
>A Pokémon this magazine really likes as well. It viciously attacks with "Sand Tomb"!
>Its battle style is "Power"!
>It assaults the opponent from the air with "Dragon Rush"!
>You can play as this ultimate-class legendary Pokémon as well! It can turn into that form with "Resonance Burst"!
>New: TAIRENAR (Braixen)
>While it's indeed cute, you'll get burned if you let your guard down!
>It specializes in a long-range fighting style with moves like "Fire Blast"!?
By "that form", they're referring to Mega Mewtwo Y. It's the form that gets more attention, like Charizard X gets more attention than Charizard Y.
It doesn't make me salty, but i want him BECAUSE it would literally make /v/ and /vp/ explode with rage.
There are more non-humanoids than humanoids than humanoids on the roster
I want him. He has a mechanic where you Harden to stall for time as he prepares to evolve into Butterfree, and once that timer runs out, you regain all your health and fight the rest of the match as Butterfree
THERE ARE GOOD POKES OUT THERE
WHY MORE FURSHIT
So you haven't played Pokemon lately, have you?
I want it to be Kingler.
So far hints are it has RA in it. Check.
It makes people salty. Given the team's previous choices make me think they're poke furfags I feel like this one would. So check.
And then the sceptile reveal was associated with green and red. This one is orange and blue. Blue for water type. Kingler is orange. So there's another check there.
Oh, okay. I don't play TCG.
It doesn't play anything like Tekken. Buttons aren't linked to limbs. One of the main features is switching between 2D and 3D planes, as well.
It's just odd as Greninja is a media darling, and Braxien is a fighter and Frograider as a support that they snubbed two final forms for 2 of the Kalos starters.
>Pokedex entry: When it folds up its body and extends its wings, it looks like a jet plane. It flies at sonic speed.
>Anime shows it flying as described above
Garchomp can fly, anon. His thing is that he's a dragon-shark-jet plane.
This is Serena's normal getup, there was some Halloween festival where all the Trainers dressed up as different Pokemon. I could have sworn there was an early season Pokemon episode similar to it.
For a pokemon fighting game, the following pokemon being missing seems wrong
Hitmonchan - Literally a boxing pokemon
Hitmonlee - If Hitmonchan was in, it would have only been right to have both in
Hawlucha - Aerial suplexes. The concept alone seems fun enough to include in.
Scizor - A quick and sturdy bug to keep the competition guessing when approaches are safe, this bug/steel fighter is a no-brainer.
Rhyperior - While not an easily recognizable character, the speed and strength this pokemon can utilize makes him a great combatant.
In addition, these pokemon could have made the roster and it would have been sensible enough for a pass.
Gallade - Gardevoir is already there, gallade seems like a great fit alongside him.
Blastoise - There is bound to be ranged spam with Pikachu and Gardevoir in the mix, why not bring in the most sensible ranged attacker? Also, aerial hydro pump combos would be amazing.
Regigigas - Slow start would be an interesting gimmick to see on display here.
The reason a lot of the cast was chosen was because they were easily recognizable characters This isn't a bad choice, nintendo is probably hoping this game gets streamed, meaning they want flagship characters to be on display as often as possible.
Fennekin is also a support, so it doesn't really mean anything for Greninja.
If anything, Braixen destroys the only thing argument there was against Greninja being in.
I hope Zoroark makes it in!
>Tekken movesets being given to pokemon like EWGF going to Pikachu
>No Hitmontop Eddy/Christie
>No Golurk P.Jack
>No Kanghaskan Roger
>No Jun/Asuka Froslass
>No Slaking Miguel
No Charmander Gon
Man you Hitmon fags are the cancer of this game. No one fucking gives a shit about boxing and kicking when Pokemon that can do both and better are already in the game. Play a modden Tekken with Pokemon if you want them so much. They offer NO variety whatsoever. Maybe Hitmonlee. Maybe.
Blastoise is a dumb choice for ranged spam when there's already fucking Suicune.
Talking to people with bad taste isn't so bad. Living with it... I feel somewhat envious that you can just enjoy anything Game Freak pumps out without regard to whether the designs are objectively good, I suppose.
Bamco are known for putting literal clones in their fighting games. Pikachu libre and (I would assume seeing as he has stretchy ass limbs.) Shadow Mewtwo fight completely differently from their counterparts so how is this an issue? Pic related, an actual clone.
Zoroark is top-tier, but I hate the way illusion works in all the games. I never use her because of it.
Come on, be fucking fair. They realised the clone business was getting way out of hand after 3 and TTT so with 4 they tried to differentiate Kaz and Hei and gave Jin a totally new moveset, and stripped out all the other clones. Example, Lee is a Law clone, now he's totally different. The only time it's been an actual issue is TTT2 which is a dream match and they literally put every character in for fanservice, it wasn't taking anything away from the game since there was a good core roster already.
>model and code a pikachu libre with wrestling moves
I am legit ME3 ending levels of mad. I will never not be mad.
>that pokemon that would have made the roster for you if they had gotten in
What is their name, /v/?
>For a fucking Pokemon spin-off
Now that Sakurai's done with the game, you Smashfags have nothing better to do, I see.
Because the majority of them are already in.
Why do you want a shitty boring game instead of a Pokemon fighting game, anon?
>wow sweet this Pokemon can PUNCH and nothing else how awesome unique and original is that?
>wow this Pokemon can sumo it's totally worth having it despite bringing no originality whatsoever
The current roster, instead, has
>El Fuerte Pikachu
>Super-Fast-Punches, Guard Breaking, Grappler Machamp
>Half-flying flaming kickboxer Blaziken
>Ranged fireballs and flames, and flying moves in general + claws Charizard
>super fast ninja that uses leaf tornadoes and all other stuff Sceptile
>Whirpools, water and AURORA BEAM SPAM Suicune
>tricky son of a bitch which moves have no coordination whatsoever Gengar
>fast slasher with ranged moves that also leaves ice traps all over the ground Weavile
>psychic that uses mainly ranged moves and also has barriers and shit Gardevoir
>Mewtwo is probably going to be similar to Smash's and Origin's
>Braixen is a "magic" type character similar to Gardevoir
>if playable, Shadow Mewtwo already makes Hitmonlee worthless
I would love if they talked more about the development process of the first games over the next year.
I really want to know what 39 Pokemon were cut from Gen 1.
These are all really shitty and look nothing like new pokemon. The only one that looks fine is Mewtwo Y, which is hilarious because it shows that new pokemon look nothing like people claim.
Stop what? I'm just posting cute.
Here, a Pokemon that's in the game.
You are right and it was a bad example on my part. I understand, everyone wants their favorite monster in on the action but don't call out two characters just because they share a base model. So long as they have distinct changes to moves or styles of play it should be fine.
Plenty of Pokemon appeared in movies/anime before the game was released. Do you think they just sit on every design until release date? Ho Oh was in the anime long before Gen 2.
Are you and him trying to say that there are no good gen v pokemon? I mean, I know most are gen one ripoffs, but cmon.
I named her "Gnawly" because it combines Gnaw and Gnarly!
FE was supposed to release before Smash. It got delayed, but since they were being developed side by side, Smash cams out first.
It's probably the same with Ho-Oh and the anime. The anime had to be made alongside the game if they wanted to release them at the same time. Gamefreak probably showed them Ho-Oh as a legendary Pokemon at first, but later had to cut it and others due to cartridge memory issues.
We all know it's him and bamco is just cock teasing us but i really don't want another starter or the one chance cincinno, scolipede or
jynxhas to be in the game thrown away.
What Pikachu would you like to see added next?
It's my favorite, so if they somehow got in I'd go ballistic in joy.
WAIT BRAIXEN IS IN?
HOLY SHIT I WANTED HER IN SMASH AND SHE GOT IN HERE INSTEAD
THIS IS OK
If Sableye attacked and blocked with gems my dick would
Basically, yeah, it's meant to resemble a pair of shorts.
Lots of humanoid Pokemon are designed to look like they're wearing clothes, like how it was recently revealed that Machoke and Machamp aren't actually wearing briefs, and that the black area under their belts is actually their bare crotch.
Fire starters are the best. No way was fucking Charizard not getting in. Blaziken is one of the most popular fighting types. Braixen is there to rep Gen VI since Greninja is busy with Smash and Chesnaught is a boring piece of shit.
There is something to be said about fighting games and clone characters.
And, that's that they are bad and developers should feel bad for making them.
I rather like Zoro. Never felt like it got a fair shake.
Anon, we've still got 5 more to go before the character select screen is filled up.
The thing with Pika Libre is that it's not even a clone, it has a completely different moveset, which could have been given to a Pokémon that isn't just Pikachu in an alt costume.
>There is something to be said about fighting games and clone characters.
Took me a while to register that you added something after this bit as I was typing up a response about how annoying it is that people keep using this excuse.
>And, that's that they are bad and developers should feel bad for making them.
So seeing as it's a TEKKEN game (in a sense)
can we all agree that he should be the get in.
What's Tekken without a bear?
Nothing really went wrong. There aren't any surprises outside of Pikachu Libre and maybe Suicune (who still isn't all that outlandish a choice). All of these are pretty popular and well-liked Pokemon, and it's to be expected that more recognizable ones would get a shot.
People will complain but most people that like Pokemon are bloody idiots (WHERE'S MY HITMONCHAN, etc) so who gives a rat's ass. That said I have my doubts about the game being all that great but I would like to give it a shot at some point.
>two of my favourite Pokemon are Leavanny and Heatmor
>they will never get any attention
I kind of want Timburr, actually. A scrappy dude with a pompadour could be pretty cool.
It's true, anon
>Translation: “People think Machoke and Machamp are wearing underwear but the truth is that they’re not wearing anything at all. The part of its body that looks like underwear are really just markings. And besides, Pokémon don’t normally wear clothes in the first place. “They’re not wearing anything!!”“
That's only the Charizard. Which came from a "gen I Garchomp vs gen IV Charizard" picture.
The full compiled image always had gen V designs, hell many of the pictured ones weren't even made until gen VI.
>almost half the roster is gen1
>meanwhile gen5 has nothing
>braixen is only in instead of delphox because furbait
>everything but suicune is bipedal
>only popular pokemon get in, meaning unique pokemon aren't even considered
>multiplayer requires two different types of controllers
Destined to fail
It's got nothing to do with furbait, Anon.
People just really like Braixen. Delphox isn't liked as much because it lacks the whole "cute witch" look that Braixen has.
>Arceus' type change gimmick
Goes to show how much you actually know about Genesect
>Did someone edit this to say Gen V? This was mostly Gen IV's thing. Gen V had some designs like that but overall they went back to simpler and more cartoony designs.
Gen V designs aren't really that simple in regards of body pattern and has a lot of different patterns and colors, which started with gen III.
I do agree that they have very simple and cartoony body shapes though, but there in no "going back" there. Gen I is probably the generation with the most pokémon with defined musculature and hair tufts, despite many having bland palettes.
>>only popular pokemon get in, meaning unique pokemon aren't even considered
Why are popular and unique separate? Also good, that's better. If you really loved your unknown Pokemon, they wouldn't fucking be unknown in the first place.
>no Banchou Pokemon
Confirmed 100% not getting it.
Lucha Pikachu so I can Stone Cold Stunner all the rest of the cast
Gengar IS solid.
Gastly and Haunter are made of gas. The dex classifies them as the Gas Pokemon, and they both weigh 0.2 lbs.
Gengar is classified as the Shadow Pokemon and weighs 89 lbs. He's not made of gas, he's a solid living shadow.
How much I like Braixen in this will primarily be decided by whether its ear hair actually moves around or not. If it's completely rock solid I'm going to keep imagining it holding onto wheels with its arms and legs and someone riding on its back like it's a motorcycle with the ear hair as handlebars and the broom and stick as back support, and then I'm going to keep hearing Ultimate Muscle Roller Legend in my head.
>Lumping Hydreigon with that thing
I hope you get hit by a truck.
You are so fucking stupid. Bloating the game with fighting type pokemon, especially ones as unmemorable as Hitmons is just about the dumbest thing they could have done regarding this game. Why can't Pokemon fans have some goddamn sense for once?
>I like X but am too much of a retard to appreciate the main thing they bring to the table
He's a shadow. He should have either been slightly transparent except for his eyes, or he should have just been a matte texture if he's the kind of "dark void" shadow that absorbs all light.
Other then Pikachu Libre and Shadow mewtwo it's a fantastic roster with a lot of variety (it could have just been bipedal mons with mostly fighting types which would suck) and a lot of fan favorites.
>What kind of idiot wanted a Pokemon game filled with nothing but Fighting types?
More then you'd think, sadly.
>Why would only one person predict him when the other two Hoenn starters are in?
It's possible that unliike us, they weren't giiven a hint.
>evil team's scientists seeking to create the ultimate Pokemon use an ancient Pokemon's DNA to create a new more powerful version
Hell he even fights mewtwo in one of the movies.
Mewtwo is a clone but I always figured Genesect was more like your typical Fossilmon that you revived then decked out in armor, auguments, and weapons. Which is a different flavor from mewtwo.
It's actually a fossilized Bug Pokemon that Team Plasma turned into a cyborg for mass-destruction to help them after Ghetsis went kinda crazy.
Its Japanese name derives from insect and genocide.
How do you regenerate a fossil Pokemon again? What exactly were they trying to accomplish by adding parts? The details are a bit different between the two but the concept and premise is identical.
low lives in Reddit and /v/ tend to go out and spite others not only for "teh lulz", but to feel better about themselves.
normally if it has to do with heavy arguing and bitching over one character
Beause not only have fire starters always been the most popular, they are also the easiest to work into a fighting game. There's only so much you can do with a quadruped and it's unlikely we'll see many more of them besides Suicune. There is also literally nothing you can do with Blastoise's tiny baby arms that give it zero mobility for close combat.
Though I will be genuinely surprised if Greninja and maybe Swampert do not get in.
>create a creature using DNA remnants
>make said creature into the ultimate lifeform
It's the same whether the origin creature is still alive or a thousand year old rock, especially since at the time mewtwo was made Mew itself was considered a myth.
I'd rather Staraptor
There are no high/low attacks in Pokken
Not really. Fossils are revived in Pokemon using fictional lazarus tech, but not cloning. Its dex entries and flavor play up being a fossilmon. If anything it's a fossil legendary rather than a mewtwo-like.
That's understandable but Feraligatr could make a good addition.
>no water starter
>no gen 2 starter
It's obvious how to fix this.
Your precious favorite got snubbed, is what went "wrong." Same as everyone complaining about it.
Protip: your favorite is irrelevant and every Pokemon in the roster is a better pick than it.
You're not wrong either, it's why I don't really care much and why I enjoy the anguish of people complaining. I'll be shocked as shit if Hydreigon gets a shot, especially considering how Game Freak seems to hate the thing.
Ghetto Gyarados is not the solution to anyone's problems.
>Game Freak isn't even making the game
Tell me what critical Pokemon they left out out of 700 choices that would have made the game perfect, anon. Go ahead. :^)
Two Pikachus. Two Mewtwos. Braixen. I have no complaints beyond that, only additions I'd like.
>still no gen 5 representation
>still no ground type representation
I want to believe. Golurk is fine too.
>Your precious favorite got snubbed, is what went "wrong." Same as everyone complaining about it.
It's not the same, my favourite got shafted 20 years ago in favour of that stupid yellow rat.
>Pika Libre is female?
Yes, she has the heart-shaped tail that all female Pikachu have had since Gen 4.
>Wally's Gardevoir in gen 3 was male.
Yeah, but Gallade was introduced as a male-only counterpart to Gardevoir, and in ORAS, Wally's Gardevoir was replaced with Gallade.
Completely disregarding popularity and only picking what I personally want
We don't have a clear model yet, just magazine scans. Check Serebii.
Congratulations, you just increased the overrepresentation bitching a thousandfold while including Pokemon with few actual fans, and all for the sake of "muh patterns."
