NoA did it again
>Japanese cover carbon copy
The covers look terrible, both of them.
It just has a poor balance of color and placement compared to the GC and Wii versions. If you quick glance at it it just looks like a cluttered mess, a big no-no for a video game cover.
>wasn't Ganon showing up meant to be a twist
It's a plot development, but it really wasn't a big twist, at all.
Hell, I recall Aonuma even mentioning that we'd "find out what happened to Ganondorf in TP" a few months before the game originally came out.
Because you're the only one in this thread who isn't a total idiot, I will reply to you.
WHAT are you talking about?
This is the best cover out of this gen so far aside from Pokken Tournament.
>Ganondorf is colored and not muted like the JP/EU cover, and he has more space.
>Link and Midna at the forefront, and Link and Epona besides marking the duality again between Shadow and Light.
I usually hate NOA, but this time they did a good job for once.
It's not so much the content of the cover that is the problem for me, it's how they present it.
With a video game cover there needs to be an easy focus, something your eyes are immediately drawn towards, and then there can be more smaller detail in the background.
The original TP cover had a simple and eye-catching cover, a split between wolf and link. Here it's a bunch of stuff thrown in along with it, and you can't really tell what's supposed to be at centre stage here unless you look more carefully.
Out of those, the first three are on the left row were used in Europe as well as the latter two of the right row, so not really, among those the balance is slightly in Japan's favor.
No, Ganondorf was never a twist.
Just like in Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, you have a character telling you about him long, long before you get to meet him. It's a little earlier than halfway through the game.
Putting Midna's true form on the cover is a pretty big spoiler, but it's kind of always been in the official art so it isn't exactly new. Wish it wasn't there, though.
I can see why that guy thinks that. My first memory of Zelda is my cousin getting a very shiny gold cart for NES so I've associated gold with it ever since. If you grew up during that time you might have a similar experience.
but if its not colorful then kids wont buy it
To be fair, both are shit.
>No Zant in either one
>Midna just randomly shoved on top of the artwork on EU/JP
>Ilia and Ganondorf shoved on top of the artwork in both ones
For EU/JP, they took the original box art, and just shoved a bunch of existing character art onto it.
For NA, they took the original artwork, oversaturated it, cut out Zant, and shoved a bunch of existing character art onto it.
Both of them are guilty of being lazy.
Because over here, they made the first Zelda game have a gold cover and a gold cartridge, and continued it with every game since, so it became synonymous with Zelda games.
I kind of fail to see the problem here. They both use the exact same images, minus the depressed Link and Wolf heads slapped on the front. Plus, have you guys actually WATCHED the trailers for the remake? Its clearly much brighter and colorful than the original release anyhow. Not exactly related to the box itself, sure, but I fail to see what exactly is "wrong" with either cover.
>Ganondorf on the cover not Zant
jesus fucking christ could it be any more obvious that this is a cheap cash-in made for people who've already played it?
It just goes to show that once again, GENESIS DOES what nintendon't
I hate this shit where they occasionally change the spine color
Makes my library look bad.
wii sports club spine really tickles my tism
When the console first launched it had a lot of third party support. But the games didn't sell because most of them were minimal effort, buggy ports for full price. So the third parties abandoned it.
Most of the games anon has there are from that time.
>Not in Alphabetical order
How are you guys organizing this shit?
While we're on the topic of NoA and box art, anyone else just a tiny bit miffed that we didn't get the black "mature" banner that the Japanese box arts get? It compliments games like XenobladeX and Bayo2 a lot more than the standard light-blue.
I don't think that's the case for Bayo 2, and it should be the default. Nintendo desperately needs a separation of their family friendly image and other random games they publish so that we don't wind up with another Fatal Frame V situation.
I have to agree with him.
I don't like the extra characters they slapped on there, especially Ganondorf. Not because HURR ITS A SPOILER but I think
having Link/Wolf and Zelda/Zant would be better thematically.
If they really wanted more characters, have a faded Ganondorf and the Hero's Spirit because they're Zant and Link's impetuses.
The American boxart is better.
It makes it clearer who the main characters are. Link and Imp Midna. They're both on steads, so ti both appear important.
The real Midna and Zelda are back to back, because they represent essentially the same thing on either light or twilight.
The color choice is actually spot on. The right side is a beautiful green, and the left side is red. To symbolize light and dark. However, there is a gradient of gold that comes from above. This is perfect because Green going into gold, creates the visual of a warm natural light. The kind Zelda would be bathed in. And red going into gold creates that brownish, unnatural light. The same kind that the twilight world is bathed in.
In summary: better color, better composition, better symbolism. US boxart: 10/10
>Xboner division porting games to Windows 10
>Nintendo games on Sony console
>rare one-off Sony games that are decent (DeS, BB, and that's probably it up to now) and Nintendo exclusives on a single console
>Sony only releases gimmicks later on and doesn't support them, they're just practical jokes to catch stupid consumers
>I don't have to buy 3 consoles anymore to play everything I want, just keep upgrading my PC and buy the 8 year cycle Sony console
I fucking wish. Then again
>Sony would probably ruin Nintendo games
>Sony can't into profits and would probably go bankrupt
I don't know.
