Fucking huge difficulty spike? Yeah, it's like you never heard of them
>>
I feel like the original soul calibur on dreamcast was like this.

Me and my brother button mashed for years and then once we started having friends over we all suddenly "got" the fighting engine and started improving.
>>
>>323926857
I think he means you gain a sudden leap in skill with enough experience.

The answer is no. Every person is different, and some people refuse to use all the tools their given in video games, especially fighting games.

Helldivers to a certian degree.
1-5 worlds are pretty easy and can be soloed no problem
6-9 world are hard for an inexperienced team
10-12 worlds require a good team to complete
Soloing 6-12 worlds requires a well practiced veteran or mastery if the distractor beacon stratagem
>>
A game where you suddenly just "get it"?

Uhhh... I suppose raiding in WoW was like this for me. One day in Kara something just clicked and I became god tier. But everyone is different.

Pretty much any game with a high skill ceiling.

The turning point is when it 'clicks'.
>>
>>323926371
World of Warcraft and mystic dungeons. In order to adapt, many players had to change how they raid, and had to take on several new roles.

Why do your axes not have units?

Why are you using axes that are quantifiable?

It is both hilarious and frighting to know there are hundreds of players that can do this online at any given time.

To show a general trend?
Propose a unit of "Skill" or "Experience", smart guy

Tokyo Jungle.
>>
>>323926371
Dark Souls maybe?

At least for me there was a certain point where everything just really clicked and anything of that particular formula is easy peasy.

>>323926371
Any game going from singleplayer to multiplayer
>>
Rocket league desu senpai. Once you learn how to fly and get the physics you have way more fun. Everything before you learn these things is just youth soccer autistic levels of ganeplay
>>
you guys don't understand what OP wants. it's not about that moment where you "understand" the game, but where you get to know a mechanic that helps you elevate your skilllevel to new heights. otherwise it almost would be every game that exists, you never played an installment of before

i would argue megaman battle network 3 is like this after you beat the game and tackle the post game content.
>>
>>323928157
He labeled it "experience" not "progress in the game"
It's the players personal familiarity with the game, not unlocking a new ability.

are you dense? I wasn't talking about some skillset that gets another addition. It's about the underlying gameplay mechanic that is "abused" to change your skilllevel in that particular area of a game to new heights. how can you be so dense? You procreating would be almost as dangerous as bread. Stop being dense.

Kerbal Space Program maybe

It's a steady climb to make it into low-orbit, then you'll plateau for a while until you figure out hohmann transfers and orbital rendezvous'. Once that understanding "clicks" you will become master of the solar system.

God Hand you retards. It's the only acceptable choice for this question.

Your first playthrough involves you slowly getting better but still ducking dick. Once you finally study the games mechanics, such as enemy AI and interrupt windows, and with 10min of practice, you become a fucking God
>>
Fighting games. Like >>323927384 said, basically any game that has that large plateau before moving over the bump to high level play

The only thing that strikes me that way would be class-based pvp. The sudden spike is when you finally learn every functionality of each ability for every other class. From ranges and cooldowns to side effects and combos.
>>
>>323926371
Metal Gear Revengeance, when you finally NEED the block skill so you actually take the time to learn it.

i don't understand? what was the original anon implying that was underage about what i posted? my reply was an attempt, apparently in vain, to say that every cs webm i see posted on /v/ is absolute shit in contrast to the point that there are some good videos.

was the original implication that i hadn't seen some popular video of the shittiest and newest version of cs? because that just doesn't make any sense.

I guess games like Quake or Counter Strike, when you start studying for them like its your job and learn the maps, routes and such? Or build orders in SC2.

Basically the moment you stop having fun and start competing.

I will clear this up one time only and never again for you, since you sound like an alright person that shouldn't be on 4chan.
How can I discern that you are underage by talking about webms? What basis do I have to report you? Why are you still not banned? Why are you answering in a complete sincere way about obvious 4chan tactics? You should try to answer these question and you will be enlightened. You don't belong here. Just like 90% of the current user base.
>>
>>323927118
This kills me. I'm trying to teach a friend to play fighting games, and he refuses to block. Says it's lame and shouldn't be part of the game.

Refuses.

To block.
>>
>>323931108
Seconding, most people get owned by Monsoon or Sam because they didn't learn how to block.
>>
Dwarf Fortress
>What the fuck is this

>Die to own stupidity
>Die to invaders
>Die to beasts
>Die to disease

>Why is this game so easy?
>>
>>323931621
Basically this. Every game i can think of where you "git gud" requires you to spend literally months playing it, studying it so hard it can't actually be fun anymore.
>>
>>323931826
>slowing the fight by blocking

You sissified maggot fight like a man!
>>
>>323931826
Fight him in real life and tell him not to block any attacks
>>
>>323931968
>sissified
That's not even a word -_-
>>
>>323931108
Except you don't.

You can beat the entire game by just dodging.
>>
>>323932081
That's what a lady like you would make up for an excuse
>>
>>323932098
People who can beat the entire game just dodging are the kind of people who learned how to block.
If you dont know hot to block, chances are you arent beating the game.
>>
>>323931770
>How can I discern that you are underage by talking about webms?
yes. how?

>What basis do I have to report you?
reported for announcing reports xdddd

>Why are you still not banned?
expecting reports to do anything

>Why are you answering in a complete sincere way about obvious 4chan tactics?
is this a merely pretending situation?

>You should try to answer these question and you will be enlightened.
as if the whole post wasn't cringy enough, this coupled with that shitty meme gif is just telling me to stop taking the bait i guess.
