One of my favorite strategies is just save up every missile I can throughout the run. Then, just unload them all on the flagship. In one run I had saved up over 100 missiles for the fight. It went down easily.

Actually till now I though Adv = Flak 1 that costs less power.
Never thought it charges faster.

But only Lanius B has Adv, so yeah.

I hate how the faggot devs label the difficulties.

Before the massive update, "normal" should have been labeled "nearly impossible".

Only way to play FTL and actually have an enjoyable time is to play on easy, where the game doesn't constantly fuck you over nonstop.

Challenge is one thing, but being unfair as well as being at the mercy of HEAVY rng bullshit, almost ruined FTL for me.

I beat the boss a few times on Easy. I never even attempted normal past the first time.

I'm not a masochist. Losing several hundred times until I get luck with rng rolls and whatnot to maybe get past mid game is not worth the effort for anyone that is sane.

Is the updated version still just as masochistic?

In my experience, it's always better to have multiple weapons that can hit more times, than a single hard hitting weapon. Missles are kinda shit anyway, since the strongest missle weapons, are out shined by gatling lazers.

Best weapon in the game, since it charges fast and each shot has multiple projectiles in it, like a shot gun shell. Just go with what you get since there is no strategy to get the better weapon consistently.

it's a little easier. Flak is basically OP. A lot of the new features are pretty niche though. Also boarding is a little tougher.

Though maybe with lvl2 O2, oxygen could recharge fast enough to save them. Might try that out sometime. Honestly I don't know why the thought of disabling oxygen never crossed my mind, maybe because the hack is so sudden that I fuck up.

Lanius make good boarding crew and you can put them on areas you don't want to get on fire.

Usually by the time I find a lanius I have all posts covered so I just leave them either as roaming or in the O2/Medbay/Doors

Shove it in the back of the ship to man some system that isnt essential and drain oxygen from all surrounding areas. Doesnt matter if theres holes/fire in there because its out of oxygen already
They are also great for defending vs intruders since you can drain oxygen from a room and the intruders will die much faster than your Lanius

I put them in charge of the rooms near the edges of ships where no one is going to be walking through and getting damaged.

It's actually helpful to have them in charge of shields or weapons because they can fix breaches without suffocating and fires go out quickly without air.

Both are good but ultimately id say pre-igniter takes the cake if you have enough spare scrap
10% is not that much, especially since the fully charged firing speed is already fast as fuck
Also pre-igniter is almost always better with every other weapon and fucks up every minor ship before they can even retaliate

Ive gotten a mod that removes the rebel ships approach until the final zone so I can essentially turn it into a space-faring RPG game until the final boss

Its fun as fuck but I lose fuel quickly, hopefully I'll be able to unlock some of those RNG ships

That only really works when you have weapons with the same reload time.
Would be neat if the game had an auto salvo option, which would wait until all the guns are charged and then fire them. Although that still wouldn't account for projectile speed.

The Vulcan is GOAT-tier especially in terms of fun, but the spool up time means you'll need to think long and hard when you come across it because in the wrong build you'll get killed before it even takes down all of an enemies bubbles.
